Splinter Part 3

"What do you mean he's not himself?" Lana asked.

"The meteor rock Lex gave you affected him. It's making him paranoid and if we don't find a cure soon, it might be too late." Chloe said.

"Go, i'll have a talk with Lex." Lana said sternly.

*Lex's mansion.*

Lana storms into Lex's office with the rock in hand. "You just couldn't stand for us to be happy could you?" Lana asked upset.

"What are you talking about Lana?" Lex asked.

"You sent me this rock for a reason, because you knew it could infect whoever was pricked by it. You also text messaged Clark to come over to my dorm at the exact same time i received it, so it would infect him." Lana said angrily at Lex.

"Lana, whatever is going on right now. I promise I had nothing to do with it. Is Clark okay?" Lex asked.

"No, he was infected by this rock and now he's paranoid. So, you have no idea what's happening?" Lana asked skeptically.

"No, i don't, but I want to help. I'll have my scientist check out this rock and have experimented on. Until then, I think it would be best if we stayed here." Lex told her.

"Okay, thanks for helping." Lana said realizing she really doesn't have a choice, she has to help Clark.

"You're my partner, off course i'd help you." Lex said placing a hand on her arm, trying to comfort her. Clark superspeeds in front of Lex's mansion and see's that.

*Clark's hallacination.*

"Clark's an alien and I will protect you from him." Lex tells Lana.

"Thank you Lex." Lana says as they lean into kiss and when they're done they hug, as Lana looks at Clark. Clark stares on in disbelief.

*End of hallacination.*

The electricity goes out on the mansion. "What's going on?" Lana asked.

"I don't know, i'll go check, stay here." Lex says, slowly walking out of his study. It's all dark in the hallway, when Lex sees one of his guards knocked out. He touches his pulse, he's still alive, Lex grabs his gun and when he turns around he sees Clark.

"I should have known all along." Clark says focused completely on Lex.

"Clark, you're sick, you need help." Lex says pointing the gun at him as Clark shows no fear.

"All these years I thought you were only curious. I thought it was just about finding out the truth, but I was wrong." Clark says.

"What are you talking about?" Lex asked.

"It was all to get to her. You thought that if she knew the truth, she wouldn't love me, she'd love you. You did it to get to her." Clark tells him as Lex looks on, knowing that's partly true.

"Clark, don't move, you need help." Lex says pointing the gun at Clark, but Clark smirks. He knocks the gun out of Lex's hand, grabs him by the throat and throws him into the wall. Lana hears this and hurries down to the basement.

"Lana!" Clark yells going into the study, then he see's the open basement door and superspeeds down there. Lana is trying to hide. "Lana, whatever he told you isn't true. We're meant to be together, you know that." Clark said looking for her, then he used his x-ray vision to find her. He picked her up from where he was hiding.

"Clark, you need help." Lana said looking scared.

"No, I don't, i'm seeing things clearly now. Don't worry, Lex can't hurt you anymore." Clark told her.

"What did you do to him?" Lana asked afraid of his answer.

"Why do you love him?" Clark asked getting upset.

"I don't, i love you." Lana said, surprised by the question.

"You kissed him." Clark said.

"No, i would never do that." Lana told him.

"Lair." Clark said as he grabbed her throat and lifted her in the air.

"Clark, no..." Lana said gasping for air.

"Put her down." Fine said as Clark turned to him. Clark released Lana, knocking her out.

"Professor? What are you doing here?" Clark asked.

"Trying to stop you from making a mistake. Killing Lana would destroy you." He said.

"Well, it's too late." Clark said, then superspeeded toward Fine, but he superspeeded out of the way.

"I think we need to talk, Kal-el." Fine said as Clark looked on surprised.

"Keeping secrets professor?" Clark said with a smirk as he punch Fine into a bunch of boxes. However, Fine used a powerful burst of heat vision and knocked Clark down. He then held him down and used a sucking device, to suck the splinter of silver kryponite out of Clark. Lex and his secruity guys then came down as Clark held Lana in his arms.

"What have you done?" Lex asked as Clark turned around with tears in his eyes, holding lifeless Lana.

Splinter Part 3

*Smallville Medical Center.*

Clark looks into Lana's hospital room, she and Chloe are talking. Chloe see's Clark and leaves the room. "How is she?" Clark asked.

"A little shaken up, i mean you did almost choke her to death." Chloe said as Clark turned away. "But I know it wasn't your fault." Chloe said trying to comfort him.

"That's what I keep trying to tell myself, but it doesn't seem to be working." Clark said sadly.

"Go talk to her." Chloe told him.

"She probably doesn't even want to see him." Clark said dejected.

"Off course she wants to see, she just wants to know what happen." Chloe told him, as Clark nodded.

"I don't even know if I can face her." Clark told her.

"You can't keep running away from your mistakes, because some day they'll catch up to you and you'll regret it. Now go!" Chloe told him. Clark took a deep breath and went in.

"Are you feeling better?" Lana asked.

"I should be asking you that question." Clark said seriously.

"Just a few cuts and bruises, nothing big." Lana said trying to down play it.

"Yeah......" Clark said sadly.

"I don't understand how the meteor rock could make you do that and not infect anyone else." Lana said.

"Neither do I....." Clark lied.

"Is that the truth?" Lana asked.

"You don't believe me?" Clark asked.

"I know that look Clark. I think you know more nothing." Lana said.

"Lana....." Clark began to say.

"Clark, today was the most frighten day of my life. The one person I loved most in the world was choking me to death. I want to understand how it could make you do that and do all the other strange things you've done in the past. Like when you were in Metropolis or when we went to that bar. Let me understand." Lana pleaded.

"I DON'T WANT YOU TO UNDERSTAND." Clark yelled emtionally as Lana looked surprised. "I can't let you get you hurt. Understanding what goes on in my life comes with a price, a price that parent have paid for every day of their life. I......I can't let you pay that price." Clark said getting up and walking toward the door.

"Clark, please, just tell me the truth. If have ever loved me and if this meant anything to you, then you'd tell me." Lana told him as he had his back turned to her. Clark leaned his head softly up against the door.

"It means everything to me." Clark told her.

"Then please, don't shut me out anymore." Lana pleaded.

"It was silver kryponite." He told her.

"What?" Lana asked, still with tears in her eyes.

"You'd call it a silver meteor rock, but it's really silver kryponite. That's because........It's from krypton, a planet which remains crashed her when you were four." Clark told her as Lana remembered that day like it was yesterday. It was the day of the first meteor shower.

Splinter Part 4

"How could you know that Clark?" Lana asked, not preparing for the answer she would receive.

"I know that..........Because I'm krypton and I came down in a ship, during the meteor shower. I was just four years old." Clark told her, hoping that would show her it wasn't his fault. Lana look at him in shock, trying to take in what he just said.

"That would mean......" Lana started to say, but trailed off.

"Yep, i'm an alien from another planet." Clark finished her sentence as Lana stared back at him.

"I don't know what to say." Lana told him.

"It's okay, I just thought you deserved to hear the truth this time." Clark told her.

"Was that your secret, everything you've been hiding from me for years?" Lana asked.

"Yes and everything that goes with it." Clark told her.

"Why didn't you tell me before?" Lana asked.

"Many reasons....." Clark said turning away.

"Tell me, please." Lana asked.

"Lana...." Clark said, trailing off.

"I really want to know." Lana pleaded with him.

"Okay." Clark paused, looking into eyes. "I want to believe that it was, because I wanted to protect you and it was. I've seen my family and everyone else who knows my secret suffer the consequences. My dad is having heart problems, because of it, my mom lost her baby, because of it. There were many other times when they were hurt by someone who was trying to expose me, they are always trying to protect me and my secret. They would never admit it, but I know it's hard on them, having to go through this, because of me. Then there's Pete, you know the real reason why he left?" Clark asked, Lana shook her head. "He left, because the burden of my secret became too much for him. He was my brother, I loved him and he left, because of my secret. I would never be able to live with myself if you got hurt, because of that. This is my secret and the ones I love, will always be the ones who pay." Clark took a breath as Lana could tell he wasn't done. He just wanted her to take in that part of it.

"Go on...." She said, holding back the tears.

"To be honest, I also was afraid you would reject me. As of right now, I don't even know what you're thinking or how you feel now. I guess you could say i'm as scared as ever right now, because now you know and I have no idea what your reaction is. All these years I've tried to picture this moment, tried to convince myself that there is a chance you'd accept me for who I am. I never thought I could take that chance, not with you. You were too important for me to lose like that, even though your safety was still more important to me. I don't know how I could go on, if the girl I loved most in the world thought I was a monster and couldn't love an alien. Over the years every time it seemed to get easier, it just got harder. The fear always stayed there and got bigger ever time I thought about telling you. I am coward." Clark said getting angry at himself.

"Clark....." Lana started, but Clark cut her off.

"No it's true, I am a coward. I always run away when things get hard, I always back off and pretend everything is going to be okay, but it isn't." Clark told her.

"Then why this time?" Lana asked.

"Because I thought I was going to lose you again and I couldn't do that. My love for you has always been the strongest thing in me and that's why I told you." Clark paused. "Just so you know, it was never about trust, not for one second, did I think that i couldn't trust you." Clark said as he turned to the door, Lana looking sad and surprised at the same time.

"Where are you going?" Lana asked.

"Probably be a good idea to let you get some rest." Clark told her.

"I.....Clark...." Lana trying to find the words and unable to do so.

"It's a lot to take in, I know and I want you to have that chance to do so." Clark said, then went up to her and kissed her on the forehead. "I love you and I always will." He sincerely told her and then walked out the door.

"I love you too." Lana said as she looked sadly at the door.

*Kent's house.*

Clark walks in, with his head down. His parents come up to him. "How is she?" Martha asked.

"Okay, just a little shaken up and confused." Clark told them.

"Well, i don't think she would ever expect you to do what you did Clark. I'm sure she'll get over it." Martha told him.

"She's not confused about that mom, she's more confused about something else." Clark told her.

"Then what could it be?" Martha asked as Clark gave them the "she knows" look.

"CLARK, you didn't, did you?" Jonathon asked.

"I did." Clark told him.

"So now Chloe and Lana know? How many more people do you plan on telling?" Jonathon asked upset.

"I had to tell her." Clark told him.

"Oh, you had to tell her...? Come on Clark!' Jonathon scolded.

"Dad, I really don't feel like doing this with me. I love her and I owe it to her. It was my decision and I made it." Clark firmly stated.

"Welll..." Jonathon began, but Martha interupted.

"Clark, why don't you go to the loft. Me and your father need to talk." Martha told him.

"Okay." Clark said as Martha placed her hand on his shoulder and smiled. Clark walked out.

"Martha, he can't just keep telling everyone. Sooner or later it's going to come back and bite us in the butt." Jonathon told her.

"Jonathon, I saw the look in his eyes. It was very hard for him to finally be open with Lana. He loves her as much as you love me. He took a chance tonight, revealing his secret and hoping she will accept him. The last he needs is us yelling at him and questioning his judgement, when he's doing the same himself. Right now, he needs love," Martha told Jonathon.

"You're right." Jonathon said nodding his head.

*Clark's loft.*

Fine is standing by the window. "Hello, Kal-el." Fine said.

"So I didn't hallacinate that part." Clark said.

"No you didn't." Fine told him.

"You know, i was told that I was the last son of Krypton. Yet, all you Kryptonians keep showing up." Clark told him.

"What can I say? It's hard to eliminate a superior race like ours." Fine told him.

"So, when were you planning on telling me who you really were?" Clark questioned.

"When I studied you enough and knew how much this world has influenced you. Which it has significantly." Fine told him

"What does that mean?" Clark asked.

"You have too many human emtions, you act just like them. You've become to attached, you love them." Fine told him.

"Who's to say that's a bad thing?" Clark asked.

"Kal-el, we are superior, these humans are flawed." Fine told him.

"I know they're flawed, but I love them." Clark told him.

"Very well, Kal-el. I'll be watching." Fine said and then left.

Splinter Part 5

*Kent House, the next day.*

Clark walks down for breakfast, even though he's really not hungry. It's saturday, no school, but he figured he would start early today and spend time thinking, mostly about Lana. Martha hands him a plate of food. "How are you feeling?" Martha asked as Clark shrugged his shoulders.

"I've been better." Clark told her as she placed her hand on his shoulder.

"I know how hard it was for you tell Lana your secret and so does your dad, he just overreacted last night." Martha told him.

"Thanks mom, it was the hardest thing i've ever had to do in life." Clark sincerely told her.

"How did she take it?" Martha asked.

"I really didn't give a chance to react. I just told her why I never told her before and who I really am. Then i kissed her on the head, told her I loved her and always would, before I left. I thought she needed to have time to think it over." Clark told her.

"I've known Lana for a long time now and there's not a doubt in my mind that she will accept you." Martha said trying to cheer him up.

"That's been my wish ever since I found out who I was, but i've never known any of my wishes to come true." Clark told her and turned dejectedly away as Martha didn't know what to say.

*Lana and Chloe's dorm room.*

Lana is sitting on her bed, looking out the window as Chloe walks in. "Hey." Chloe says as Lana slowly turns around.

"Hey." Lana replies.

"How did it go yesterday?" Chloe asked.

"I think there's a word in the english dictionary that could describe how yesterday went." Lana told her.

"Does that classify as good or bad?" Chloe said with a grin.

"You've known all along haven't you?" Lana asked as Chloe looked confused.

"Known what?" Chloe asked.

"About Clark's secret." Lana told her.

"Ummm....no, I haven't." Chloe said, which is partly true, she's only known for a year.

"He told me yesterday." Lana told her.

"Oh, how did you react?" Chloe asked.

"I never really got the chance to. He told me I should rest and it was a lot to take in, so he say I should get the chance to." Lana told her.

"So, what is your reaction?" Chloe asked.

"I don't know yet. It's the usual head vs. heart battle going on inside of me. Heart says he's still the same man i've always, he's just more special than I thought. Then my head says, he's a stranger, someone who I never really knew." Lana said as she stared out the window.

"Just for the record Lana, he never told me, I found out and the same goes with Pete. The only person he ever really wanted to tell, was you." Chloe told her as Lana nodded.

"I need to talk a drive." Lana said as she got up and left.

*Kent's barn.*

Clark and Jonathon are stacking hay, when Jonathon turns to Clark. "Listen son, i'm sorry for how i reacted last night. I forgot how hard it was for you to keep your secret from the people closes to you, especially Lana. Your mother and I have also decided that i'm not going to run for senator. It's too much of a risk for you." Jonathon told him.

"Dad, it's okay, on both fronts. I think you should run, it's about time we had an honest person in our government." Clark said with a smile.

"Are you sure?" Jonathon asked.

"I'm positive." Clark told him as Lex walked in.

"Hope i'm not interupting." Lex said as he walked in.

"Nope, but I was just about to go back inside, so I'll leave you two alone." Jonathon said as he pat Clark on the back and then left.

"Is it safe to be alone with you?" Lex grinned.

"Yeah." Clark smiled.

"I don't understand how that could happen to you Clark." Lex said to him.

"I don't understand why you had the rock to begin with." Clark told him.

"Clark, I never had the rock and I wasn't the one who sent it to Lana." Lex sincerely told him.

"I hope not, I really do." Clark said staring Lex in the eye.

"Take care of yourself care." Lex said as he walked out, Clark staring at the ground as he does.

*Later that night.*

Clark is looking at the stars from his loft. "I always wondered how this day would go." Lana said walking up the stair.s

"Lana." Clark said as he turned around to see her.

"I always wondered how it would be, when you finally opened up to me. Guess I don't have to wonder anymore." Lana said letting out a small laugh.

"No, you don't." Clark told her as they came face to face.

"A day later and I still don't know what to say." Lana told him.

"Just tell me how you feel." Clark told her.

"Tell you?" Lana gazed into his eyes, finally making up her mind. "I'll show you." She said as she kissed him lightly on his lips, allowing hers to just lay on his as they embraced each other.

Splinter Part 6

"That was the reaction I've wished for my entire life." Clark said smiling as Lana returned the smile.

"So, you thought I wouldn't accept you?" Lana asked.

"It's not that I didn't, it was just that I was so afraid you wouldn't, like I explained at the hospital. Also, because it was my fault your parents died." Clark told her.

"Clark, you were four years old, never believe that it was your fault, I don't. Also you're from another planet or not, that doesn't change who you are on the inside. That is the man I fell in love with." Lana told him.

"If it's possible i think I just fell in love with you even more." Clark said as Lana let out a small smile.

"There's still so much to talk about Clark." Lana told him.

"I know, it's just kind of hard to know where we're starting from." Clark told her.

"How about from the beginning?" Lana said grinning.

"Or we could go back to all the times you questoned me and I could give you the answers this time." Clark suggested.

"Sounds good to me." Lana said, as she began to think. "Let's start out with this, why were you crying in the graveyard at the beginning of freshmen year?" Lana asked.

"My dad had just told me I was from another planet. He actually had just shown me my spaceship as well." Clark told her as Lana nodded.

"During sophmore year, you took to the bar on our date, then dumped me for Jesse. The next day, you came and apologize to me, you said you weren't yourself. Explain that, please." Lana asked, all of a sudden becoming upset again, just thinking of that.

