I loved the scene between Clark and Lois . . .
starts out where they first see each other and they hug, and clark asks if she's ok before asking about his parents . . . it showed that they really do care for each other, it was a nice change of pace from the constant "busting of each others chops"
And Lois made a joke about not getting the flowers, and covered it up w/ defensive humor as always
but like i've said many times before, There is a little truth behind every joke.
She's starting to fall for Clark . . .
what do you all think?

Yeah I thought the Clois scene was well done. I can see how she is sort of falling for Clark. However, she didn't seem worried about Chloe.

I love the Clois hug at the hospital! Great Clois moments in this episode. :)

yeah, i agree. and also did you notice that she called out clark's name when she got to the kents' house...jonathan tells her that clark wasn't there when the meteors hit...
the hospital scene was awesome...i loved the clois hug! was unexpected... i wish more had been said between lois and clark though when she said she had to catch a plane in 2 hours for switzerland...clark didn't really say goodbye to her, and we don't know how long she was gonna be gone.

it was ok. i was hoping for better, but i already knew that wasnt gonna happen because the writers still arent done with clana.
imo i would have been a great touch if clark would have split the bouqet (dont know if im spelling it right) of flowers in two, and would have given Lois one half :)
and i agree with you the_real_lois_lane, lois is leaving and they didnt really said goodbye...

The thing I liked about the interaction was that Clark seemed so preoccupied (as always) with some major crisis he can't talk about. That would be somewhat intriguing to Lois but as the undercurrent of every interaction with Clark it would also be a little off-putting. This makes it believable that they DON'T hook up until much much later.

Don't forget, for the 2nd time she sent Clark off to Lana...she didn't really seem jealous, but perhaps a little annoyed ;)

I really love how Smallville is going about the Lois/Clark relationship. I mean, technically, I hold strong to the idea that Clark shouldn't meet Lois until that fateful day at the Daily Planet, but seeing as Smallville regularly bends comic-canon rules, I think they're doing it well.
I like how Lois and Clark have their little quips and seem like they can't stand each other sometimes, but really make it quite obvious that they care for each other. I like how they're affectionate with each other, but not to the cheesy point that Clana can sometimes reach.
I don't like Clana much, mainly because I'm sick of Lana, but I don't want TPTB to rush into Clois. They're doing the right thing by making it gradual...so when Lois and Clark realize they've fallen in love, they won't know what hit them. :)

Lois runs into the house and sees Jonathan digging through the rubble for Martha, Jonathan tells Lois that he's looking for Martha. When she calls out, "Clark" is the first thing she says because he's the one she's worried about the most. She looked extremely relieved to discover that Clark was not with them.

I loved the hug between Clark and Lois it was sweet and heartfelt and showed sincere care for each other.
Very nicely done and presented.
I thought that the flowers scene in the hallway of the hospital was so cute, Lois babbling about the flowers, Clark thanking Lois for looking after his parents and how much it truly meant to him, Lois telling about when her flight was and with a grin, telling Clark about where Lana's room was.
They didn't need a goodbye, they already had one that morning after Clark's nightmare remember.
I thought it was a nice gesture that Martha held Jonathan AND Lois' hand in the hospital scene when Martha thanks Lois and they all look affectionately and very family like together. It's no wonder in the future that Lois fits right in with the Kent family.
There are traces of Clois buried deep in both of them, it's there somewhere...

I thnk that Lois and Lex (while we're on the subject of characters) should stay away from Clark and Lana, respectively. We all know that Lex has been sweet on Lana for a long while, but I think if he begins to go after her he will get himself into a fierce battle. Clark is not about to let Lana go this time. Also, Lois is cool, but she is just not good enough for Clark, IMO. They need to keep their relationship at the "busting each other's chops" level. The Clana factor is just too strong for Lois and Lex to mess with. So strong that I believe Lana's impending rejection of him will be the thing that pushes Lex over the edge into the dark side. Mark my words!

Great post :) I loved it when Martha grabbed Lois' hand, future family, that was an amazing scene. Jonathan seems to be starting to care for Lois as like a daughter, Martha too, so that makes it even more sweeter :)
That hug was so great, it was so unexpected and I loved it :D

I loved Lois going back to help the Kents out of the house. I was hoping they were going to do that in the season finale, but no luck. Then, it happened last night and I was like 'yay!'. It made sense after she just got done telling them 'you two are like the parents I never had', and it almost seems like Lois is winning over Martha and Jonathan.
Maybe his parents are the ones that push Clark towards Lois after Lana.:)

Yea I really enjoy the CLOIS moments, they are a real bright spark to the show and I'm always keen to see how things develop. I don't care if Lois is supposed to be on SV or not, its done now I just wanna know what is going to happen between the two if anything. To the writers credit they have worked this storyline well. I was digging the hug Lois gave Clark, it seems like her guard is well and truly down now so its going to be good seeing their relationship grow and develop. Add in alot more Clana scenes and I'm sure that'll add some sort of tensions from either side.
I would love to see Lana taking the more insecure/jealous route over potential CLOIS but staying in the relationship with Clark the whole season. I don't want to see a quick break up or the extremely tedious what's your secret storyline. Clark and Lois's friendship should grow stronger despite the love/hate whilst having something underlying that is totally oblivious to the two of them whilst obvious to the 3rd green eye.

I thougth the scene was cute and to the point. They were happy to see each other. She even kind of seemed to panick during the whole looking for Martha scene with Jonathan when she started calling out for Clark and Martha. I think they are at a point of where they don't realize how much they mean to each other. I know there is a great chance we'll never see their relationship but they also seem to hint at the relationship that is in store for their future at the same time.

i loved that too. it showed they really cared about each other. but it still has the clois banter w/ the flowers and lois losing her voice. i thought it was cute. i know clark has to go through his thing with lana and figure out she's not the one he's in love with but i don't wanna wait. i hope they have some realizations by the end of the season (if not earlier).

Clois is definitely going to be classic this season, especially in Aqua. Get to see some Clark reaction to when Lois actually shows interest in a guy.

I totally missed it last season - the Clois chemistry - and I've watched most of the episodes twice even before the S.4 dvd's came out. I only just kind of sensed the chemistry in 'Lucy'. That's a long time. Is there an indefinite DC restriction on the Clois relationship or is it just a one season thing? From what the produceres say though, it kind of sounds self-imposed. That's the problem with bringing Lois on the show. She's kind of a scene-stealing character. How can you put her next to Clark and not have something happen? It's just the nature of the character. You can only have her playing the military kid brat for so long.
Funny BC I used to think the Clana relationship was so intereesting before SV came on, and now I realize that there's a reason why the Clois relationship has worked for three-quarters of a century.

All about Clark
10-06-2005, 12:23 PM
I actually think at this point she cares more for him than he cares for her. Her punching him in the arm, that's affection. But he treats her like a brother would a sister and keeps looking to Lana and she knows she has to guard it or keep it from growing. Which is why she'll turn her interest to Aquaman, as in guarding her emotions for Clark. When Clark's Lana blinders come off, he finally see all the fun he's had with Lois. But she'll be so good at guarding she might not notice the switch in his attention.

It really bothered me that Lois was more concerned with letting Clark know where Lana was than wondering where her cousin was. I understand that the writers would've encountered difficulty having Clark try to explain/lie to Lois in a scene that was supposed to be lighthearted, but it was really OOC for Lois to not be wondering where Chloe was AT ALL.

From the way I saw it, didn't Lois think that Chloe got to safety in "Commencement"? Yeah she should have asked about her but alot things were going on, so I guess for all Lois knew Chloe got to safety
