Afterwards, since I am sure the board will be down, rate 'Arrival' here. I know it is still early, but the boards always go down on the good episodes. I am only into the first 10 minutes and I give a grade A+. I will post my comments later, but so far so good.

The ending was so good! But all in all, i had higher expectations. I wanted to see clark and lex fight, hopefully they do next week.

I think better than Commencement - Clark is getting more confident and character is maturing. I liked all the scenes. The Kryptonian characters were interesting, but it wasn't the best part of the show. The relationships and character building with Clark, Chloe, Lana, and Lex were the best part.

The only thing is they packed so much into this one episode, that it didn't make for any one part of it fulfilling - but I guess that's the point of a premiere or finale.

Great stuff. I just hope they don't have the back and forth stupidy with Clark and Lana once he gets his powers back. They deserve a season together.

I gave it a 1 - I haven't seen any better out of Smallville. This played out with the quality of a movie.

I didn't give it a awesome because I usually don't, but I feel Smallville was really great tonight.

I loved all of it and I can't wait for more. The ending was great and James Marster's as Brainiac is brilliant casting by TPTB. They finally get a good cast for this year. Kudos for them actually promoting the show and trying to get the ratings up.

In all, this show doesn't get a rating because it was just that good.

New questions to be answered, no Isobel plot, (thank you lord) and Chloe finally talking to Clark and now them being comfortable.

I did think the fight scene was a bit week but I still gave it an awesome because I was on the edge of my seat overall thoughout the whole episode. The ending was incredible and made up for the weak fight scene for me anyway.

I was the same way - on the edge of my seat the whole time. I couldn't wait for the next scene when it went to commercial break. I hope the next few episodes are good!

When to ratings get released? I'm interested to see how it shaped up compared to OC, Survivor, etc...

i gave it a 2 because it wasnt really that exciting because all the spoiler clips. Then the dissappointing fight with clark and kryptonians. If i hadnt seen all the clips before i would probably of given it a 1

This episode was good but not great...Jason dying while Martha and Jonathan emerge essentially unscathed was too convenient and predictable. By far the best part was Chloe and Clark in the hospital room. I don't think this was as good as "Commencement", but I think "Mortal" has the potential to be really great.

I like the interaction between the characters and the last scene with Brainiac. I was bothered by the selective unconsciousness though.Lex should of been of cold after being thrown into a cave wall but was up walking around like nothing happened. Lana was knocked out while Clark "fought" kryptonians further delaying her gaining any knowledge about Clark. How did Lex find Chloe so quick?

that episode, was just..beautiful. Ive never seen Smallville like this, they truely are taking this next stage of Clark's journey to superman to a whole new level. I loved every minute of it and was in awe during many moments, giddy during others, and laughing in disbelief at little things like Lana reading her paper and seeing Jason dead and Lex wrote "You Owe Me One" that was..I think I like the new Lex, its a new attitude leading toward his ultimate destiny.

Clark is truely becoming mature and it shows, he handled all that came to him so well. I love the feel of the new Season, him and Chloe, it was great, shes there for him completely and hes glad to have a friend along for the journey.

Too much to really say, im still in a daze, a good one, im loving this season already

I learned once again to never EVER take the freaking spoilers as gospel.

Nam-Ek and Aethyr not nude.
Aethyr not blonde.
Aethyr does not pick up a HUMVEE and throw it.
No Lois taking them to Fort Ryan to find Kal-El.

I loved Lionel's "Their home is their poison."

Now Clark has no powers he now feels he can be open and honest with Lana. What happens when he gets his powers back.
Is he still going to be open and honest?

Chloe and Clark have now had the talk, finally!

Ooh Brainiac.

Damn fine season opener.

It is not about the poll not being up to anybody's standards. It should just be the other way around. Think about it. When you rate something on a scale of 1-10, the higher the number you give, the more you liked what you saw. The lower the number, the less you thought of what you saw. It is your poll though, so do what you want.

I am giving the opener a 5/5.

Best premiere they have done, and definately one of the best episodes ever.

I thought this episode was fantastic --- seriously, the worst part about this show is that you have to wait a whole week to see the next episode!

ya thats what sux when u have a show like this and its only an hour. you can do so much more in an episode but u cant keep having 2 hour episodes.


this episode was great and the special effects were awsome. wish they did the scene with the fight and stuff at the military base cause that would have been cooler but probably been to long so they made it at lexs which was still cool. too bad no backflip. the way brainiac is introduced is cool. and making the last 5 seconds with jjames marsters will keep people wondering who he is and what he is doing till episode 3. and im glad they didnt make it like hey look we got james marsters so we are going to have him during the whole episode.

We were all on the edge of our seats for the first half hour. I thought it was amazing. Like most others, I wish the fight scene was longer, but it was as close to perfect as they can get. I hope they can keep the continuity going this season!!

It started well, but fizzled, IMO. The beginning with Jor-El and the first Lex bit and Lois and Mr. Kent digging out Martha and all the way up through the Clark/Chloe part were good. (Several things in Jor-El's speech had me thinking on the movies)

But then it kind of deflated for me. Mostly due to Zod's minions. They were a one episode nothing (so far, anyway) used exclusively to bring in Zod, and it felt contrived to me. If they show up again later I'll have to revise my opinion.

Um, and couldn't Clark have called Chloe and let her know he wouldn't be back? How did Lex find Chloe? (hopefully we'll get an answer next week) Why didn't Lois express any worry about Chloe (esp. after Lana was brought in as Chloe was going after her)? Some of this we can say happened off-screen, but I'd have like to have seen it.

Still the ending (both the ominous note to Lana and the Lex/Chloe bit) was cool.
