Here is my second fan fic., I would really appreciate any advice or just any replies would be nice. I hope you enjoy it...

Title- Journey
Author-Clana-Follower06 (you can call me Kristin)
Rating-PG-13
Spoilers-none

(A hospital in Metropolis, for patients in recovery)

Images of the nights events rattled through her broken mind, the crimson blood flowing from her delicate mouth, large patches of dark purple bruises covering her stomach and face, and the painful image of the man she thought she once loved working his way between her legs and forcing his self on her, burrowing his tongue deeper into her throat practically choking her.

All this roamed through her mind while she lies on the bed of the hospital, she didn’t know where she was, and she didn’t know whom she was. All she knew was what had happened so many year’s ago, it almost seemed like a heart wrenching nightmare, but it was her only clue to her past. However terrible it might be she was determined to use it to help her in her journey to who she is, or at least... who she was.

-----------------------------------

(Smallville)

A small sigh had escaped from the mouth of a man staring out into the shadows of the night sky; he was a man, a simple man. At least that was what he drove himself to believe, in fact, he wasn’t a man or in any way ordinary for that matter. His name was Clark Kent, son of Jonathan and Martha Kent. At least that was what he wanted to be known as, but to his dismay, his name was Kal- El, son of Jor and Lara El. He had his whole life planned out for him, but he only discovered the plan after many years of looking to the stars, trying to find his place on this Earth. It wasn’t exactly a plan, but more of a destiny, a word he came to despise. Because of his so-called “destiny”, he lost the one person he cared for the most.

The small sigh that had left his mouth hovered in the bleak air before him, awaiting its “destiny”, would it fade off into the far reaches of the Earth’s atmosphere? Or would it just simply disappear? Clark wished his life could be as simple as the life of a wisp of air, free to leave everything behind, because everything was nothing.

-----------------------------------

(Back in Metropolis)

For the six years she has lived in this hospital, the hospital down the street from the coffee shop on the corner of Essex and Berring, across the street from Woodward Elementary School, she has always wondered what it would be like outside of these brick walls, beyond the confines of the leaf-covered courtyard. And now she is finally getting her chance.

“Hello Miss Lang, how are you this morning?” a fragile voice asked, that derived from the corner of a narrow room.

This voice belonged to the secretary of the hospital, Rachel Phagan, a plump, but kind woman. She had watched so many women pass in and out of these corridors, but none have ever been like that of Lana Lang. No one knew exactly what had happened to her, but whatever it was it has been eating her alive from the inside out. Mrs. Phagan had always been jealous of Lana’s fairness and beauty ever since Miss Lang arrived at Bushbury Hospital for women. But that jealousy had never intervened between the two. In the time they both spent together, they had become very close. Rachel was very much like a mother figure to Lana, and would never let anything or anyone harm her... again.

“Hello Mrs. Phagan.” Lana managed to utter with a slight smile attachted to theweak reply.

Lana loved Rachel like her own mother, and she always managed to be herself around her. But today Lana was a bit uneager to speak with Rachel because she was scheduled to leave Bushbury and return to Smallville today. She didn’t know why she was going to Smallville, but something about the name sounded vaguely familiar. And right now the only thing she could trust were her instincts, and they were telling her to go to this small town known as Smallville.

How do you like it so far? Please reply, because the more replies I get the sooner I will update!

Wow, sounds good, but there's so many questions. Why was lana in a hospital for SIX YEARS? That's a long time for someone who just got raped and who raped her? Where's the timeframe also? I need answers, please update!

Okay here is the next section of the story. Thanks for all of you replies, I really appreciate it!

“Lana, are you feeling alright this morning?” Mrs. Bushbury asked, even though she already knew the answer to this question. Lana had never been the person that was able to hide her feelings, especially after her ordeal.

“Yeah, I feel fine” she lied, she felt terrible, and now she had to leave the one person she ever called a mother “it’s just that, I, um, I’m leaving today, for Smallville.” She said as she gripped her suitcase that had been hidden under the desk for their whole conversation.

“Smallvile?” Curious to know more about why Lana would would be leaving for a small Kansas farming town when she didn’t even know where she was from or even if she had any family. Lana had been eighteen when she arrived at Bushbury and was now twenty-four, but there was still no development with her case.

“I don’t know, it’s just something about the name that seems so familiar, but I still can’t place it, no matter how hard I try. If you’ve ever lost your memory you’d know what I was talking about.” Lana finished her sentence with a sarcastic tone, trying to get a laugh out of Rachel, no luck.

“Lana, honey, I’m going to miss you, you know that don’t you?” Rachel asked trying to sound strong for Lana, but failing miserably. She was afraid Lana might discover something that would truly hurt her, not just physically, but emotionally also. And she didn’t want Lana hurt.

“I know Rachel, and I just wanted to thank you for everything you’ve done for me here, I mean, without you I don’t think I would’ve ever remembered my own name.” Both of them laughed for a while at this comment, even though both of them knew it wasn’t funny. Because the first night Lana stayed here she had a terrible nightmare, and Rachel thought it must’ve been because of the rape. Whenever Rachel would walk past Lana’s room she would hear her yell out a name, there had been two male names and one female name, so Rachel had guessed that the female name was Lana’s, and she had been right. Because when Lana woke up in the morning Rachel had told Lana about what had happened the night before, and Lana had told her that the female name had to be her’s. She didn’t know why she thought it was hers; it was just a feeling, a feeling that turned out to be correct.

After Rachel had told Lana her own name she recited the two other names she was yelling the night before, Jason Teague, and Clark Kent. These two names were the only clues to Lana’s past, and she would use them however she needed to, to be able to remember.

(Smallville)

The sun’s bright rays broke through the curtains and settled on the face of a young man, that man was Clark Kent. Another morning meant another day, and that was something he didn’t want. Sure, when people looked at him they would think, ‘He looks happy, he has a beautiful girl-friend that he’s now engaged to, and he has a great job at the Daily Planet.’ But the truth is, he is miserable. He knew he should be happy and grateful, Lois was going to make a great wife, and he was making a very desireable amount of money, but he wanted something more, something he wasn’t even sure of.

In a matter of minutes he was out of bed into the shower, out of the shower, and downstairs ready for breakfast. His parents had let him stay at their house the week before the wedding that was to take place in Smallville, and Lois was going to come down a few days before to stay with Clark and The Kents. Right now she was swamped at work and trying to buy a new bed large enough for both of them to fit on but small enough to fit in her bedroom. After their honeymoon they would return to Metropolis and live in Lois’s spacious apartment, she had made quite a living for herself in the world of journalism. She was now one of the top reporters for the Daily Planet, and Clark Kent happened to be her partner.

The aroma of bacon and eggs wafted through out the entire house, at first they were sperate, but then they began to mesh together into one aroma. Clark hastily ate his breakfast, this was the first time he had been back in Smallville for a few years, and he wanted to see how much the town had changed, that is if it had changed. And Pete came down from Witchita and Chloe came down from New York City for the ever-impending wedding, and he wanted to see how they were doing.

“Clark, slow down, Pete and Chloe are still gonna’ be there even if you don’t finish your breakfast in a new world record time.” Jonathan said, laughing at his own joke.
“Jonathan, Clark just really wants to see his friends, so be nice to him.” Martha quickly retorted.
“Sorry honey. Oh, and Clark make sure you feed the chickens before you go meet Chloe and Pete, alright?”

“Got it dad.” Clark responded, but then in a flash he was gone.

“Even after so many years of being around him it’s hard to get used to....” right then Clark stood back in the same spot he had occupied a minute before.

“I’m going to get going now, okay?” Clark asked ready to leave as soon as they said okay. Clark had told both Pete and Chloe about his secret, and they both had taken it fairly well. Actually Chloe had been ecstatic when she found out...

(Flashback)

A large truck came barreling torwards Chloe who was about to get in her car and was too preocupied fiddling with her keys and trying to find the right one to notice the large object on wheels speeding torwards her that was abot to kill her.
At the last second Chloe looked up, because she had finally found the right key, and saw the truck in her midst. She suddenly covered her her, awaiting the deadly impact, but it never came. As soon as she looked up she saw Clark stop the truck, CLARK! She was frozen to the spot, unable to speak or move. Was that real? Did Clark really stop that truck?
Chloe had been suspicious of Clark for a while now but she had never seen anything like this before.
“Chloe, I can explain!” Clark managed to say while he pushed the now-dented truck away from his-self.
“C-clark, you just stopped a truck.” Chloe stated as if Clark didn’t know what he just did.
“I know, we need to talk” Clark said hoping she wouldn’t scream and run away.

“Okay, what do you want to talk about?” Chloe said calmly while eyeing the Clark shaped dent in the front of the truck.
“Chloe, what do you mean, what do you want to talk about?! You just saw me stop a truck with my own hands!” Clark didn’t know what else to say, apparently Chloe was still in shock, why else would she have asked what do you want to talk about after what she had just witnessed.
“Clark, I already know, I’ve, um, seen you catch a car before, this just caught me off guard.” Chloe stated, hoping he wouldn’t ask how she saw him catch a car.

“You mean you’re okay with this? With me being a, a freak!?”

“Clark, you’re not a freak. I actually think it’s kind of cool.”Chloe said honestly.

“I guess I’m more freaked out than you are, okay, Chloe I just want to let you know that I’m not a meteor freak.”

Chloe’s jaw dropped slightly at that statement, but she quickly recovered and said, “Wait, if you’re not a meteor freak, then what are you?”
“Okay, I want you to think this through, you know, try not to freak out either.” Chloe gave a nod that was a signal to Clark to continue, “I’m not from around here...”

(End of flashback)

(Metropolis)

The air outside the confines of the hospital was crisp and refreshing, the air flowed like a river around her silhouette. She was free, free to discover what had been waiting for her. Now all she had to do... was find it.

Nice update. Still interested. Like the flashback. Looks like Clark will have a real shock when Lana reappears while he's about to marry Lois. Where did everyone in Smallville think Lana was for 6 years? Did they think she died or something? Maybe more flashbacks will help us out???

Okay, I just finished writing the next chapter, so I'm just going to edit some parts of it, and get it up as soon as possible.

Okay, I just finished editing, so here it is, it gives a little insight to what had happened but not a whole lot.

‘Six years,’ she thought, it had been six years but Lana still looked like she hadn’t aged since she was 18, except for the minor additions of a few scars scattered over her fragile body. She always wished someone would come and find her, and help her remember who she was, or is, for that matter. But no one came, she wondered if she even has a family, if she did she wondered why they hadn’t come for her, did they not want to see her? Had she done something wrong?