"It was red kryponite or a red meteor rock. If you remember that day, we got class rings and they were made from red kryponite. Once a put it on, it changed me, I had no sense of right and wrong, it also made me do things i'd never do. Sort of like a alternate Clark. Oh and I had it on when I was in Metropolis when I ran away. I could have never walked away from you otherwise." Clark told her as Lana had to take a couple seconds after becoming emtional.

"Ummm....That makes sense. Before you went to Metropolis, you said it was your fault your mom's baby died. How could it have been your fault?" Lana asked.

"This kind of a long one, but it here it goes. I destroyed my spaceship in my parents storm celler. My biological father, Jor-el, told me I had to leave the ones I love and start my journey. Off course I didn't want to you or my parents. That's what was bothering me when were having our picnic under the tree and before you left for the wedding. I was backed up into a corner and I made a bad choice. My parents were coming back from the wedding and their truck crashed. When I got them to the hospital it was too late, my mom lost the baby." Clark told her, before turning away in pain.

"There's no way you could have none that would happen." She said putting her hand on his shoulder.

"But I should of, but back the questions." Clark said as Lana nodded.

"Okay, how did you get from the student center to the storage place so fast, before Adam shoot me?" Lana asked.

"Superspeed, it's one of my abilities and i'm sure you'll find out more with each question." Clark told as Lana gave him a wide eyed look.

"Ahh, okay. The fire that was started at the Talon our sophmore year and the one that started on the first day of school. Was that you?" She asked.

"Yep, it's heat vision. I didn't quite know how to use it back then, you can blame yourself for th fire at the Talon." He told her.

"Why is that?" Lana asked.

"Because you're incredibly beautiful and heat vision.....welll......it comes from sexual thoughts." Clark said blushing.

"Really? So if i did this?" Lana went up to him and nibbled on his ear. "We could start a fire?" She asked. "Or what if I did this." She said as she kissed his neck.

"Lana....oooo..." Clark mumbled she he frantically blinked his eyes, until he shot a small blash of fire of the window.

"Wow, that was hott." Lana said seducetively.

"Yeah, i don't think it's something you want to do when we're......you know..." Clark said hinting at sex.

"I guess not. Okay, back to the questions. Were you in the truck during the tornato?" Lana asked.

"I was, i'm bullet proof, my body is made of steel. I can't be hurt by anything, except green Kryponite." Clark told her as she placed her hand on his cheek.

"Green mete....I mean green kryponite hurts you. Clark, I'm so sorry, no wonder you couldn't go near me without feeling sick, my neckalace. I can't believe I was hurting you, how could you ever love me?" Lana asked putting her head in her hands.

"It was easy, you're smart, caring and senstive. Not to mention you're more beautiful than a summer morning. I'm the one who's from another a planet." Clark told her.

"I don't care where you came from Clark, as long as you came. My life would mean nothing without you." She told him as they shared a deep kiss.

"So you know about my superspeed, heat vision and body of steel." Clark said.

"Clark, how did you get up in the truck, is another question. Can you fly?" Lana asked.

"No, I can't, but I think i'm capable of it. I don't how I got to you in the truck, I just knew I had to get there. The only thing that was going through my mind was to save you." He told her as she looked at him adoringly.

"Is there anything else you can do?" Lana asked.

"I have super strength and super hearing." Clark told her.

"That does explain some other things. It's go to know I have my own personal hero. Maybe he'll give me a show of all his new powers." Lana said.

"For you? Anytime, he said smiling." Clark told her as she smiled.

"One more question though, remember last year when I came to your barn, after you saw me and Jason together. You forced kissed me, were you on red k that time?" Lana asked.

"No, it actually really wasn't me at all. It was Lionel, our body's were transformed, when Lionel touched me with the transference stone. Lionel saw you and Jason, as well as forced kissed you." Clark told her.

"Ewwww, i really didn't want to know that." She said shaking her shoulders.

"There's one more, that i forget to mention." He said twitching his thumbs.

"Which one is that?" Lana asked.

"X-ray vision..." Clark said slightly turning his head away from Lana.

"So you can see through things, like clothes for example?" Lana asked.

"Yeah, but i never did that to you. At least not intentionally." Clark told her.

"Clark! Does that mean you ever did?" Lana asked with her hands folded.

"Only when I couldn't control it and when I was on Red K. I would never invade your privacy like that, even if i was very, very tempted to." Clark explained.

"I believe you and it's okay, if I had X-ray vision i'd be tempted too." She said smiling seducetively.

"Lana, I have a question for you." Clark said.

"What is it?" Lana asked.

"When you came to the barn on the day of the meteor shower. You gave me a stone, it had blood on it, what happen?" Clark asked as Lana turned away, walking toward the window.

Splinter Part 7

Lana stared out the window, looking at the stars as Clark looked nervously at her. He had no idea what to expect. "Lana, you know you can tell me anything." Clark told her.

"I know, i'm just afraid of how you'll react." Lana told him.

"Been there, done that." Clark said smiling, trying to loosen Lana up.

"Right.......Clark, the night before the meteor shower, Jason's mom came to my apartment. She pulled a gun on me, ordering me to give her the stone I had." She told him, clearly getting Clark's attention, then she continued. "I gave her the stone, but kicked the gun out of her hand. We struggled to the floor and the last thing i remember was her choking me. Then I woke up and I had the stone in my head as Jason's mom, laid there dead. I killed her, Clark and worst of all, I didn't even go to the police." Lana told him as Clark brought her into his arms.

"It's okay, I'm here. Did you say the last thing you remembered was being choked? Which means you don't remember killing her?" Clark asked.

"Yes." Lana said, still embracing Clark.

"It was Isabel then. Remember, how every time Isabel controlled you, you never remembered anything you did?" Clark asked.

"You're right, it was her, but I still shouldn't have covered it up." Lana said with tears in her eyes.

"You did what you thought was best. I'm not too sure that telling the police a witch posessed you, would get you off free. She tried to kill you Lana, i'm glad Isabel was there." Clark told her.

"There's more, Lex is the one who helped me get off. When you came in my hospital room the day of the meteor shower, i was reading the paper and there was a message on it. It said, You owe me one, signed L. I think Lex wrote that, I don't know what it means." Lana said looking afraid.

"Whatever it means, we'll handle it together. I won't let anything happen to you." Clark told her.

"Also, when you came to see me in my dorm room yesterday, when you were infected by the sliver kryponite, I was looking at meteors on my laptop." Lana told him.

"Why were you doing that?" Clark asked.

"I just wanted to know why. Why did these things happen and I needed the truth. Which is also why I was going to help Lex uncover the secrets of the ship. I just needed the answers, if i knew it involved you I never would have done anything. I'm sorry Clark, I'm so sorry." She said breaking into sobs as Clark held her tighter.

"It's okay, it doesn't change anything between us. You wanted the truth, because I pushed you away and wouldn't give it to you. I don't blame you, whatever we both have done, it's in the past and we can start new as of right now. However, Lex is a problem and I don't know what he wants. All I know is, that it involves you and me." Clark told her, stroking her hair for comfort.

"Why are our lives so complicated Clark?" Lana asked.

"I don't know, but now we're finally completely honest with each other, our lives just got better." He said smiling to her.

"I love you Clark." She said kissing him deeply on the lips.

"I love you too, but there's more I need to show you." Clark said, picking up Lana into his arms.

"Let's go." She said smiling as Clark superspeed to the caves. "What are we doing here?" Lana asked.

"I'm showing you about my heritage. These caves are all about me and krypton." He told her, taking her hand and guiding her through the cave. "All of these are Kryptonians symbols." Clark told her.

"What does this one mean?" Lana asked pointing to the two-headed monster.

"That symbol represents Namaan and Segeeth. They were two best friends, who became enemies..." Clark said as he trailed off.

"You don't think that's you and Lex, do you?" Lana asked.

"I do, even though I've tried to fight that thought for as long as i've known about that symbol." Clark told her.

"How about that symbol?" Lana asked pointing to the one of the girl.

"That's the girl that Namaan is destined to be with." Clark told her.

"Do you know who it is?" Lana asked as Clark turned Lana, taking her hands in his.

"I'm hoping it's you and I always have." Clark told her as Lana looked surprised.

"I don't even kn.......Wait a minute, you're Namaan?" Lana asked.

"I am." Clark said as Lana smiled.

"I would love to be that girl, then." She said as Clark smiled and gave her a small kiss.

"There's one last thing I need to show you." Clark said as he brought her into the chamber.

"What is this Clark?" She asked touching the table.

"It's where I could talk to my father, my real father. I would place a key in that slot." Clark said pointing toward the slot. "Then, after a unighted the stones, I would be able to transport from here to the artic with this key." Clark told her as Lana looked confused.

"Why would you need to go to the artic?" Lana asked.

"That's where my fortress of Solitude is. The place where I can learn about my heritage, talk to my father and train." Clark told her.

"Can I see it?" Lana asked hopefully.

"It's not safe yet, it's too cold for you to go. The cold doesn't affect me." Clark told her.

"Oh, well, will I ever be able to see it?" Lana asked.

"Definitly, I mean, it is very private." Clark said smiling seducetively as Lana return it, when one her own.

"I can't wait, but Clark I have another question. You said you were made of steel, then how could we have sex?" Lana asked caustiously.

"It was because I was mortal at the time. I defied Jor-el and because of it, I lost my powers. Then, when I was dead, he brought me back to life and along with getting my life back, i got my powers back. Which pretty much means we can't have sex anymore." Clark said sadly, remembering Jor-el's words from that day.

"Is there anything else Clark?" She asked.

"That's it." Clark said lying, he still wasn't ready to tell anyone about what Jor-el told him.

"Alright, now that we're done with this. We can get on with the important things." Lana told him.

"Like what?" Clark asked.

"This." Lana said kissing him passionately on the lips as Clark returned it.

Solitude Part 1

"Wow, so he's really like you?" Lana asked over the phone as Clark sat in a chair, in the Kent's kitchen.

"Yep, he has all the same powers as me and everything. You should probably thank him when you meet him, he was the one who saved me from silver kryponite." Clark told her.

"I will, but do you think he's on our side?" Lana asked.

"What do you mean?" Clark asked, not knowing what she meant.

"Well, do you think he has your best interests at heart? I don't know if I trust him." Lana told him.

"Lana he's been there for me every time I needed help. Do you not trust him, because he's from another planet?" Clark asked.

"No, it's not that, because I know someone from another planet who I trust completely. It's just that, I don't know, call it a bad
feeling." Lana told him.

"I understand, just try and give him a chance, for me." Clark asked her.

"Okay." Lana replied.

"Do you want to go out tonight?" Clark asked.

"I think i'm worn out from last week." Lana told him, as Clark and
Lana had explored Clark's powers all week. Having walks through yellow stone park, picnics under waterfalls and enjoying the view off the top of the empire state building. It had been the best week of their lives, but Lana was only human. She needed some rest.

"Are you sure?" Clark asked.

"Positive, besides, I do need my beauty sleep." Lana said jokingly.

"Beauty sleep? Lana you could never sleep again and still be the most beautiful women in the world to me." Clark told her as Lana's blush could be felt through the phone. Clark smiled.

"I really am tired though, so could you give me a goodnight kiss?" Lana asked.

"Absolutely." Clark said, before superspeeding to Lana's dorm, giving her a quick, but sweet kiss on the lips. Then Clark returned home to the phone.

"Mmmmm, thanks handsome." Lana said, still with her eyes closed.

"Anytime, now get some sleep." Clark told her.

"I will, bye." Lana said.

"Bye." Clark said as he hung up and smiled widely at his new relationship with the girl he loved. It was almost like he lost his powers and it was summer again. This is the relationship he always wanted. Not just because he didn't have to keep secrets, but because he didn't have to keep secrets from the only girl he ever truly loved.

*Outside the Kent house.*

Martha and Shelby are walking along the gate. "Come on Shelby." Martha said as Shelby quickly followed, when a bolt of black lightning hit Martha, knocking her to the ground. Clark heard this and came rushing outside.

"Mom, are you okay?" Clark asked concerned.

"I'm fine, what happen?" Martha said as Clark looked worriedly at her and then toward the sky.

*The Daily Planet, the next day.*

"Did you find anything?" Clark asked.

"What is there to find?" Chloe asked.

"Chloe, my mom was hit my lightning bolt and it wasn't raining. There must be a reason for that." Clark said getting annoyed.

"Clark, your mother is fine, isn't that all that matters?" Chloe asked.

"It is, but I can't help but thinking something else is going on here." Clark told her.

"Then what is it?" Chloe asked.

"I don't know." Clark said, but lied.

"Let it go then. Remember, you should be all smiles, considering the fact you told Lana everything and she accepted you. Live it up." Chloe said, trying to cheer him up.

"You're right, thanks. I'll see you later, I have class." Clark said, then left.

*Fine's classroom.*

"Nothing is always what it seems. If history has taught us anything, it taught us that. No one thought Hitler could rule a country or threaten the world. They thought he was an idiot, incapable of such things, yet what did he do? The same was said of Stalin, he was an idot, but he still ruled Russia with an Iron fist and threaten the world. The point is, never doubt what's right in front of your face. Don't be stupid enough to believe someone isn't capable of doing what these guys did. They could be right in front of you and you wouldn't even know it. That's all for today, make sure you read your notes." Fine said as Clark looked thoughtfully into space, thinking about what Fine said. Finally he snapped out of it and began to walk out of the room before Fine stopped him. "Something bothering you, Kal-el?" Fine asked once the room was clear.

"No, well, actually yes. My mother was hit by lightning yesterday, yet she didn't get hurt nor does she remember it." Clark told him.

"Hmmmm, sounds like something i remember from Krypton. It involves Jor-el." Fine told Clark.

"What is it?" Clark asked.

"You're not ready for me to tell you. Plus, i could be wrong, does your mother have any marks?" Fine asked.

"No." Clark told him.

"Then I could be wrong, but if she does, come find me." Fine told him.

"I will." Clark said as Fine walked away, leaving Clark to ponder what he said.

*Daily Planet.*

Lionel walks in with flowers. "You've finally made it." He says to Chloe as she looks less than thrilled to see him.

"Yep and I did it on my own." She said.

"Indeed you have and I had no doubts that would. Now it's just a matter of time before you make it to the top. I've just come to congradulate you." He said handing her the flowers as she looks on skeptically.

"Now we both know each other I little better than that. Why are you really here?" She asked folding her arms.

"I've come to you with a story." Lionel said.

"Okay, what makes you think i'd take it?" Chloe asked.

"Because I know your thirst for the truth and for the big story." Lionel told her.

"You have one minute." Chloe said.

"There's someone at Central Kansas with extrodinary abilites. None like you could ever imagine. This person can shoot fire from their eyes and run faster than time." Lionel told her as Chloe began to think of Clark. "His name is Milton Fine." Lionel said as Chloe breathed a sign of relief inside her head.

"Is there any proof?" Chloe asked.

"If there was, then there would be no need for investigative reporting." Lionel replied.

"Why did you come to me with this?" Chloe asked.

"Because frankly, I didn't think Time Magazine would be interested." Lionel said.

"Okay, i'll look into it." Chloe told him.

"Excellent, I knew you wouldn't let me down Ms. Sullivan." Lionel said before leaving.

Solitude Part2

*Kent House.*

Clark and Jonathon are sitting at the table, in the Kent's kitchen as Martha is making coffee. "Are you telling me he's from Krypton?" Joanthon asked.

"Yep, he has all the powers as me." Clark told them.

"We've seen meteor infected people have those kind of powers too. That doesn't mean anything." Martha told Clark.

"Mom, he knows my name........my other name. How else could he know that, if he wasn't from Krypton?" Clark asked.

"I don't know son, but I think it's a good idea for you to stay clear of him." Jonathon said.

"But dad, what if he could help me find more things about Krypton and it's history?" Clark asked him.

"Clark, we don't know enough about him yet and until we do, i think you should give him some space." Jonathon told him.

"He's right sweetheart, we haven't had good luck dealing with people who are from Krypton or claim to be." Martha said as grab the kettle, then her hands began to shake and she dropped the kettle to the ground.

"Mom!" Clark said as, he and Jonathon hurried over to Martha.

"Martha, what is it?" Jonathon asked worried.

"My arms, it's burning." Martha told them, she Jonathon ripped the selve of the shirt off, exposed a red mark. They all exchanged looks.

*Smallville Medical Center.*

Clark is waiting in the hallway as Lana comes from the elavator and they hug. "How is she?" Lana says as they break their hug.

"The doctors are looking at her now." Clark told Lana.

"What happen?" Lana asked concerned.

"We were just talking in the kitchen, when she went to take the coffee off and then she began to shake. She said her arm was burning and my dad ripped off her selve, there was a red mark." Clark told her.

"That's strange, how could that just happen?" Lana asked confused.

"I think it has something to do with the bolt of lightning that hit her yesterday." Clark told Lana.

"How could lightning do that?" Lana asked confused.

"It might be more than just lightning." Clark suggested.

"What do you mean?" Lana questioned him.

"Nevermind." Clark said, shaking off the thought, as Jonathon approached.

"The doctors say she'll be fine, her vital signs are regular and stable." Jonathon said relieved.

"Just like that? They're not going to do anything?" Clark asked sternly.

"Clark, they checked everything and it all appears normal. What's going on with you?" Jonathon asked as Lana looked on with the same question.

