Chapter 28
Talon
Chloe lay there, not moving a muscle. "Pete, the police and the medics will be here in a few minutes," Lana said to him. "Come on Chloe, stop messing around," Pete said to her. "Pete, can I talk to you," Lana asked. "Sure," he replied as he and Lana walked to the other side of the room. "What happened to the guy that was attacking me," Lana asked. "His wounds started to heal, and when I heard you scream, I turned around," Pete said to her. "When I glanced back quickly, he was gone," Pete explained to Lana. "I never would have thought Lex would go so far," Lana told Pete. "I did, I've been telling you guys for years, but you never listened to me, until it was too late," Pete said to her, with anger in his tone of voice. "Pete, I talked to Lex before I came here, and he showed me bruises on his chest and a small one above his eye," Lana said to him. "Good, he deserves much more than that," Pete said to her. "He told me Clark did it in anger, and I'm not sure who to believe," Lana said to Pete. "Wha- how can you say that, Clark has done so much for us, and you're doubting him," Pete said to Lana, now yelling at her. "Pete, I--," Lana was cut off by Pete. "Lana, you can't seriously take Lex's side, especially over what happened," Pete said to her. Lana looked at Chloe's motionless body. "I'm not saying what he did was right, you should know me better than that, but it is possible that Clark, lost it, and attacked Lex," Lana explained to him. "If he really did "lose it', why didn't he go overboard when we were being tortured by those aliens, tell me why he never has gone out for revenge when it would make perfect sense, " Pete explained to her. "I don't know Pete, I'm sorry I doubted him," Lana said to him. Pete and Lana heard the sirens from down the street.
Talon
The door to the Talon was already open, and the cops and medics came right in. "What happened to her," Sheriff Adams asked them. "A guy who works with Lex was following Lana, and we got here a little after he did," Pete started to explain. "I tried to get him to stop, but he managed to get three shots off, one hitting Chloe," Pete told the sheriff as tears came down his face. "Where is he know," Sheriff Adams asked. "He jumped out of the window, and ran away," Pete explained. "You're telling me that a guy jumped out of a two story building, and walked away," Sheriff Adams asked. "Yeah, then we called the police," Lana said to her. "Ok, well this should be an interesting report," Sheriff Adams said to herself as she wrote down everything Pete and Lana told her. "Are you hurt Miss Lang?" "No, I'll be fine," Lana said. "Ok, well I'll let you two go to the hospital with your friend, and come down to the police station when you get a chance, ok," the sheriff asked as she walked back to her car. Lana and Pete went inside of the ambulance, and Pete watched as the medics put a needle in Chloe's arm. "Where are you Clark," Lana said to herself quietly, hoping Pete wouldn't hear her, but he did. Pete was wondering the same thing.
Florida
"I think I should get back, I have to get ready for my date tonight," Clark told Bart and Arthur. "All right bro, it was good talking to you again, we have to hang out more often," Arthur said to him as he shook Clark's hand and gave him a quick hug. "Get a room," Bart said jokingly. "Clark, hit me up if you want to race again," Bart said to him. Clark smiled at his comment. "I'll keep that in mind," Clark said as he shook Bart's hand. "This was fun, and I'll see you at the charity function in a few weeks," Clark told A.C. "Bye guys," Clark said to them as he turned around. Clark looked to see if anybody was looking, and sped off.
Clark zipped through Metropolis, and saw the Daily Planet. He wondered if he could ever be a good enough reporter to work there. Clark arrived home, and saw his parents sitting on the couch, a little worried. "Mom, dad, what's wrong," Clark asked them. "Son, Chloe was shot, and everybody has bee trying to call you, but you didn't answer," Jonathan said to him. "I was with Bart and Arthur," Clark told them. "Is Chloe all right," Clark asked. "We're not sure, but Pete said that she isn't doing so well," Martha told him. "I have to get to the hospital," Clark said as he sped off. Whoosh. "Clark, where the hell have you been man, we've been trying to call you," Pete said as Clark walked up to Chloe's room. "I was with some old friends, how is she," Clark asked. "Doctors don't know, the bullet hit an artery, and she lost a lot of blood," Pete explained to him. "Do you know who did this," Clark asked Pete. "No, I have no idea, all I know, is the guy was attacking Lana, and he was able to shoot Chloe before he jumped out of the window before healing himself and walked away," Pete told him, not telling him the part about Lex. Lana came up to them, holding two coffees. "Clark, where have you been," Lana asked as she gave one coffee to Pete and set the other down. The two hugged tightly. "If only I could have been there," Clark said to her as he kissed her hair. "The doctors don't know if she'll make it," Lana said to him. "Pete told me everything," Clark said to her. "I think we're dealing with another freak," Clark said to her. "I'm going to go to the library and see what I can dig up, let me know when she wakes up," Clark said to them. "We'll do that," Lana said as she kissed Clark. Clark super-sped to the local library, and noticed there was an available computer. "All I need to do is get into Chloe's account, and I should be good,' Clark said as he hacked into her account.
Pete stood by the window for awhile, and Jonathan came up behind him and put a hand on his shoulder. "Pete, she'll be ok, she's a strong girl," Jonathan reassured him. "I'm going to get some fresh air," Pete said to them. "Let us know if you want to talk Pete," Martha told him as Pete walked away. "Lana, where's Clark," Martha asked. "He's at the library, trying to find out who shot Chloe," Lana explained. "He told us to give him a call when she wakes up,' Lana said to them.
Pete pulled out his cell phone, and called a taxi. He also sent an email to Clark.
"Clark, I want you to know that you are the greatest friend anyone can hope for, even when you beat me in basketball. I want you to know that. I also want you to tell your parents that I am glad I am part of your family. This is what makes this so hard. I don't know if we'll see each other again, and you must understand what I must do. Tell my parents and brothers that I love them very much. And if Chloe survives this, I want her to understand that I had to do this. There is no other way. He will not stop until he crushes all of us, and you won't do what needs to be done, but I will, and I may go to jail for it, but it's a chance I am willing to make.
Sincerely, Pete Ross.
Pete sent the email, and closed his phone. He stood in the parking lot, waiting for the taxi to come. "God forgive me for what I am about to do, there is no other way," Pete said as he held his cross tightly. The taxi pulled up, and Pete opened the door. "Where to sir," the cab driver asked. Pete told him where to go. "That'll be three dollars, to each place," the cab driver told him. "Here's a ten, keep the change," Pete told him. "Thank you sir," he said as he drove where Pete told him to go.

CHAPTER 29
The taxi driver drove to the first place Pete wanted him to. It was his house. Pete pulled himself out of the cab, and looked at his house for awhile before walking in. Walking into his brother's room, Pete looked all over the place for something. "Where is it," Pete asked himself. Pete lifted the blanket and looked under the bed. Nothing. He looked everywhere for it. Pete walked over to the closet, and pulled out everything on the shelf. Making a bigger mess, Pete opened all the boxes and still couldn't find what he was looking for. 'Where the hell is it?" Pete yelled, angry that he couldn't find what he was looking for. He bumped a box, and a key fell from it. "Finally, I got part of it," Pete said to himself as he held up the key. He put the key in his pocket and walked down to his basement. Once he found the case, he opened it with the key in his pocket, and held the small gun in his hand. "There you are, you were hiding, weren't you?" Pete put the gun in his pocket and walked out side to the taxi. "Luthor Mansion, and step on it," Pete yelled to the cab driver. Pete looked at the town as he remembered all the good times he had with his friends. He and Clark playing basketball, he and Chloe sharing their first kiss. He remembered the four of them at the lake, and he and Clark pushed Lana and Chloe into Crater Lake. Tickling Chloe when she was mad at him. Getting stuck in the Ferris wheel at the Smallville Fair. He saw the newly built high school, looking a little different than it did before. It had a LuthorCorp emblem on it, because Lex had donated to the school, so the town would think he was a good person. How stupid could this town be? Were they all afraid of him, or was it because they loved his money, and didn't care how many illegal things he has done. Beating and killing those women. Even his father, who turned out to be somewhat of a good guy. Though, Pete never fully trusted Lionel, he knew Lionel was trying to make up for what he has done, and Lex was doing the opposite. "I should have done this along time ago," Pete said to himself, looking down at the gun. Without the driver seeing, he put six bullets into the tiny revolver, and had four more just in case. "Please god, don't let me miss," Pete said, once again holding onto his cross. Before he knew it, the taxi stopped at the mansion. 'Here you are, do you want me to wait," the cab driver asked. 'No, I don't think you'll want to be here for what will happen," Pete said to him. Pete reached into his pocket, and pulled out a five-dollar bill. "Thank you sir," the cab driver said to him, but Pete was already out of the car. Pete looked up at the mansion. "This is it, no turning back," Pete said to himself as he walked up to the gate. He put the gun back in his pocket before anyone could see. 'Can I help you young man," the guard asked. "I want to talk to Lex," Pete asked him.
