Level 3 has always been in Luthercorp I thought. Didn't we see it in Season 1 during the hostage situation?

I wondered if level 3 was related to level 33.1, if it's not...then this was a missed oppotunity.

From what i've read level 33.1 is something the producers didn't like so for the time being they won't be using it... and i red this on this site... just so people don't get confused... this may or may not be old news

Lvl 3 is a the Lexcorp plant in Smallville. Lvl 33.1 is in Metropolis at Luthorcorp.

Now does any of that matter to todays writers? who knows.

Lvl 33.1 was dropped because it was "too comic booky" (AlMiles own words).

Yeah but didn't TPTB also say that Chloe definitely dies and doesn't make it into season 4?

We knew even before TPTB said that that Chloe would be back in season 4. They were trying to hide the fact that Chloe was alive. Lvl 33.1... They simply dropped it. :\

I t was a good idea. But this could be the last time we hear of it. Maybe we will hear about in the later half of the season.

We'll see a lot more of it since the ship is there, but as far as Level 3 or 33.1 being a battleground for FOTW's and one comes out each episode, that's too..kid like. I feel like I'll be watching Power Rangers if they went with that idea.

the level 33.1 ficasco has been one of the biggest problems on the show so far, for the fans

it really higlighted their disregard of the continuity strings that make a show work, and since then, there has been a lot of discussion about this

when i first read the 'comic booky' quote in SFX magazine, it didnt seem like trying to hide something... it seemed like a guy saying 'nah, it was crap, wont go there again'

Wasn't Myxptlk (sp?) taken to level 33.1? We never did see it though.

Level 3 was the lowest basement floor at the LuthorCorp fertilizer plant where Lionel was experimenting with meteor rocks. He shut down that location but just moved it elsewhere such as to Cadmus Labs and the project just became known as the "Level 3 experiments" since that is where it all started. It looked like they were going to have Lex's own version of it experimenting with meteor freaks and such at 33.1 but they changed course and just have Lex taking over "Level 3."

I got the impression that they didn't have any idea how popular the level 33.1 plotline was.:\

I swear, I've heard/read SOMEWHERE that Al & Miles say they always hated the idea of Level 3. Why do they keep bringing it back? Of all the continuities that could take place on the show, they pick the one thing that they hate?

I think the idea most people were behind with 33.1, was that it was Lex experimenting, and controlling he was becoming more of an enemy. It didn't have to last for the rest of the show or anything, and it didn't have to star in every weeks episode. It could've been a progressive story line that culminated in something really big for Clark to deal with, and it could've also marked the end of 33.1 if they felt it couldn't be continued. That at least would've satisfied my appetite for the idea.

The lvl 33.1 was supposed to be a HQ for Lex's FOTW Army (according to AlMiles).

maybe 33.1 was a staging area like myx and them fotws in mortal went to
just to get them started then later move them on to the luthorcorp plants level 3 for testing who knows but mortal had some good potential to at least tie up 33.1 or go into more depth
hopefully it will turn up later in the season

Without pointing to possible (if any) spoilers on future episodes, what can you tell me about Level 33.1 from past episodes? I've seen every episode and it's not clicking what exactly that is. Maybe the episode it was in might jog my memory. :)

more specifically than that... upon Lex finding out about Mxy's loss of powers in Jinx he takes him there. It was a hidden floor in Luthorcorp and when Lex opens the door to bring Mxy inside you just see bright light shining on them and a look of shock on Mxy's face when he sees what's inside. Lex had said something about what has been lost can always be found again (or something like that) which foreshadows that they're going to experiment on him in there like they supposedly do with other fotws

I have no problem with the producers saying they dont want to use it anymore and want to pretend it never happened...

But I am having a hard time finding the "continuity problems" that others are griping about.

Lvl 3 is at the lexcorp plant in Smallville...

Lvl 33.1 is in the luthorcorp building in Metropolis.

Where is the conflict exactly?

Really. They are both labs where Lex is conducting experiments on Kryptonite and Meta Humans. Lex could have moved the 33.1 stuff to the other lab or they could simply be two branches doing similar work.

Really I don't see an issue. Both are indications of the same thing. Lex conducting metor rock experiments. I don't really see a need for them to have to Label a lab 33.1 for it to be the same thing. Honestly due to the nature of the experiments it wouldn't surprise me to find out Lex moves the location around and changes the name quite regularly.

they didn't label the lab 33.1 that's the floor in the LuthorCorp building that it's on. It's a hidden floor between floor 33 and floor 34. (it might be the top floor I don't know how many floors are in the Luthorcorp building) Technically it's the real floor 34 but they left it off the grid and you can only get the elevator to stop there so you can access it the way Lex did, ie: thumbprint ID and a password. They set it up like that because he's clearly doing illegal experiments there and that would help to keep people like government inspectors out of there since they don't know it exists.

It's like one of the more recent James Bond movies. I believe it was the one with the Newspaper media mogule guy. He had a hidden floor on the top of his building for doing illegal stuff without the risk of having someone barge in.