"Nothing, i'm just worried about mom." Clark said sincerely.

"Your mother is going to be fine. Now lets go home." Jonathon said, going back to the hospital room for Martha.

"Everything is going to be fine." Lana said, taking Clark's hand as Clark looked sad.

"Hey, umm, i'll meet you home. Okay?" Clark told her.

"Where are you going?" Lana asked as Clark walked toward the elavator.

"I need to get some help." Clark said before leaving as Lana stared on confused.

*Central Kansas.*

Fine is sitting at a bench reading a book, when Clark comes. "Interesting people these humans are." Fine says, putting down the book.

"She has the mark." Clark said bluntly.

"Where?" Fine asked.

"On her arm." Clark told him.

"I have to see her now." Fine told him as Clark nodded and they superspeed to the house.

*Kent House.*

Martha sat on the couch, Lana on one side and Jonathon on the other. "Dad, I brought someone to look at mom." Clark told his dad.

"What's going on son?" Jonathon asked.

"I think Martha has been infected by a Kryptonian disease." Fine told Jonathon.

"How can we trust you?" Jonathon asked.

"Dad, he's here to help. Let him look." Clark said, as Jonathon reluctantley stepped aisde and Fine looked at Martha's arm.

"I've seen it before, it's just as I thought." Fine said as he turned to Clark.

"What is it?" Clark asked.

"The sign of Jor-el." Fine told him, as then Martha begin to struggle and shake wildly.

"Martha!" Jonathon said, as Lana, Jonathon and Clark rushed to Martha.

"Get some green kryptonite." Fine told them, as Clark superspeed into loft and back, with the lead box that had the green kryptonite. He gave it to Jonathon and backed away. Martha stopped struggling and settled down, but her face covered with black marks.

"Will it cure her?" Clark asked.

"No, it will only ease the pain. Her death can't be stopped, she has hours to live." Fine told Clark, as he, Lana and Jonathon exchanged looks of horror. Clark and Fine, then went on to the Kent's proch.

"Jor-el is doing this." Fine told Clark.

"I don't know that." Clark replied.

"This is who Jor-el was." Fine said.

"I don't believe that, i have to talk to Jor-el." Clark said.

"Do as you must, you know where to find me." Fine told him as he superspeeded away. Jonathon, then came out.

"Clark does Jor-el have anything to do with this?" Jonathon asked.

"I don't know." Clark replied.

"Why would Jor-el come after your mom?" Jonathon asked as Clark turned away. "Clark, you have to tell me." Jonathon told him.

"When I came back from the dead, it wasn't without it's price. Jor-el told me, that someone close to me. That someone I loved, would have to exchange their life for mine. I never asked for that dad, i would have given up my life for moms or for anyone I love." Clark said becoming emtional.

"I know that son, but if you think Jor-el is doing this, you have to stop him." Jonathon told him.

"I will." Clark said as he superspeeded away.

*Lex's mansion.*

Lionel walks in as Lex looks less than happy to see him. "Come to offer some more advice on my campaign?" Lex asked.

"No, I know you have an army of advisors for that." Lionel told him.

"Then, what do you want? Lex asked bluntly.

"Just to ask you what the people would think of your little obsessions." Lionel said to him.

"We both know you're the eccentric part of the family, dad." Lex told him.

"Yeah, but i'm not the one running for office." Lionel told him.

"Okay dad, what do I have to hide from the people?" Lex asked him.

"Nothing here son, just the object that is sitting in your warehouse." Lionel told him as Lex gave the "How the hell does he know" look.

"In my warehourse? Dad, are we having delusions again?" Lex asked as Lionel smiled.

"The only one who has delusions is the one who thinks they're little green men running around." Lionel. said as Lex nodded.

"Is that all?" Lex asked.

"I wish you luck my son, you're going to need it." Lionel said as he walked out.

*FOS*

"JOR-EL, JOR-EL!" Clark yelled as then he noticed the lit crystals and took one.

"Why have you comeback my son?' Jor-el asked.

"Are you killing my mom?" He asked bluntly.

"I have done nothing." Jor-el told him.

"Then please help her." Clark asked.

"There is nothing I can do, I can't change what is already in motion." Jor-el told him as Clark looked down, upset and sad.

"There is always something you can do, don't lie to me." Clark told him.

"I'm sorry, my son." Jor-el said as Clark, held the crystal angerily in his hands.

*Kent House.*

Martha is laying on the couch, with Lana sitting next to her on a chair. Lana is looking out the window sadly, worried about Clark and Martha, feeling so helpless. "Everything will be okay dear." Martha told Lana, as Lana turned to her.

"How can you be so sure? You're dying Mrs. Kent." Lana said.

"Don't be sad for me, I've lived a long and great life. I've raised a son into a man and a man, who fell in love with this great woman. This woman, who I consider one of my own, the daughter i've always wanted." Martha told Lana, as Lana became teary eyed.

"Thank you Mrs. Kent. You've been like a mother to me and it's because of you, that Clark became the man he is today. I'm lucky to have him, but he needs you Mrs. Kent." Lana told her.

"My job is over Lana, he has someone else now. Someone who I trust will always be there for Clark and guide him emtionally as I did. You two are special and deserve each other." Martha told her.

"I"m scared Mrs. Kent, what if Clark's destiny leads him away from me?" Lana asked Martha as, tears streamed down her eyes.

"I was scared too, all those times he developed new powers, those times Jor-el called for him and having to put my only son's life on the line. I realized though, that he needs you as much everyone needs him. Clark will always need you to be strong for him, only your love can save him. I know you can do it." Martha told Lana, as Lana sat there not knowing what to say. So many emtions going through her mind. Clark then walked in, looking dejected.

"Clark!" Lana said getting up and going toward him. "How did it go?" She asked.

"He said he didn't do anything, but he won't help." Clark told her.

"I don't get it, why would this happen?" Lana asked confused as Clark looked away.

"It's my fault." Clark said.

"How could it be your fault?" Lana asked.

"When I died, Jor-el brought me back, but not without a price." Clark told her.

"What price?" Lana asked.

"He said the life of someone I love, will exchanged for mine." Clark told Lana, then Lana took Clark into her arms.

"It wasn't your fault, there's no way you could have known that." Lana told him.

"If I had listened to Jor-el from the beginning...." Clark said before trailing off.

"Don't do this to yourself." Lana told him.

"Too late, I already did." Clark said as looked over to his mom and walked over to the couch as Lana looked sadly at him. Then followed him.

"How you feeling mom?" Clark asked.

"I"ve been better." Martha said, giving a small smile as Clark looked at her even sadder.

"I'm sorry mom." Clark told her.

"It isn't your fault Clark." Martha told him.

"Yes it is, if it wasn't for me you wouldn't be sick." Clark told her.

"Your dad told me about Jor-el and i'm more than willing to give up my life for my son's." Martha told him.

"I need you, mom." Clark said, tears coming slowly down his eyes.

"Not anymore, my job is done. I've raised you from my little boy, into the man I see today. It's my time to go, but my love for you would never die." Martha told Clark.

"Mom...." Clark said trailing off in sadness.

"I love you Clark." Martha told him, placing her hand on his.

"I love you too, mom." Clark said holding her hand.

*Kent kitchen a couple minutes later.*

"I have to see Fine." Clak told Lana.

"How can he help?" Lana asked.

"He knows something, I know he does." Clark told her.

"Are you sure we can trust him?" Lana asked again.

"I have no choice." Clark told Lana as she nodded her head.

"Then go, I'll stay here with your mom and dad." Lana told him and then they shared a short kiss, before Clark superspeeded away.

*Fine's classroom.*

"I need to know every about Jor-el." Clark told Fine.

"You're not ready yet." Fine told him, as fine turned away.

"I am, tell me." Clark said, turning Fine to him.

"Impatience, another annoying human quality that makes them such an inferior race." Fine said annoyed

"I happen to care a lot about this inferior race." Clark told him sternly.

"I can see that and you're willing to sacrifice anything to protect the ones you love?" Fine asked.

"Yes!" Clark told him.

"Alright, then here's the truth. Jor-el used this method in Krypton to torture those who defied him. He was tyrrant, destroying all in his path. However, there was one who tried to stop him. His name was Zod, champion of the people. He was unable to defeat Jor-el and save Krypton from destruction. Your father destroyed Krypton." Fine told Clark.

"How do I know that's true?" Clark asked, confused.

"You don't, but it is and to save your mother we have to stop Jor-el." Fine told Clark.

"How do I stop him?" Clark asked, realizing he had no choice.

"Destroy the fortress of Solitude." Fine told Clark, as Clark knew he had no other choice.

"Okay, meet me at the caves. I have to go pickup something." Clark told him as Fine nodded.

*Daily Planet.*

Chloe is looking at a profile of Fine, when she receives an e-mail from Lionel. She clicks on it.

"I believe the answers you're looking for can be found in warehouse 15 at Luthur Corp." Lionel wrote as Chloe stared at it, until Lois came in, Chloe quickly turned the computer away from her.

"Hey cous, what's up?" Lois asked.

"Nothing.....actually, I was wondering if you would like to do some invesitgative reporting with me tonight." Chloe asked.

"Sure, on who?" Lois asked.

"Lex Luthur and LuthurCorp." Chloe said as she knew how much Lois hated Lex.

"Let's do it, i'd be glad to fine something on him before the election." Lois said grinning, as Chloe and Lois left.

*Kent House.*

Clark walks in to see Lana and Jonathon sitting besides Martha. "Dad, where's the key?" Clark asked.

"It's in the barn son, why?" Jonathon asked.

"I need to see Jor-el again." Clark says as he superspeeds in to the barn. Clark is searching for the key, when Lana comes in.

"Clark, I thought Jor-el said he couldn't help." Lana said to him.

"He can't." Clark told her.

"Then why are you going to see him again?" Lana asked.

"Because I have to stop him." Clark said still searching for the key.

"What are you going to do?" Lana asked.

"I'm going to destroy the fortress of solitude." Clark told her as he found the key and began to walk out, but Lana stopped him.

"Are you sure that's what you want to do? I don't think that's a good idea." Lana told him.

"I have no choice, he's killing my mom." Clark told her.

"We don't know that Clark, I don't think........" Lana said before Clark interupted her.

"Jor-el has done nothing, but cause us and my family pain. I will not allow him to kill her." Clark said as walked past a confused Lana.

*LuthurCorp.*

Lois drives up to the LuthurCorp toll, Chloe is hiding in the back seat. The secruity guy comes out. "Can you help me? I'm lost." Lois told him.

"Sure, just let me get a map." The guy said, going to get one, as Chloe sneaks out of the car and into the warehouse. Chloe gets in and starts looking around, she doesn't see anything at first. Then she notices a vent and follows the stairs up to it.

Outside, the guy is showing the Lois the map. "Where are you going?" He asked.

"Ummm, to Metropolis." She said, trying to think something up as the guy searched the map. Back inside the warehourse, Chloe looks through the vent and see's the ship. Her eyes widened as she also sees this black liquid shape into Fine. Fine is standing there, turning a part of his body into a black crystal.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" A secruity guy flashing his light on Chloe asked. Chloe turns to him and when she turns back, Fine is gone.

The man outside is getting a radio call, but before he can answer it, Lois knocks him and breaks the barrier, bardging into Luthur Corp. The secruity guy is taking out Chloe, but Chloe knees him in the groin and runs into Lois's car. "Hit it." Chloe yells as Lois speeds away.

*The chamber wall.*

Clark and Fine are standing there as Clark puts in the key and they're transfered to the FOS. "You must use this to destroy him." Fine says, handing Clark the black crystal.

"LET HER LIVE." He yells as he puts in the black crystal and the FOS starts to come a part. Clark looks confused as he sees a portal opening up. Then Fine takes out green kryponite, Clark turns to him.

"Foolish Kal-el." Fine says smiling.

"You're not from Krypton." Clark says weakly.

"I am, i'm a creation of Krypton." Fine told him.

"Jor-el didn't do this, did he?" Clark asked.

"No, it was me off course, but your pitiful human emtions blinded you. You're nothing more than a weak pathetic human, who's incapable of stopping me and Zod." Fine told him.

"I'd rather be human, then a part of a kryptonian race with people like you." Clark told him.

"Hahaha, then you'll die like one on their planet." Fine said, lifting Clark on a crystal table, with green kryptonite on it. Fine then turned his attention to the portal transporting Zod.

*Kent House.*

Lana's cell phone rings. "Hello?" Lana asked.

"Lana, it's Chloe, we have problems." Chloe told her.

"What's going on?" Lana asked concerned.

"It's Fine, he's not who we think he is. I saw mutate from black liquid into his body and he came from the ship." Chloe told Lana.

"Black luquid......Mrs. Kent has black marks on her, oh man. Clark!" Lana said.

"Where is Clark, i tried his cell." Chloe said.

"Chloe, Fine set Clark up. They're at the FOS and Clark's going to destroy it. I have to go warn him." Lana said.

"Lana, you can't go alone." Chloe told her.

"I have to Chloe." Lana said hanging up and rushing out the door.

*The cave.*

Lana see's the chamber and rushes into it. She looks down at the key and puts it in.

*FOS.*

Clark is laying there in pain, trying to get up, but unable to. Fine staring at the portal as this block with a face on it, comes closer. Lana walks in as quiet as possible, looking around amazed by the structure. She then spots Clark and Fine. She goes to him as fast and as quietly as possible. "Clark." She whispers and takes the green kryponite, tossing it as far as possible.

"Lana." He says placing his hand on her cheek.

"Save your mom." She whispers as Clark nods and quickly gets up. He takes out the black crystal, the portal closes and Fine turns to Clark. Fine then superspeeds toward Clark, but Clark side steps him and tosses Fine into a wall.

"Lana get down." Clark tells her, as Fine then shoots heat vision at Clark, sending him to the ground. Fine superspeeds to Clark with the black crystal, he tries to stab Clark with it. Clark blocks it, but Fine keeps moving it closer and closer, until Clark throws him off. Fine hits the crystals and they all stick into his back. Clark superspeeds toward him as black liquid falls from Fine's mouth and he apparently dies. Clark then goes back to Lana. "Let's get out of here." He says, picking up Lana and superspeeding away.

After i finish solitude, i was thinking of having a filler episode of my mine. This is mostly because I have no idea what they're going to do with some of the plots on smallville. I heard Lex will get some dirt on JK, but i have no clue. It would really be hard to makeup, so i might do a filler episode of my own. In fact, i might be able to make up a character I wanted to put in before.

Solitude, Part 5.

*Kent House.*

Martha shoots up from the couch, as if the life is returning back to her. Jonathon hurries to her. "Clark." He says smiling as he takes Martha into his arms. All of Martha's scars are gone, as Clark and Lana return.

"Mom!" Clark yelled, as he rushed to his parents. They all hugged as Lana looked on smiling.

"You saved me, Clark." Martha said hugging her son.

"No, Lana did." Clark told them as Martha release Clark and gave Lana a hug.

"I knew you could do it." She whispered to Lana.

"I'm just glad you're okay, Mrs. Kent." Lana said as they all smiled, except for Clark. Who knew he had his mother back, but he wondered for how long? Jor-el's threat was still out there.

*Kent's loft later in the day.*

Clark is looking out his loft window, thinking of what might happen. He knew he escaped today with his family and friends in tact, but he wondered about tomorrow or the next day. In reaily, this is the part that Clark has been trying to escape his whole life. However, his past would always catch up to him, his destiny, would always be staring him in his face. What if his dad died? Jonathon was Clark's role model, he was Clark's conscience, the voice that lead Clark through the darkness to the light. He wasn't ready to let go of him, he needed him. All those times Clark wanted to quit, wanted to give in, his dad was always there to pick him up and keep him going. How could he live without him?

'My mom, the most caring and loving person. How could I lose her?' He thought. This whole day Clark tried to picture life without her, but he couldn't. She was always there for him when he was depressed, always put a smile on her face. When it came to his love life, she always understood him and was there for him, in a way no one else really could. Martha always knew how Clark felt, what he was thinking and was always comforting. All those years he thought he was strange and different, Martha took him into her arms, telling him how much she loved him. Clark could always count on her. What would he if she died?

'Chloe, my best friend, i've always needed her.' Clark thought. How she protected Clark's secret with her life, was something Clark would always be thankful for. Not only that, but she was his best friend, a person he felt he could always trust. Through thick and thin, she was always there for Clark. She was always there to remind Clark who he was and what he could be. He loved Chloe, like a sister and he wasn't ready to lose her.

'Then Lana.....' He thought as Lana walked up to the loft. "Hiding, are we?" Lana asked smiling.

"Just thinking and this has always been the place for that." Clark said turning back to the window.

"It has, hasn't it." Lana said standing besides him.

"So, how does it feel to be the hero?" Clark asked trying to avoid the apparent subject.

"Feels okay, but i don't know if i'm the right person for the superhero business." She said, still facing the window.

"You don't think so? I think you'd look good in tights." Clark said grinning.

"Is that right? Well, maybe when you're alone one of these days, i'll try it out for you." Lana said smiling.

"Just tell me when." Clark told her as Lana nods.

"Clark, I know something is bothering you." Lana told him.

"You always do, don't you." Clark said smiling.