"Can I have your name please," the guard asked Pete. 'Pete Ross, and tell him it's about Clark's health," Pete said to him. The guard called Lex, and nodded his head. "Ok, will do," the guard said to him. "Go right on in," the guard told him. After Pete went in, he looked around to find Lex. "Lex, where are you," Pete yelled out loud. "Why don't you come in my office," Lex said as he and Pete waked in. Lex put down some papers on his desk, and sat in his chair. "You said this was about Clark's well being," Lex asked him. "Not really, I just wanted you to know I know that you sent that guy to kill Lana, and he shot Chloe," Pete said to him. "That's a very bold accusation if you ask me, but I did send a guy to follow Lana, not to hurt her," Lex said to him. 'Enough of your lies Lex, you hurt Chloe by trying to hurt Lana," Pete said to him as he stood up. Lex stood up as well. "Pete, you're being irrational," Lex said to him. Without seeing it coming, Pete soccer punched Lex's cheek. "I know you're mad Pete, but this won't help Chloe," Lex said to him. 'Shut up, I've had it with you, ever since you came here, all you've done was screw with us," Pete said to him, holding his collar. "You've hurt Lana, Clark, and now you've hurt Chloe, and I won't let you hurt anyone else," Pete said to him. Pete struck him again, this time Lex falling. Pete went on top of him, punching way. Lex was able to get the upper hand after Pete threw in some punches, and rolled on top of Pete. Both of them were fighting away. "You think Chloe dying is the only thing I can do, how about your family," Lex said to him. Pete looked into his evil eyes, and pushed Lex off of him. Pete pulled out the gun, and Lex saw the gun. Pete aimed the gun at him, but Lex held Pete's hand away far enough that a bullet wouldn't hit him. Both of them were struggling, and the gun was getting closer to Lex's face. Finally, Lex was able to push off Pete. Pete, with the gun still in his hand, aimed it at Lex. Before he could get a shot in, Pete was shot in the back. Lex looked as Pete kneeled on the ground, ready to die. Pete raised the gun, and shot one bullet at Lex. Lex fell to the ground, putting his hand on his stomach. Lex's guard shot again at Pete, this time in the head. Pete fell to the ground. The guard rushed over to Lex, and asked if he was ok. "I'm fine, check him," Lex said to him. The guard put his hand on Pete's neck, and there was no pulse. "He's dead sir."
Smalliville Hospital
Clark super-sped to the hospital when he got the phone call. "Any luck," Lana asked. 'No, all I could find out was that his car crashed in a ditch two years ago, and that place was filled with kryptonite," Clark told her. "Where's Pete," he asked. "He went outside about an hour ago, and he hasn't come back," Jonathan told him. Clark went in to see Chloe. "Chloe, how are you," Clark asked as he gave her a hug. "The doctors said I should be fine in a few days," Chloe said to him. "Where's Pete," Chloe asked. "He went outside for some fresh air, he should be in soon," Clark said to her. "I hope he's doing alright, ever since we were tortured, he's been very protective of me," Chloe told Clark. Lana and the Kents walked in. "Hey Mr. and Mrs. Kent, Lana," Chloe said as they came in and Lana shut the door behind her. "How are you feeling Chloe," Lana asked her. "I have a bit of a stomach ache, but I'll be fine," Chloe said to them. "I called Lois, she'll be here in a few hours," Lana said to her. "Where'd she go,"Chloe asked. "She and Lucy went to the Metropolis Mall, or one of them," Lana said to her. "I wish I could have been there Chloe," Clark said to her. "Clark, stop blaming yourself for what happens, unless it was you that sunk the Titanic and lit up the Hindenburg," Chloe told him, putting her hand on his. "Thank you Chloe," Clark said to her. "All right, I need my Petey, where is he," Chloe asked. "I'll go find him," Clark told her.
Clark walked outside and looked for Pete. "Pete, where are you," Clark yelled, but couldn't find Pete anywhere. He scanned the parking lot, using his x-ray vision, but couldn't find him. Clark went back inside, confused. "Did you find him," Jonathan asked as he held two coffees in his hands. "No, I even used my x-ray vision, and I couldn't see him," Clark said quietly, so nobody could hear what they were talking about.
Clark and Jonathan walked into Chloe's room, when Clark turned his head a little, and heard the medics talking about something. "He attacked Lex Luthor, and one of his guards shot him back, and killed him. His name is Pete. Pete Ross." Clark was surprised to hear this. "Dad, can I talk to you," he asked him. "Sure son," Jonathan replied. "What is it," he asked. "I overheard the medics, and they said a Pete Ross attacked Lex, and one of Lex's men killed him," Clark explained to Jonathan. "Why would Pete be in the mansion," Clark asked. Jonathan knew the answer, but didn't want to tell Clark. "I'm sure he was trying to get some help for Chloe," Jonathan said. "No, Chloe said he's been on edge since they were tortured, maybe this was his breaking point," Clark told him. Jonathan looked through the window at Chloe. "I don't know what to tell you, we'll have to wait and see," Jonathan told him. A few minutes later, doctors rushed in Lex and Pete on stretchers. "Doctor, how are they," Clark asked. "Lex will be fine, but this one, well," the doctor didn't say anything else. Clark watched as they brought Pete's body into a surgical room. "Dad, how am I going to tell Chloe," Clark asked his dad. "We'll do it together," Jonathan said as they both walked in Chloe's room, with their heads down. "Did you find him?" Chloe asked with a happy grin on her face. Both men had sad faces on them, and Chloe feared the worst. "Where is he," Chloe asked. "He tried to kill Lex, and one of Lex's men, killed him," Clark explained to her. "No, don't lie to me Clark, don't do this," Chloe said as she started to cry. "I'm sorry Chloe, I really am," Clark said to her, putting his hand on hers. Chloe slid her hand from Clark's violently. "Why didn't you stop him, why didn't you protect him," Chloe said in anger. "With all your powers, and you couldn't save him, what good are you," Chloe said to Clark. Clark started to cry as well. Lana and the Kents took Clark out of the room. END OF CHAPTER 29

"Clark, Lex sent that guy after me," Lana told him. Clark was furious. "Why won't he just leave my friends and family alone," Clark asked aloud. "Stop the truck," Clark said. "What's wrong Clark," Jonathan asked. "I need to know something," Clark said as he super-sped to the hospital. "Where is he going," Martha asked. "I told him what happened, I guess Pete lied to him," Lana explained to the Kents. Jonathan turned the truck around, and headed for the hospital. Clark ran straight to Lex's room. "Lex, we need to talk," Clark said as he barged in. "What are you trying to do, give me a heart attack," Lex laughed a bit. "Oh yeah, you only do that to your dad," Lex told him. "I didn't come here to fight, I want to know the truth about what happened to Pete," Clark asked him. "He attacked me, tried to kill me, and my guard killed him to protect me," Lex explained. "Is that the truth," Clark asked. "Yes Clark, this time, it is the truth," Lex told him. "What about that guy you sent to kill Lana

CHAPTER 30
