Yeah, I'm very impressed with the new opening sequence!

I saw it and I was like "Whoa! This is different!" But I really loved it. They all looked great in it, and usually I don't think much of how Chloe looks, but in the opening credits she's like, WOW! She definitely looked the best I've seen her.

The New Opening Sequence was great with the exception of misspelling Kristin's name, but the Ladies looked amazing along with the Guys.

I felt that SV has changed for the better due to the opening squence, it puts the last four years in the past and it seems like we are starting a bit fresh again, so i like that, and with the way the episode played out, that seems to be where we are headed with the show, hope it keeps going strong.

I actually kind of thought that opening credits were a sell-out. There's no doubt that the effects are amazing, they're off the wall for sure, but it felt like they might have been trying too hard. I enjoyed the credits the way before, only with new scenes added in. And did you realize that almost no old scenes from other seasons were added in? That upset me a bunch too. Oh well, to bed with my rambling...

Protoge, the sword shatter thing was from... That.... Horrible...... episode........ "Slumber." The sword from that movie, "Throne of Blood." But let us never speak of that episode again.

The new credits kick ass. I have to say, though, I miss the original Clark shot from Season 1's credits where he's looking at the camera and superspeeds away (from "Pilot").

I agree with what people are saying about the people turning around like glamor shots-- they ARE really silly looking actor shots-- but I LOVE the new lettering and how the scenes blend together and everything. It does feel like they're ignoring a lot from the earlier seasons, though. I couldn't believe how gorgeous Annette looks in the credits, YOW. And Allison's eyes? I am so jealous... Woo! I'm not so sure about the Tom with stubble, though-- we never see his character with stubble because, well, um, he kind of never has explained how he gets rid of it yet (it's covered in "Lois & Clark" though)...... We've never seen his character with stubble, ever. So even though he looks HOT with stubble, I don't think it makes sense to have it in his "glamor shot." It'd be like if they had Michael Rosenbaum with hair in HIS glamor shot-- we've never seen the character like that, so it shouldn't be in the credits. Or maybe I'm too picky.

I really cannot categorize the new credit sequences as "better" or "worse." It was just different, is all. However, it was a different that I didn't particularly care for.

I thought the initial title sequence was very "comic booky," which strikes me as odd given Al's statements. Also, the space, meteorites CGI wasn't outstanding. (I've seen better in Japanese animes.)

I did very much like the shots of the actors. Isn't a cast just pretty? The entire lot of them. They're beautiful people, not just by WB standards, either. (Must mention, AM took my breath away. The woman was gorgeous and I say this because she is not always made up to look that phenomenal, despite her natural beauty.) However, I've yet to grasp why we've been given what seems to be publicity shots of the actors, not in character, during the sequences. I imagine it to be a bit a device to draw in more viewers (using the pretty to its fullest.) Still, it doesn't take a lot to make TW handsome. Could they not have kept the Clark Kent attire and left the stubble?

Lastly, the actual intercutted scenes themselves didn't seem all that fluid, IMO. Perhaps it will just take some time getting used to. The images look cool (I think I recall a close-up of Chloe's eye(s)), but, all together, I think they're kinda choppy.

Actually, I agree - sort of. ED should definitely be listed after AM, but before the older cast members, to keep a continuity going. But I don't have the power to make such decisions.

Personally, I DIDN'T like the new lettering (too narrow and dark) OR the shattering pieces of scene images flying towards the viewer (sort of confusing) OR most of the Glamor shots.
I was very glad to see a better shot of Allison Mack and especially the new shot of Annette O'Toole since she was complaining about her Titles shot during her commentary on "Crusade" in the Season 4 DVD set.
I was sorry to see the weathervane image not be used behind John Schneider as in every other season (Jonathan Kent being the reliable compass in Clark's life).

and KK's name!???!!??? Good GRIEF!
At least a few extra people will be watching the titles next week just to see if they fixed it!

You saw the freakin hair blowing back, it looked like the normal wb commericals showing the cast members in like great model poses. Other than that i liked it, except i was expecting maybe little clips from season 5 like they did last year with the season 4 intro. It's just gonna take me some time.

I loved the new design and graphics of the new credits, however; it was just way too short which made me frustrated. I'm starring at one shot, and I can barely process what it is being shown. IMO Many of the stars close-up shots were shortened than others. I mean I love the design, and the glamour shots of the actors(they all looked terrific) it was just way too short.

I totally agree (in fact, I said something similar on a similar thread, but this seems to be the more popular). I'm glad they've got new poses for Annette and Allison, but Kristin's pose has her almost looking at herself as if to think "Look how beautiful I am" (that said though, I'd agree with her...). They could've used a couple more Lionel shots as well; his background shot while he's posing is a side of a building which may or may not be Luthorcorp.
Plus, it seemed like Tom didn't get as much time as he should've, for his intro they showed the shot of him saving the kid, of which, half of that time was him running to the kid. Allison had a pretty short clip as well, compared to Erica's 2. [/ranting]
Did I mention how hot Allison looked in it? For good measure, I'll say it anyway; she looked amazing.

I don't like them. I didn't like the way the letters came onto the screen, the way the actors turned to the camera-it looked like profiles of video game characters. It looked a bit too animated. I think they should have used the same style of the old credits, but used different clips.

We've wondered since the beginning why KK gets 2nd billing when one would think Superman and Lex Luthor would be the main focus of "Smallville." But the WB established "The Big Three" from the very beginning, and they did the boy-girl-boy thingy. I guess if they didn't do it that way it would be boy (TW) boy (MR) girl (KK) girl (ED) girl (AM)... And that's too many girls in a row who might get inappropriate. ;)

I don't think it's a boy girl thing. It is based upon what their agents negotiated before the show started. KK got the female lead and so she got to be second only to Clark, which probably made sense to people b/c TheWb (at the time) was mostly geared towards young girls and had shows with female leads generally.

Why did they change the Commencement scene where Clark protects the boy from the meteors? In the episode Clark is superspeeding towards the boy before he grabs him, but in the new opening sequence he comes from the side and you never see him approaching.

After seeing the new opening a few times I can say that I like the original sequence better. The new glamour shots are good and of course it was time for an update, but the new sequence feels hurried. Also the shots viewed through the Smallville letters is disconcerting.

True you don't see him approaching but we only see a couple seconds of that clip. I don't think it's a big deal. :)

It will take some getting used to, but it rocks. I'm glad they didn't change the song though, I think that would be weird.

It's alphabetical order for all the creditss, Tom then after him Kristn and Michael are in alphabetical, then it starts with Erica, and Allison who are also in alphabetical, then John Glover, Annette and John Schneider all in alphabetical

the song will always remind me of the show. I feels sorry for Remey Zero, if they ever get back together, thats probably the only song they are known for, I wonder if they get royalty checks, everytime it plays

This is absolutely The Greatest opening sequence of The entire serie :)


--> Firstly, Clark's "stopping & crashing car" scene which is wonderful choice for him,


--> then Lana's incredibly pretty look (which I liked A LOT)


--> and of course The Famous Sword scene between Lex and Clark,

which is such a stunning moment for Lex (Top 3 IMO)



--> and finally Lionel's look... the camera turning around him,

and he looks at us, as if he is on something evil to do or plan, just like the old days...

which is sooooo cool and charismatic :)




Overall,

The opening sequence gathers all the brilliant pieces of scenes from several seasons,

with some additional charming poses (Lana & Lionel & Clark & Lex)

So This is The BEST OPENING SEQUENCE of all seasons :)