"Yep, it's one of my abilities, along with the ability to hurl meteor rocks." Lana said pausing and facing Clark as he faces her. "Now what's wrong?" Lana asked.

"The usual, I made a mistake and someone else is going to have to pay the price." Clark told her.

"We all make mistakes." Lana told him.

"Except mine will cost someone I love to die." Clark told her as she looked sadly into his eyes.

"Maybe there's a way out of it." Lana said as Clark shook his head.

"There is no way out of it, this is Jor-el we're talking about. When he says something, it's going to happen and it's on me" Clark told her.

"No, Clark it isn't on you, I don't believe it's your fault and neither do your parents. Don't torture youself like this." Lana told him.

"How can I not? What if I lose you Lana? I would never be able to live with myself if you died, because of me. You mean everything to me, you're my heart and soul Lana. I can't lose you." Clark said turning away. Lana looks at him with tears in her eyes, then takes Clark's face in her hands.

"Clark, listen to me, you could never lose me. I don't care what threats Jor-el makes, I will never leave you, I love you too much."
Lana told him, as he shook his head slightly.

"Lana, I just can't shake this thought of you dying." Clark said to her.

"Our love is too strong to die." She said, as she leaned in and they kissed sweetly, embracing each other.

Future, Part 1.

*Kent House.*

Martha and Jonathon are sitting at their kitchen table, drinking coffee. "Jonathon, I still can't believe we're doing this." Martha told him.

"Neither can I, but i feel it's the right thing to do. Besides I really think I can make a difference." Jonathon told her, taking a sip for his coffee.

"I know you can, you've already made a diffence in two people's lives." Martha told him, taking his hand and squeezing it.

"By the way, how's he holding up?" Jonathon asked.

"You know Clark, he gets down, but he seems to be getting over things quicker these days. Thanks to Lana, i always wished they'd come together like this." Matha told him.

"So did I, but I wasn't always sure they would. Clark leads a dangerous life and it's a lot to ask of somone to involve themselves in that." Jonathon explained.

"It is, but they love each other and deserve each other. I hope everything works out for them." Martha said.

"As do I, as long as Jor-el stays out of the way." Jonathon said.

"Do you think Jor-el's threat is for real?" Martha asked.

"He's never lied before, but i'd be more than willingly to give up my life for my son's." Jonathon told her.

"The same goes for me, Clark means so much to me. I'd give anything to protect him. It's just that, I don't want to lose you." Martha said becoming teary eyed.

"I don't want to lose you either, I love you. Just remember, whatever happens we'll still have Clark and we need to be there for him. We need to promise ourselves that." Jonathon told her.

"Okay." She said smiling as they leaned into kiss.

*Met U dorm.*

Lana and Chloe are in their dorm, Chloe is on her computer as Lana is fixing her hair.

"Geez, you've been in love with each other for five years and you still need to fix your hair for him?" Chloe asked rolling her eyes.

"Hey, he deserves the best. I will never give him anything less." Lana replied.

"What time are we meeting Clark at the talon today, anyways?" Chloe asked.

"In an hour." Lana told her.

"So, how's he feeling after what happened?" Chloe asked.

"Sad, relieved and depressed all at the same time. I've been trying to take his mind off that all week, it's actually been getting better for him. I just wish I could make it all go away for him." Lana told her.

"It's not easy to be him, sacrifice yourself every day of the week and in return, someone you love gets sacrificed. I never thought anyone would be better without their real father, but after knowing Jor-el, that's not the case anymore." Chloe said.

"I don't understand Jor-el. I mean one times he's saving his son from death and the next moment he's telling him that he's going to take someone his son loves, life away. It doesn't make sense, I feel like i'm missing something here." Lana explained.

"Jor-el is a puzzle in himself and there isn't any pieces. He isn't going away though, so Clark's going to have to deal with him." Chloe said.

"So, how did you feel when Clark told you about what Jor-el told him?" Lana asked.

"I didn't know what to feel, to be honest. All I knew is that the world wouldn't be the same without Clark and he's my best friend, I wouldn't think twice about giving up my life for his." Chloe told Lana.

"I feel the same way. I love him more than anything and I never think twice about sacrificing my life for his." Lana paused and walked up to Chloe, placing her hands on Chloe's shoulder. "If that day does come, I need you to promise me something." Lana said as Chloe looked on confused.

"What is it?" Chloe asked.

"I need you to promise me, you'll take care of him for me." Lana asked.

"You want me to take care of him?" Chloe asked.

"Yes, he needs someone to be there for him and I know you can do it." Lana told her.

"I promise." Chloe said as Lana gave her a small smile and they hugged.

"Now let's go." Lana said grabbing her car keys.

*The Talon.*

Lana and Chloe walk in as Clark's sitting at table. He notices them and gets up to meet them. "Hey." He says to them and then gives Lana a kiss.

"How's my favorite hero?" Lana asked.

"Fine, how's favorite girlfriend and my favorite reporter?" Clark asked.

"Great." Chloe told him smiling and then began again. "I hope you like Lana's hair, she spent hours on it." Chloe said, trying not to laugh.

"I think it looks great." Clark said.

"Really?" Lana asked.

"Absolutely." He said giving her another kiss.

"Before I throw up, i'm going to see if Lois is around." Chloe said as she made her way up the stairs, giving them the I was joking nod. Clark and Lana sit down, right next to each, one in hand in the others.

"Everything's okay?" Lana asked.

"Yep, my dad is getting ready for election v.s. Lex, this could get interesting." Clark told her.

"I imagine it would, no love lost between your father and Lex." Lana said.

"None at all." Clark said as Lana stared into his eyes.

"Clark, do you think we could have this life forever?" Lana asked as Clark was taken aback by the question.

"I hope....But....I.....Yes, I do think we can have this life." Clark said stumbling between his words as Lana smiled.

"I love you Clark." Lana told him.

"I love you too." Clark replied as they kissed.

"You are destined not to be together." A man's voice is heard directed toward Clark and Lana. They break their kiss and turned to where the voice is, they see a black hodded man and seconds later, he disappears. They look at each other in awe.

Future, Part 2.

"What?" Lana said looking at Clark, in a concerned manner. As Clark stared blankly at where the man was and then turned to Lana.

"We must have been imaging something." Clark said, trying to reasure Lana.

"Clark, it looked so real. How could we imagine that?" Lana asked.

"I don't know, but whoever that was, they don't know anything about us." Clark told her.

"You're probably right, how could he know the future anyway?" Lana said trying to reasure herself, but failing.

"Lana, it's okay. Nothing could keep us a part, not even destiny." Clark said smiling.

"Just hold me Clark." Lana said, as Clark took her into his arms. Lana laid her head in Clark's chest, eyes closed tightly. Clark's eyes filled with worried about Lana, then he closed them, embracing Lana.

*Kent House.*

Chloe, Clark and Lana all go back to the Kent's house. Chloe couldn't find Lois, but remember Lois is visiting the General. "Clark, i'm going to go take a walk." Lana told him.

"Okay, you want company?" Clark asked.

"No thanks, i just want to clear my head." Lana said.

"Alright, we'll be here." Clark told her as they gave a short kiss and Lana left.

"Is it just me or does Lana seem a little bit off, since going to the Talon?" Chloe asked.

"It's not you, something happened while you were looking for Lois." Clark told her.

"What was it?" Chloe asked.

"Lana and I were kissing, when we heard someone say, you are not destined to be together. Lana and I stopped kissing, turning to the voice. It was a man in a black hood and seconds later he disappeared." Clark explained.

"He just disappeared? You know, five years ago this would have seemed strange." Chloe said raising her eyebrows.

"Tell me about it. Anyways, he did just disappear, but that's not the problem with Lana. I guess it hit her hard what he said." Clark told Chloe.

"It's understandable." Choe told him.

"Why? How can she believe we're not destined to be together?" Clark asked.

"It's not that she doesn't it Clark, it's that there's so many things getting in your way. Your destiny for one and Jor-el for two. You might not have a choice and that's probably what she's thinking. It has nothing to do with her lack of faith in you or your relationship, it's the fact that she might have to give you up or you might have to leave." Chloe explained to him.

"There is no destiny without her. I full believe that, now more than ever." Clark said firmly.

"Don't tell me Clark, tell her." Chloe said, motioning to Lana out in the field. Clark smiled at Chloe and then superspeeded to Lana. She had her back to the house as Clark placed his hand on her shoulder and Lana jumped back.

"Sorry." Clark said as he noticed Lana had been crying. "Lana, come here." He said taking her into his arms as began to cry more.

"Clark, I don't want to lose you. I'm afraid your destiny is too big for me and you're going to leave." Lana told him between cries.

"Lana, listen to me." He said bringing her to his eye level. "There is no destiny without you." Clark told her.

"You don't know that though. I mean, what if Jor-el needs you to save the world and you have to leave. What if you never come back?" Lana asked, tears still dripping down her eyes.

"Then i'll have to save world, but then i'll come right back to you." Clark told her.

"Nothing is for sure Clark, there's just so many things in our way." Lana told him sadly.

"I know, but love isn't one of them. I've known for a long time now, that there is no one for me, but you. I love you Lana and no matter what, i'm going to find a way for us to be together." Clark told her.

"I'm just so scared." Lana said as she fell back into Clark's arms as he kissed her forehead.

*Lex's mansion.*

"How does a 1,000 ton ship, just disappear?" He asked his head secruity guard.

"I don't know boss?" The man replied.

"You don't know? What do I pay for?" Lex asked.

"I'm sorr sir." The man said.

"Not as sorry as I am, now get out." Lex yelled.

"This is who you are." A voice whispered as Lex turned to where the voice is and the black hooded man was there.

"Who are you?" Lex asked.

"Someone who knows Lex better than he does." The man replied.

"Is that right? What is it you think you know?" Lex asked.

"That you are the villian of the story." The man said.

"That's not who I am." Lex told the man, as the man came closer.

"But it is, come see." The man said placing his hand on Lex's hand as white light fills the room.

Future Part 2

Lex and the hooded figure were transported to this lightly lit room. It looked more like an office, Lex thought it looked like Lionel's old office. "Where are we?" Lex asked.

"The future." The figure replied.

"Yeah and how is that possible?" Lex asked, still skeptically.

"Anything's possible Lex, i thought you would have figured that out by now." The figured replied.

"Prove it." Lex said as the figure, then pointed to the man coming through the doors. It was an older Lex, he was still bald, with a darker complextion and a black glove on his hand.

"There you are?" He told Lex.

"Why I am here?" Lex asked.

"Because this is where you conduct your business. You live in Metropolis and basically live in your office." The man said as another man walked into the room. He was big, but Lex couldn't quite make him out.

"Don't you ever learn?" The older Lex asked to the other man.

"I will never stop trying to stop you?" The mysterious man told the older Lex.

"What is he talking about?" Lex asked the hooded figure, but he stood quiet.

"I won't let you kill anyone else." The mysterious man told Lex.

"You have no choice, normal or not, you can and will be destroyed." Lex told the man.

"You can never stop me, I will fight to the end to protect the people." The mysterious man replied.

"I'm a Luthur, I will do what I have to do to get what I want. Even if that means killing innocent people." The older Lex replied.

"Like father, like son. Just remember, i'll be watching." The mysterious man said, before leaving, as the older Lex grins. The hooded figure again places his hand on Lex's head and they're back in Lex's mansion.

*Lex's mansion.*

"I....That can't be true. I never.....That's not who I want to be." Lex said.

"It is Lex, that's who you're going to be, you can't change who you are. The darkness is overcoming you and soon it will fully be in control." The figured told him.

"I never wanted to be like him, it wasn't my fault. I.........didn't have a choice." Lex said, fighting with himself.

"You always had a choice, the only thing that got in your way, was you." The hooded figured told him as Lex turn away in thought.

"No...." Lex said sadly and then turned around to see the figure gone. Clark then walks in and notices Lex is a little rattled.

"Lex, are you okay?" Clark asked.

"Yeah, i guess i was just dreaming." Lex said shaking it off. "So, what's up?" Lex asked.

"I know things have been tough between us, but I was still hoping we could have a nice friendly race for senate. You and my dad, fair and square?" Clark asked.

"Off course." Lex said extending his hand as Clark shook it, then began to walk out, until Lex stopped him. "Clark, even if I wanted to, there's no way in the world I could get dirt on someone like your dad. If I can't win, i'd rather have it be someone like him." Lex said, smiling at Clark, as Clark smiled back and left.

*Clark's loft.*

Lana is sitting up there, waiting for Clark to return, when the hooded figure appears behind her. "Lana." He says, as Lana jumps up.

"Who are you?" She says frightened.

"Just a messenger, don't be scared. I won't hurt you." He said approaching her.

"What do you want?" She asked.

"To show you the light." He said placing his hand on her head, as light fills the loft. When they reappear, Lana and the figure are in a room.

"Where are we?" Lana asked.

"The future." The man said pointing to Lana holding a baby, right next to a paper. The older Lana, is reading it and smiles.

"Look little Clark, he saved the day again." She said to baby.

"Little Clark, we had children?" Lana said optimistically as the hodded figure shook his head and pointed to the man coming through the door. Lana couldn't quite make him out, but she knew it wasn't Clark. He was too short and had short curly hair.

"Hey honey." The man said kissing the older Lana. "How's little Clark?" He asked.

"How is that?" Lana asked.

"Your husband." The figure replied as Lana looked on in disbelief.

"Fine." She said craddling the baby.

"Alright, I just came to get something and i need to get back to work." The man told her.

"Okay." Older Lana said as the man left and the older Lana sighed, turning to the baby. "I wish I could give you the father you deserve, but I can't. I lost him, his destiny was too big for me and he left. I'm sorry, i can't believe I lost him." The older Lana said, tearing up.

"What is she or what am I talking about?" Lana asked sadly.

"What do you think?" The hooded figure said as Lana turned to her older self, one last time and when she turned around the hodded figure was gone. She was now back in the loft as Clark return.

"Lana?" He said as she saw and him, jumping into his arms. "Lana, are you okay?" Clark asked.

"No, don't go." She said, crying on his shoulder.

"I'm not going anywhere." He said embracing her and stroking her hair.

Future Part 3

Clark slowly put Lana down as she reluctantly let go. "What's going on Lana?" Clark asked worried.

"I....I saw him." Lana said as Clark looked her confused.

"Saw who?" Clark asked.

"Saw him." Lana said giving him a wide eyed look.

"Oh, him, did he do anything to you? What happen?" Clark asked concerned.

"He showed me the future." Lana told Clark.

"The future? What did you see?" Clark asked, not fully prepared for the answer.

"I saw an older version of myself and a baby. I was in a house and this man came in, kissed me, called me honey, then left. I can only assume we were married, especially with the baby." Lana told him, trying to wipe away that image.

"Did you see who it was?" Clark asked.

"It wasn't clear, but I know it wasn't you." Lana asked.

"How could you tell?" Clark replied.

"Because of what she said right before I came back here." Lana said.

"What did she say?" Clark questioned.

"She told the baby, that she was sorry she couldn't give him the father she deserved and that she lost him, that his destiny was too big for her." Lana told him.

"Lana....." Clark said trailing off.

"She was talking about you Clark and what if what I saw comes true?" Lana said sadly.

"It won't, remember we always have a choice and my choice will always be you." Clark told her sincerely.

“Clark, how can you know that? We don’t know what Jor-el has in store for you or what your destiny could call for you to do.” Lana told him, then Clark took her face in his hands.

“It’s just…..I’m so scared.” Lana said.

“So am I. What keeps me strong is the faith I have in us and our love for each other. If we could survive these past four years, then we can survive anything.” Clark said smiling.

“You really love me?” Lana asked some what jokingly.

“I do.” Clark said smiling.

“It felt so real Clark.” Lana said, holding her arms.

“But it wasn’t and it will never be.” Clark said holding her.

“Ok, well, I better get back to the dorm.” Lana said beginning to leave before Clark stops her.

“I think it would be better if you stayed here tonight.” He told her.

“What about your parents though?” Lana asked.

“I think they’ll understand that this is a special occasion. I don’t want you worrying and I think it would be best for you to stay here.” Clark told her.

“Fine with me, now where were at the Talon?” Lana said smiling seductively as Clark returns the smile and they kiss passionately.

*Kent’s house.*

After an hour of making out, Clark and Lana made their way into the house. “Why don’t you wait upstairs.” Clark said as Lana nodded and Clark made his way toward his parents.

“Hey mom, dad.” Clark said.

“Hey son, what’s going on?” Jonathon asked.

"Umm....I need to ask you guys a favor." Clark said.

"Okay, what is it?" Jonathon asked.

"I need you to allow Lana to stay here tonight." Clark said as Jonathon and Martha exchanged looks.

"Is everything alright?" Martha asked.

"Not exactly." Clark said, not really wanting to get into details.

"Well, what is?" Jonathon asked.

"Me and Lana were at the talon today, when this mysterious person told us that we were destined not to be together. I couldn't tell who it was and he disappear before I could. When I say disappeared, i mean disappeared. Then, later today, he came to Lana in the loft and showed her a part of her future, which didn't include me at all." Clark explained.

"Is she okay?" Martha asked.

"I'm not so sure, she's pretty shaken up about this. She's starting to think that my destiny might be to big for her and i'll leave her." Clark said concerned.