Clark, Lana and the Kents walked to the Kent's truck. "Why would she say those things," Clark asked his parents and Lana. "Son, she's in a very bad mood, she lost her boyfriend, and you should know she didn't mean what she said," Jonathan told him. "You can't save everybody Clark," Lana told him. Lana and Clark went in the back of the truck. "Why did have to be so stupid," Clark asked Lana, not expecting an answer. "He was upset, and he didn't know what else to do, "Lana told him as she let him put his head on his shoulder. "If Pete was mad, why did he attack Lex for no reason," Clark asked. "No reason, what do you mean, what did Pete tell you," Lana asked. "He said some guy was attacking you, and he tried to protect you, but instead the guy shot Chloe," Clark said to her. "Is that the truth," Clark asked. "Yes Clark, this time, it is the truth," Lex told him. "What about that guy you sent to kill Lana?" Clark asked with his tone of voice getting a bit deeper. "I didn't send him to kill her, I sent him to spy on her," Lex told him. "You just can't leave my friends and family alone, can you," Clark told him. Clark was about to leave the room when Lex said something. "Clark, I know we're not friends anymore, but I want you to know, I would have let Pete kill me, he was a good man, better than I am," Lex told him. "Save it Lex, I've heard it all before," Clark said as he walked out of the room. He saw the Ross's coming in, and walked up to them. "Clark, is it true, is Pete…. dead," Abigail asked him. "I'm sorry to tell you, but yeah, he is dead," Clark said to them. "Did one of Lex's men kill him, or was it Lex?" Pete's dad asked. "One of his men did, and he was only trying to protect Lex," Clark explained. "Is that what your buddy Lex told you," Sam Ross asked. "Mr. Ross, I am not friends with him, I was trying to get the truth from him, and I did," Clark told the Ross'. Sam Ross walked into Lex's room, and confronted him. "I won't let you get away with this, you may have taken my business, but you won't get away for murdering my son," Sam said to him. Clark tried to hold him back, but Sam pushed him away. "Mr. Ross, my father took your business away, not me, and second, your son was out of his mind, he accused me of trying to kill Lana, and instead it cost Chloe to get shot," Lex told him. "I will gladly pay for you and your family to talk to a therapist," Lex told them. "I don't want your money, I want you behind bars, then again, it didn't stop your dad from getting out, maybe I should put you where you belong," Sam threatened him. "My dad told me you and your brother were hot headed about the cream corn factory, and that you begged him to get it back," Lex said laughing. Sam was about to go after Lex until Clark intervened. "Don't do this," Clark told him. Sam walked away, and so did his ex-wife and sons. "Can you believe that family Clark," Lex could not stop laughing about it. "Laugh now Lex, but there will be a day that you lose, and all of your crimes and the things you have done will come back and bite you in the @$$," Clark told him. "And I will be there, watching as they take you away," Clark continued. "And I will shake the man's hand that puts you away for good," Clark said to him. "I'm innocent Clark, I don't care what you believe," Lex told him. Clark walked out of the room, but stopped as Lex said one last thing. "You will never defeat me, not you, and not some other man," Lex said laughing. Clark walked out as the Kents and Lana walked through the door. "Are you ok, w just saw the Ross'," Jonathan said. "I'll be fine, but I think I should talk to Chloe," Clark said to him. Knock knock. "Chloe, can we talk," Clark asked before coming into the room. "Yeah, I want to apologize for what I said earlier," Chloe said to him. The two hugged. "So, I'm guessing Lex won't be going to jail," Chloe asked. "It was self defense," Clark told her. "I'll miss him," Chloe said, wiping a tear from her face. "So will I," Clark told her. "If you don't need anything, I should let you sleep," Clark told her. "I'll see you in a few days Clark, thank you for being there," Chloe said as Clark leaned over to give her a hug and a kiss on her forehead. "Bye," Clark said as he walked out of the room. "How is she," Lana asked. "She'll be ok," Clark said to her. "What about you," Lana asked as she put her arms through Clark's. "I'll be fine, I think for once I am able to accept that I can't save everybody, but that doesn't mean I should stop trying," Clark told her. "Are we still on for tonight," Clark asked. "Yeah, but I'll need to go home right away and change," Lana told him. "I love you," Clark told her. "I love you too," Lana said as she kissed Clark firmly on the mouth. Jonathan and Martha looked back, and smiled. "Martha, stop staring," Jonathan said to her. "I wasn't, I..," Martha cut her self off when Jonathan gave her a look that meant he knew she was lying. Once the four arrived at the Kent farm, Lana and Clark kissed and Lana went back to her car. Clark went up to the bathroom and turned on the shower. After being in there for a half an hour, he quickly dried off with his super speed, and opened the door on the mirror. He dropped something into the garbage, and bent over to pick it up. As he did, noticed a weird thing that looked like a thermometer. Clark picked it up, and realized it was a pregnancy test, and it was positive. Clark threw it away when he heard his mom coming. "Just a sec," Clark said as he wrapped the towel back on him. "I have some fresh towels," Martha said to him. "I've got one here." "Ok," Martha said as she walked down the hallway to her room. Once Clark got dressed, he went downstairs and saw his parents sitting on the couch. "Mom, dad, is there something you want to tell me," Clark asked. "No, why," Jonathan asked curiously. "I don't know, you tell me," Clark asked. "Clark, did you cut yourself with silver kryptonite again," Martha asked. "No, I found a home pregnancy test, and it was positive," Clark said. "Clark, you and Lana have been…," Jonathan was cut off by Clark. "Dad, we already went through this, me and Lana are safe, I think," Clark said with a confused look on his face. "You mean to tell me Lana may be pregnant," Jonathan said as his face was turning red. "I'll ask her if she is, she would know, right," Clark asked. Martha sat there watching all of this and decided to intervene. "Jonathan, those tests are not one hundred percent accurate," Martha said, defending the Clana. "Even so, that means he didn't put a rubber on his, on his…ya know," Jonathan said, not wanting to say it. "I'll have Lana eat here tonight, that way we can talk more privately," Clark said to his parents. "You and Lana had better not be pregnant," Jonathan said to him. Martha walked upstairs to the bathroom. She lifted the toilet seat up, and sat down. After awhile of waiting, she threw up. It was a lot more than she had thought. She didn't throw up this much with her first pregnancy. After she drank some water, she went to her bed to rest for awhile. Before she laid down, she looked at herself in the mirror. Lifting her shirt up a bit, she rubbed her stomach, and smiled. END OF CHAPTER 30

CHAPTER 31
Kent Farm
When it hit 5:00, Martha woke herself up and walked downstairs to start cooking. "Hi honey," Martha said as she walked up next to Jonathan and put her arms around him. "You're in a real good mood, something happen," Jonathan asked. "Maybe," Martha replied. Clark was outside finishing his chores, when he got a call from Lana. "Hello beautiful," Clark said when he answered his phone. "Hi Clark, I'm going to be a little late, is that alright?" Lana asked him. "Yeah, that'll be fine, is everything alright?" "Yeah, I just need to pick up a few things, that's all," Lana replied. "I'll see you at 7:30, ok," Lana said to him. "Ok, see you then," Clark said to her. Clark hung up his phone and super-sped around the farm, looking to see if he got all the hay. After it was all done, he went to the loft. Looking through drawers, he found a picture of him and Pete tpgether, wearing their football uniforms freshman year. "I miss you Pete," Clark said to himself as a tear drop ran down his face. He wiped it off, and looked through his photo album. He found pitures of Pete and Chloe at the festival, him and a picture of Pete winning a pink bear for Chloe. He found the picture of him, Pete, Lana and Chloe that Chloe gave him for his birthday. That was the last time the four of them had really hung out together, and he missed it. "Why'd you do it Pete," Clark asked retorically. "Stop being such a girl Clark," Pete said behind him. "Hey Pete," Clark said to him. "Why'd you do it Pete, why did you try to kill Lex," Clark asked his friend. "Because Clark, he will never leave us alone, and I thought I could do the world a favor," Pete answered. "Besides, I know you'll be there for Chloe, and she's got Lois and Lana too," Pete said to him. "But I did love her, as much as you love Lana," Pete said to him, sitting down on Clark's couch. "That doesn't make it right, there are other ways to stop Lex," Clark told him. Pete didn't want to hear it. "Clark, Jor-El is giving me a few minutes on earth, I don't want to spend them fighting with you," Pete said to him. "Jor-El is doing this, I thought it was a dream," Clark said. "No, I have another twelve minutes, and I just wanted to be sure there weren't any loose ends," Pete said to him. "There aren't Pete, and I wanted to tell you, you have been a great friend," Clark told him as he gave him a hug. "I should say by to Chloe, but don't forget Clark, you still need to practice your jumpshot," Pete said to him. "Bye Pete," Clark said to him. Pete walked down the stairs, and looked back one last time. "Bye Clark," he said quietly, and disappeared.