That was why she was heading towards Smallville, she wanted answers, but all she had were questions.
“Excuse me sir, where is the bus to Smallville” Lana asked apprehensive because the man she had asked kept looking her up and down and licking his rough lips that were hidden beneath his tattered gray beard. His coarse lips slowly curled into a sly smile that sent frigid chills down her spine that caused her to shiver.” Never-mind, I can see you’re busy, I’ll just be leaving.”
As soon as she was about to turn to leave the vile man grabbed her wrist with his filthy hands, “I don’t think you’re going anywhere sweetie.” When he smiled he revealed his festering teeth and an odor so horrible she felt as if she was about to faint. “NO! Let me go!” She screamed at the man and then kicked him in the face, while he let go of her to caress his now bloody face she picked herself up off the ground and ran as fast as she could towards the small coffee shop on the corner of Essex and Bering.

--------------------------------

(Smallville)

Clark made his way towards the Talon, which was where they had planned to meet up. As soon as he strode through the door that let out a small ring to announce his presence memories of pain, hate, and love bounded through his already crowded mind. This place had been hers; all the time they spent together here reminded him of his love for her, something he had thought about since the day she left...

(Flashback)

“Hey Lana.” Clark said as he practically tripped through the large double doors on his way to the counter. When he looked up his smile faded and a puzzled expression resided in its place, Lana hadn’t responded to his hello, she just stood there looking as if she was about to burst out in tears. “Lana, are you alright? I said hi and you just blew me off.”
“Yeah Clark, I’m fine. Okay, maybe I’m not” She said trying to suppress her impending tears, and coming out victorious.
“What is it?” Clark asked truly worried as to why Lana was so upset.
Tears started to slide down her face, tracing her delicate mouth, and then landing on her dark brown shirt. “Jason wants me to move with him to Metropolis, and I don’t know if I really want to go with him.”
“Oh Lana, I’m sorry. But I thought you would be happy, don’t you love him?” Clark had said but slightly stuttered on the word love. On the outside he looked supportive and happy for her, but on the inside it was killing him. Kind of ironic for a guy with the strength of ten men and impenetrable skin.
“I am happy, at least I think I am. He said we could get an apartment and live together, but the thing is I actually said yes.” The tears kept seeping out of her glistening eyes. And the only reason she said yes to move in with Jason was because of Clark, he had hurt her so much and now she wanted him to feel the pain he put her through. But while she was hurting Clark she disregarded her own feelings and now she was miserable, she had ended up hurting herself in the process. “So I guess this is it Clark.” It hurt to look at him; even though she hated him for hurting her so many times she still loved him and wanted to be with him.
Clark thought his face had probably turned a deep shade of red and he could swear he felt tears welling up behind his eyes, but he was determined not to let them fall, no matter what he wouldn’t let them fall. ‘Damn’ he thought as he let a tear escape from its prison behind his eyes. But he quickly wiped it away before Lana could see it.
“Yeah, I guess this it.” Clark said in what seemed to be something close to a cough. He didn’t want to admit it, but he still loved her, even though she was Jason’s girl friend now. Oh how he despised Jason. “I’m really going to miss you Lana, even after all we’ve been through I just wanted to let you know that I’ll always be here for you.” Clark said, now he wasn’t even attempting to stop the flow of his tears. They fell in sheets, ‘they’re falling for Lana he thought, just like I fell for her the first time I met her, which had been when I was five. Even then she was beautiful, and she still is.’ he thought to himself while he studied her every feature in hopes of memorizing her beauty and to always see her face even when she was nowhere near him.
“I know Clark, I’m going to miss you too, and I’m going to miss every one and everything in Smallville. I’ve always wondered what it’d be like living in Metropolis, and I guess now I’m going to find out.” ‘Even if I don’t want to.’
‘Well, I guess I’ll say goodbye and then leave, since there’s no use in staying here, not when she won’t be here. Clark thought sadly to himself.’ “It’s been great knowing you Lana.... goodbye.” Clark said, a little harsher then he had intended, but he didn’t care anymore. She didn’t love him; she loved Jason... ‘Jerk!’ Then he turned on his heels and took one step at a time, out of the Talon, and out of her life.

(End of flashback)

------------------------------

(Metropolis)

As soon as she entered the quaint coffee shop the aroma of coffee beans filled her nostrils and seeped into her lungs. There was something about that smell that made her remember, she didn’t know what it helped her remember, but it was something...

(Flashback)

A beautiful man stood by the counter of a place she remembered as The Talon, he was beautifully built, his long shaggy hair curled around the bottom of his cap. He stood with his feet slightly spread apart and he wore a tight red shirt that hugged every one of his muscles. He then turned around and she saw him sporting a grin that could rival her own any day. His smile only added to his amazing features, she felt like she knew him, but she didn’t know who he was.

“Hi Lana!” He said as he waited at the counter for his daily intake of caffeine. He suddenly had the urge to run up to Lana and bring her into a passionate kiss, but he resisted. He loved her, but he didn’t want her to get hurt so he kept his distance.
“ Hi Clark.”

(End of Flashback)

‘The name sounded so familiar, where had she heard it before, where?’ And then it hit her, Clark Kent that had to have been Clark Kent, she knew it, he could probably help her remember, she had to find him.

After she ordered a regular coffee at the shop she asked the young woman at the counter where the bus stop was and then she headed off in the direction the woman had told her to. On her way to the bus stop wild thoughts rampaged through her mind, ‘What if he’s there? What if I remember who I am?’ Just then the bus pulled up and she hopped on, wishing for the best, and also preparing for the worst.

-------------------------------

(Smallville)

When Clark walked into the Talon and tried to forget the memory of Lana and him, he failed to notice his two best friends waving a sign at him that said, “ Welcome Home, and Congratulations Clark!”

“Clark man!” Pete yelled so Clark could hear through his thick head. “Clark! Get over here, why you just standin’ there?!”
As soon as Clark snapped out of his trance he looked over to the corner of the coffee shop and spotted his friends. “ Chloe! Pete!” He grabbed them each in a huge bear hug, but before he could treat them like teddy bears and squeeze the stuffing out of them they hurriedly slipped out of the hug. “Sorry you guys, I was just so happy to see you!”
“Yeah, we noticed.” Chloe said in a sarcastic tone that could only belong to her. “So how has it been in Metropolis... with you and Lois?”
“Um, it’s, uh, been great!” Clark lied, he knew the real answer to the question, and it sure wasn’t that. He wanted Lana, but after Jason had told him about her death he knew he could never be with her. ‘But I love Lois, no you love Lana, Lois, Lois, Lois, Lois, Lana, damn.’ Clark’s mind was having a war between his feelings, and so far his feelings for Lana were winning.

Thanks everyone, and to ajfinn, the only reason I put likey was because I felt like it, don't make fun of me for that!:D , Well here is the new post, I might not post again for a while because I just started reading the HP book, and it'll take me a while to finish it. Enjoy, I hope you "likey".

The bus ride had been long, people had been snoring, and babies had been crying, just like you’d picture a bus to be. But in the back corner sat Lana Lang, gazing out the window at passerbys, and the scenery that had gradually changed from large buildings to small farmhouses. The wheels of the bus went up and down, up and down, up and down (just thought I’d add that in there, can you guess what song its from?). A slight whirring noise came from the engine of the bus, letting the driver know it was still working.
‘What if no one in Smallville can help me remember my past?’ This thought had been bothering Lana the whole bus ride, she wanted help, no; she needed help so she could remember. She, just like any other normal person, longed to look back on their memories, and just remember what it was like, an old woman would want to remember what it was like to be young, or a young man would want to remember what he had just studied the night before his beg test. And all she wanted was to be like them, she wanted to remember. But so far, all she could remember was her name, and two other names that might be able to help her discover her past.
The tires screeched as they pulled into the bus stop, and the bus jerked forward for a moment before it slid back to its normal position. Passengers hurried out, aspiring to reach their destinations before dark, which was approaching quickly. Lana was the last one out, she had no need to hurry, and all she was doing was going to a hotel, where she would spend the night. She walked around the street corner and she was now facing the sunset, it was a sunset of so many colors. Purple shone out beneath the golden haze, and the light pink seemed to glow from within, it was breathtaking, and yet, it was also painful, but she had no idea why.

(Flashback)

There she stood up in the loft of a barn, not just any barn, but that of Clark Kents. A slow tear rolled down her unblemished face, it was if it was choosing to move slowly, because it didn’t want to fall to an umfamiliar doom, and then just dissapear, it wanted to live, to thrive. But before it moved again a large hand wiped it away.
Lana turned around surprised; she didn’t know he would be home so soon, “Clark, you scared me!” Lana said, with her hand positioned over her heart. “You’re mom said you wouldn’t be back for another hour.”
“I’m sorry I scared you, but I hate to see you cry so I took the liberty to wipe away your tears, and speaking of your unexpected waterworks, why were you crying? Is everything all right?” Clark said but what he meant was ‘I’m sorry I scared you, but I hate to see you cry, and I’ll take any chance I can to touch your face, the face of an angel. And speaking of your unexpected waterworks, why were you crying? Is everything all right?’
“Yeah, everything’s fine, I was just thinking about some things, don’t worry, it’s nothing.” Another tear rolled down her face, but this time no one was there to wipe it.
“ Lana, you know you can tell me anything.” Clark said pushing a little bit, but not too much, he wanted her to trust him in her own time.
“Actually I think I should get going, can you come by the Talon tomorrow? There’s something I need to talk to you about.”
“Is it important?” Clark asked, even though he would go if it weren’t important.
“Yeah, it is, so I’ll see you tomorrow then?” Lana called from the bottom of the stairs, if only she had told him how she felt, and then maybe she would have the courage to not move in with Jason. But she was still mad at Clark, so she wouldn’t tell him how she felt, but she would try to hurt him as much as she could when she tells him tomorrow at the Talon. If this is the only way to get over him, then I have to do it. And right then she turned and walked away.