"We've been afraid of that for years Clark, your destiny could lead you in so many different directions. It's not a safe bet on what could happen." Martha told him.

"Mom, i'm never letting her go, destiny or not she will always be in my life." Clark said as Martha smiled and placed her hand on his cheek.

"I'm happy for you and Lana, I hope it may never end." Martha said.

"Considering the circumstances I think it would be alright if Lana stayed over tonight. As long as there's no fooling around. She's sleep in your room and you'll sleep on the couch." Jonathon informed him.

"Thanks dad, mom." Clark said, walking upstairs to Lana.

Future Part 4

Clark walked up to see Lana, she is sitting in his room looking at a picture of her and Clark from freshmen year, on top of the windmill. “We’ve come so far.” She said to him as he stood in the door way.

“Yeah, we have.” Clark replied.

“I remember sitting up in their with you, feeling free with the one person I knew could understand how I felt. I don’t know if it was exactly then, but I remember telling myself, “I love him.” I’ve always wished we could go back in time, just so I could fall in love with you again.” Lana said as Clark smiled.

“We don’t need to go back in time, because we have the present and the future.” Clark told her.

“The future isn’t always so bright.” Lana said as Clark sat next to her on his bed.

“The future will always be bright, as long as includes you.” Clark said sincerely.

“And as long as it includes you.” She told him.

“My parents gave the okay, you can stay tonight. You’ll sleep in my room and I’ll sleep on the ouch.” Clark told her.

“No, it’s okay, I can sleep on the couch Clark.” Lana said.

“Lana, you’re sleeping in my room, besides I’m sure my bed has missed you.” Clark grinned as Lana blushed.

“I do love the plaid.” Lana grinned back.

“And it loves you.” Clark said kissing her cheek, causing Lana to smile.

“Thank you.” Lana said, referring to the kiss.

“It was my pleasure.” Clark said smiling

“It’s been a long day, I think I need some rest.” Lana told him.

“Alright, sleep good, my angel.” He said giving her a kiss, as he began to walk out.

“Clark.” She said stopping him.

“Yeah.” Clark said.

“I love you.” Lana told him.

“I love you too.” Clark said, going back to give her another kiss. “And I always will.” He whispered and then left, as Lana turned back to the picture.

*Later that night.*

Clark slept silently on his couch, until he heard a voice. “Kal-el…” It whispered as Clark began to stir. “Kal-el…” It said again as Clark opened his eyes.

“Who’s there?” He said as he turned to see the black hooded figure.
“What do you want?” Clark asked him.

“To show you the future.” The figure replied.

“What if I don’t want to see the future?” Clark asked him.

“You have no choice.” The figure told him, as the room filled with light. When the light faded away, they were now in the FOS. There stood Clark, not much older than he is now.

“It is time my son.” Jor-el’s voice told him.

“Time for what?” Clark asked the figure as he looked on at the older Clark.

“I understand, but why now, I don’t want to leave her I won’t leave her.” The older Clark told Jor-el.

“You must my son, for it is your destiny. You have to accept that, for the good of the world.” Jor-el told him.

“I can’t leave.” older Clark told him once again.”

“I know it is hard for you my son, but you have to sacrifice what means most to you, to save everyone else.” Jor-el explained to him.

“At least let me say goodbye.” older Clark asked.

“Okay my son.” Jor-el said.

“What is he doing?” Clark asked the figure as the light filled the FOS and they returned to the Kent house. “I don’t believe that.” Clark told the figure.

“It doesn’t matter what you believe, because it is the truth. You’re destined to be a part and there’s nothing you can do about it.” The figure told him as Clark got upset.

“I control my own destiny.” Clark told him sternly.

"That's what I told myself." The figure said as he revealed his face and it was an older Clark.

"You're me?" Clark said in shock.

"Yes, except I lost her and the same thing is going to happen to you." The older Clark said as Clark looked on in awe.

"No..." Clark said trailing of in sadness.

"I'm sorry I had to show you this, but I figured it would lessen the pain. Goodbye Kal-el." The figure said and then disappeared. Clark stood there, unknowing what to do, how he could stop the future. He then walked up to his room, quietly opened the door. He smiled at the sight of Lana sleeping peacefully on his bed, curled up like a ball. He quietly took a seat on the side of the bed and watched her sleep.

Future Part 5

*The next day.*

Clark sat in his loft, thinking of what happened last night. Doubts creeping through his mind, 'How can I change the future?' He thought to himself. He placed his face in his hands out of frustration, 'How I am going to tell Lana.' He wondered, knowing how sad all this was already making her, without what happened last night. Just another part of his life, another dagger into his heart. A part of who he is, the man who is destined to leave and be alone. "Ahhh." He shouted, punching one of the loft walls.

"Wow, now that's a scary sight." Chloe said, walking up the loft stairs.

"Sorry, it was a rough night." Clark told her.

"Really? I must say i'm surprised to hear that. I never thought it would be a bad night when Lana sleeps over your house." Chloe said with a smile.

"You wouldn't think so, but i did get an unexpected visitor last night." Clark said.

"Oh, find out anything interesting." Chloe asked.

"I'm going to leave her....." Clark said turning away from Chloe.

"What?" Chloe said in disbelief.

"I saw an older verison of myself talking to Jor-el. Jor-el told him, that it was time, that I had to leave for the good of the world. My older self understood, but was still reluctant to leave, yet he still agreed to." Clark said with his head lowered as Chloe walked up to him, picking his head with her hand.

"Do you want to leave her?" Chloe asked.

"Off course not." Clark said.

"Then don't." Chloe told him.

"Chloe, it's not that easy." Clark told her.

"What if it is?" Chloe asked.

"You know Jor-el and all about what my destiny may lead to. No matter how hard I try, how many times I fight it, it always gets back to me." Clark told her.

"No one, not even Jor-el can destroy the love you two have for each other. Some things you have fight for, until the end, never give up on those kind of fights." Chloe told him as Clark nodded emtionally striken by her words.

"I will never leave her, nor will I ever give up that fight." Clark said, more determined than ever.

"Always knew you wouldn't." Chloe said smiling.

"Thanks Chloe, i'd see you out, but I need to see a special someone." Clark said smiling as Chloe knew what he meant and pushed him out.

*Luthur Mansion.*

Lex is sitting at his desk, gazing out into the window. Trying to figure out if what he saw was real, if it really was who he is. Lionel then walked up. "Dreaming again, son?" He asked as Lex
turned to him and then back out into the window. "Is there a reason you asked me here?" Lionel questioned.

"No, i just wanted to see something." Lex told him as he turned to Lionel again.

"What is that son?" Lionel asked.

"The life that I could lead." Lex replied.

"What are you talking about son?" Lionel questioned.

"The future." Lex replied.

"The future? What do I have to do with your future?" Lionel asked.

"Everything" Lex replied.

"So you want to blame me for the way you are or will be?" Lionel asked.

"No, I just wanted to show myself." Lex said gazing back into the window as Lionel looked at him confused, then walked out. 'I guess is who I am.' Lex thought as he looked sadly out the window.

*Kent House.*

Lana was helping Martha clean the dishes, when Clark came in. "Hey." Lana said, before Clark kissed her passionately on the lips and Martha looked up in shock. He finally broke the kiss as Lana kept her eyes closed.

"Clark...." His mom said.

"Sorry mom." Clark told her and then turned to Lana.

"I need to talk to you, now." Clark said taking Lana's hand and bringing her outside.

"Can't control those Kent hormones." Martha said smiling.

"Hey, I resent that." Jonathon said nodding his head.

"Resent this." Martha said, splashing him with water.

"Now you're in trouble." Jonathon said, going up to her and wrapping his arms around her.

"What's going on Clark? Not that I don't like it." Lana asked.

"Last night, I was paid a visit and it wasn't by the tooth fairy." Clark said raising his eyebrows.

"Oh no..." Lana said putting her hand on her mouth.

"He showed me my future, telling me how I was going to leave you." Clark paused as Lana turned away from him, becoming emtional.

"Clark.... " Lana said, trailing off in pain.

"Listen to me Lana, after he showed me that, I was upset and as sad as you are now. However, thanks to a good friend, i realized something. I will never give up on us and no one, not even Jor-el can destroy the love we have for each other." Clark told her, bringing her into his arms.

"I won't give up either, because I know we're meant to be together. That's the only thing i've ever been sure of in my life, is us." Lana told him, kissing him lightly on the lips and they embraced again.

Then Clark slowly lifted his head up in the air and whispered, 'never.'

Lexmas, Part 1

*Lex's mansion.*

Lex is sitting at his desk, when a man enters. "Mr Luthur?" The man asked.

"Yep and I assume your the man who called me earlier?" Lex asked.

"Yes I am." The man said.

"Then the floor is yours." Lex said, motioning toward the room.

"I know you're entering a political race and I wanted to know if you need anyone to get dirt on your opponent. I'm the man for the job." The man said, as Lex let out a small laugh.

"Obviously you haven't met Jonathon Kent, he's as squeaky clean as they come." Lex told him.

"Then i'll make something up, done it before. I can make this happen and the election will be all yours. All I need is the okay." The man said as Lex stared at him.

"And your sure none of this would lead back to me or hurt his family?" Lex asked.

"I can promise it won't lead back to you, but I can't promise it won't hurt his family." The man said.

"I need time to think it over." Lex told him as the man nodded and handed him his number. Lex sighed, looking at it. As always when making a tough decision, Lex grabbed the bottle of Scotch and pured himself a drink. He knew there was no going back, that the decision he made, would forever stay with him. If he made this decision, then he would be doing the same thing his father had done all these years before. He never wanted to be like his father, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't escape his last name. Clark was his friend, even if they had there disagreements, he was his friend and saved his life numerous times. How could he turn his back on him? Martha was as close to a mother as he had after his mom died, he didn't want to hurt her either. Lex continued to struggle with the decision, then he decided to take a ride to clear his head. While riding down the street, Lex stops at a red light, thoughts still furiously going through his mind. When suddenly, there's a knock at the window and a man is holding a gun at it.

"Get out." The man says as Lex slowly makes his way out.

"Take it easy." Lex says trying to calm the man down.

"Shut up and give me your money." The man told him.

"Okay here." Lex said handing him his handlet.

"Thanks." The man said and then shoot Lex, Lex dropped to the ground. The man took his car and drove away.

*Smallville Mdeical Center.*

Lex is rushed into Smallville Medical Center. He's in a single room, where the doctor is ordering for treatment.

*Dream Sequence.*

Lex awakes and looks around in shock. He's in bed, in a house, that isn't his. Then, he see's Lana next to him, who's sleeping and pregnant. "Where am I?" He asked as he reached out to touch Lana.

"Daddy, daddy." A kid says jumping onto Lex's bed as Lana awakes.

"Hey there, why don't I get you breakfast and we let daddy sleep a little?" Lana says looking up the kid.

"Okay." The kid says taking Lana's hand as Lana looks at Lex and smiles. "Don't foget to get the tree today." She says before the kid drags her off.

"Daddy?" Lex says, still not knowing what the heck is going on. He goes to the bathroom and splashes water on his face. "I must be dreaming." Lex said before looking up into the mirror and seeing Lillian's face.

"It is not a dream my son, you could have this. This could be your future." Lillian told him.

"How did I get here?" Lex asked.

"You were shoot and given a second chance to see what you could have, if you make the right choices." Lillian told him as Lex looked at her and then back toward the bed.

*Kent House.*

"Ho, ho, ho." Clark says coming down in Santa Claus suit as Lana stands there laughing. "Hello, there, would you like to tell Santa what you want for Christmas?" Clark said sitting down and motioning Lana to sit on his lap.

"Well, there's just so much Santa. However, what I really want, more than anything is a real christmas. One with a real tree, egg nog and most of all, Clark Kent." Lana said as Clark smiled.

"That can be arranged." Clark said, superspeeding outside and getting the Christmas tree and taking off his Santa suit. "Wish granted." Clark said, going up to her and kissing her lightly on the lips.

"I knew Santa would come through." Lana said.

"Always for you." Clark told her and they kissed again, before Lana broke it.

"Let's decorate the tree." Lana said taking Clark's hand.

"Okay." He said smiling as they made their way over to the tree and took out the decorations.

"I just want to thank you for letting me spend Christmas with your family." Lana said as she put on decorations.

"No need to thank me, Christmas is a time to spend with the people you love and if you weren't here, Christmas would just be another day for me." Clark said as Lana stopped decorating and went over to give him a kiss. "What was that for?" Clark asked.

"For loving me." Lana told him.

"And how could I not?" Clark said as they looked lovingly into each other's eyes. Martha then walked in.

"Oh great, you're decorating the tree. Clark, why don't you go get the angel of the top of the tree." Martha said as Clark and Lana kept their eyes on each other.

"Okay mom." Clark said stroking Lana's cheek before getting the angel as Lana smiled happily into his direction, before starting to decorate again. Lana had the whole tree done, when Clark came back.

"Here you go." He said handing her the angel.

"Okay, give me a lift." She said as Clark smiled and lifted up, she placed the angel on the top of the tree.

"Looks great." Clark said.

"It does." Lana said.

"I wasn't talking about the tree." Clark said with a grin.

"I know." She said giving him a seductive look and started to walk away before Clark wrapped his arms around her waist.

"I love chirstmas." He said kissing her on the head.

"So I do, but i love it a lot more with you." She said turning around to face him as they stared into each other's eyes again as Clark's cell phone went off.

"How did I know that would happen?" Clark said as Lana giggled and shrugged her shoulders.

"Merry Christmas Chloe." Lana yelled to the phone as Clark picked up the phone.

"This better be good Chloe." Clark said.

"Clark, I need your help at the Daily Planet." Chloe said.

"Now?" Clark asked.

"Please, it's an emergency." Chloe begged.

"Fine." Clark said and hung up the phone. "Chloe needs my help at the Daily Planet." Clark told Lana.

"It's okay, just call me." Lana told him.

"Alright, but don't move those lips." Clark said placing his fingers on her lips and superspeeded away as Lana smiled.

Lexmas, Part 2

Clark and Chloe are walking down the Daily Planet stairs, Clark has just arrived.

"Someone better be dying Chloe." Clark said as Chloe smiled.

"No, i'm afraid not, but I did call you here for an important reason." Chloe said.

"What is it?" Clark asked.

"Well, the Daily Planet put me in charge of cordinating a toy drive for underprivileged kids. I got more donations than anyone had ever gotten before." Chloe said, pretty proud of herself.

"And the problem is.....?" Clark asked.

"The problem is, the teammsters are on strike. Can you believe that? Who goes on strike during christmas eve?" Chloe asked shaking her head.

"Get to the point Chloe." Clark said, knowing she was avoiding asking him whatever she had in mind.

"I need you to deliever the presents." Chloe asked of him.

"Okay, shouldn't be a problem. How many do you need me to deliever?" Clark asked as Chloe opened the doors to show him the presents.

"Oh, just a hundred thousdand or so. Give or take." Chloe told him.

"Good bye Chloe." Clark said turning around.

"Oh, come on Clark, please. You know you want to help these kids and i'm sure Lana won't mind." Chloe said.

"Chloe.......This is our first christmas together and I wanted it to be special. Now i'm going to have to call her and tell her i'm playing santa claus." Clark said.

"Clark, she'll understand, do it for the kids." Chloe said as Clark couldn't bear hurting the kids, because a few bums don't want to work.

"Okay, just let me call Lana." Clark said as Chloe clapped her hands.

"Excellent." She said smiling as Clark called Lana.

"Kent residence." Lana said cheerfully.

"Lana." Clark said.

"Hey Clark, when are you coming back?" Lana asked.

"Ummm, I don't know...." Clark said trailing off.

"Clark, what's going on?" Lana asked firmly.

"Chloe needs me to deliever presents to underprivileged kids, because the teammsters are on strike. I don't know when i'll be back." Clark said, sounding disappointed.

"It's okay Clark, we'll just make the best of the time we have together when you come back." Lana said sincerely.

"Are you sure, you're okay with this?" Clark asked.

"Off course I am, I want you to be able to help people with your gifts. If someone needs your help, I want you to help them, even if that means leaving me for a short time." Lana told him as Clark couldn't help but smile over the phone.

"I'm so glad I told you everything." Clark told her.

"So am I, now go give those kids their presents. I'll be waiting here when you get back." Lana told him.

"Bye, my angel." Clark said.

"Bye, my santa claus." Lana said giggling a little before they both hung up.

"Here's the directions to the children's houses. Get on it." Chloe said patting him on the back, as Clark superspeeded away.

*Smallville Medical Center.*

Lionel walks in to see Lex, laying unconious on the hospital bed. The doctor joins Lionel. "How is he?" Lionel asked.

"Not good, he lost a lot of blood and the chances of him walking again are slim to none." The doctor told Lionel.

"What about emergency surgery?" Lionel asked.

"What about it? It's an option, but the chances of him surviving it are very slim." The Docter said.

"But he will walk again, if it is successful?" Lionel asked.

"Yes, but..." The doctor said, until Lionel was cut off.

"Do it." Lionel told him.

"I will not." The doctor sternly told him.

"If you don't, I'll find someone who will." Lionel said walking out, leaving the doctor to think.

*Lex's dream sequence.*

Lex drives into his driveway with a huge tree tied to the roof. Lana and her son come out to meet him. "Kind of big, don't you think?" Lana asked smiling.