Smallville hospital, Rm. 114
Chloe was flipping through channels, but the hospital had horrible reception and not many channels. “This looks interesting, a show about two men who are best friends, and eventually become enemies,” Chloe said aloud. “Chloe,” a voice in the dark said to her. “Who’s there,” Chloe asked. “I’m surprised you don’t recognize my voice Chloe,” Pete said as he came out of the shadows. “Pete, I thought you, Clark said you, what happened?” Chloe asked him confused. “I am dead, but Jor-El is giving me this time to say good-bye to my friends and family,” Pete explained. He took a seat next to her. “I talked to Clark and my parents, and I wanted to say good-bye to you last, so you could be the last thing I see,” Pete told her. Chloe was shocked at first, but looking at what she’s seen in the last five years, this is not weird at all. “Why did you do it Pete, why did you attack Lex,?” Chloe asked him. Pete was silent for a few seconds, and then started to explain. “Lex has ruined all of our lives in one way or another, and I didn’t want him to hurt anyone else, epecially after his assassin tried to kill Lana, and almost killed you,” Pete said to her, with tears running down his face. Chloe put her hand on his, and he looked up at her. “Pete, I’m not saying what you did was right, but I don’t blame you,” Chloe said to him as he kissed her hand. “Can I have one last kiss,” Pete asked Chloe. “Of course you can,” Chloe said as she pulled his face closer to hers. They shared a long and passionate kiss until Pete’s hand started to disappear. “No, not now,” Pete said as he took his lips off of Chloe’s and looked at his hand. “I need more time,” Pete yelled as he looked up above him. “I’m sorry Pete, but it is your time,” Jor-El said to him in an echo like voice. “Kal-El has been fortunate to have a friend like you,” Jor-El said to him, as a white light was starting to surround Pete’s body. “I love you too Pete,” Chloe said to him, letting his hand slip from hers. Suddenly, a void came out of nowhere and inside of it looked like an ice sculpture. Before Pete walked in, he looked back at Chloe, and smiled. Pete turned around and walked into the void. Chloe sat there, not knowing what to do or say. “Are you feeling alright Chloe,” Lex asked as he walked in. “What do you want Lex,” Chloe asked him with an angry tone in her voice. “To make sure you’re ok, and to let you know, I would have let Pete kill me, but my guard didn’t see it that way,” Lex told her. “I’m suppose to believe you,” Chloe said. “Chloe, I know I have done some bad things, but I want you to know, I am trying,” Lex said to her, sounding sincere. “Lex, that’s sounds so sweet,” Chloe said to him. Lex grinned a bit. “I am telling the truth, I want to be a better person,” Lex told her. “But if you think that I will be your friend again, you can go fudge yourself and die for all I care, now leave,” Chloe said to him. “If that’s what you want,” Lex said as he left the room.
KENT FARM
“Jonathan, Clark, I want to tell you something before Lana comes,” Martha said to them. They both glanced at each other, confused. “What is it dear,” Jonathan asked. “When we were in the Fortress place, we all were struck with that white light, and none of us thought anything of it,” Martha said. “But, I think it may have done something to each of us,” Martha explained to Clark and Jonathan. “Like what mom,” Clark asked. Martha stood there for a few seconds, then looked down at her stomach, and rubbed it smoothly. “Honey, are you saying,” Jonathan started. “I’m pregnant,” Martha said to him as she ran up and gave Jonathan a hug. Clark walked up to them and gave both of them hugs. “Martha, the last time you were pregnant, well,” Jonathan said but stopped, not wanting to continue. “This time will be different, I know it,” Martha said to them. Clark didn’t like the sound of this. “Mom, I know Jor-El and Lara are good people, but this may be another test,” Clark told them. “Clark, when that light flashed before me, Lara put her hand on my stomach, and then she was gone,” Martha told him. “They are giving us all a gift, and I thank them for it,” Martha told her son and husband. “We’ll have to wait and see, but if Jor-El ever comes for the baby, or for Clark, I will destroy the caves myself,” Jonathan told them. “How would you know how to do that,” Clark asked him. “Because, that white light gave me incredible knowledge, and Jor-El told me that if you ever die or become evil, I should destroy the Fortress,” Jonathan said to them. “But the question is Clark, what did they do to you and Chloe, Lana and Pete,” Jonathan asked him. “I don’t know, I don’t remember,” “Am I too late,” Lana asked as she opened the usually unlocked door. “No, Lana you’re just in time,” Clark told her. Clark pulled a chair out for her, and when she sat down, he slid it in for her. “Thank you,” Lana said to him as she bent over to give her a kiss. “Let’s eat,” Clark said to them. “I almost forgot, the Talon will be shut down in a few weeks,” Martha said to them. “Well, I heard that Lex is planning to move to Metropolis very soon,” Lana said to them. “Where did you hear that,” Clark asked. “I saw it in a paper at the store,” Lana replied. “It took him long enough,” Jonathan said to himself. After they were done eating, Clark and Lana excused themselves from the table. Clark picked up Lana and super-sped to the the loft. “Are you ok Clark,” Lana asked. “I don’t know, I guess it’s Pete, ya know,” Clark said to her. “Today I found some pictures of him, and I remebered all of the good times,” Clark said smiling. “What Pete did was wrong, illegal, immoral, and I agree with what he tried to do,” Lana said him. Clark was stunned to hear this. “Lana, he tried to kill Lex,” Clark replied. “People like Lex, should get what they deserve,” Lana told him. “I wouldn’t have done it, and you shouldn’t think it was right either,” Clark said to her. “Clark, kiss me,” Lana said as she jumped in his lap. “A little frisky aren’t we,” Clark asked as Lana put her lips on his. The two took there clothes off like animals, and Clark super-sped to his drawer where his condoms were. “Super flexible, fits all sizes,” the condom read. “Are you sure it’s big enough for your little Clark,” Lana asked as she rubbed her legs softly. “Is this making you heat up, because I am on fire,” Lana said to him. Clark sped back to her, and got on top of her. END OF CHAPTER 31 PART 1

CHAPTER 31 PART 2
After a couple of hours, Clark and Lana got off of each other and sat there. Lana was exhausted. “Wow, that was amazing, have you learned a few tricks,” Lana asked him, out of breath. “It’s a kryptonian relaxation technique, kind of like yoga, but way better,” “You should use it more often,” Lana said to him. “I love you,” Clark said to her, giving her a kiss. “I love you more,” Lana said to him playfully. “No, I love you more,” Clark said to her. “Lana, my hand is shaking,” Clark said to her. “Are you ok, what’s going on,” Lana asked, a little scared. Clark stopped shaking his hand, and looked at Lana. “No you don’t,” Lana said as she tried to get out of the covers before Clark got to her. Clark tickled her for awhile, and then let her breath after a few minutes. “ Now what do we do,” Clark asked. “We could go to Crater Lake, maybe go for a swim,” Lana suggested. “Let’s go,” Clark said to her as they got dressed. “Once they got there, the two walked to the edge of the pier, and watched the water for awhile. Clark held Lana as she grabbed onto his big arms. She felt so safe when he did that. Occasionally Clark would tickle her, but just a little so he didn’t ruin the moment. The two lay on the ground, watching the stars and saw a meteor fly by. “Make a wish,” Lana said to Clark. Playing along, Clark closed his eyes and pretended to make a wish. The only thing he could want now was Pete back. Lana put her hand on Clark’s chest, and he gave her a small kiss.
