I didn't like that Martha was all cool about it. Is this the same Martha Kent that got all pissy at Clark for going off with Alicia? Oh yeah, it was Lana, so that makes it A-Ok. :\

I agree with Parker on this one. Even though he still doesn't have his powers back yet, he is still not of this earth.

The expressions on the Kent's faces were priceless!
Ranks up there (if not better than) the bathroom/shower scene in Season 4's "Gone' episode with Lois smiling & peeking over the shoulder of Clark in the bathroom doorway saying "Hi Mrs. Kent!"
Far better scene than the Alicia episodes in Clark's room!

Lol! I actually thought their little "sneaking-out" scene was cute.
But yeah, I still don't like the fact that they had sex in the first place. I mean, not just because I'm not a Clana fan, but...I'm a girl. Putting myself in Lana's shoes....I'd at least like my boyfriend to TELL me he's an alien before sticking it to me! I mean...he's probably "super"...he could've ripped her to shreds, for all we know. :rotfl:
again with the alien story? did anything happen to Lana? no, she's fine lol.

It was OOC for Martha. Completely OOC. And Jonathan was right... While Clark is living under his parents' roof, he can't be having sex. Period. Doesn't matter if he's 18 or not, he's in THEIR house.

No, it really wasn't OOC of Martha imo. For one, this time clark didn't run off and get married. Secondly, she hated alicia and never believed Clark loved her. Thirdly, she likes Lana and knows as well as understands more than JK how much he loves her. Two totally different situations.

he wasn't an alien, he was human. that's why all his medical test came back normal. It still doesn't make it totally right though, he still didn't tell Lana about his past. But, I thought it was cute. I'm also a Clana fan, so I may be biased.

Clark should've known his parents wouldn't be happy about it. Remember JKs reaction after finding Alicia in Clark's bedroom? And I can't get over Clark's "because you guys always think I'm not normal". Newsflash Clark: Being found in a spaceship in the middle of a meteor shower IS NOT NORMAL. Trips to the Arctic to talk with your dead father through sophisticated alien AI technology? NOT NORMAL.

actually remember Clark said "oh like you didn't" and Martha had a "oh damn he got you" look on her face for the briefest of moments.
Go back and watch... Martha wasn't upset because she probably remembers something similar with her and Jonathan when they were teenagers...

I thought the scene when Lana and Clark were rushing to get dressed was really cute.
Clark: We gotta get outta here. Well.. You..you gotta get out of here.
Lana: You sure? Because sticking around for breakfast sounds like fun.
Clark: Wha..?
Lana: "We won't fall asleep. I promise" What else are we gonna do 2o'clock in the morning?
Clark: Look.. you're not mad are you?
Lana: Furious.
It was funny watching Tom Welling acting like a kid who was caught stealing from the cookie jar. Altho that didn't really help him in the whole "I'm 18" bit... And Lana rushes out the house.
AugenStern
10-15-2005, 04:26 AM
It was a corny scene, and the only reason it was done was so they could have that awkwardly cliche moment getting caught by the parents.
Lana has her own spiffy apartment where they could fool around in complete privacy (unless Lex lets himself in again...Lana should really change that lock). Why do it at your parent's house and ask to get caught? Silly.

I thought it was a great scene but I don't think they had sex at Clark's though.
What I believe happened was they had sex at the Talon and then at 2 am Lana followed Clark home and they decided they wanted to be together so they snuck in and fell asleep by accident.

That's not the point he shouldn't have done it UNDER his PAREN'tS roof anyways. Like I said it was disrespectful and it was also DUMB.
I'd say that Martha understands that Clark really does have feelings for Lana, and hence the green light.
Also, how does location have anything to do with having sex? I just fail to see the point. Parent's house, friend's house, hotel, car, err... long list.
I don't want to start a war here but am just really baffled by some of the reasons given here.

Err, well he's not too young that's for sure.
However I do understand the alien part. Then again if they played it safe then I don't see how it would be a problem.
When these things come up parents should basically just say what's necessary and leave it at that. By necessary I mean that they have to make sure proper protection is always used. There's nothing more to it really.