"Yes, but I just couldn't resist. When I was a kid we never had a real christmas and every time I see a real big tree like this, I can't help but think it's what christmas is all about. Can you understand that?" Lex asked.

"Off course I can honey, it's the same thing you tell me every year." Lana said smiling as Lex returned her smile and they hugged. They then brought the tree into the house. Lana walked ahead as Lex and his son brought the tree in.

"Come on big guy, don't make me do all the work." Lex said to his son as they put the tree down. Then Lex noticed a gift basket. "What's that?" He asked Lana as she picked it up.

"It's a gift from your dad. Just his yearly reminder of what you gave up seven years ago for a happy life. A life that i'm very happy to be a part of." Lana said taking his hand.

"I gave up my money?" Lex asked confused.

"Yes and you got back a lot more back." Lana said taking in their child with the other hand as Lex smiled.

*Metropolis.*

Clark is superspeeding around Metropolis giving the children their presents when one child see's him putting a present under she tree. "Hey, you're not Santa Claus." She said to him.

Lexmas, Part 3

Clark walks out onto the roof as Santa turns to him with a bottle of alcohol in his hand. "Santa?" Clark sayys skeptically.

"The one and only." Santa replied.

"What are you doing?" Clark asked.

"Thinking about jumping off this building." Santa said.

"Why?" Clark asked.

"Because the Christmas spirit is dead. All everyone cares about is taking, taking and taking. No one cares about giving anymore, so why should i care?" Santa replied.

"I'm sure some people still care." Clark said.

"Maybe, but I haven't seen them. Anyways, what are you doing out here, instead of spending your first christmas with the girl you've loved since you spied on her through your telescope." Santa asked.

"I wasn't spying......I was........Admiring the view." Clark said nodding his head as he knew Santa didn't buy it. "I'm here tonight, because someone needs to deliever the presents to the kids." Clark told him.

"So you're giving up giving up your christmas to deliever presents?" Santa asked.

"Yep, me and my friend Chloe are giving up our christmas time to get these kids their presents." Clark explained.

"Well, maybe the christmas spirit isn't dead afterall." Santa got up and went to the edge. "Yeah, maybe..." He trails off as he falls off the building. As he's falling, Clark superspeeds on the edge and catches Santa. "Thanks Clark." Santa says.

"Anytime Santa, just stay off the bottle." Clark said as Santa nodded and walked away.

*Smallville Medical Center.*

Lionel walks into Lex's room, the doctor is already there checking vital signs. "Have you made your decision doctor?" Lionel asked.

"Yes and I won't do it." The doctor said.

"Okay, then I want Lex moved to Davis Hospital in Metropolis." Lionel told him.

"I can't allow that, he could die on the way there." The dcotor told him.

"Well, you have no choice. I have an order here thats states I have the right do that and I will." Lionel says holding up the paper and motioning men to come in and transfer Lex.

"He could die." The doctor says almost in a pleading manor.

"Better to die, then live his life as a cripple." Lionel said as the men took Lex out.

*Lex's Dream.*

Lex and Lana arrive at the Kent's house. Clark opens the door. "Well if it isn't Smallville's favorite couple, the Luthurs. Lana you look great and so do you Lex." He says smiling as he and Lana embrace. Then Clark and Lex shake hands.

"Clark, where's Chloe?" Lana asked.

"Over there." Clark says pointing toward Chloe.

"Okay, you two have fun." Lana says smiling and then walks away.

"How's it going Lex?" Clark asked.

"Quite weird in fact, but i don't want to talk about me. What are you up to?" Lex asked.

"Well, the job at the Daily Planet is quite time consuming and it is strange living alone in Metropolis. Although, I do enjoy working with Chloe, not everyone gets to work with one of their best friends.." Clark tells him.

"The Daily Planet huh? You were always good at snooping around." Lex says smiling as Clark returns his smile. Then Chloe comes up to him and hugs Lex. Lex looks really taken a back by this.

"Lex, I never got a chance to thank you for helping me with that toy drive." Chloe says as Lex has no idea what she's talking about.

"You're welcome." Lex says.

"I don't how you turned into such a great guy." Chloe says smiling at him as Lex returns it. Moments later.

"Hey Lex, come over here, I need to show you something." Jonathon says as Lex approaches him. As a man passing by says hi senator to Jonathon.

"Senator?" Lex asked.

"Yep and as senator you get certain privileges, so I wanted to show you this." Jonathon says taking out a plaque, that says Lex is the humanitarian of the year.

"Wow, i don't know what to say." Lex says in disbelief.

"Can I have everyone's attention please?" Jonathon says to everyone in at the party. "I would like to annouce to you the humanitarian award winner, our very own, Lex Luthur." Jonathon says as everyone claps. Martha gives Lex a kiss on the cheek as he looks in shock. Lex then goes to Lana.

"I need some air." He tells her as she nods and he walks out on the porch.

"This could be your life." Lillian says from behind him.

"Did I really give up my money and lose to Jonathon Kent for senator?" Lex asked.

"You frofieted the race to him and you did give up your money. You changed your path and became the man I know you could be." Lillan told him.

"I...." Lex begins before Clark interupts him.

"Lex, who are you talking to?" Clark asked.

"No one or myself, i guess." Lex says turning to the sky.

"Anything bothering you?" Clark asked.

"No, I couldn't be happier." Lex tells him.

"Well, you have everything to be happy about. A beautiful wife, a growing kid and one on the way, a perfect life." Clark tells him.

"What happen between you two? Between you and Lana, you two were so in love." Lex asked.

"I wish I had the answer to that question Lex. In the end, I guess I wasn't ready, I couldn't give her what she deserved." Clark told him.

"And I could?" Lex asked.

"Yes, you became a man she could love and a man I call my best friend." Clark says he and Lex smiled, then Martha comes out.

"Lex, it's Lana." She says as Clark and Lex rush into the house.

*End of dream sequence.*

Back at the Kent house, Lana is staring out through the window as Martha stands next to her. "It's tough sometimes." Martha tells Lana.

"I know and I understand, it's just I wish he was here. I guess i'm selfish, I want him to myself." Lana tells her.

"You're not selfish, you're in love and it's christmas, the time to be with the people you love." Martha reasures Lana.

"I promised myself that I would be okay with this to. I know this is his life and I want him to be able to save the world, but I want him here too." Lana says.

"So do I, just try to stay strong honey. Remember what I told you, he needs you, just as much as you need him." Martha says as she takes Lana into a hug.

Lexams, Part 4

Chloe is sitting at her computer, looking up addresses to children's houses when Santa walks in. "I'm glad to see the Christmas spirit is still alive." He says as Chloe looks skeptically at him.

"Can I help?" Chloe asked.

"No, can I help you? I heard you and your friend Clark were taking up my job, delivering presents to the kids." Santa tells her.

"Yeah, we are." Chloe replies.

"Well, I was hoping that would let me help. I do have experience, just look at the suit." He says with a smile.

"I don't know." Chloe says, still buying the act.

"The worse that could happen is get away with a few squirt guns." Santa says.

"Okay, we do need the help. Now I...." She says, but before finishing she turns around and see's that the gifts are gone.

*Davis Hospital in Metropolis.*

Lionel watches from a window as the doctors perform their emergency surgery on Lex.

*Lex's dream sequence.*

Lana is holding her recently born child in her hands, while laying on the hospital bed as Lex looks on from her side. "I can't believe you made that." He tells her.

"No, we made that." She tells him, handing him the baby. Lex looks at it adoringly, when suddenly Lana bends over in pain.

"Lana, Lana!" He says as the nurses rush in and take Lex aside.

"We need to stabilize her immediately. Get him out of here." The nurses says referring to Lex, as the other nurses escort Lex out of the room.

*Lex's mansion.*

Lex rushes into the mansion, very emotional as Lionel stares at his laptop. "Dad, I need your help." He says.

"After turning your back on me for seven years, you come to me now, asking for help?" Lionel asked him.

"It's Lana, she's dying, we need to transfer her to Metropolis." Lex tells him.

"Not my problem." Lionel says as Lex looks at him with rage, slamming his laptop shut.

"She's my wife, the mother of your grandchildren." Lex emphatically told him.

"I have no son." Lionel says as Lex looks back at him in disbelief. "You are the fool who turned your back on the money and power that would have allowed you to safe your wife." Lionel tells him as Lex looks at him not knowing what to say.

*Back to the hospital.*

Lana is laying on the hospital bed, her vital signs are very low as Lex kneels at her side. "You can't die." Lex says in tears.

"It's my time." Lana says almost in a whisper.

"I love you Lana, please, don't leave me." Lex says.

"You're a good man Lex, I love you too, don't ever change." Lana says before dying as Lillian appears behind Lex.

"How you let this happen? I don't want another life of pain." Lex says to her.

"It was her time and you're not getting a life of pain, you're getting one of love." Lillian tells him.

"EVERYONE I HAVE EVER LOVED HAS DIED. First you, then Jullian, now Lana and there wasn't anything I could do about it." Lex tells her in tears.

"Death can't take away the memories, can't take away the happiness of the past seven years. You can be happy and be loved, it's your choice my son. All I did was show you the door." Lillian tells him as Lex stares at her, tears in his eyes.

*End of dream sequence.*

Lex shoots up from his hospital bed as he looks around and then sighs, before leaning back in his bed.

*Daily Planet.*

Clark superspeeds in and finds no presents there. "Chloe, where are the presents?" Clark asked.

"You won't believe this." Chloe said.

"Oh, I have a feeling I will." Clark said sighing.

"Santa took them." Chloe told him.

"Ok, maybe I won't. Santa took them? The same Santa who I found drunk on top of a roof, trying to committ suicide?" Clark asked.

"I guess so, he came here and offered to help. I gave in, then I went to give him the addresses and when i turned around he was gone, as were all the presents." Chloe explained.

"Sounds good to me, now we have a party to get to." Clark said with a smile.

*Davis Hospital.*

Lionel walks in as Lex lays in his bed. "How are you feeling son?" Lionel asked.

"Fine, although i'm feeling a sigh of relief knowing that I just survived a surgery that had an 8% survival rate." Lex told him.

"It was a risk, but one I felt was worth taking. I know you wouldn't want to live as a cripple." Lionel told him.

"Or was it that you couldn't bear to have a cripple for a son." Lex tells him as Lionel is taken aback. "How dare you play God with my life." Lex says staring a hole through him.

*Kent House.*

Clark and Chloe walked in together as Lana approached them. "How did everything go?" Lana asked.

"It went surprisingly smoothly." Clark told her.

"It did and I'm glad we could help those kids. Now Lana, he's all yours." Chloe said to Lana as she got out of the way.

"All mine, huh?" She said inching closer to him.

"Always." He said leaning in for a kiss and their lips touch. Their kiss was soft at first and began to heat up, before Martha spotted the snow falling.

"Hey, it's snowing." Martha said as everyone rushed outside. Lana went ahead of Clark and when Clark got out there, he wrapped Lana in his arms.

"Nothing like a white Christmas." Lana said.

"Merry Christmas Lana." Clark said.

"Merry first Christmas together Clark." She told him as they shared a short kiss.

"Why don't we sneak off to the loft?" Clark asked.

"What about the party?" Lana replied.

"Forget it." Clark said taking her by the hand and leading her out to the loft.

*Davis Hospital.*

Lex is staring out the window as the man who came by the mansion earlier, walks in. "I didn't think you would come so quickly." Lex tells him.

"Well, considering the situation, I thought it may be best." The man replies.

"Yeah, almost dying can do some things to a man. Make you realize things that you should have seen a long time ago." Lex tells him.

"What's that?" The man asked.

"That the most important things in the world, are money and power. See, when you have money and power, you can secure everything else. I want you to go ahead with what we discussed, find it, fake it, i don't care. I want to be senator, I want it all." Lex tells him.

"Consider it done." The man says and then walks out. Lex continues to stare out the window at the falling snow as Lillian's face appears in the background.

*Clark's loft.*

"So, Clark what are we doing up..." Lana says before Clark interupts her with a kiss.

"I just wanted to do that agin." Clark told her as they smiled at each other.

"Is that the real reason or is there something else?" Lana asked.

"Actually, there is. Close your eyes." Clark told her.

"Okay." Lana closed her eyes as Clark superspeeded around and came out with a small box.

"You can open them." Clark says as she slowly opens her eyes and spots the box. "I thought it would be a good time to give you your gift." Clark told her.

"Oh Clark, what is it?" Lana asked as Clark opened the box.

"It's a heart neckalace." Clark told her.

"Can I try it on?" Lana asked.

"Off course." He said as he walked behind Lana and placed the neckalace around Lana's neck. After he placed it on, he turned to face her again as Lana felt the neckalace.

"It's beautiful." Lana said, becoming emtional.

"I got it for you, because I wanted you to know that no matter where I am or where you are. That you will always have my heart and that it will always belong to you." Clark explained as Lana began to cry.

"Clark...." Lana said crying.

"Not exactly the reaction I was looking for. Please stop crying, I can't take it when you cry." Clark said wiping away some tears.

"It's just, this is the best gift anyone has ever given me, I love it. I love you." Lana said bringing him into a deep kiss.

"Now that was the reaction I was hoping for." Clark said as Lana smile and kissed him again gently on the lips. "Oh and look inside the heart. " Clark told her as Lana opened it up and it read "Clana Forever" with a heart around it.

"I'll never take it off." Lana said as they embrace. "There just one thing wrong." Lana said.

"What's that?" Clark asked confused.

"I don't think my present can compete with that." Lana told him.

"It's okay, the only gift I've ever wanted was you." Clark told her as they kissed again.

"I'd still like to give you one anyways." Lana told him.

"Okay, i'm sure whatever it is, i'll love it." Clark told her.

"Your turn to close your eyes." Lana said as Clark did and Lana went to get her present. She came back with a picture. "You can open now." Clark opens and takes the picture. It's a painting of Clark and Lana kissing under the same tree they kissed under three years ago. There's also a heart in the tree, that says Lana loves Clark.

"Wow, it's.......amazing." Clark said staring at the picture.

"It took me a while to find the right colors and shapes." Lana told him.

"It's perfect, I couldn't have imagined anything better." Clark told her, as they leaned in and kissed passionately.

"Lost" Part 1

Lana slowly opened her eyes, awaking in a place where she never wanted to leave. She curled herself up in Clark's plaid blankets and tried to go back to sleep. When Clark walked in with a tray full of breakfast. "Good morning, thought i'd bring you some breakfast in bed." Clark said smiling as he set the try in front of Lana and took a seat next to her on his bed.

"Wow, Clark this is a surprise. When did you become so romantic?" Lana asked as Clark pretended to be in shock.

"Haven't I always been romantic?" Clark asked folding his arms.

"Clark, your idea of our one month anniversary was to stay in my apartment and kiss all night, plus other things......" Lana told him, raising her eyebrows.

"Okay fine, i'm not the most romantic person, but I do have my moments. Do i need to remind you of my Christmas present?" Clark asked as Lana looked down at her necklace.

"Yes, you do have your moments and i wouldn't try this necklace or those moments for anything." Lana said, pulling him into a kiss.

"Good, because this is just beginning Ms. Lang. This week, I plan on showing you how romantic I can be and I want to create as moments as we can during our vacation." Clark said.

"Really? What do you have planned?" Lana asked.

"Well, first off, I have us going on a horse ride at 12. Having a picnic under our tree after that and to end the day, a romantic dinner in the loft. Oh and to top things off, i've got my parents to go away for the night." Clark said with a seducetive grin.

"Having naughty thoughts, are we Mr. Kent?" Lana asked.

"No, well, maybe a little, but i really just want this day and week to be perfect. Just you and me, like it always should be." Clark said smiling.

"You continue to amaze me." Lana said love struck.

"Why?" Clark asked.

"Because just when I think I can't love you anymore than I already do, you come out and do something like this. Which makes me love you even more." Lana said as she kissed him gently on the lips.

"You're worth it, now eat up, because we have a big day." Clark told her, kissing her on the head, before leaving as Lana looked adoringly toward the door.

*Kent kitchen.*

Clark walks down a huge smile on his face as his parents clean up their breakfast. "When's the last time you made us breakfast Clark?" Martha asked.

"Sorry mom and dad, but you know I love you and I just want to keep reminding Lana that i love her." Clark told her.

"That's very sweet of you honey, but i'm sure you don't have to prove anything to her." Martha told him.

"Maybe so, but i like to, she deserves it, especially after all we've been through." Clark explained.

"That she does and so do you." Martha said as they shared a smile.

"Now son, remember, behave yourself tonight. We're leaving as a favor to you, because of all you and Lana has been through. However, I don't want to walk in and see you to sleeping together." Jonathon told him.

"No problem dad and I want to thank you guys for allowing me to do this. I just want me and Lana to have a romantic day together, just the two of us. I promise that I will control myself, even though i will need all my Kryptonian strength to do that." Clark told them.

"Okay, we trust you." Joanthon said placing a hand on his shoulder before beginning again. "And don't forget, enjoy yourself." Jonathon told him.