(End of flashback)

(The Talon)

“Lois is making all her bridesmaids, and me her maid of honor wear these hideous light pink really poofy dresses to the wedding. It’s horrible!” Chloe cried, practically talking to herself, because both Pete and Clark were in a heated discussion of what they would do for the bachelor party. Clark had only wanted a few close friends to come, but Pete wanted more than just a few close friends, he insisted on a certain type of entertainment. “Hello, earth to Harry and Ron over here” Chloe said, and then laughed at her own lame joke.
“Very funny Chloe, but we can’t talk right right now, because we’re discussing something very important.” Pete exclaimed, proud of himself for standing up to Chloe, but that pride soon faded away as Chloe started to yell at the two grown, but still immature men sitting in front of her.
“YOU HADN’T HEARD A SINGLE THING JUST I SAID DID YOU? CLARK! PETE! ANSWER ME!” After she had her little spazzing out sessions she quickly calmed down and began to sip her latte once again.
“It scares me when she does that.” Pete whispered to Clark, but apparently he hadn’t said it soft enough because Chloe started ranting again about how can a person age, and can still be so immature.
“You know what, I think I’m going to head back home and call Lois to tell her you’re already here.” Clark said, slipping out of his chair that was almost too small for him.
“Okay, but make sure you call if you need help with anything, like say for example, trashing the bridesmaids dresses.” Chloe said hopefully.
“And make sure you call to talk abou the partay!” Pete also said hopefully and in high spirits.
“Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to find the time somewhere in my hectic life to call both of you and have a long chat about everything that’s going on in your lives.” Clark said in a sarcastic tone, but also flashing them a huge grin on his way out that showed them he was just joking. ‘Now to call Lois, my bride to be, whoopdeedoo, what have I gotten myself into?’

(A small inn a few blocks down from the Talon)

A young woman lying on her back staring up at the ceiling was anxious to find out more about her life, the life she can’t remember. In her mind the few things she was lucky enough to recover from her past tumbled around in her head. She knew she needed to find a man named Clark Kent, but she didn’t know where to start searching. First she knew she should look around the town and see if anything could jog her memory. That’s what she would do tomorrow, in hopes of discovering something useful. Maybe even something she loved.

The sun jolted her from her sleep, now she was sitting upright in her bed. As she looked aroung the room she finally noticed the decaying décor. There was the bed the was laying in positioned in the center of the room sticking out from one of the light brown walls, and then right next to the bed was an old night stand, with a lamp and an alarm clock positoned on top of it. Across the room was a painting of a lake, and under the picture the letter spelled out Crater Lake. The room smelled of wet dog and old socks, not the most pleasane odor to wake up to, the smell stung her eyes and sent small tears down her cheeks. After a while of looking around she got up off the bed and grabbed some clothes and then headed for the shower, which was in the room right that connected to her own. The shower was as cold as ice, it sent chills down her spine, but soon she was out of the shower and drying her hair with the old hair dryer that hung next to the sink. She was wearing a black short-sleeved shirt, that was cut low around the neck, and she wore faded blue jeans that had a few small holes in them. Her hair was pulled up into a loose bun, and her make-up was light. After locking her room she made her way out into the morning sun the momentarily blinded her eyes, but then her vision returned clear as ever.

(The Kent farm)

Clark had just woken up and was now completing his morning chores, he had been thinking about what Pete said about having a little “entertainment” for his bachelor party, but that just wasn’t him, all he wanted was for his dad, Pete, and a few other guys from the Daily Planet to join him for dinner and to watch a football game, but Pete had more in mind than that. Clark walked into the house after his chores covered in mud from the pigpen and then picked up the phone and then dialed in Pete’s number, “Hello? Pete? This is Clark, I just wanted to talk about the party.”
“Oh, hi Clark” then Clark heard Pete talking to someone who seemed to keep asking who was on the phone, it was a womans’ voice, but Clark couldn’t seem to place it. “Um, do you think we could talk later, now isn’t the best time. Okay, bye!”
Clark looked at the phone he held in his hand astonished at Pete, ‘I wonder who was over there.’ Clark thought, but before he could think any more about what just happened his mom called him down for breakfast, and nothing can stop Clark Kent on the way to the kitchen table once he starts thinking about his mother's cooking.

I really enjoy reading you replies, so keep them coming! And once again, I am sorry it was so short, I'll make sure to make the next one much longer.

Here is the next update, thanks again for all your replies, I couldn't have done this with out you *silently weeps*. Okay, take it, I don't want it anymore!

“Dis... im... gre... moom” Clark told his mom but was muffled by his desire to fit two pancakes in his mouth at a time.
“Your welcome, honey, but I’d feel much better if you would only eat one pancake at a time.” Martha replied as she looked at her son with an expression of annoyance.
On that note Clark stuffed the rest of his pancakes in his mouth, and washed it down with some orange juice. “Sorry mom I gotta’ go, Pete and I have to finish planning the party for tonight, and I have to make sure he doesn’t do anything stupid. Bye!” After he said good-bye to his mom Clark supersped over to Pete’s house to plan the rest of the party. After Clark knocked on the door he heard someone scurrying for the heavy oak door, and almost instantly Pete’s head popped out from behind it.
“Hey! Clark man, come on in, we’ve got a lot of planning to do.” A small grin was forming on Pete’s face as he said this.
“Okay, but we can only do things that won’t make me feel guilty when I see Lois again.”
“Uh, Clark, we wouldn’t have anything to do then.”
“Very funny Pete!” Clark said this as he swung his arm and hit Pete lightly, but hard on enough to make him yelp, on the back. “Um, Pete I was just wondering, you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to, but, uh, who was over here last night? I heard another voice in the backround, and it sounded like a woman’s voice.” Clark asked casually, but the curiosity still shone in his eyes.
“It was just Chloe, no big deal really.” Pete lied, Chloe and him had really hit it off last night, but Pete wasn’t sure if he should tell Clark he and Chloe are now a couple.
“Oh come on, it sounded like more than, Pete, are you aware that I have super-hearing?”
Okay, fine. Do you promise you won’t get mad?”
“Why would I get mad? It’s not like you two are going out or something like that?” When he saw Pete’s eyes get huge, he released his huge grin, let out a laugh, and said, “ Pete, I was just kidding! It’s great that you and Chloe are a couple!”
Before Pete said anything he let out a few little laughs, but then said, “Okay, now that we got past that let’s get down to business.”
“So, the party is going to take place tonight, right?” Clark asked trying to sound excited, but when it involved anything that had to do with the wedding he was miserable. ‘Did he really want to marry Lois?’
“Yeah, the party will take place tonight at my house. What do you want to bring? The beer? Hotdogs? Chips? I can’t believe you didn’t want to go to a club, we wouldn’t have had to buy anything for it.”
“I don’t know, I guess I just wouldn’t feel comfortable there, I would rather enjoy watching a football game any day.” Clark said with a hint of remorse.
Pete knew the reason Clark hadn’t wanted to go to a club, the last time he went to Atlantis, he went with Lana, and he must’ve had bad memories of it. “It’s fine man, I’m not complaining, this is the biggest game of the season for the Sharks, I’m glad we’ll be watching it.”
“Thanks Pete, I’m going to go buy some stuff for the Party, I’ll see you at eight.”
“Bye, see ya’!”

(The streets of Smallville)

Lana walked cauutiously down the street not wanting to miss anything that could help her bring back her memory. She noticed for sale signs in a few of the windows, and then she remembered...

(Flashback)

Lana: Why didn't you tell me you were selling the shop?

Nell: I'm sorry, sweetie. I only made the decision this morning.

Lana: And when were you planning on telling me this?

Nell: Lana, I don't understand why you're so upset. I mean, you've never shown any interest in this store before and now I'm supposed to consult you?

Lana: Are you selling the movie theater as well?

Nell: Yes, Lana. It's part of the building.

Lana: You know how much it means to me.

Nell: Lana, if I had made business decisions based on sentiment, I would have gone bust a long time ago. Besides, the movie theater's been closed for months now. I'll just sell the building and relocate to a smaller store.

Lana: There has to be another way.

Nell: Look, I'm just thinking of our future.

(End of flashback)

As soon as Lana snapped out of her trance she started walking again torwards what she guessed was the Talon, the place she had seen in her memories, the memories that just seem to pop out of nowhere, but that wasn’t true. They didn’t comeout of thin air, they came from somewhere in her mind, buried beneath her pain and suffering, they are scattered around, and only familiar things seem to bring them out of their hiding place. She reached the door of the Talon and yanked it open, revealing an Egyptian themed coffee shop, and a movie theatre. Tidbits of memories flooded through her now racing mind, and the one that stood out the most was simple, not fancy or extravagant, just simple...

(Flashback)

Lana walks around inside the Talon, the old movie theater. Day. Clark enters.

Clark: Trying to score the last box of Jujubes before this place is sold?

Lana: Those things could probably survive a nuclear winter.

Clark: You must have a thing about bad sound and stale popcorn.

Lana: My parents met here. My dad worked the concession stand during college and my mom came to see "Close Encounters." She got bored.

Clark: How do you get bored watching "Close Encounters"?

Lana: I don't know. Maybe she had a thing against aliens. She hung out in the lobby and spent the entire night talking to my dad. They'd only been a few years apart in high school, but they never really noticed each other and that night, they just clicked. I know it sounds kind of crazy, but I feel that whatever tangible evidence I have of my parents' existence is slowly being chipped away.

Clark: Sometimes, letting go is the only way to move forward.

Lana: I guess you're right. Besides, there's nothing I can do to stop it. How did you find me anyway?

Clark: Nell told me you were here. I was wondering if I could borrow your English notes. I kind of dozed off in class.

Lana: Sure. [Gives him the notes] Have you been feeling okay lately?

Clark: Yeah, great. Why?

Lana: Nothing. You're just less... Clark Kent-like. It's kind of nice. You seem more relaxed. Like you haven't got the weight of the world on your shoulders.

Clark: Well, I guess I woke up and realized my life had changed. I decided to kick back and accept the fact I couldn't control everything.

Lana: Maybe I should adopt that philosophy myself.

(End of flashback)

It was once again Clark Kent, there was something mysterious about him, he wasn’t like a regular person, something was different, and she got the feeling that not even the Lana who could remember had figured out his secret. She ordered a regular coffee and sat down at one of the tables. She began thinking to herself of what she would find, and she failed to notice a young man with long dark curly hair tucked under a baseball cap walk past the window where she was sitting. She had then dropped her napkin and bent down to pick it up, but by the time she looked back up he was gone.

(Streets of Smallville)
(Clark’s POV)

Clark was walking past the Talon on his way to the grocery store that resided in the center of the small town, he looked over and through the window of the Talon, and he could’ve sworn he saw his high school sweetheart Lana Lang, the same Lana Lang that was supposed to be dead sipping her coffe amongst the midst of the living. He looked forward and then back again, but when he turned to look again there was no one there, no one sitting in the chair. ‘Great now I’m hallucinating’ and then the question that so often entered his mind came forward again, and asked, ‘Do I really want to marry Lois?’

Good or bad, you decide. Let me know, okay! And the long post-poned Lana meets Clark will take place in the next update. Have a good day!