Clark woke up and realized that he and Lana fell asleep on the grass. He looked to his side, and saw Lana laying there, sound asleep. Not wanting to wake her, he quietly got up and went for a short walk. Still feeling as if what Pete did was his fault, Clark sniffed a bit and wiped a tear from his eye. Clark didn’t realize it, but he stood there for hours. As the sun came up beyond the horizon, Lana’s eyes opened slightly. At first, she thought she an angel. “Clark?” She asked as she put her hand above her eyes. “How long have you been standing there,” Lana asked him. He wasn’t entirely sure. “It was dark when I woke up, it that must have been a few hours ago,” Clark replied. “Are you ok,” Lana asked as she walked over to him. The lake was so beautiful in the morning. “I miss him Lana, I really do,” Clark told her as he tried to hold back tears. “Clark, come here,” Lana said as Clark held onto her tight. “I miss him too, I wish he didn’t do what he did,” Lana said to him as the two kneeled to the ground. “But he did what you have always done for the people you love, only he took a different approach,” Lana said to him as she wiped a tear from Clark’s eye, along with some of her own. “I would never kill someone Lana, that is the last choice, and even then, I don’t know if I could do it,” Clark told her. “Clark, when I killed Genevieve, I was shocked at what I did,” Lana explained. “But, Pete felt like he had no other option, and that nobody else would stand against Lex,” Lana said to him. “Killing Lex should never be an option, I just wish I could have been there to talk some sense into him,” Clark told her. “That’s why he didn’t tell you, he knew you would stop him,” Lana said to Clark as she wiped some tears from her eyes. “The wish I made last night, was for Pete to be back,” Clark said to her, with a small smile on his face. “I wished for Chloe to be ok,” Lana said to him. “I think we should visist her today, and stop by the Ross,” Clark suggested. “That’s a good idea,” Lana said to him. “Why don’t we get back to the farm, I think my parents might worry again,” Clark said to her, standing up and offering her his hand to help her up. “Thank you sir,” Lana said with a smile. Once she stood up, Clark swept her off her feet. “Are you ready,” Clark asked. “Hit it speedy,” Lana said to him. At that moment, Clark super-sped back to the farm. Once they were at the farm, Clark floated a bit to get to his room. Clark placed Lana on his bed, and went to take a shower.
After Clark and Lana took showers and got dressed, they walked down stairs. Lana was of course wearing a flannel shirt that was too big for her. “Goo, no ones up yet,” Clark said queitly. “In that case, I’ll grab the clothes that are in my car, I’ll be back soon,” Lana said to him. “Ok,” he replied. A few minutes, Lana walked in with a red tank top and blue jeans. “Is that knew,” Clark asked as he pointed to her belt. “It was my mom’s, she liked yellow,” Lana said to him as she looked at the belt as well. “I like how these colors go so well together,” Lana said as she walked up to Clark and gave him a kiss on his cheek. “I’m guessing you’re going to make breakfast, since your parents aren’t up yet,” Lana said to him. “We could always go to the Smallville Pancake House,” Clark suggested. “Let’s go then,” Lana replied.
Smallville Pancake House
“I’ll have two pancakes, with bacon strips and a glass of orange juice,” Clark said to the watress. “And you miss,” the waitress asked Lana. “I’ll have the french toast special,” Lana said to the waitress as she handed her the menu. “I haven’t been her for awhile,” Lana said to Clark. “Me neither, I think it’s been a year,” Clark said to her, gazing around like it was a place he’s never been too. Lana did the same. “The french toast specail, and two panckes with bacon and an orange juice,” the waitress said as she placed there plates in front of them.
“Looks good,” Clark said as he picked up his fork. After the couple ate, they decided to visit Chloe first. On the way to the hospital, they saw a sign that announced that Lex Luthor was leaving Smallville and moving back to Metropolis. “Should be a fun party, I wonder how many people will say what they’ve wanted to say for years,” Clark asked. “We can only hope,” Lana said, looking at the poster. “Chloe,” Lana said as she walked in first and gave her a hug. “Hi Lana, who’s this big guy, he looks familiar,” Chloe joked. “Some guy I found, I felt bad for him, so I picked him up,” Lana said, joining in. “He looks like an alien being that tall,” Chloe said. “I don’t think you want me to get started on height jokes,” Clark said to her. “What are you guys doing up so early,” Chloe asked. “We wanted to see how you were feeling, and wondering if there’s anything we can do,” Lana said to her. “Thank you guys, it mean a lot,” Chloe said to them. “Have you guys talked to Pete’s parents yet,” Chloe asked. “I kind of talked to them, when Pete’s dad tried to attack Lex,” Clark said to her. “Mr. Ross attacked Lex, did he win,” Chloe asked. Clark tried not to laugh, but gave a small smile. “I stopped him before he could do anything,” Clark told her. “There is something you guys can do for me,” Chloe said to htem. “What is it,” Lana asked. “I could really go for a lrge white mocha latte with a hint of vanilla and whip cream on the top,” Chloe said, with a smile on her face. Clark was a bit disgruntled. “I don’t think the hospital has that,” Clark told her. Lana playfully slapped Clark’s arm. “I’ll run to Starbucks, I’ll be back in a few minutes,” Clark said as he got up and sped away. Speeding through Smallville, Clark noticed something on the ground. It was a Smaallville Crows Jersey patch, only altered.
He liked how the “S” was, so he decided to keep it, and sped on to Starbucks. Once he came back to the hospital with three coffees, he tried to push the elevator button, but couldn’t. “Let me help you with that,” a girl from behind said to him. “Thank you,” Clark said to the girl. She was beautiful, Clark thought. Long dark hair, blue eyes, and her legs were up to her neck. She reminded him of Lana, but taller, and more spunky. “Whose the coffee for,” the girl asked.