I stil say it is disrespectful and it is as for the so called green light from Martha she was shocked but she was supportive and doesn't mean she like either. come one UNDER THEIR ROOF that is not a hotel and as moral as the Kents are they should be angry.

Wow, some of you have never EVER been in love! When you got a major love jones going for someone plus you are "active" with them, you will take any shot you can get at some action, no matter where you are.
True, they could've stayed at the talon, but this was waaaaay funnier.

Think about it...she's trying to make some pretty quick tracks in order NOT to get caught by the Kents...she's not going to go searching around the room for the shirt she tossed off, God knows where, during the heat of passion. No, she's going to grab the nearest pieces of clothing she can find, dress as quickly as she can and try to make her escape before they wake up. Getting "caught" doesn't play nearly as cute and funny in real life as it does on screen...that's why you grab what you can find!

And YES, I thought the exact same thing! I agree completely. Clark is well aware of his parents, and I say parents because Martha felt this way before as well, views on this type of activity. When it was Alicia they were horrified, so the whole "Martha thinks it's ok because it's Lana" thing doesn't fly with me. I think it's more like "TPTB are ok with it because it was Lana". Martha was OCC. Even when she suspected Clark and Lois (the shower scene) she was upset. And let's not forget the bra in the hay. Clark knew his parents would be upset or he would have just come downstairs and said,
"Oh Mom, don't use the water right now, Lana's in the shower. What's for breakfast?"

shouldn't it then be OOC ?
And I think Martha could be in character approving of Lana over Alicia. She has always liked Lana and I think there was some chock with Alicia in how fast they moved. clark ash a point that he and Lana have known each other forever. They've had a lot of time to think about the consequences of their actions. Mind you also that Alicia DID happen when Clark was probably <18 and before they had a lot of dialogue about Clark having to become an adult and making his own decisions. Martha would also be quite well aware that Lana and clark were friends and were 'close' first before the actions whereas with Alicia, clark knew nothing about her and immediately got physical. I really don't see how the 2 situations could be compared at all... and if you shoudl notice that the TPTB treated the 2 situations uniquely and entirely differently.
the alicia scene was basically her ambushing him and mounting him. She took him by surprise and they got animal lusty. When the parents found out, clark and alicia looked ashamed.
With Lana and Clark, they planned the initial encounter out a bit and took it slowly and 'romantically'. The morning after scene months later in Hidden they are actually joking with each other which shows that they are comfortable with each other without guilt and not just lusting. It also shows they ahve 'bonded' a bit. They also used the 'cute' sneaking out scene to show that they feel more like a 'team' and Clark's first reaction is not guilt but justification.
I think they treated each scene appropriately.

I agree with you Shirkie......it would be harder & akward for them to deal with it because they've known Lana a lot longer, but Martha would have still been super upset.....maybe not as much in front of Lana, but definitely later. And I wish Mr. Kent would just smack Clark even if it doesn't hurt him. Do it at the Talon....not under your father's roof you idiot!
And I always thought, that despite the fact that Clark had God like powers, he was always humbled when talking to his earth Father....Johnathen Kent......Yeah, his Earth Father was always supposed to have had more control over Clark than Jor-el could ever even hope for.........now where did I ever get that silly idea.......yeah....boy having respect for his Father? The whole scene made no sense because they were doing 'it' at the talon - so how did they end up in Clarks bed and why? Maybe he has a curfew and couldnt stay out all night? If so then maybe she did come home with him for a bit after they had done it at the Talon and then they fell asleep but that is sooooo far fetched. Doesnt make sense really.

the 2 scenes were not joined.. the afterglow happened weeks/months after.
Hence why Lana said 'I told you we should have gone to the talon'
why would she say that if they had been AT the talon.

The whole thing about he shouldn't be doing it under his parents roof?! What??! Are you guys living in the 19th century??! He's 18, two years over the age of consent, its perfectly natural....for his parents to say (as JK did) "you shouldn't be doing anything like this" is just stupid, he's an adult in a relationship with another adult...why the hell not?!