Okay peoples, here is the next update, and once again thanks for all you replies, I hope you're enjoyng the story!I'm going to have to split in two also. Here ya go...

As Clark walked along the hard and cold sidewalks of Smallville another thought came to his mind, ‘What if the only reason I’m marrying Lois is to get over Lana, and am I really over Lana if I was hallucinating her sipping a coffee in the Talon?’ As confused as he was, he was able to buy the food and beer for that night and head back to the farm. Lois was supposed to be arriving tomorrow on Thursday, and the wedding was going to take place on Sunday. He was anxious to see her again, but only because he wanted to make sure he truly loved her, ‘What if you see her and you don’t love her, what will you do then?’ Clark asked himself as he was walking back up the porch and into his house. Clark almost dropped the beer, because once again Pete just popped out of nowhere and headed toward Clark. Pete grabbed the beer from Clark and set it on the counter with the rest of the junk food for that night, their list ranged from, chocolate covered strawberries to white cheddar Pringles.

“You ready for tonight man?” Pete asked through a mouthful of chips.

“Yeah, actually I’m kind off nervous.” Said Clark, the last part he meant for only him to hear, but Pete heard it loud and clear.

“What have you got to be nervous about? Other than the fact you’re getting married in less than four days to a person who you barely know, and you have know idea if you even really love her enough to be marrying her.

“Exactly! I don’t know what I’m supposed to do, should I break it off with her? But I don’t want to hurt her, or should I go through with it? But then I would be hurting myself. And who knows, it may even ruin my social life or work life! Wait, I don’t have a social life. Well I could always lie and say I do, it would be a good excuse. No it wouldn’t that’s a terrible excuse, just go through with it even if it’s gonna’ make you miserable, at least you’d be making someone happy!” After Pete gave him a look saying that he was crazy he stopped his war between his two mind frames, and gave himself a break for the time being, at least before they started up again.

“You okay man? It looked like you passed the need for an actual person to talk to several minutes ago” Pete said amazed at his best friend.

“Oh yeah, before I asked what am I supposed to do.” Clark said, still catching his breath from his long rant to himself.

“You’re an amazing man.”

“Thank you for noticing.” Both of them broke out into huge grins as they continued their conversation on what they were going to do for the party a few hours from now.

(The Talon)

Lana was getting up to leave when a strangely familiar blonde woman in her early twenties hurriedly walked through the door and up to the counter, and then demanded coffee.

(Flashback)

A teenager named Chloe was working at the school newspaper called The Torch and she heard someone enter.

Chloe: Pete, you throw that rubber spider again, and I'm going for my staple gun.

Lana: Mind if I come in?

Chloe: The girl who writes for "The Pom-pom Parade" is, no surprise, out with mono.

Lana: This week's editorial?

Chloe: My semiannual "Where Are Our Priorities" rant.

Lana: For what it's worth, I really like what you've done with the paper this year.
Chloe: Well, that puts you in the majority of one. I'm sorry about the pom-pom crack. Once I hit "take no prisoners" mode, it's kind of hard for me to shut it off.

Lana: Actually, I admire it. You know who you are and you go for it.

Chloe: Well, I appreciate the compliment. However, I know you haven't come down to this hole to give me a pep talk.

Lana: The Torch prints the graduation speech every year, right?

Chloe: Having transcribed last year's snore-fest, that's an unfortunate yes. What year?

Lana: 1977.

Chloe: That's P.C.

Lana: P.C.?

Chloe: Pre-computer, when disco ruled the earth. Anything we have before then's going to be H.C.

Lana: Hard copy.

Chloe: You catch on fast. Uh, let's see. '77, here we go. "Saturday Night Fever" was their prom theme. Styx won "Group of the Century", and... wow. Someone got in the administration's collective face.

Lana: "Due to the controversial nature of this year's graduation address, the editors have elected not to run the text in this issue of the Torch."

Chloe: Meaning, ironically, it's probably the only one worth reading. You know, maybe I could track something down for you. Do you know who gave the speech?

Lana: Yeah. My mother.

(End of Flashback)

The woman at the counter turned around and faced towards Lana while she waited for her coffee, and then her jaw slowly dropped and she froze right where she was. Lana was about to go up to her and ask if she was okay, but before she could move the woman that was in her flashback ran up to her and pulled her into a giant hug.

“Lana, we thought we lost you. Jason told us you were killed in a car accident after you moved to metropolis.” Chloe said as tears rolled down her face.

“You mean you know who I am?!” Lana asked surprised that the women knew her.

“Of course I know you, you lived with me after your aunt Nell and Dean moved to Metropolis.” Chloe said, her tears slowly disappearing, and instead a worried expression taking their place.

“I’m sorry, I have no idea who you are.” Said Lana, silently cursing herself for not being able to remember a person who obviously cares for her a lot.

“Wow, this sure is awkward. So you really don’t remember me?” At this Lana shook her head. "Oh, well I’m Chloe Sullivan, you’re once best friend.”

“I am really sorry, Chloe, I can’t remember you. I can’t even remember where I’m from or why I was in a hospital for six years suffering from amnesia, and no one even came to find me.” Lana said almost on the verge of tears.

“Wait, you said you have amnesia?” Chloe looked like she was working through something in her head, “Okay, well that explains the whole awkward moment we just had. Um, Lana, do you want to go sit down so we can talk?”

"Oh, sure, and once again I am really sorry, that must’ve been pretty embarrassing for you.” Lana said as she sat back down at the she just evacuated.

“It’s okay, I’ve been through worse. Anyways, Lana, if you said you have amnesia then why are you here in Smallville if you can’t remember?”
Lana was unsure of how to start because it wasn’t because she knew it was only because of a hunch. “Well, I can’t say I knew that I remembered that I was from here, If am that is, it was more of a hunch. I had a feeling that told me to come here to Smallville.”

“Really? That’s interesting, I guess humans are more like dogs than we thought.” Chloe said calmly.

“Excuse me?”

“Sorry, I meant to say our instincts” Because Chloe was still laughing at her mistake Lana decided to ask her a few more questions.

“So, I really am from Smallville then?” She asked curiously.

“Yes, Lana about that, there’s something I need to tell you about your...”

“So that means my family is here? Right?” Chloe had taken on a sick shade of green when Lana mentioned her parents. “Chloe?”

“Lana, listen to me, twenty one years ago there was a meteor shower in Smallville. A lot of people were killed in the shower and...”

“NO! No, you’re saying my parents were killed!? Aren’t you?!” Lana was furious, she had just found out that she was from Smallville, but her parents had been killed in a meteor shower twenty-one years ago.

“Lana, calm down, please calm down.” Chloe pleaded with Lana, and finally she calmed down enough to not yell when she spoke.

“When I came here, I thought I would find my parents and they would give me answers, answers I thought that I lost six years ago.” Lana said as the tears that threatened to flow earlier began to trickle down her beautiful face.

“Just because your parents aren’t alive doesn’t mean you can’t get answers, you have your friends, they are the ones that can give you answers.” Chloe said, watching Lana to make sure she didn’t have another outburst. "Okay? So tell me everything you can remember, and I’ll tell you some things that I know about your past.”

Lana began to tell everything she could remember, she told her about the recurring dream she would always have, the one where she gets raped, she told her about Rachel and how she helped her remember her name, the flashback she's been having, and when she called out the three names in her sleep, Lana Lang, Jason Teague, and Clark Kent. Chloe gasped at the last name, and Lana began to wonder why.

“Did you just say Clark Kent!?” Chloe asked, now looking very excited.

“Yeah, I did, why? Do you know him?” Lana asked, now growing as excited as Chloe was.

“Do I know him? Of course I do. You did too. I had always had a crush on him, but he really loved you.” After she told Lana the last bit of information the smile on her face fell.

“He loved me? Did I love him?” Lana asked, even more curiously then before.

“Yeah, you did. But both of you insisted on hiding your feelings from each other, and you two only got together once for like two days, and then in our senior year of high school you had been in Paris and when you came back you brought a guy along with you, Jason Teague.”

“He was one of the other names I called out. Yeah, but he moved a few months ago.” Chloe stated happily.

“Oh, well I was thinking...”

“Yes?”

“Do you think we could go see Clark?” Lana asked eagerly.

“Lana, I forgot to tell you, he’s getting married.”

Even though Lana didn’t remember Clark, she couldn’t help but feel disappointed and terrible. When Chloe saw Lana’s face she smirked because she was able to figure out what Lana was thinking.
“Well, let’s go then.”

(Pete’s house)

The party was going great, and the Metropolis Sharks were winning too. Then the doorbell rang, and Clark got up to get it.

“It’s probably Perry.” Clark said

“Who?” Pete answered with a look of confusion on his face.

“Perry White, my boss.”

“Oh, okay.”

When Clark opened the door he dropped his beer along with his jaw, because the person standing right in front of him was none other than Lana Lang.

There ya' go, I hope you like it!

Don't mind the splitting in two thing, I fixed it so I dodn't have to split it in two. I hop you like it.

My internet is finally back up, so here is the next update, enjoy!

Clark stood awestruck at the door staring at the face he thought he would never see again. “How....? But I....? What.....?” All these questions but Clark couldn’t seem to force even one out of his mouth. “Lana.” His eyes lingered over her mouth and her lips, and drifted towards her eyes, he noticed small scars scattered over her face and arms, and he wondered what had happened. “I never thought I would see you again, Jason told me you were dead.”

“Clark, I know you think you’re looking at the Lana you saw six years ago, but I’m not that Lana, I’m not your Lana.” Lana looked straight inyo his eyes when she said this; his almost oceanic blue green eyes, and she thought ‘If I really ever was in love with him, I can definitely see why.’

“What do you mean you’re not the same Lana?” Clark asked with a bemused expression glued to his face.

“I mean that, these might be the lips you once have kissed or the eyes you’ve looked into, but because I don’t have those memories It’s like it never really happened for me, your Lana is the one who can reminesce in her memories and cherish them, while I don’t even have them.” Lana knew that as she said this she would be making Clark even more confused then he already was.

“Why are you saying you can’t remember? If you couldn’t remember how do you know who I am?” Clark tried to think over the facts that she gave him, but it was also so confusing.

“I think we should talk about this some where else, do you want to take a walk?” Lana asked, hoping he would say yes.

“Um, sure” Clark knew he shouldn’t have left his own party, but after six years Lana came back into his life, and after six years life was beginning to return to the way it used to be, slowly but surely “so, can you answer my questions?”

“Oh, of course, sorry. I’ve been doing a lot of that over the years.” Lana took a seat on the wooden bemch under the street lamp.

