Why E.T. is a classic why make another? It's like the new Indiana Jones movies they shouldn't be made.

Why don't Lucas and Spielburg listen [Not that they are the only ones but they are the worst] nobody wants anymore! Is it just that they are greedy and they want more money. If so, that makes me !

Just one of the reasons a lot things that werent understanble in Revenge of the Sith were dealt with in The Clone Wars cartoon seires. More money.

I always thought Speilberg never wanted to do an ET sequel. That's what he said when he re-released it.

I just didn't like the touched up version. It was nice of him to include the original version in the DVD set.
Unlike Lucas...

Yeah UNLIKE Lucas. The only way i've found you can get the originals is on VHS.

Some say ET is a sequel to Close Encounters of the 3rd kind.If done well,a sequel to ET might be good.Certainly nostalgic.Everything else has had a sequel-2001 A Space Odyseey-Star Wars-Back to the Future etc.Wonder how many of the old cast would come back.

Overall I would probably agree Sierra-however Speilberg and Barrymore hardly need the money.Maybe they really want to make the sequel-they both know that a half-assed job will make them both look bad.

Some movies just don't need a sequel.

Not really. They can't recapture the magic of the original.

Thats very true. When ET came out Star Wars had only been out a few years.ET was unique for its time-just as Star Wars and the 1st Superman movie. It was a certain magic, that with films now using CGI and other stuff, people are used to.

And too much time has passed. AS cool as CGI is, I liked the puppets of movie like Star Wars, Neverending Story and ET.

Well,Id have to say Gollum in LOTR was done very well.I havent seen Neverending Story in a long time, but i dont offhand remember the fx being as good as ,say,Star Wars.I remember the close-up of the kid flying on that creatures head or shoulder.

The Luck Dragon was cool and I still think it's cool even though I know it's a puppet. I want to reach out and pet it.