the girl asked. “Me, my girlfriend and my friend, who I’m visiting,” Clark answered, a bit nervous. “I’m visiting a girlfriend of mine who had a few too many last night, and did some other substances,” the girl said to him. “I’m Lori by the way,” the girl said to Clark as she put her hand out to shake his hand. “Uh,” Clark said as he tried to shake her hand, while she was barely looking at him. “I’m sorry, I forgot about the coffees,” Lori said to him. “I’m Clark,” he answered. “Clark Kent, captain of the football team in your high school,” Lori said really fast, and acting as if she just met the president. “Yeah, that’s me, why did you go to Smallville high,” Clark asked. ‘No, I live in Grandville, and we would have been undeafeted if it wasn’t for you,” Lori said to him. “It wasn’t all me, my team helped a little,” Clark said with a short laugh. Lori started to laugh too. “Sorry to cut this short, but this is my floor,” Lori said to him. “I’m transfering to Central A&M, look for me next year,” Lori said as she walked away. “Wait, what’s your last name,” Clark asked. “Lemaris,” she said as she disappeared when the elevator foor closed. DING! Clark walked towards Chloe’s room, and heard Lana and Chloe laughing. It was good to hear Chloe laugh. “Hi Clark, Lana was talking about your first day of high school,” Chloe said to him. “When I tripped,” Clark asked. “You fell head over heels for her, literally,” Chloe said as she and Lana began to laugh again. “Good, making fun of me again,” Clark said as he put Chloe’s latte on her tray that was above her stomach. “Thank you Clark,” Chloe said with a devilish tint in her voice. “You’re welcome,” Clark replied. After they finished their coffee, Lana and Clark said bye to Chloe and headed to the Ross farm. “Do you think Chloe will be ok,” Lana asked Clark. “I’m sure she will be, it’ll take time,” Clark told her as he rubbed her hand with his free hand. “I didn’t expect to see Will doing work, expecially this early,” Clark said as he pulled up in thir driveway. “Hi Clark, hi Lana,” Will said as he loaded a bail of hay into the truck. “How are doin,” Lana asked him. “Alright I guess,” Will answered. “I just wish Pete would have killed Lex, we would have been better off,” Will said to them. “How are your parents,” Clark asked him. “My dad stopped by, to comfort my mom,” Will said. “Why don’t we go inside,” Will suggested. “Mom, dad, Lana and Clark are here,” Will said to them. In the living room, Abigail and Sam Ross were sitting on the couch. Sam held her in his arms, but it didn’t do much. “How are you two holding up,” Lana asked. “Not so good,” Abigail said in between crying. “If there’s anything you need, let us know,” Clark told them. “Thank you Clark,” Sam said as he grabbed a tissue and handed it to Abigail. “I was wondering if I could say a few words at the wake, if that’s ok with you,” Clark asked them. “Sure Clark, it’s fine,” Abigail answered. Sam nodded his head. “We’ll let you be, bye,” Clark said as he grabbed Lana’s hand and walked to the door. “Thank you for stopping by,” Sam said to them. Chapter 32
“I’m going to really miss him,” Clark said all of a sudden as they were almost to the Talon. Lana put her hand on Clark’s. “I’ll help you get this, just remember, you’re not alone this time,” Lana said to him. “Thanks Lana,” Clark said to her as he smiled at her. “I could never imagine what I would do if I lost a child,” Clark said aloud. “Neither could I,” Lana replied. “Do you know if you can have children, Clark,” Lana asked. “I don’t, I’ve only had sex with you, and we protected ourselves each time,” Clark said to her. “I could ask Jor-El, but I’m afraid what the answer would be,” Clark said to her. “You could always adopt, you turned out, alright, I guess,” Lana said playfully. “You guess huh,” Clark said to her smiling. “You’re ok too, I think I’ll keep you for awhile,” Clark said as he leaned over to Lana and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. “Home sweet home,” Lana said as Clark parked the truck. “Now what,” Clark said as he opened Lana’s door for her. “I need to get some sleep, and I have to clean up my apartment before Nell and Roger get here with the baby,” Lana said to Clark. “You never told me they had a baby,” Clark said to her, confused. “Nell told me she had her baby a few weeks ago, but wanted to keep it a secret,” Lana said to him. “Is it an alien, why would she hide it that long,” Clark asked. “Well, ya never know, look at Roger,” Lana said as she giggled a bit. “What’s the baby’s name,” Clark asked as Lana turned on the expresso machine. “Abby,” Lana answered. “Want me to make anything special before I do ten hours of cleaning,” Lana asked. “No, I’m good, but I can clean for you, I don’t mind,” Clark offered. “Nope, as much as I would appreciate your help, there are some things I need to do alone, plus you’d be going through my underwear and other private attire,” Lana said quietly. “Other attire is there something I should know,” Clark asked with a half grin on his face. “No, nothing at all, just my junk,” Lana said really fast. “Are you hiding a secret from me,” Clark asked. “I may have some of Isobel’s wardrobe left, and the sorority girls from Met U gave me a good gift last year,” Lana answered. “I’ll have to peek more often,” Clark said trying not to laugh. “So now you’re a super peeping tom, I’ll have to tell Lois and Chloe what you’ve been doing for awhile,” Lana said to him, knowing she won. “Alright, you win,” Clark replied. “I’ll let you go, bye,” Clark said as he gave Lana a kiss from across the counter. “Alright, give me a call later,” Lana said as Clark waved good-bye and left the Talon. On his way home, Clark thought about his parents and them finally being able to have their own kids. There was still a slight chance that Jor-El and Lara are acting good because they want something. What could they possibly gain from giving his parents a child? Out of nowhere, a violent storm hit Clark off the road. Trying to maneuver the truck with this sudden change in weather, Clark steered the truck off the road and got out of the truck. Looking into the sky, Clark saw a red cloud passing. “What could this mean,” Clark asked himself. Clark decided to fly up to it, and looked around to see who was watching. Seeing that nobody was there, Clark put his hands in front of him and flew to the red cloud. Once he reached the cloud, he was transported to the Fortress. “Kal-El, I wish not to tell you this, but Zod has escaped from the Phantom Zone,” Jor-El told him. “Zod was exposed to a gold meteor, and he lost all of his powers,” Jor-El stated. “So what’s the bad news, he can’t harm anybody right,” Clark asked. “He is mortal, but there is a way he can get his powers back,” Jor-El said to his son. “The key to your spaceship, the one that activates the caves, it has been stolen,” Jor-El told him. “Stolen, by who,” Clark asked. “Klax-Ur, a rebel from Krypton, and a disciple to Zod,” Jor-El told him. “There is more,” Lara said to him. “Braniac didn’t die, and he is helping Klax-Ur and Zod,” Lara explained. “He is promising the criminals in the Phantom Zone to help him, and in return, kill the son of the man who put them there,” Lara said to him. “How can I fight all of them, I could barely fight four of them, and now you’re saying there are more I have to fight,” Clark said. “Unless you can stop them from coming into your world, then yes my son, they will be an unstoppable force,” Jor-El said to him, with a bit of sadness in his voice. “How do I stop them,” Clark asked. “The only way I can think of is, to get hold of the gold meteor, and use it against them,” Jor-El explained. “But this course of action will take your powers away as well,” Jor-El stated. “So, the goldk will take my powers away, and theirs as well,?” “That is correct, and it is your decision whether you fight them or not,” Jor-El told him. “I love you my son, with all my heart, and I wish you luck,” Jor-El said. “Kal-El, we will always be with you, always,” Lara said to him. A bluish white light appeared before Clark, and he was back in his truck, still parked on the side. Clark sat there, not knowing what he should do. (They will destroy earth, and if it means my own life must end to save the planet, then it is what I must do) Clark thought to himself. This is my destiny, no one else’s, but my own. Clark started the truck and drove towards the farm. “Mom, dad, I need to talk to you,” Clark said as he opened the door quickly. “What is it son, you seem worried,” Jonathan asked. “Jor-El told me that Braniac is still alive, and that he and a rebel kryptonian, Klax-Ur, are working to free the other criminals in the Phantom Zone, and that the only way to stop them is with gold kryptonite,” Clark explained. “You mean Jor-El wants you to kill them,” Jonathan said. “No, he said it was my choice to make, that if I use the goldk against them, it will take away my powers, and I must defeat them as a mortal,” Clark told them. “Clark, you could die,” Martha told him. “I know, that’s what makes this decision so much harder,” Clark said. “No one else can help me, I must do this alone,” Clark told them. “Are you sure Jor-El isn’t making you do this?” Jonathan asked sternly. “He told me it was my choice, and I chose this,” Clark said. “This could be another test Clark, I don’t want you to die because of it,” Jonathan said to him. “This isn’t a test dad, this is about me, I’m the only one capable of stopping them,” Clark said to his dad. “I wasn’t completely honest about the gift Jor-El gave me,” Jonathan told him. “What do you mean,” Martha asked. “Jor-El gave me a gold rock, and I wasn’t sure what it was, until now,” Jonathan explained. “Dad, I need the rock to stop them,” Clark said. Jonathan was hesitant. “No, I won’t let you do it,” Jonathan said to him, pulling away from Clark. “Dad, what are you doing, the fate of the world is in my hands, and now it’s in yours,” Clark yelled at him. “This rock will steal your powers, and steal you away from us, I’m not ready to let you go,” Jonathan said to him. “Dad, you’re being selfish, I need the gold meteor,” Clark said to him. “It’s in the loft, in a metal safe, it’s a family air loom,” Jonathan told Clark. Clark super-sped to the loft, looking for the safe. Finding it, he picked it up over his head, and smashed it as he threw it down. All of a sudden, Clark felt weak, and fell to the ground. “I’m sorry son, but I can’t let you do this,” Jonathan told him as he walked up to him. “Your mother and the baby will need you,” Jonathan said as he looked around for something. “I knew I left the rock somewhere,” Jonathan said aloud, throwing papers and objects all over the place. Jonathan looked under the couch, and saw the metal box that he used to keep the greenk in. “There you are,” Jonathan said to the box. “One last thing,” Jonathan said as he walked over to Clark, and, put his hand in his pockets. “What..are you..doing,..with the key,” Clark said in a weak voice. “I’m going to get my powers back, and save my family,” Jonathan said to him. “I love you son, I want you to know that,” Jonathan said as he walked away. “No, dad, you can’t,” Clark said as he watched his dad walk away from him. “What the hell is he doing?” Clark thought. “Jonathan, where are you going,” Martha asked as she walked out of the house. “To fulfill Clark’s destiny, he shouldn’t die for this,” Jonathan said as he started the truck and drover away. Martha watched him leave, confused. Martha paced to the loft, and saw Clark and the kryptonite on his chest. When she got about fifteen feet from him, she felt her baby in distress. She looked at her stomach, and it was getting bigger. She cried in pain, and could feel the baby was getting weak from the kryptonite. “Clark, the baby’s coming, and the kryptonite,…is hurting it,” Martha said as she layed down.