“Been doing a lot of what?” Now Clark was intrigued, Lana was the one person who could make him feel this way, and it was all coming back to him now.

“A lot of forgetting, but lately I’ve been able to remember more than I could have hoped for. But even though I can remember doesn’t make it any less confusing to me than it was when I had no clue who I was.” Lana and Clark sat on thebench, sure the bench was uncomfortable, but they didn’t feel it, because to them all they needed to be comfortable was each other’s presence.

“So, you’re saying you weren’t able to remember anything up until a little while ago? Like you had amnesia for six years? But Lana, if you did, what could have caused you to be forgetful for that long?” Clark knew something was wrong with the situation, but as of now, he had no clue.

“First let me answer your other questions, and then we can try to work together on those. Deal?” Lana said with a dorky grin attached, and she stuck at her hand in an attempt to impersonate a buisness man that for some reason liked to shake peoples hands. And then Clark thrust his hand into the mix and Lana let out a soft snicker as his large hand completely hid her small hand. “Okay, well you already figured out why I can’t remember, it was because I had, and still have amnesia. The reason I know who you are is because a few years back I had a nightmare at the hospital where I was staying, and up untill then I didn’t even know my own name, but that night I ended up screaming in my sleep and when I woke up, one of the nurses had told me that I kept on yelling three names, Lana Lang, Jason Teague, and Clark Kent. She said I kept repeating my name, but in a softer tone than the others, then I would scream Jason’s name, and I would just say yours calmly.”Lana let Clark soak in the information before she moved on. “After that night, I would have a recurring nightmare, where there was a man and he would keep trying to rape me, it always felt so real,” as she said this a single tear rolled down her face “and then whenever I would see something vaguely familiar I would get visions, like flashbacks into my past, lke I was looking through an open window and watching the people interact, and then I kept getting visions of you, and in one of them I said your name, and that’s how I knew it was you.”

“But how did you know how to come to Smallville?” Clark asked, but he was now more worried then he was intrigued.

“I don’t really know, it was like an instinct almost, when I ran into Chloe I told her about my instincts she pretty much called me a dog.” When she said this she got a small chuckle out of Clark so she decided to continue. “ And to answer your question about what could’ve caused this amnesia, I’m not entirely sure, because if you haven’t noticed that when you ask someone with amnesia to remember how they got that way, there isn’t a very good chance they can answer that question.”

“I know I just want to get to the bottom of this, so you’ll be able to remember.” Clark said, and some where deep down in his gut he got the feeling that whatever caused Lana’s amnesia was not an accident.

“Clark, Chloe told me that we used to be, a, you know, um, a couple. Is that true?” Lana practically knew the answer already when she asked him, because once she did the look of shock on his face gave it away.

“Yeah, it is true, but I pushed you away before we got too intimate.” Clark now regretted the choice he had made, and he wanted more than anything to be with Lana and tell her his secret.

“If you don’t mind me asking, why did you push me away?” She wondered if she had done something wrong, but before she was able to delve deeper into that thought Clark came out with an answer. Or actually it was more like some stuttering in disguise.

“Well, I-I um, w-well, you see, I d-didn’t. Okay, Lana, the truth is I didn’t want you to get hurt.” Good thing the street lamp was casting an orangeish glow over the both of them, because he could’ve sworn he felt his face turn a deep shade of red.

“What do you mean you didn’t want me to get hurt, how would you hurt me?” When she looked at him she didn’t think he could hurt anyone, I mean he might have a godly body, but his temper and his prescence don’t give off the vibe that he would hurt anyone.

“It’s more complicated than it seems, I can’t really explain, because, well, I don’t have a choice.” He knew it sounded stupid, but that was the truth.

“Clark, you always have a choice, and I just want you to know that you can tell me anything.” Lana knew there was some thing mysterious about the man that is Clark Kent, and she couldn’t help but be attracted to it, so this is why she loved him, she thought to herself once again.

“I bet you don’t know that you just said the exact same thing that the Lana with her memorie would’ve said? You were always trying to get me to tell you my secret, but the thing is I didn’t want you to get hurt, and because you kept asking me you did get hurt, even when I didn’t push you away, it was just because you stayed close. And I don’t want that to happen again.” Clark thought he sounded selfish, but he really cared for Lana and he didn’t want to see her get hurt again.

There was a silence between the two, but it wasn’t uncomfortable, it was far from that, it was peaceful and serene, well that was untill they heard shouts coming from inside Pete’s house. “I heard you were getting married, to someone name Lois. Right?”

“Yeah, you actually know her, she’ll be happy to see you, at least I hope she will be.” When he said he was getting married to Lois it just didn’t sound right, there was something missing between him and Lois.

“I know her? That’s nice.” Lana said trying to keep her jealousy at bay, she would have to try her best not to rip out Lois’s hair once she got here. “When is your wedding?” The word wedding slid out from between her clenched teeth that were molded into a smile, or at least she hoped it looked like a smile. But she wasn’t too sure about that.

“The wedding is in about four more days, it’s this Sunday, and Lois is arriving tomorrow.” He hated his self for having to say this in front of Lana, the only reason he was getting married to Lois in the first place because he thought Lana was dead.

“Wow, that soon? How long have you been engaged?” She hoped he hadn’t seen her roll her eyes when she said that.

“We’ve been engaged for a few months now, actually Lois was the one that proposed to me, I always knew she wasn’t one to follow tradition.” Clark said as he forced out a laugh.

‘Lana stay calm, it’s not like he’s in love with you, he loves Lois now, oh how I hate her. Just stay calm and everything will be all right. I hope.’

I hope I didn't dissapoint ya' guys

Okay, here is the next update, enjoy...

“Lana, you should probably get some rest, you must be tired.” ‘No, you should stay and never leave, that would be the right thing to do.’ Clark knew she would have to leave sometime, he just didn’t want it to be this soon, ‘actually she might need to go get some sleep because she’s going to be seeing Lois again tommorow and she needs all the strength she can get.’

“Oh, yeah, you’re probably right, at the hospital lights out was at 9:30 so I’m way past my bed time already!” ‘I hope he got my joke, why did I say that last part? And no, I don’t want to leave, let me stay here with you, how about I help you call off your wedding?’ Lana was eager to stay with Clark, she hadn’t seen him for so long none the less remembered him so she wanted to make up for lost time. But apparently Clark was thinking otherwise, he was practically pushing her to go to the hotel!

Clark let out a small snicker at her joke that evolved into a snort, and then his face once again took on the shad of a red balloon. “Okay then, I guess you should get going, you should just call me if you need anything and hopefully I’ll see you tomorrow and we can try to answer some more of your question and we could also recruit Chloe into doing some digging into your past.” Clark made a feeble attempt at a smile and just barely held it up, why do I feel so horrible when she leaves me, but I feel so good when she stays?

“Well, I should get going then, um, bye!” Before she could change her mind she was on her way back to the hotel without another glance back at the man that makes her feel things she’s never felt before, or at lest things she can’t remember feeling.

(Pete’s House)

Clark walked back into Pete’s living room feeling like he was just exposed to some Kryptonite, he sauntered over to the chair he once occupied and sank deep into it. He thought he would never see her again, after Jason..... that’s it, Jason! Jason must’ve had something to do with Lana’s amnesia, she had called Jason’s name out along with her own and his. Clark knew he had to find Jason, but he couldn’t until after Lois arrived, ‘why is it that I’m more excited about helping Lana then my own wedding?’ That was something he already knew the answer to, but he couldn’t bring himself to say it.

“Clark man, where you been?” Pete called from over at the kitchen table where he was playing poker with some of the other guys from the party. “I thought you said you went to get Perry.”

“I thought I was going to let Perry in.” Clark said in what almost seemed like a deep growl.

“Well Perry came in about fifteen minutes after you left. And you still haven’t answered me, where did you go?” Pete was now becoming anxious to know the truth, because truthfully Pete missed the days when he would bring him along on an adventure.

“Um, Pete, do you think we could talk outside? This is kind of private.” He said this as he motioned towards the front door that led to the bench he and Lana had just occupied.

“Yeah, I’ll be right out, I just have to... nevermind, it can wait.” Pete yelled to Clark who already out the door and sitting on the bench with his head down by his legs. Pete jogged over to the bench and sat down by Clark before speaking. “What’d you want to talk about?”

“I saw her!” Clark exclaimed, he could feel his blood boiling beneath his skin, she is the one person that can make him feel this way, but he still couldn’t bring himself to say he loved Lana and not Lois.

“Saw who man?” Pete was now confused at who the who Clark was talking about is.

“I saw HER! I saw Lana!” Clark was now on the verge of tears, what had he done to make his life go so wrong? Lana was back and he was marrying Lois.

“Calm down buddy, did I hear you right? Did you say Lana?” Clark nodded his head at this “Lana Lang?” Clark nodded his head again to give confirmation. “But how?! It’s impossible! She died in a car accident.” Pete was afraid that his best friend was going crazy, and he didn’t know what to do about it.

“She didn’t die, I don’t know how or why, but she was put in an all-women’s hospital in Metropolis six years ago, she had and still has amnesia, and she wants help. She’s trying to figure out her past and how she came to be in that hospital. Pete, is it crazy that I want to help her, after what happened between us?” Clark felt crazy; tonight he just saw a person that he thought died six years ago.

“So you really saw her? That’s great Clark!” Clark was surprised at Pete’s reaction to this mess. He expected Pete to say he shouldn’t get involved with Lana right before his wedding, and even if Pete had said that, it would’ve been too late. Clark was already involved; he was more involved with Lana in that short period of time than he has ever been with Lois. “And no, it’s not crazy that you want to help her, even if you two did leave on the wrong note she won’t remember, and you two are still friends no matter what.”

Clark was speechless, he had never known Pete to act like this, and he was usually clowning around. “Thanks Pete, that means a lot coming from you.”

“Actually Clark you can thank Oprah for that one, I was kind of listening to a segment on her show about how friends should stay friends no matter what, that kind of stuff.” It was now Pete’s turn for his face to turn red,

Clark would usually make fun of Pete for doing something like that, but tonight was different, he had too much on his mind, ‘ and besides’ he thought to himself ‘I guess Oprah really does know what she’s talking about.’

(A small inn a few blocks down from the Talon)

Lana was once again sprawled out on her tiny bed and thinking of the night’s events. When she was having her so-called “visions” she had always gotten the feeling the Clark Kent was a mysterious and gentle man. And she was right, Clark Kent was all she chalked him up to be, but now when she would reffer to him in her mind she would call him Clark Kent, the man of mysteries, or Clark Kent, the man of her dreams. ‘What will this Lois person be like? Does he really even love her? Of course he loves her, he is getting married to her, and Clark doesn’t seem like the type of guy who would just settle for what he’s got.

