View Full Version : They really screwed themselves, and us fans, by not making this show 1.5-2 hours long

A show filled with so many things: starts out in Arctic at FOS [which was AWESOME, btw!] - dealing with Jor-El and that training stuff, saving Chloe and then secret's total revelation to Chloe [AWESOME again!], parents survive direct hit on house and then at hospital, deflecting Lex' suspicions, Zod-following-Kyrptonians searching for Kal-El; then fight; then end up in Phantom Zone, starts the Clana relationship, and first glimpse of Brainiac.

They packed a 43-min episode full of stuff that deserved the majority of time for its own episode.

I hate saying this because I really did love the show, but it felt really disconnected and disjointed after the secret-revelation-to-Chloe. And a quick painless fight like that between 3 super-powered Kryptonians? Pretty pathetic really.

The one thing I won't complain about is the new opening credits... those were the SHIZNIT! (can't wait to see this season's eps in HD! *whenever that will be*)

It's called a budget. They went overbudget and couldn't afford a fight. Plus, it's not their call how long the episode is.

I guess I just had visions of how things might go... not quite what I was hoping for.

I think the people that were screwed were the ones that looked at all the preview clips like me. it was like watching 10 min of what we didnt really know about. That was the whole episode for me.

haha, i hear you forever zero. not only did i look at the preview clips i watched the trailer on yahoo. this episode should've been a two parter at a minimum. for as much as the WB has been pushing this premiere, they should've extended the budget and time of the episode. i'm not saying i didn't love it, but i think i just loved it because the show's finally back on air, not what i saw on tv tonight.

Agreed. Except for the creation of the FOS/training-knowledge-download and the Lana-dupes-Zod's followers-and-then-Clark/evil Kryptonians-fight scene-and finally evil Ks then in PZ "picture frame", I had already practically seen the entire episode in either those preview clips or all the different trailers shown throughout the last week and a half or so.

But nobody but myself to blame for that, I watched the clips, nobody forced me to. :\

We all knew exactly how long the episode was gonna be. The only thing that dissapointed me a little was that the fight was so short. I enjoyed everything else that they packed into the episode.