Jonathan walked into the caves, and put the key in the slot. A white light surrounded him, and he was transported to the fortress. Jonathan picked up a big white crystal, and noticed it glowed at his touch. “Jor-El, whatever you’re doing to Clark, I won’t let you,” Jonathan yelled. Jonathan was getting very cold, very fast, as Clark has not set the temperature in the fortress. “Jonathan Kent, this is Kal-El’s choice, and it is his alone,” Jor-El said to him. “Clark could die, I won’t let him do it, not when I have the chance to stop him,” Jonathan said to him. “What is it that you want,” Jonathan asked. “I want the powers you gave me three years ago, and I will stop the kryptonians,” Jonathan asked him. “And if you fail, it is not my responsibility,” Jor-El told him. “If I fail, then there is no hope for humanity,” Jonathan said to him. “I do not condone what you are you doing, but if you insist,” Jor-El said to him. The wind picked up, and Jonathan fell to the ground, almost passed out. Jonathan was lifted in the air, and three colors, red, blue and yellow shot through him. Jonathan fell back to the ground. “Forgive me Clark,” Jonathan said as he transported himself out of the fortress. Jonathan walked out of the caves, and looked up in the sky. Knowing the kryptonians were in space, he flew up as fast as he could.
Clark managed to get the greenk off of him, and went to his mom. “Mom, are you ok,” Clark asked. She was unconscious. Clark picked her up, and super=sped her to the hospital. He saw Chloe walking around. “Chloe, can you look after my mom,” Clark asked. “Sure, why what happened,” Chloe asked. “She’s pregnant, and the baby is growing fast, I need you to make an excuse, and to watch over her,” Clark told her. “Where are you going, and where’s your dad,” Chloe asked. “He went awol, and I need to find him,” Clark said to her. “I’ll tell you the rest later, but I need to go,” Clark said as he looked around and super-sped out of the hospital.
Clark stopped at the caves, and noticed the key was still in it. “I won’t let you do this dad, you need to be a father to my little brother or sister,” Clark said to him. “Like I care about any of that,” Jonathan said to him. Clark used his telescopic vision and looked at his eyes. “Braniac,” Clark said. “You’re still weak Kal-El, that is why I win,” Braniac/Jonathan said as he super-sped towards Clark and bashed him into a wall. “Come on Kal, kill me, or are you afraid that you’re earth daddy will die as well,” Braniac/Jonathan said to him. Clark shoved him into the opposite wall, leaving Braniac/Jonathan surprised. “Well, I certainly am impressed Kal-El, but let’s see what you’re really made of,” Braniac/Jonathan said to him as he soccer punched him, sending Clark back into the wall. Clark super-sped around and punched Braniac/Jonathan in the back, knocking him to the ground. “Stop fighting like a coward, use your own body,” Clark said as he threw Braniac/Jonathan into another wall. “Fine, I’ll use my old body, but try not to get sick, it still smells like a human,” Braniac/Jonathan said as Braniac came out of Jonathan’s body, and into his decaying form. “This world is mine Kal-El, you had a chance to rule with me, but that ship has sailed long ago,” Braniac said as he used his super-breathe to blow Clark backwards. Clark managed to walk through it, and punched Braniac into the wall. “You will never rule earth,” Clark said to him as he used his super=speed to punch him many times. “Braniac, you have left me no choice, and I am sorry,” Clark said as he picked up Braniac and flew up above him. Taking him into space, even Braniac could not handle space, and Clark threw him far into space that it would take a hundred years to get back to earth, and Clark would be waiting. Clark flew back to the caves, and made sure his dad was alright. “Dad, are you ok,” Clark asked him. “Yeah, son, but my head hurts like hell,” Jonathan said as he put his hand on the back of his head. “I’m glad I was able to stop Braniac from using you to kill the other kryptonians,” Clark said to him. Jonathan had an uneasy look on his face. “Son, I came here willingly, and I asked Jor-El for the powers,” Jonathan said to him. “Why would you do that,” Clark asked. “Because, I was afraid you might fail and that we wouldn’t know until they came and killed us,” Jonathan explained. “I’m sorry for using the kryptonite on you, I didn’t see any other way to protect my family,” Jonathan said to Clark.” I understand, but don’t do it again, agree,” Clark asked. “Agreed,” Jonathan replied. “I do have some good news though, mom is having the baby,” Clark said to him. “How is that possible,” Jonathan asked. “I don’t know, but the baby is affected by the kryptonite,” Clark told him. Jonathan looked at him with a puzzled look on his face. Clark helped Jonathan up, and the two headed for the truck. “Push Martha,” the doctor told Martha. “Ahhh,” Martha screamed. Martha pushed for a few more minutes, with Clark and Jonathan waiting in the waiting room. “Clark, how is she,” Chloe asked as she limped a bit. Clark used his superhearing to hear Martha. “She’s fine,” Clark said. Clark used his superhearing again. “Congratulations, it’s a girl,” the doctor said. Jonathan hit Clark’s head with a newspaper. “What,” Clark asked. “We wanted it to be a surprise,” Jonathan told him with a smile. Jonathan waited for a few seconds. “Are you going to tell me if it’s a boy or a girl,” Jonathan asked. “It’s a girl,” Clark replied. A few seconds later, a doctor came out and said that Jonathan, Clark and Chloe could see Martha and the baby. “Hi honey, how are you feeling,” Jonathan asked as he kissed Martha’s forehead and stroked her back, and then looked at his daughter. “Have you thought of a name,” Clark asked. “I like Chloe, it seems like a good girl name,” Chloe suggested. The Kent’s and Clark smiled at her remark. “How about Lois,” Lois said as she walked in. “What are you doing here,” Clark asked as he gave her a hug. “I came to visit Chloe, and they told me she would be in here,” Lois said as she walked over to Chloe and gave her a hug as well. “Mr. and Mrs. Kent, I would like to say that I am giving up my room, I got an apartment in Metropolis,” Lois said to them. “We’ll really miss you Lois,’ Martha said to her. “Not all of us,” Clark said under his breathe. Lois gave him a stern look, and then ignored him. “Now, I know you tried your best with Clark, but you have a second chance with the new baby,” Lois retorted, getting back at Clark. “That hurt,” Clark said sarcastically. “Besides Lois, I don’t think the name Lois Kent would make a good name, especially since we don’t want her to be associated with you,” Clark retorted back. Lois thought to herself, Lois Kent. Nawh, doesn’t sound like a good name anyway. “How about Jessica Kent,” Jonathan suggested. “After your mother, I like it,” Martha said. “Can I hold her,” Clark asked. “Of course you can,” Martha said as she