(Flashback)

Clark was working on a paper in the loft. Lana enters with a small box, smiling.

Clark: Lana. It's almost midnight.

Lana: Yeah, I took a chance you'd still be up. Are you getting a head start on your term paper?

Clark: I've got to give the toast at Lex's rehearsal dinner. It makes European history seem like a breeze. Am I supposed to guess what's in the box?

Lana: No. You're supposed to close your eyes.

Clark closes his eyes. Lana puts the box down on the table and looks at Clark.

Lana: Don't peek.

Clark shrugs and covers his eyes with his hands. We see Lana preparing something on the table, but we can't see what it is. She blows out a match. She turns around to face Clark and she is holding a birthday cake with candles on it.

Lana: Okay. I know, uh, it's not your birthday for another seven minutes, but I wanted to surprise you.

Clark: You did.

Lana: I get the feeling it's not in a good way.

Clark: It's just it's not really my birthday. It's just some date that my parents picked off the calendar for the adoption papers.

Lana comes to the window with the cake.

Lana: Maybe some of us want to celebrate the day you came into our lives.

Clark: I never thought of it that way.

Lana: Make a wish.

Clark: I've been wishing for the same thing ever since I was five.

Lana: And now?

Clark: And now I don't have to. She's standing right here in front of me.

Clark leans in slowly and they kiss, lightly at first. The kiss becomes more intense, but remains slow and gentle.

(End of flashback)

After the flashback Lana still layed on the bed, but with new thought circulating in her mind. ‘He rally did love me, and now I just need to figure out if he still does.’

(Kent Farm)

Clark woke to a new day when he heard knocking coming from outside. ‘It must be Lois, great.’ He slowly got out of his warm and comfortable bed and lazily walked down the stairs and to the front door where Lois stood with her bags of clothes and make-up.

Okay, I got it now. I hope you like it.

“Hey Lois, come on in.” Clark said in a drowsy voice and motioned for her to come into the house. ‘It’s too early for this.’
“Hi Clark, it’s nice to see you too, I love you so much, and I’ve missed you this week, that’s all you had to say farm boy, except I wouldn’t want you to call me Clark, Lois is just fine for now.”

“Sorry Lois, it’s just that I’m really tired.” This wasn’t the case at all, it would only take Clark an hour to re-energize, and Lois may know his secret, but she didn’t know it that well.

Lois gave a nod in recognition to the words Clark just muttered. “So how was yoor bachelor party? Eventful? Uneventful?”

“Actually Lois I wanted to talk to you about that.” Clark wasn’t sure how to begin, Lois and Lana were never really close, but that didn’t mean Lois wasn’t devastated when Lana was supposedly killed.

“What did Pete do?” Lois knew that if something happened at the bachelor party it was Pete’s doing.

“No Lois, it wasn’t Pete.” Clark was a little slow with his reactions this morning now that his mind was on Lana.

“Well then, what happened?” Lois was now anxious to know what Clark was trying to force out of his mouth.

Clark decided to just get it over with so he just put the whole thing out there. “ Lana isn’t dead, and I saw her last night.” When Clark had looked back up from the floor that he was so intently staring at he could see Lois’s jaw hanging and her eyes bugging out.

Lois didn’t know what to say, she thought Lana had been killed in that tragic car accident when Lana was in Metropolis, and now she’s finding out that Lana’s still walking around with all her limbs intact.

“Are you going to say something?” Lois didn’t answer. “Lois, are you alright?” Clark was now starting to worry, she looked like she was trying to figure out if this was true or not, but in the process she was causing several of her temple’s veins to pulse and that scared Clark.

Finally Lois spoke, and she said, “I worked on the case, I did a story on it, no one could have survived thhat impact.”

“Lana and I don’t think that she was in a car accident, we think something else happened.” Clark was now carefully watching Lois to make sure nothing bad would come of this.

“Doesn’t she remember what happened?” A confused expression had etched itself onto her face now.

“Well, not exactly. She’s been in a women’s hospital for the past six years suffering from amnesia, she hasn’t been able to recover her lost memories yet.” Clark saw Loi’s expressions soften a little at that news, but he still wasn’t sure of what to think of it.

“So why didn’t anyone go to find her if she’s been in the hospital for six years?” Lois thought she asked a very logical question, but when Clark answered she wasn’t too happy with it.

“Think about it, if someone thought you were dead would they go looking for you?” Clark was now pleased with his self because he just beat Lois at her own game.

“Okay Clark, let’s see if you can answer this one.” Clark gave Lois a huge grin and that told her to continue. “If Lana has amnesia how did she manage to get to Smallville, if she couldn’t remember where she was from?” Lois thought she stumped Clark with that question, but unto her knowledge Clark already had an answer to that ready.

“You have to hear me out on this one, it’s a little out there, but I know Lana wouldn’t lie, well the reason for her coming to Smallville was because of instincts.” Clark watched Lois for her reaction, and it slowly transformed into an amused one.

“You mean like a dog?” She tried to supress a grin but miserably failed.

“Wow, both you and Chloe are a lot a like.” Clark processed this thought and wondered why he wasn’t going to marry Chloe instead ‘She would’ve been much easier to live with.’

“What do you mean Chloe and I are a lot a like?” Confused once again the expression of confusement painted itself onto her face.

“Nevermind, lets get back to the topic at hand, okay?” Lois gave him a curt nod, and he continued. “Lana has also been getting these so-called “visions”, where she remembers a part of her life where it’s like she’s the one looking in on herself and the people around her from a window.”

“I wouldn’t really know Clark, but I’m guessing that this is common for someone with amnesia.” Lois knew she got Clark this time, she could tell by his arched eyebrows.

“How so?” Clark retorted, Lois had beaten him, and he didn’t like it when she did.

“Well, how do you expect her to see her memories? When you look back on your life what point of view do you have?” Lois was practically doing a happy dance about now, and she was working her way over to the fridge for some lemonade to congratulate herself on her victory.

“I guess you’re right.” Clark said flatly.

“I know, so when do I get to see Lana?” Lois was now excited to see Clark’s high school sweet..... ‘Oh no, Lana’s back only days before their wedding, but Clark love’s me doesn’t he? He wouldn’t do anything to hurt me, but I wouldn’t want him to be locked in a marriage out of guilt, I want him to be happy too.’

“I was thinking we could go visit her today. If that’s okay with you.” Lois was staring out the window lost in her own thoughts, and Clark thought it would be fun to jolt her out of them. He wlked right up next to her ear and said, okay more like yellled, “ LOIS!” Lois had jumped about a foot off of the ground and Clark had broken out in a laughing fit. “You should have seen your face!”

“Very funny Smallville!” Lois barked. Trying to divert the attention from her little act she was going to ask Clark where they would meet Lana, “So Clark, where are we going to meet up with Lana?”

“I was going to call her and ask if we could all go down to the Talon today, and do you think it would be okay if she came to the rehearsal dinner and the wedding?” Clark was ready for anything after he asked Lois the last part of the question.

“Sure Clark” ‘What am I saying!?’ “I mean, you two have known eachother for years, and both of you were really good friends with eachother, I wouldn’t want you to leave her out of your life.” ‘No, I do want you to leave her out of your life, I don’t want to see her anywhere near you!’

“Thanks, I’m going to go call her and tell her that we’ll meet her at The Talon today at 12:00. After I call her I’ll help you bring your bags up to my room.” Clark gave her a quick peck on the cheek and hurried upstairs to the phone.

(A small inn a few blocks down from the Talon)

Lana heard the phone ring or it was more like a shuddering gasp of a ring, so she went to pick it up.

“Hello?”

“Hi, Lana? Clark said, hoping he got the right number.

“Oh, hi Clark. Why are you calling? Did you find out anything about my amnesia? Lana asked hopefully, but she wasn’t too diss apointed with Clark’s answer, after all this meanns she would get to spend more time with him to try and figure out what happened.

“Actually Lois just got here and we were wondering if you’d like to meet up with us at the Talon today at 12:00.”

“Of course I’ll go, you said that Lois and I were friends so I would really like to see her even if I can’t remember her.” Lana was excited to see Lois, but strangely dissapointeed that she came.

“Okay, so I’ll see you at twelve then, or I mean we’ll see you at twelve. Bye Lana.”

“Bye Clark, and say hi to Lois for me.” Lana hung up the phone with a heavy heart; she had a feeling that she and Lois weren’t going to be on the best of terms with eachother.

(Flashback)

Lois was breathing heavily and she was digging up Chloe’s grave. She was already waist deep in the earth. She stoped digging and looked around, revealing that her face was sweaty and covered with dirt. Then she turned back to the tombstone and planted the shovel in the dirt next to her with determination.

Lois: I hope that Clark is right. Otherwise, this is gonna’ get really ugly, Chlo.

Lois toss the shovel to the side of the grave, then takes a deep breath, motivating herself.

Lois: Okay.

She kneels down in the grave and brushes the remaining dirt off of the top half of Chloe's coffin. Once the lid of the coffin is in view, she hesitates. Then she closes her eyes and pulls the coffin open slowly. When it is open, Lois slowly opens her eyes and is visibly startled.

The coffin turned out to be empty.

Lois: He was right.

Lois closes the coffin and stands up. A young man, Trent, stands next to a tree several meters behind Lois.

Trent: Where's Chloe Sullivan?

Lois: Who the hell are you?

Trent: You'd better tell me where she is.

Trent walks toward Lois. His head is shaved almost down to the skin. He wears a black shirt and black pants and a brown trench coat. Lois jumps out of the grave and reaches into her bag, pulling out a can of pepper spray. She hides it behind her back as she walks toward Trent.

Lois: What? The posse couldn't get to me the first time, so the boss sent you? You can both kiss my ass.

Lois and Trent are now standing face to face. Trent holds his right hand behind his back and it turns silver, morphing into a large metal blade. Then he brings his arm forward, swinging the blade at
Lois. She tries to spray Trent in the eyes, but he knocks her to the ground, causing her to lose her grip on the pepper spray that lands next to her shovel.

Trent swings at Lois again and she backs away. Trent's blade connects with a nearby tombstone, breaking off a large chunk.

Somebody picks up the shovel and pepper spray, though Lois couldn’t see who it was.

Trent leans over Lois and pulls his arm back, preparing to run her through with the blade, when he is suddenly bashed on the back of the head by the shovel. He turns around and sees Lana who shoots the pepper spray into his eyes.