*Back upstairs.*

Lana is picking out clothes to wear. 'Hmmm, i need something casual, yet sexy. I mean he does deserve sexy for everything he's going to do today and what he has already done.' She continues to search, when she hears a ringing noise. "Ahhh". She says, looking around, but there's nothing there and the noise stops. Lana looks a little shocked, but shakes it off and continues her search for clothes. When she's done, she walks downstairs and finds Clark waiting for her.

"You look beautiful as always." He said taking her hand.

"That's the look I was going for." She said smiling.

"Well, i think you've perfected it." He said as they leaned in for a kiss when Chloe knocked and came in.

"Perfect timing as always, Chloe." Lana said jokingly.

"Sorry, but just wanted to tell you two about a New Years day party coming up. Me and Lois are going, we wanted to invite you guys too." Chloe explained.

"Sounds like fun." Lana said.

"Lana....." Clark said whiningly.

"Come on Clark, we should go." Lana said.

"I wanted this week to be just us." Clark told her.

"I know and it will be, but we have to come up for air some time." Lana told him.

"I didn't think that was necessary." Clark said wrapping his hands around her waist and kissed her neck.

"Okay, i've had enough. I might have to take back that invitation if that's all you plan on doing during the party." Chloe said as Clark and Lana laughed.

"Sorry Chloe, we'd stiil love to go. Right Clark." She said nudging him.

"Yeah." Clark replied as Chloe clapped her hands together.

"Great and enjoy your alone time." She said before leaving.

*Luthur Mansion.*

Lex is finishing up a t.v. ad promoting him as senator when Lionel walks in clapping. "Bravo, bravo." Lionel says.

"Okay people, that's a rap for today." Lex tells them as they all leave.

"I must say Lex, that ad is inspiring, i'm sure it will have many people running to the polls to vote Luthur." Lionel said sarcastically.

"I hope there is a purpose to this visit dad, because just the pleasure of your company has worn out over the years." Lex replied with a grin.

"Well, i've decided to give one more shot at convincing you to reconsider this election." Lionel told him.

"Why would I do that? And secondly, when have I ever listened to you?" Lex asked.

"Because it will save you the pain of defeat." Lionel told him.

"So you think i'm going to lose? Big suprise." Lex said sarcastically.

"Come on Lex, it's the evil rich boy against the hard working farmer. Not to mention all the dirt on you Lex, what makes you think you can escape that?" Lionel asked.

"Because i'm a Luthur and we get what we want. Always have, always will." Lex said leaving the room as Lionel stared straight ahead, stricken by Lex's words.

I've writeen a bit of it Superman Lives On - hopefully will have enough to post update late tonight. As for the name, I need an abbreviation - it is too long to type. My name is SVsleuth, but I go by SV for short (except Nes calls me Mrs. Sleuth - & that's OK too). SmallvilleMan I call SVM for short. SuperNes I cal Nes or Nesse, ajfinn is aj, Cardinal is Card, etc. So we need a way to abbreviate your name, Superman Lives On: The Man of Steel. Which do you prefer: SLO, Supes, "S", S-Man, MOS??? Because if we can't shorten it, you will probably end up not beng addressed by name at all. It takes too long to type out whole long names. Let me know what you like for short. Thanks.

"Lost" Part 2

Clark and Lana are riding on their horses, hands together as they ride. "I haven't been out here in forever." Lana told him.

"I thought so, which is why I wanted to do this." Clark replied.

"I miss these days of riding out here, just me and my horse, thinking about life." Lana told him.

"What'd you think about?" Clark asked.

"This mysterious farm boy who I knew." Lana said smiling at Clark.

"Oh yeah?" Clark asked.

"Yeah, I wondered why he would never ask me out. Or why he acted so strange today or if I was falling in love." Lana explained to him.

"Sounds like a lot was on your mind." Clark said getting off his horse and helping Lana off hers as they made it to their tree, where their picnic Clark set up was waiting.

"A lot was on my mind. It usually is that way when you're in love." Lana told him.

"Tell me about it, especially when you've been in love with the same girl your entire life." Clark said.

"It must have been so hard, all those times, watching me from afar and not being able to get close, because of my necklace. I just hope I’ve been able to make it up to you." Lana said stroking his head.

"You most certainly have and I’d go through 12 more years of pain, just to replay this one year." Clark told her.

"And I’d take all days back of secrets and lies, just to replay the day you told me." Lana said as they leaned in slowly and kissed gently.

*The Talon.*

"So are we on for News Year day?" Lois asked.

"Yep, Lana is dragging Clark there." Chloe replied.

"I really don't see either of them as party people, no offense." Lois told her.

"Well, partying really isn't there thing, but I’m sure they could loosen up. If not, they'll just sit in the corner and make out. Either way, it doesn't hurt having them come with us, plus we're friends." Chloe told her as Lex walked in.

"Give me a small cappuccino and a muffin." Lex told Lois as she reluctantly went to make one.

"Who's the election going Lex?" Chloe asked.

"Good, but as you know, it's going to be a tough race." Lex told her.

"I hope you're not counting on our vote." Lois told him.

"Off course not, I know Clark's best friend and the girl who freeloaded off the Kents are voting for Mr. Kent." Lex said, staring at Lois.

"At least my head doesn't look like a cue ball." Lois snapped back as Chloe looked on amused.

"Just remember, this cue ball headed man is your boss and the next time you decided to have an attitude, you can start looking for a new job." Lex said, before turning and walking out. Chloe looked at Lois concerned.

*Kent House.*

Clark and Lana walk in, hand in hand laughing. "I can't believe you did that?" Lana said still laughing.

"I thought it would be fun." Clark said as stopped laughing.

"Trying to push my horse in superspeed, while I’m riding it, isn't fun. Especially when I got flying off it." Lana said sternly.

"I did catch you, didn't I?" Clark asked.

"Lucky for one, otherwise I wouldn't be to do this." She said, kissing him lightly on the lips.

"And that would permantely ruin my fun." Clark said grinning as Lana slapped him playfully.

"You and your dirty mind." Lana as Lionel knocked and came in.

"I hope i'm not interrupting." Lionel said as Lana and Clark broke a part.

"Can I help you, Mr. Luthur?" Clark asked, a little concerned about him visiting.

"Actually, I came here to help you or should I say warn you and your father." Lionel told him.

"What about?" Clark asked.

"I visited Lex earlier today and he gave me the impression that he would do anything to win." Lionel explained.

"Anything? Like what?" Clark replied.

"I don't know, but I don't think anything will stop him from trying to win this race." Lionel said as Clark and Lana shared a look.

"Thanks for the heads up." Clark told him.

"Just tell your family to be careful, i'm afraid the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." Lionel said before walking out.

"Do you think he's right Clark?" Lana asked.

"I really don't know, but it's probably best if we keep our space. I don't want anything to happen to you or my family." Clark said, staring lovingly into her eyes.

"Okay, but maybe we can help or do something." Lana said.

"It might be too late." Clark said as they looked sadly at each other. "Lets just forget this for now and focus on our romantic evening together." Clark told him, kissing her lightly on the lips.

"Sounds good to me." Lana said.

"Good, now why don't you go rest for tonight. I have to prepare and I want it a surprise, so no peeking." Clark said smiling as Lana nodded.

"Alright." She replied as they kissed again, but Clark superspeeded away. Just as Lana was walking up the stairs, she heard a ringing noise. "Ahhhh, what is that?" Lana said grabbing her ears.

"Come to the cave " The voice said.

"Who is that?" Lana said looking around frantically.

"Come to the cave " The voice said again as Lana still looked around, then took her keys and left.

"Lost" Part 3

Since Lana realized she had a lot of time on her hands, she decided to walk to the caves. She didn't know what to expect walking there, so she had her cell phone on speed dial toward Clark if she needed it. When she made it to the caves, she slowly walked in and saw light emerging from the cave wall. "Come to the light." The voice said as Lana slowly approached. "Do not be afraid." The voice said as Lana walked in.

*The FOS.*

When Lana walked into the light she was transported to the FOS. "Hello?" Lana asked, looking around, but not in shock, since she did this before.

"Welcome." Jor-el said.

"Have you brought me here to take my life?" Lana asked, trying to be brave.

"No, I haven't." Jor-el said.

"Then why am I here?" Lana asked, confused.

"I have brought you here to test my son." Jor-el told her.

"Test him? How?" Lana asked.

"By seeing how he reacts without the one he loves." Jor-el replied.

"Why would you do that?" Lana questioned.

"Because he needs to become stronger, he can't be preoccupied with these human emotions." Jor-el explained.

"But these emotions make him stronger, take them away and he doesn't become stronger, he becomes weaker." Lana told him.

"Perhaps you are right, but I must see this for myself. Kal-el's journey is that much important, not only to me, but to everyone." Jor-el said.

"What journey is that?" Lana asked.

"I can't reveal that, it can only be revealed to him, when he is ready." Jor-el told her.

"Okay, but how am I suppose to stay here and not freeze?" Lana asked, trying to warm herself.

"You will be taken care of." Jor-el said as Lana looked on worried about Clark.

*Loft, later in the day.*

Clark sat down at a candle lit table, with two plates, napkins and silverware. However as time wore on, Lana was no where to be found and Clark began to get worried. "Where is she?" He said to himself. Then he tried her cell, but there was no answer, seeing as how connection wasn't so good in the FOS. So he decided to try Chloe next.

"Hey Clark, what's up?" Chloe asked.

"Hey, do you know where Lana is?" Clark asked.

"I thought she was with you." Chloe told him.

"She was, but I told her to take a walk, so I could prepare dinner." Clark explained.

"Oh, well, I have no clue where she is. It's not like she has any where to go." Chloe told him.

"Alright, just keep a look out, I’m going to see if she comes back." Clark said.

"Okay, I will and try to stay calm, i'm sure that she is fine." Chloe said, trying to reassure him.

"Thanks Chloe." Clark told her and hung up. Clark would wait as the minutes and hours passed by. So much going through his head, 'Is she in trouble he thought?' and as more time passed he couldn't take it anymore. "I have to find her, i'm not just going to sit here with all these abilities and do nothing." He said and superspeeded out of the house. Clark later came back, his head down and distraught at not being able to find her. He checked every and that means every where. He superspeeded around the world, using his X-Ray vision and superhearing, but she still couldn't be found. Clark frustrated and worried at the same time, tried Chloe again.

"Clark, do you know what time it is?" Chloe said rolling around in her bed.

"Yes, but I don't know where Lana is." Clark told her as Chloe sat up and now became concerned.

"You mean she didn't come back yet?" Chloe asked.

"No and I checked every where Chloe. When I say every where, I mean it, abilities and all." Clark said frustrated.

"Okay, now you've got me worried. I wonder where she could be. It's not like Lana all of a sudden disappeared into the night." Chloe said.

"I know, it just doesn't make any sense and I also know Lana wouldn't miss this for the world. I swear, if anything happened to her, i don't know what I’d do." Clark said becoming emotional.

"I'm sure where ever she is, that she is only thinking of you." Chloe said, trying to cheer him up.

"What are you we going to do? I can't just sit back here, not knowing if she's safe or if she needs me." Clark told her.

"Honestly Clark, there isn't much we can do. I think the best thing of us to do, is wait until morning. I'll come by and your parents will also be back, we can come up with a game plan." Chloe said.

"What choice do I have?" Clark said sighing.

"Hang in there, Lana is a survivor, always has been." Chloe told him.

"You're right, i'll see you first thing in the morning." Clark said.

"I'll be there, now try and get some sleep." Chloe suggested.

"Bye." Clark replied.

"Bye." Chloe said as they hung up and Clark took one more worried look outside before heading upstairs.

"Lost" Part 4

*The next morning*

Clark sat up on his bed, how could he sleep? He just sat there all night, occasionally, superspeeding around Smallville, looking every where. It was no use, he couldn't find anything, couldn't find her. His mind was going in circles, it was the first time he prayed in his life. Pleading with God to let him find her and for her to be okay. He slowly made his way downstairs as he heard Chloe's car drive up. Chloe knocked softly and opened the door. "Clark?" She said, looking around as she finally spotted him.

"Hey Chloe." Clark said as she he took a seat.

"You didn't get much sleep, did you?" Chloe asked, looking concerned.

"How am I suppose to sleep?" Clark replied.

"I have a lot of faith in Lana, if she can get through the death of her parents, Nell leaving, the secrets and the meteor showers, she can survive anything." Chloe said, trying to reassure him.

"So do I, but she wouldn't just disappear like this. What if she needs my help? What if she's in danger? I WILL NOT SIT HERE AND DO NOTHING." Clark said raising his voice.

"And we won't do nothing, we'll find her. I have my friends at the Daily Planet working on it, Lois is checking every where and I’ve been searching myself." Chloe told him.

"Okay." Clark said as Martha and Jonathon walked in laughing.

"Very funny Jonathon." Martha said as she laughed.

"What? I still think we're young enough to do that." Jonathon said before catching Clark's expression. "Clark, is everything okay?" He asked as Martha looked around.

"Where's Lana?" She asked as Clark looked at her blankly.

"I don't know." He said in a low voice.

"You don't know?" Jonathon said.

"Yesterday, after we went horse ridding and had our picnic, I told her to talk a walk, while I prepared for dinner. But she never came back, I searched every where and nothing." Clark said lowering his head.

"Oh my, Clark..." Martha says, going over and rapping her arms around Clark.

"Do you have any idea where she could be?" Jonathon asked.

"No!" Clark said bluntly.

"Okay, calm down, son. We just have to keep looking." Jonathon told him.

"Where is there to look, i've looked every.....The mansion." Clark said his eyebrows.

"You think she's there?" Chloe asked.

"The last time I couldn't find her she was and I checked every where else. Plus, remember what Lionel said?" Clark said getting up.

"You think he would take her?" Chloe asked.

"I don't know, but I’m going to find out." Clark said opening the door.

"Want me to come?' Chloe asked.

"No, I’ll go myself, just keep looking." Clark said as he left, Martha, Jonathon and Chloe shared worried looks.

*The Mansion.*

Lex is shooting pool, when Clark barges in. "Lex we need to talk, now!" Clark says as Lex looks a little taken a back.

"Little early, isn't it?" Lex asked, taking another shot.

"I didn't come here for a house call. I came to find Lana." Clark told him.

"Lana? What would she be doing here?" Lex asked.

"I don't know, but this is where she was the last time I couldn't find her." Clark said.

"Oh, so you figure she's here this time? Sorry, she isn't." Lex said, turning his attention back to pool.

"Are you sure?" Clark replied.

"Are you saying I kidnapped her?" Lex asked.

"Would you? Is that who you are now? Your dad came by the farm and warned us, that you would do anything to win the race for senate." Clark told him as Lex put down the pool stick and put his hands on his waist.

"I would never kidnap her and I would like to help you find her." Lex offered.

"Okay, but I warn you, if you're lying to me, God help you." Clark said, glaring at Lex, before walking out and Lionel walked in.

"Nothing like a jealous boyfriend, eh son?" Lionel said grinning.

"Where is she?" Lex asked.

"What are you talking about?" Lionel asked as Lex grabbed him and showed him against the wall.

"WHERE IS SHE! Where's Lana?" Lex shouted.

"I didn't take her, kidnapping is not my style and why would I want her?" Lionel replied.

"Because you know my feelings toward her." Lex told him.

"I do, but also know her feelings toward you." Lionel said as Lex looked beat by that comment.

"So you didn't take her?" Lex asked.

"Like I said, I have no reason to." Lionel said, as they stared each other down.

*Kent House.*

Clark walks in, looking mad and sad at the same time. "How did it go, son?" Jonathon asked.

"He says she isn't there and I double checked that. She isn't there." Clark told them.

"I'm getting worried." Martha said.

"Me too, this just doesn't add up." Chloe said.

"We must be missing something here." Clark told them.

"If we are, i'm not sure where to look for it. If anyone would have found, it's you, with your powers and all." Chloe told him.

"I didn't though, so what good are they?" Clark asked.

"Clark, we will find her." Jonathon told him sternly.

"But will it be too late." Clark said, as look at them and walked away.

*Loft.*

Clark sits up in his loft not long after, looking out at the stars. When he hears his name. "Kal-el." Jor-el calls out.

"Jor-el..." Clark said and then superspeeded away.

Clark superspeeds to the FOS. "Jor-el." Clark calls.

"Hello, Kal-el." Jor-el responds.

"Why have you called me." Clark asked.

"Because it is time to start your journey." Jor-el told him.

"No, I can't." Clark said.

"Kal-el, you must not let these human emtions run you." Jor-el told him.

"These emtions are who I am and I will not go any where or do anything until I find Lana." Clark said firmly.

"Your purpose is of too much importance to be spent with this human, you must move on. You have to move on." Jor-el told him emphatically.

"I will not move on.....I can't." Clark said.

"Then you will be destroyed, because he will have no emtions, no care." Jor-el said as Clark stared down at his feet, knowing Jor-el is right that his enemies will have no emtions and will stop at nothing to destroy him, but also realizing something else.

"But what will it matter, what they do? I'll already be destroyed without her." Clark explained.

"I don't understand how these emtions can control you my son, they are your greatest weakness." Jor-el said as Clark shook his head.

"No, they are my greatest strength, because no matter how many times they knock me down or hurt me, loves keeps me getting up. I will never quit or be defeated, because I know i'm not only fighting for myself, but for the people I love. You can't understand that, I will never give up my love, not now and not ever." Clark explained and walked out.