handed Jessica to Clark. She smiled instantly when she looked at Clark. “The famous Kent charm,” Chloe retorted. “I still don’t see it,” Lois said. But, deep, deep in her heart, she knew she liked Clark a little. “Clark, did you call Lana,” Chloe asked. “I forgot,” Clark said to them. Everyone had a shocked look on their faces. “Clark Kent forget to call Lana,” Lois said.Clark handed Jessica over to Chloe. “Hi there,” Chloe said in a sweet voice. Jessica smiled at Chloe, and put her little hand on Chloe’s face. Clark called Lana twice before she answered her phone. “I’m really busy Clark, I’ll give you a call tonight, ok,” Lana said to him. “Is she coming,” Chloe asked. “No, she has to clean still, but she’ll call me later,” Clark told them. “Alright, daddy’s turn to hold her,” Jonathan said as he walked over to Chloe. “She’s beautiful, just like her mother,” Jonathan said as he looked over to Martha. Martha smiled at his remark. She had what she could ever hope for. “Clark, could I use your phone for a second,” Martha asked. “Yeah, why,” Clark asked, handing his phone to his mom. “I want to call my dad, and tell him about the Jessica,” Martha said as she dialed the number. “Hello, dad,” Martha said loudly. “I can barely hear you,” Martha said while she closed one ear. “You can be here tonight, ok,” Martha said. “I think I got disconnected,” Martha said, handing the phone back to Clark. “Lois, would you like to hold her,” Jonathan asked. “I..don’t …,” Lois said as Jonathan handed the baby to her. Lois was hesitant at first. “I’m surprised she’s not crying,” Clark said. Chloe smacked the back of his head slightly. “Shut up Clark, she likes me,” Lois said as she smiled when she looked at Jessica. “Wow, she’s so tiny, and fragile,” Lois said as the baby smiled. “Hello cutesy wootsy,” Lois said in baby talk. Jessica started to giggle. “Great, now Lois will want to stay because the baby likes her,” Clark said quietly. “I wish I could, but I’ll be in town only for the day,” Lois replied. “As much as I hate to let her go, I have to get Chloe home,” Lois said as she handed the baby back to Martha. “Where are we going,” Chloe asked. “It’s a surprise,” Lois replied.” Ok,” Chloe said confused. “I’ll walk you two out,” Clark said as the three left the room. The three walked to Chloe’s room to get her stuff. “I need to get changed, so if you don’t mind,” Chloe said, looking at Clark. The two left the room and let Chloe get dressed. “Do you want children,” Clark asked out of the blue. “With my failed relationships, I doubt I’ll even be married, why,” Lois asked. “You seem like a natural mother, Jessica likes you,” Clark said to her. “Is that a compliment, smallville,” Lois asked. Clark smiled a bit. “I guess it was,” Clark replied. “Well, thank you,” Lois said to him. “You seem like you’ll be a good father to Lana’s children,” Lois said to him. “Wha- what,” Clark said startled at her comment. “Come on smallville, high school sweet hearts, live happily ever after,” Lois said to him. “Yeah, happily ever after,” Clark said to himself. “I’m ready,” Chloe said as she came out of her room. “Yeah, let’s go,” Lois said as she grabbed Chloe’s bag. “Make yourself useful Clark,” Lois said as she handed the bag to him. Chloe laughed at this. “Thanks Lois,” Clark said sarcastically. “Bye Clark, give me a call tomorrow,” Chloe said as she gave him a hug good-bye. “Lois, come on, give him a hug,” Chloe joked. “Very funny, I didn’t miss him that much,” Lois said to her. Clark waved as the two girls left the parking lot. “RING! “Hello,” Clark said when he opened his cell phone. “Clark, I couldn’t get a hold of you at your house, but I just wanted to let you and your parents know that the wake is on next Saturday, and the funeral is on Sunday,” Sam said to him. “Thank you, we’ll be there,” Clark said to Sam. “Where’s Jessica,” Clark asked when he got back to Martha’s room. “The doctors are doing some tests, but she’ll back soon,” Jonathan told him. “Mr. Ross called, he said the wake is Saturday, and the funeral is Sunday,” Clark said to his parents, and he bowed his head down a bit.
“Son, if you want to talk about what happened, you know we’re there for you,” Jonathan said, putting a hand on Clark’s shoulder. “Thanks dad,” Clark said as he gave his dad a hug.
Saturday the Wake
“Pete Ross was the greatest friend anyone could hope for,” Clark began. “I loved him like a brother, and I will miss him greately,” Clark read. “He changed my life, and for that, I thank him.” “I want his parents and brother to know, that I and my parents are here for anyone who would like to talk.” “Thanks for being a good friend Pete,” Clark said as a tear came down his face. “I have had a few boyfriends, but I will remember Pete the most,” Chloe began. “It took me a few years to notice him but I was glad I finally did,” Chloe stated. “He loved me so much, and-,” Chloe stopped as she began to cry. “I’m sorry, I promised I wouldn’t do this,” Chloe said wiping the tears from her face. “Pete will be loved and remembered by me and my family, and I will always love him,” Chloe ended.
Conclusion. 4 months later. Lana, Chloe, Lois, Clark and the Kents stood by Pete’s grave. “I’m glad we do this every month,” Chloe said, trying not to cry. “So am I,” Clark said, rubbing her back a little. Jessica woke up in Martha’s arms. “Jessie, it’s ok,” Martha said as she tried to put Jessica back to sleep. “Pete,” Jessica said. “She said her first word, oh my god,” Martha said with amazement. “I thought it would be Clarkie,” Lois said. Everyone laughed at her remark. Clark gave her a small nudge. Pete Ross 1987-2006 The End

Merry Christmas. Yeah, a little late. Wait, thanks to liberals, we have to be politically correct. Happy holidays. Because they believe that we shoul;d point out the people that don't celebrate it in America(I heard it was a cool country, btw) I don't get it. Why? There's more of us, we overpower, they deal with it. Kind of like the flag. If it was up to them, kids in school can't say GOD because there should be a separation of chruch and state. Newsfalsh liberals, there is! Woah am I off track.

So how'd you guys like this story? After I'm done righting my One Tree Hill fanfic, I'll be writing a sequel to this, and a sequel to Superman Returns, and possibly another one of SV. I might even make another OTH fanfic, it all depends on my schedule and stuff.

I'm not sure if I'll make a Superman Returns sequel b4 or after the sequel to Reassurance. I still have alot of writing to do on OTH. Let me know what you think of that one. Its in the Creative Endeavors section, and hardly anyone goes in there. But I will make a sequel to this someday.

Its been a year and a half, and I'm not sure if I'm able to write another one as I'm trying to write my own novel, which has nothing to do with Smallville or Superman. I was thinking maybe having the story take place five years later or something and it happens after S8.