Trent: Aah!

Trent grabs his eyes and falls to the ground. Lana drops the shovel and goes to Lois, helping her to her feet.

Lana: Are you okay?

They both look toward where Trent was lying. He is gone.

Lois: Where the hell did he go? Medieval psychopath.

Lana: I guess you'd have to be in order to dig up a grave in the middle of the day.

Lois: Actually, that was me. It's my cousin's grave. Lois Lane.

Lana shakes her hand.

Lana: Lana Lang.

(End of Flashback)

The small alarm clock in her room buzzed once it urned 11:45, she had set it to know when to head over to the Talon. She hurriedly dashed out the door and made sure that it locked behind her. Once she reached the Talon she could easily see the back of Clark’s head, because so far of the people she had seen in Smallville Clark was the tallest one there. She also spotted another person standing closely to him, and when she turned around, it was none onther then Lois Lane.

Here's the next update, I really like you're feedback, so please reply!

The door to the Talon swung open and a small bell rang out among the crowd in the humble coffee shop as Lana entered. She worked her way to the one head that was towering above the rest and then finally reached her destination.

“Clark?” Lana was almost sure that this was Clark, but the man had his back on her and she just wanted to be sure.

The tall man slowly turned around and when he saw her a gracious beam swept across his face. “Lana! There you are, Lois and I were beginning to think you wouldn’t show. Lois is at the counter right now getting something to drink, so she should be back any second now. I’ll point her out to you if I can find her.”

Lana had cringed at the name Lois, and she hoped Clark hadn’t seen her do so.“It’s okay Clark, you don’t have to pint her out to me, I already know what she looks like.” The expression on Clark’s face was asking so many questions, but Lana was only able to give him so many answers.

“Have you gotten your memory back yet?” Clark asked ready to rejoice if she said yes.

“No, but I did have another vision.” Lana wasn’t sure how to explain it; how come Lois was in Chloe’s grave, it made no sense, and Chloe is alive not dead. And who was that man with the metal blade for a hand? She was so confused.

“What happened in your vision?” Clark was now worried yet somewhat intrigued with these “visions” Lana was having, but he was also glad she was having them, because if she hadn’t been she wouldn’t hace remembered him.

“Um, well at first I saw... Lois!” Lana was about to explain her little grave-digging adventure to Clark, but right at that moment a woman wearing some dark jeans and a nice light blue t-shirt that hung off one of her shoulders walked right up to Clark and automatically gave him a light kiss on the lips, and when Lana saw the kiss, she knew it didn’t match what she and Clark once shared. They had a relationship full of longing and passion and not to mention love, while Lois and Clark had contentment and anger, and sarcasm.

“Lana, I can’t believe it, you are alive!” Lois took Lana up in a big hug, and Lana felt her breathing getting shakier before Lois let her go. It was almost like Lois was purposely trying to suffocate her.

“Yeah, here I am. Not dead and buried in the Metropolis Cemetery, lucky for me.” Lana was now starting to feel resentment towrds Lois, something she had never truly felt towards a person, but Lois was different, Lois was stealing Clark from her, and that just can’t happen.

Clark could sense the tenseness in the air so he decided to butt in, “ Lois, Lana was starting to tell me about one of her “visions” she had this morning before she came, remember I was telling you about them?” Clark was trying to tell Lois all of this with a smile plastered to his face, something that is very hard to do. Clark was looking at Lois who had a smile similar to Clark’s on her face, which would have made anyone think she was being friendly, but when you looked at her eyes you could almost feel the anger.

“Really? What was it about? Lana?” Lois was trying to be nice, but it was hard to be nice to someone who could end up ruining your wedding day.

“Well, it actually started off with you digging up a grave, Chloe’s grave to be exact. And I’m not exactly sure how that could’ve been Chloe’s grave in the first place. I mean I saw her with my own eyes.” Lana was still confused about that part and she decided to tell Clark about it.

“There’s actually a very long and slightly complicated story that goes along with that grave. I guess I’ll explain.” Clark took Lana and Lois over to a petite table, a table that was very hard for Clark to squeeze into, and because of this both Lana and Lois broke out in a giggling fit. After that very funny scene Clark began telling Lana about how Chloe got involved in something very dangerous and how Lionel Luthor had tried to kill her but she escaped and lived. And how everyone thought she was dead so they had a grave for her.

“So you’re saying that in there was no one in the grave because Chloe had survived?” Lana was glad to heear Clark reassure her that the Chloe she had seen was not a ghost.

“Yes, so what else happened in
your “vision”?” Clark couldn’t help but laugh at the thought of Lois digging up a grave.

“There was this guy that came up behind Lois and started asking her where Chloe was and then Lois got up and grabbed a bottle of pepper spray and hid it behind her back, and the other guy had somehow transformed his arm into a metal blade and attacked Lois. She had dropped the pepper spray, and that was when I came in and hit him in the back of the head with a shovel when he was about to kill Lois,” ‘actually that wouldn’t have been half bad’ “and then he turned around and I sprayed pepper spray in his eyes, and then he just dissapeared. That’s when I kind ofinsulted Lois, but only on accident.” Lana was a little embarrased about the last part of her vision.

“You insulted Lois? Wow, I didn’t think it was possible.” Clark almost looked and sounded like a giddy schoolgirl right then, which Lana thought was amusing to watch.

“Yeah, I did sort of insult her, she had called the blade guy a Medieval psychopath, and then I said that you’d have to be in order to dig up someone’s grave in the middle of the day.” Lana was trying to look embarrased about it, but she was actually very pleased with herself.

“That’s a really great story, I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of that one.” Clark was now cackling at this certain recollection of Lana’s, Lana thought it was cute, but Lois thought otherwise.

“Well now that we’ve got that out of the way, Clark and I were wondering if you’d like to come to our rehearsal dinner and wedding, Lana?” Lois said all this through gritted teeth.

Lana was surprised at this offer, she hadn’t suspected Lois to actually want her to go to the wedding, and Lana wasn’t sure if she could handle it. She knew Clark was getting married to someone he didn’t really love, and all she wanted him to be was happy, but she knew he would never be happy with Lois, sure it was selfish to think that, but it was true. She knew he loved her, he was just too much of a kind person to break off the engagement with Lois, and he didn’t want her to get hurt in the process.

“That would be great, just tell me when and where, and I’ll make sure to be there.” When Lana looked over at Lois she had a very tight smile sewn to her face, but Clark on the other hand would be able to fit his whole hand in his mouth with a grin like that.

“Great! Lois, do you think you could make Lana one of your maids of honor?” Clark was ecstatic that Lana would be part of the wedding, but he was secretly wishing she would take up the lead role instead.

“Clark, I don’t think Lois would want me...” Lana felt it would be too awkward to be one of Lois’s maids of honor, she barely even knew Lois.

“No, Lana, I want you to be up there standing next to Chloe and me, it’ll be great, and I already have the dresses picked out, so all you need to do is get yours fitted.” ‘Keep your friends close, and keep your enemies closer.’

(Flashback)

Chloe leaves the Torch and Lana walks behind the desk where there is a cardboard box on the floor. She starts to pick it up when she notices several crumpled up pieces of paper that have fallen out of the overflowing wastebasket. She throws them away and finds a pink piece of paper with typing on it. She opens it.

Lana: "I want to let you in on a secret, Clark. I'm not who you think I am. In fact, my disguise is so thin I'm surprised you haven't seen right through me. I'm the girl of your dreams masquerading as your best friend."

She lowers the letter, realizing.

(End of flashback)

Clark and Lois were staring at Lana, they had both been asking her questions, but she wasn’t answering, when she finally came to, Clark’s handsome face was only an inch from her own face. “Clark!”

“Good, Lana, we were starting to worry about you, we kept asking you questions, and you were just staring out into space. Wait, did you have another vision?” Clark asked anxiously.

“Uh, no, I was just, um, thinking.” Lana lied, she had just realized that Lois was having Chloe and her lined up along the aisle while she paraded Clark before them, showing him off to the two people who had once loved him before, or in Lana’s case, still loved him.

“Okay, well if your okay, I think Lois and I should get going, we have to do some more planning for the wedding, I hope to see you either tomorrow or later today, and I just want you to know that you can come by the farm anytime you want, and we can just talk.” Clark was now looking at Lana with passion in his oceanic blue
eyes, but there was also sadness mixed in with the passion.

“I would really like that, thanks Clark. But only if it’s okay with Lois.” Lana had noticed the sorrow in his eyes and she wished she could make it go away, but that sorrow came in the form of Lois, and murder she was for sure, illegal.

Here's the next part, and you all are being great as always, I appreciate your feedback and enjoy reading it.

(A small inn a few blocks down from the Talon)

Lana lay awake on her bed pondering the reasons why Clark would want to marry Lois, but she needn’t stay pondering for long, because she only thought of one thing, and that was so he didn’t hurt Lois’s feelings. It was eleven o’ clock at night and there were no more then three cars traveling the roads through town, I guess it was because things pretty much stopped in Smallville around ten. Lana felt a sudden urge to go to the Kent Farm, she didn’t know why, but for some reason she felt she had to, it was like her instincts were telling her to go. She slowly removed her pajama bottoms and put on some jeans and then took off her pajama top and put on a black long sleeved shirt and a coat. She could barely see through the rain-streaked window, and the light coming from outside was very dim which should have made it easier to see. Lana hurried outside, and since she didn’t have a car she would have to walk instead, she ran quickly down the road, only stopping under overhangings from shops to sheild herself from the icy rain.

A while later she finally reached the Kent Farm, and no lights were on in the house, but there was a faint light coming from inside the loft. Lana quietly walked into the barn and looked silently up the stairs, from the angle she was standing at she couldn’t see anyone, she slowly conquered the last few steps with ease, but once she reached the top stair it let out a horrible squeal, and to her surprise a frightened Clark turned towards the stairs expecting to find his mother telling him to get to bed, but instead his eyes fixed on Lana.

As his eyes locked on Lana he noticed that with age she had only become more beautiful, the thin scars he had noticed earlier looked more diminshed in the soft light, and her eyes shone with the light of the full moon.

“Lana? What are you doing here?” Clark looked nervous and Lana noticed, he hadn’t wanted Lana to come near him anymore before his wedding so he wouldn’t change his mind about marrying Lois, and apparently his plan wasn’t working.

“The thing is... I’m not really sure.” Lana felt just as nervous as Clark, but luckily hid it better then he was.