*Kent House*

Clark walks in to see his parents, Chloe and Lex talking. "Hey Clark, just came by to help. I have my people checking every inch of Smallville for Lana." Lex said sincerely.

"I appreciate it, Lex." Clark said.

"But the bad news is that they're coming up empty. It's like she disappeared off the face of the planet." Lex told them.

"We just have to keep looking, i'm going for a walk. Maybe something will come up." Clark told them, as they nodded and he walked out.

*Streets of Smallville.*

Clark walked down the streets of Smallville lifeless, like a part of him wasn't there. He walked by the Talon, remembering all the times he and Lana had there. From the first time he asked her out, to the first time they made love. He stood there until he couldn't take anymore and continued walking.

As Clark walked down the streets of Smallville he came to notice a wedding shop. In the display, there was a fake man and woman holding hands. The woman dressed in a wedding dress and the man in a tux. Clark had always wondered if that could ever be him and Lana. In fact, it was his dream, but every time he dreamed it, he knew it might never come true. He knew his destiny held something in store for him and he didn't know how it would affect his relationship with Lana. He wondered secretly, if that day did come, if they got married, if he could give Lana everything she needed. He wanted too, but could he, was their love enough? Is it worth taking that chance? After everything he had gone through without her, he knew it was.

"Lost" Part 6

*Loft, later that night.*

Clark sits in his loft as Chloe enters. "I'd ask how you were doing, but i'd say it's obvious." Chloe said coming up the stairs as Clark stares at the stars from his couch.

"Chloe, have you ever felt something was meant to be, but at the same time thought it wasn't." Clark asked as Chloe sat down next to him.

"You're talking about you and Lana aren't you?" Chloe asked.

"Yeah." Clark replied.

"What makes you think you're not meant to be together?" Chloe asked him.

"I don't know, everything that has happened, everything we've been through and my destiny. I feel there's this whole story about me that's already been written and Lana's been taken out of it. That there's this greater force keeping us a part and that will always come between us. And no matter what we do or how hard we try we can't prevent it." Clark said, fear embrolled in his eyes as Chloe looked on sadly.

"You can never be sure what your life will bring you Clark, the only thing you can be sure of, is how you feel. No matter what the future brings for both of you, it can't take away your love for each other. I've seen Lana go to Paris and have her feelings stay the same toward you. I've seen you push Lana away, only to come back to her, because your love wouldn't let you pull away. Destiny or not, you love each other and that will never change." Chloe explained to him.

"I guess i'm just afraid, after not knowing where she is for a day and feeling like i'm going to fall a part, I don't know how I could survive without her." Clark confused to Chloe.

"We all get afraid of losing the ones we love, but we just need to remember that our love of them could never be lost." Chloe replied sincerely.

"Thanks Chloe, I really needed to hear this." Clark told her.

"Hey, that's what i'm here for." Chloe said smiling as she and Clark hugged.

*FOS*

"It is time." Jor-el's voice echoed through the Fortress as Lana appeared through the light.

"I may leave?" She asked.

"Yes." Jor-el told her.

"Is he okay?" Lana asked, in a concerned voice.

"No, he needs you." Jor-el told her as she nodded her head.

"Before I leave, may I ask you a couple of questions?" Lana asked of him.

"Go ahead." He replied.

"Do you now understand what I said before?" Lana wanted to know.

"I don't if I could ever understand human emtions as good as my son or you would want me to. I do know that my son has a deep affection toward you and it isn't something that can be taken. He is weakened without you, which worries me." Jor-el admitted.

"Why does it worry me?" Lana curiousity questioned.

"It worries me, because one day you may not be together. Like I told you earlier, his destiny is not yet known and not even I could know how it will affect the both of you." Jor-el confessed to Lana.

"I will never leave him, I love him. He means everything to me." Lana told Jor-el sincerely.

"You say that now, but that is something you can't promise." Jor-el said to her as Lana looked toward the sky.

"I could never leave him." Lana confused.

"I hope that is true, because he does need you. Now you may return to him." Jor-el said.

"Just one more question, does what happened the last day mean that you will not take the life of someone Clark loves?" Lana asked hopeful.

"I'm afraid not, what will happen as already been set into motion. No one can stop it." Jor-el confessed.

"I understand." Lana said sadly.

"Just remember, we learn from pain and it will only bring you two closer together. Now I will transfer you back to the caves, back to my son." Jor-el told her as she nodded.

*Kent House, later that night.*

Clark is sitting on the edge of his bed, staring out of the window when Martha walks in. "You really should sleep honey." Martha told him.

"I know it's hard honey, believe me i've been there." Martha said referring to all the times Clark was gone and Clark turned to her.

"I'm so sorry mom, is this what you felt like when I was gone all those times?" Clark asked.

"Yes, I was just as scared and worried as you were." Martha told him.

"How did you cope with it for so long? I'm falling a part and it's only been a day." Clark said.

"I believed and prayed that you would come home. Sometimes there's really nothing you can do, except for that." Martha explained.

"I just love her so much." Clark said as tears fell from his eyes, Martha took him in her arms.

"I love her too." Martha said as they hear a crack in the door downstairs.

"Clark." A voice called from downstairs as he lifted his head up quickly and superspeeded downstairs. He saw Lana from across the hall.

"Lana!" He said rushing to her in normal speed and lifting her into his arms.

"Thank you." Martha whispered toward the sky.

"Lost" Part 7

Clark slowly released Lana from his grasps as Jonathon and Martha came down. Clark gentle placed his hand on her cheek, holding back tears. "You have no idea how glad I am to be able to touch and see you again." Clark told Lana, looking deeply in her eyes.

"I'm happy to see you to." Lana said, placing her hand on his cheek as well.

"Where were you?" Clark questioned curiously.

"I think this would be better explained in the morning." Lana said as Clark nodded.

"Okay, as long as you're not hurt and you're here, everything is okay." Clark said smiling.

"I'm tired, so I’m going to go up." Lana said slowly removing her hand and giving him a small kiss before heading upstairs.

"Glad you're alright Lana." Jonathon said as she walked toward them.

"We're both very glad and happy that you came back safe." Martha told her as Lana made her way upstairs. Clark slowly reopened his eyes, still taking in her kiss, like it was their last.

"Mom, Dad, can I sleep with Lana. Tonight?" Clark asked, now facing them.

"Son, I'm glad she's okay, but I still don't feel comfortable with you doing this in our house." Jonathon explained.

"I don't want to have sex, I just want to know that when I go to sleep that she will be in my arms and not going any where." Clark said to them.

"I think that will be fine Clark, we trust you." Martha said as Jonathon nodded approval. Clark whispered 'thank you' and went upstairs to see Lana.

*Clark's room.*

Lana is about to slip into bed, when Clark walks in. "Hey." Clark said as Lana turned to him and smiled.

"Hey, what are you doing up here?" Lana asked, not really minding why.

"I was just wondering, with your permission. If I could sleep with you tonight, not the kind of sleep involving sex, just the one where I know you're safe in my arms." Clark asked.

"Absolutely, there's no a safer place for me than in your arms." Lana said, tapping the bed, telling him to come over. Clark and Lana then slipped into bed. Clark placed his arms over Lana, as they snuggled together.

"I love you Lana, I just wanted to know that." Clark said sincerely.

"I do know Clark, I always have and I love you too." She said kissing him tenderly on the lips and they fell comfortably asleep.

*The Next morning.*

Clark wakes up with a smile, but finds Lana missing. He looks around frantically, until Lana wakes in with breakfast. "I'm right here Clark, sorry to scare like that. I just wanted to make you some breakfast, seeing as how I heard you hadn't eaten lately. I thought it would be a good idea." Lana said, placing a small table on Clark's bed with food.

"Thanks and you're right, I could use some food." Clark replied, grabbing a piece of toast.

"I figure this is also as good a time as any to tell where I've been." Lana said looking him in the eyes.

"I'm all ears." Clark told her and stopped eating.

"I was at the Fortress of Solitude. Jor-el wanted to test you and try to understand what human emotions did to you. So he wanted to take away someone you loved, someone he thought was the most important person in your life." Lana explained as Clark looked upset.

"How dare he do this to me. I've tried to see him in a different light, I really have, but I'm convince more than ever, that he is a monster. If he was really my father or knew anything about me, he would never take you away from me. If he knew how much I cared about you, like you said, then he would have already known the result of his 'test'. How can I ever trust him to have my best interest at heart?" Clark asked in anger.

"I know this might seem strange, but maybe it was for the best Clark." Lana said as Clark looked confused and shook his head.

"How could forcing me to be without you, be good?" Clark asked, still upset.

"Because now he understands better, he now realizes that human emotions are needed and that without them, you're weak. Listen, I know what he did was wrong, but he does love you. He's just a worried father, trying to guide his son on the right path, don't blame him for that. I wouldn't want you to." Lana said sincerely.

"How can you be so good about this?" Clark asked, no longer upset.

"Well, just call it a leap of faith, but I actually think your father is a fan of us." Lana said looking away slightly.

"I'd call it a giant leap of faith." Clark said smiling in a joking type way.

"Ha, yeah, just don't be upset. This is new years eve after all." Lana told him.

"Oh right, we have that party tonight." Clark said sighing.

"I would really like to go, Clark." She said looking doughy eyed at him.

"Alright, but only because I like you." He said jokingly.

"Only like?" Lana questioned, then Clark superspeeded around his food and took Lana in his arms.

"No, love and only love." Clark said kissing her passionately on the lips as they sinked back down to the bed, kissing passionately.

*New Years Eve Party in Metropolis, Later that night.*

Clark and Lana explained everything to the Kents. Safe to say they were less than thrilled with Jor-el and his 'test', but they decided to stay cool. Lana was back and everything was okay, they just warned Clark again about Jor-el. Clark and Lana would also explain to Chloe what happen before the party. They all arrived at the party around 8 and had been there for almost three hours. Chloe and Lois were dancing together. Clark and Lana were talking, when Lex came over. "Glad to see you're okay Lana, you had us all worried." Lex told her.

"Yeah, sorry about that, but i'm here now and i'm safe." Lana said smiling.

"Lex, I just wanted to thank you for helping us to find her. That means a lot to me." Clark said extending his hand as Lex shook it.

"Don't mention it Clark. So, where were you exactly?" Lex asked as Lana gave Clark a quick glance.

"I was actually in the cave....." Lana said, pausing as Clark gave her a 'what are you doing' look. "I was looking at the symbols when I fell and got knocked out. I must have been out for a while." She told Lex as Clark gave a small unnoticed breath of relief.

"Wow, i'm just glad you didn't kill yourself. Try to stay out of the caves." Lex said smiling as he walked off and his smile disappeared. Lana turned to Clark.

"I saw you looking at me like that. You didn't think I would really tell him where I was, did you?" Lana asked folding her arms.

"Off course not, I just don't want Lex getting any ideas. Any at all, that you know anything about me or Kal-el." Clark told her in a whisper.

"And he won't, not from me." Lana said reassuring him.
Then the DJ came on.

"It's almost 2006, so we're going to have the last dance of 2005. Pick your partner and get out on the dance floor." The DJ announced.

"Lana, can I have this dance?" Clark asked sticking out his hand.

"You didn't even have to ask." She said smiling as she took his hand and they went on the dance floor.

Clark and Lana dance slowly, taking in every moment. Lana's head on Clark's chest, with Clark's arms wrapped around Lana. "You know, I couldn't think of a better son to express my feelings toward you." Clark whispered.

"Neither could I." Lana responded as she lifted her head slightly to look in his eyes.

Super update, SVM! So Jor-El is just trying to understand Clark.... I like that idea. Maybe all the things he did were just his way of trying to comprehend who Clark has become because of being raised by humans, and just how far his emotions influence his decisions.

And the Clana momnets were great, too.... kisses, dancing, asleep in his arms - so sweet..... PPMS! :)

Fanatic Part 1

*Kent House*

"Jonathon, I accepted you running as senator, but we just can't afford it." Martha told him.

"I think we can make this work, I don't need a campaign manager." Jonathon pleaded.

"If you want to win you need one, you can't do this by yourself." Martha explained as Clark and Lois came downstairs.

"What's going on mom?" Clark asked.

"Your dad thinks he run for senator without a campaign manager." Martha told Clark, while looking at Jonathon.

"Who needs some guy to run around for me and make up slogans i don't even like?" Jonathon asked.

"Dad, I agree with mom on this, you need one." Clark said, agreeing with Martha.

"But the problem is, we can't afford one. We need the money for other things, such as ads and promotions." Jonathon explained.

"I'll be your campaign manager." Lois offered as Clark laughed.

"You? What do you know about running a campaign? You can't even ruin your own life." Clark told Lois.

"Look who's talking. Anyways, Mr. Kent I think I can do. I'm very passionate, I work hard and get things done. Plus, I really don't want to see Lex win." Lois said.

"I don't know Lois, are you sure you can handle it?" Jonathon asked.

"I am." Lois said smiling.

"Okay, you're in." Jonathon told her.

"Wow, this should be interesting." Clark mumbled.

*Lex's mansion*

Lex is talking to his campaign consultants when a blond hair girl comes in. She goes right up to Lex. "Lex, hi, I'm Samantha, from Central Kansas. I'm the head of the Students for Lex Luthur center. I just had to meet you and inform you that things are going well." She said, obviously taken by the presents of meeting Lex.

"Nice to meet you Samantha and i'm glad you're doing your part in getting me into office." Lex said.

"Anything for my hero." She said, gazing into Lex's eyes as Lex smiles.

"Anything I can do for you, while you're here?" Lex offered.

"Well, I would like a picture. If that's okay with you." Sam asked.

"Sure." Lex said as Sam gave one of the men her camera. She and Lex stood together smiling as the picture was taken.

"Thank you so much Mr. Luthur." Sam said.

"Anytime, now I'm afraid I have to going." Lex told her as he walked out and met one of his men on the way.

"You have a call, Mr. Luthur." The man said handing him the phone.

"Hello?" Lex said.

"It's me, I have you want on the Kents." The man informed him.

"Good, I'll meet you in a couple of hours at your place." Lex told him.

"Okay." The man said as they hung up.

*Grandville.*

The man steps out of the phone booth as Lionel appears in front of him. "Good old Griff, I see you haven't lost a step." Lionel said with a smirk as Griff pulled out a gun.

"What do you want?" Girff asked pointing his gun at Lionel.

"To know what you know, to have what you have." Lionel said showing him a big clip of cash. Griff takes the money and hands Lionel the information. Lionel takes out a lighter and burns the papers as Griff looks on questionably.

*Later that night at Lana's dorm.*

Lana is working on homework and listening to her ipod as Clark wakes in. He smiles at her as she nods her back and forth to the music. She then starts to sing, "You love me but you don't know who I am....." Lana sings as Clark tries to stiffle his laughter. Then she finally turns her head and notices him.

"You're so cute." Clark said as Lana blushed.

"How long have you been standing there?" Lana asked.

"Long enough, why don't you sing for me?" Clark asked back.

"Because it's too embarassing and i'm not that good." Lana told him.

"I thought you were great, but maybe i'm biased, because I love you." Clark said, giving her a peck on the lips.

"You are biased, so what time does the movie start?" Lana asked going back to her desk for a second as Clark fell to the bed.

"In an hour." Clark said laying back on the bed.

"You look tired, long day?" Lana asked.

"I was with Lois all day, what do you think." Clark said as Lana laughed, going to the bed and going on top of Clark.

"Oh, well, maybe we can stay here tonight. I don't really feel like going out anyways," Lana said kissing him lightly.

"Yeah..." Clark said as they kissed again, he wrapped his arms around her as they kissed. They rolled over, still kissing when Lana stopped.

"Owww." Lana said as Clark quickly got up.

"Did I hurt you?" He asked, paniced.

"Not unless you're the one who put this pencil in my bed." Lana said showing him the pencil. She got off the bed and went to kiss Clark, when he stopped her.

"Maybe we should go to the movies." He said getting her coat.

"What's wrong Clark?" Lana asked, curious.

"What do you mean?" Clark asked back.

"I mean....Wow, this is uncomfrotable, but we haven't had sex, since you came back from the dead." Lana told him.

"Well I...." Clark said unable to respond.

"You can't tell me that you haven't noticed Clark." Lana said.

"Off course I have noticed, guys always notice..." Clark told her.

"Then what's the problem, you don't want to be with me anymore? Am I not attractive enough." Lana asked, sadness filling her tone as Clark took her by the hands.

"Lana, that could never be the reason. I love you and if I could, i'd spend every second of every day with you in bed. It's just a little more complicated." Clark sincerely told her as became relieved.

"Like alien complicated?" Lana asked as Clark nodded his head.

"I don't know if we can have sex and have it be safe for you." Clark told her.

"Do you think something will happen to me?" Lana asked.

"I don't know and I don't want to take that chance." Clark told her.

"Well, maybe it's just about adjusting to it. Maybe all you need is a little practice to control it." Lana said seducetively.

"Practice? No, I won't hurt you." Clark said as Lana put her hand on his cheek.

"You won't hurt me. We'll goes as far as we can and if something happens, then we can stop." Lana told him.

"Okay, but the first signs of anything happening, you have to tell me." Clark said to her.

"I will, now, where were we?" Lana said kissing Clark as he wrapped his arms around her.
