"You owe me"

When Lana was reading the paper announcing the Teagues' death, was that Lionel or Lex who wrote "You owe me". I assumed it was Lionel, but I'm not sure how that makes any sense. Any thoughts?

I think it was for covering up her death and getting LAna out of the hot seat.

it was lex, lionel wouldnt send her anything in his state. This looks like he is going to make attempts to blackmail lana this season with this. maybe tell her things about clark so she will confront him about it and he will lie again making her feel like the way she felt in their last relationship.

i think it was lex, too.
the timeline would make it lex, not lionel. lionel went into his catatonic state BEFORE the meteor shower hit...so he couldn't have written that in the newspaper that was printed AFTER the meteor shower hit, because he was still in his catatonic state.

so while lionel took care of GT's body in lana's apartment, i'm assuming lex took care of jason's body at the kents. maybe that's what he was doing when clark showed up at the house....not sure though, but that would make more sense to me.

but i agree with you, Forever Zero...i think lex will use this against lana...maybe say that he will go to the authorities about GT's murder..i don't know, but i think he will try and use it...maybe this is how he gets her involved in a relationship?? hhmmm...something to think about.

her character would look really weak if she let lex force her into in a relationship but i think it is a possiblilty.

It was lex. He even mentioned in the season 4 finale that he was going to "handle" the murder for her. He told her this right after she killed GT.

I love that he wrote that in the newspaper and the look on Lana's face when she was reading the article and what lex wrote. Fabulous. I also want to see how and when he's going to blackmail her cause you know that's got to be coming.

Almost 100% sure it is Lex, especially with the condition that Lionel is in.

I don't like the fact that Lex might use it against her. That would be too easy and very predictable. I hope the writers come up with better things than that.

What I wondered is, what happened to Genevieve's body? Did Lex take it so he would use it against her? This will be interesting!

If it was Lex, maybe he was able to blame the meteor shower on Genevieve's death.

This was why I originally thought it was Lionel, b/c he's the only one who would know where GT's body is.

well yes, but seeing as he turned into a comatose state cause of the stone, I doubt he would be able to put a note on a fresh newspaper, therefore I think it's Lex.....evil, evil, manipulative Lex, he has finally turned to the dark side after a long battle.

As for Lana, her caracter could be stronger if it wasn't for the idiot writers who screw her up after trying to rebuild her, so if she does got to Lex cause of that note I will be very displeased, but unfortunately not surprised.:(

It was most definitely Lex. This scene was meant to contrast Clark and Lex. Think back to what Chloe said in the hospital about Clark saving people and taking zero credit. And here’s Lex pretending to save Lana (Lionel took care of the Genevieve) and making sure that she gave him credit for doing so.

Yep, it was Lex. It had to be Lex. Afterall he did find her with the stone in her hand with blood on top of GT. He might have seen her stabbed GT with it.

I was very surprised that he wrote that...but glad....it makes for a great many twists....and I like that to happen this season

It makes sense....but add the Chloe/Lex scene with that and we have some really big changes...that we knew were bubbling under the surface all happening with Lex this year....

It's about time...and kind of exciting to see.....Lex and other (I wont spoil here) new things happening....
Devious...exciting....twists...turns....looking for a darker, more mature season all around

Lana (Kristin) was really good in this eppy....I actually felt her terror etc..

Chloe, awesome..and Lex...just the right touches....

Good eppy...one major complaint...too rushed and wish it were longer