“What do you mean?” Clark stole a look at the old alark clock resting on his desk that was covered in dust. It was almost twelve o’ clock. “Do you know that it’s almost twelve?” Clark wasn’t sure why he’d said the last part, and it seemed silly because Lana has been up here at twelve before, and that seemed to turn out okay.

“Um, yeah, I’m really sorry about that, but for some odd reason I felt myself drawn to this place, and anyways you said I could stop by ant time I feel like it. Right?” Lana couldn’t help but laugh at Clark’s expression; it was one of joy, nervousness, and love. Except the love bit, she could tell, he was trying to hide from her.

“Okay then, take a seat.” Clark gestured towards his large and worn old couch, which Lana graciously sat upon. ‘How is she still able to do this to me after six years?’

“Clark?” Clark had been staring straight into Lana’s eyes, and she couldn’t help but smile, but she also felt a need to turn away, it was her kindness telling her to do so. Her kindness was telling her to not get in the way of Lois and Clark’s marriage, but in her opinion, she had way too much kindness.

“Oh! Sorry Lana, I-I just.” Clark was fumbling for a moment with his own words, and his face grew redder with each word.

“It’s okay Clark, you don’t have to explain.” Lana was silently laughing at Clark, she always thought it was cute when he got caught up in his own words. “I was also going to ask you if Chloe found out anything about why I was put in the hospital, or the whereabouts of that Jason guy so I can ask him why he told everyone I was dead?” Lana needed answer, she wanted a normal life, but she was betting she couldn’t really have one if she had amnesia, she so badly wanted to remember, but as of yet she had only gained a few of her memories.

“Yes, actually Chloe found out a few things.” Clark searched around on his desk looking for a folder that contained the information Chloe had dug up, and finally he found it under a few marriage catalogs that he would later have to throw away, with or without a wedding.

Lana watched Clark search, his eyes darting back and forth searching for the folder that part of her life lies in, and then he found it. He handed it over to her without any hesitation and then he sat right down next to her on his battered couch. Lana didn’t wait to open it, she flipped open the folder and found that it was pretty full.

“Wow, Chloe really did find a lot of information. How was she able to find all of this stuff?” Lana frantically skimmed the pages as she waited for Clark to answer.

“That’s Chloe for you, she has a lot of contacts all over Kansas that help her find out information on totally random things. In high school she actually had a project called the Wall of Weird.” Clark smiled serenely as he revisited his memories of his days in the Torch with Chloe and Pete, not exactly something you’d be smiling serenely about when there were always meteor freaks on the loose that Clark would have to chase down.

“What exactly is the Wall of Weird? Or should I say was?” After a few visits from Chloe Lana was able to determine the fact that Chloe was very much into strange things.

“The Wall of Weird consisted of newspaper clippings and pictures of the strange happenings around Smallville after the first... meteor shower.” Clark had taken a slow pause before he said meteor shower because he knew Chloe had toold Lana that her parents were killed in it.

“It’s okay Clark, and were these stories true?” Clark smiled faintly at this question, he thought it was kind of funny Lana was asking him this, because she had been the one that the meteor freaks would always go after.

“They are very true, I bet if you had your memory you wouldn’t have had to ask me that question.” Lana gave him a questioning look, so he decided to move on, “You were always the one right in the middle of it, I mean to say that the people affected by the meteors would always end up going after you.” Lana’s look of questioning faded and instead there was a look of horror.

“If I was always the one they would go after then how am I still alive today.” Lana thought that she had just asked a reasonable question that Clark should be able to answer.

“About that, see, no one was really sure off how you were always saved, we think it was some guy that kept saving you.” Clark knew he couldn’t tell Lana that he would always save her, it didn’t seem right, well, not yet at least.

“Do you know his name? I was thinking I could maybe thank him.” Lana said this shyly with her head lowered as if she was thinking.

“I’m sorry, I don’t really know who the guy was, I’ve only seen him a few times for who he really is, and I’d rather not talk about him. But I think we should start looking through the folder Chloe gave you.” Clark was telling Lana the truth; he wasn’t sure who he really was.

“Okay.” A wide grin spread across Lana’s face as she pulled out the first sheet of paper and began to read it while Clark took the second and did the same. This went on like that for about an hour until they got through all the papers. Lana had been soaking in as much information as she could, from her child hood up until highschool; there were only a few things that went past her age of eighteen. They consisted of Jason’s adress and phone number, where she had lived before with Jason in Metropolis, and a few things like her favorite color and favorite food, but that was it. She decided that what she had to do now was to go find Jason and ask him what happpened in Metropolis.

“Clark, I think I know what I have to do.” Lana looked straight into Clark’s eyes, hisdeep blue eyes that looked like they would go one forever, Lana caught herself right before she got lost in them and she looked away.

“What?” Clark had seen Lana turn away from his gaze, but he knew it wasn’t because it was uncomfortable, it was because she didn’t want anyone to get hurt because of her, she didn’t even want Loisto get hurt, and Clark was guessing that the same could not be said from Lois about Lana.

“I have to go find Jason and ask him what happened, he is the one that should know what happened, and I want to find out. It says he lives in Granville, now all I have to do is find out where that is.” Lana had a determined look on her face, but a trace of fear lingered in her eyes.

“Lana, I want to go with you!” Clark lightly grabbed her wrist before she left and it caused her to turn around,

“No Clark, you’re wedding is in three days, I want you to spend that time with Lois, okay?” Lana pleaded for Clark not to come, but there was something about him that she couldn’t resist, and so she abandoned her own theory about how she didn’t want to hurt Lois and she agreed to Clark coming with her. “Fine, you can come, but don’t tell Lois that I’m going to be with you, we can leave this morning around seven, can you meet me by the inn I’m staying at?”

“Of course, by the way, did you walk here?” Clark hadn’t seen a car when he past by the loft window and he was wondering how Lana got here last night.

“I kinda walked, well more like I ran, and then stopped under something that would keep the rain off of my face, and then I ran again.” Lana was thinking about how funny that must’ve looked to a person watching her.

“Well, I could drive you back, Lois won’t mind, and it won’t take very long.” Clark asked hoping that Lana would say yes, and he wasn’t dissapointed.

(A small inn a few blocks from the Talon)

Both Lana and Clark had decided to sleep in until seven after Clark dropped Lana off at her hotel room. An alarm clock went off flashing the time, which was 6:45, a delicate hand came down hard on the top of it probably hoping to smash it to pieces, but in the end the alarm clock prevailed. Lana slowly slid out from under her comfortable sheet and out of her peaceful slumber, wiping the sleep from her bright eyes. She strolled over to the shower, and hoped it wouldn’t be cold, it was. She quickly finished before the water coming out of the showre became small sharp ice pellets; it felt like the water would any second. While pulling on a deep red shirt and then layering it with a light brown jacket she glanced over at the alarm clock and saw that it read in bright red numbers 6:59. ‘Clark should be here any minute.’ Right then Lana ended up tripping over her pants, the pants she was supposed to be wearing, not sitting on. The doorbell range and Lana frantically threw on her pants and some socks and shoes before she rushed out the door, and right into Clark.

(The Kent Farm)

Clark hadn’t yet told Lois that he was leaving to Granville to go find Jason, with Lana. He wasn’t sure how to do it, should he just say “Hey Lois, Lana and I are going to Granville together to look for Jason Teague.” Or “I hope you don’t mind, but I have to attend to some important buissiness in Granville, and I have to go today, I’m so sorry.” Clark decided it would be better to go with the latter. The small alarm clock sitting next to his computer read 6:45, he had already done his chores, taken a shower, and gotten dressed, all he had to do was tell Lois what he was about to do. He slowly waled over to the not-so-silent Lois, Clark found out on their first night of living together that Lois snored when she slept but it wasn’t much of a surprise to Clark because he figured if Lois was annoying in the daytime she’s probably just annoying at night, he gently placed a hand on her shoulder in an attempt not to scare her but to wake her up calmly. She finally woke up after she grabbed his arm and tried to bite it.

“Clark! I’m sorry I didn’t know it was you! Did I hurt.... oops, I forgot, it’s going to take me awhile to get used to that, so what do ya’ need?” Lois sat on top of Clark’s large bed staring straight into his eyes.

“Um, I have to go to Granville for some buisiness, so I should be back later today if not tomorrow, and I’m sorry, I know how much you wanted the two of us to just hang out with eachother today.” Clark concluded with puppy dog eyes and he jutted out his bottom lip for a little more effect.

“What do you have to do in Granville? Is Perry making you interview someone over there?” Lois asked this nonchalantly, but her mind was spinning, ‘How could he go off on buisness three days before our wedding!? Our we even going to have the wedding?!’ Lois wasn’t sure what would happen, but she didn’t want to get in a big fight right now and ruin their chances of marriage so she just let it go and she was going to let Clark go to Granville.

“Yeah, he’s having me interview this football guy.” Clark saw the puzzled face Lois gave him so he decided to add something more to his explanation. “Perry didn’t give me all the details, he just said I should pick up the folder on the guy once I get to Granville.” Clark was relieved to see that Lois wasn’t going to ask him any more questions; he was definitely not the best liar.

“Okay, just try and be back as soon as you can, and I want you to know that I really love you.” She was sincere in her words to Clark; she just wasn’t sure how he felt back.

Clark pulled her into a hug and gave her a soft kiss on the lips, and then left so he could get to Lana’s on time. He pulled up into the hotel parking lot and he thought he heard a crash coming fom Lana’s room so he ran over there and rang the doorbell hoping to find Lana unharmed, and then the door swung open and she toppled right into Clark who pretended to fall back a little but the catch his balance.

“Hey Lana, what’s the hurry?” Clark was laughing at Lana’s appearance, her hair was still a little wet from her shower and her shirt was on back wards, but she was still the most beautiful woman that had ever graced his prescence.

“I...” Lana stopped to catch her breath and then continued, “I was trying to finish getting dressed before you got here and I, well you can probably tell by how I look.” Lana laughed with Clark when he tried to take in her disheveled appearance.

“I heard a crash coming from inside your room, are you okay?” Clark was worried about Lana, because he knew she couldn’t remember certain things, and he just wanted to make sure she was all right.

“Oh that! I’m fine, but I’d rather not talk about it if you don’t mind.” Lana was remembering falling over her stationary pants, what a klutz, she thought she might have a new bruise stationed on her butt, because when she sat down in Clark’s truck it felt sore.

Clark noticed Lana make a strange face when she sat down, so he decided to ask what was wrong. “Lana, are you okay?”

“I’m fine, really, I just have a bruise, um, somewhere.” Lana was trying to avoid telling Clark how she tripped over pants that weren’t even moving and were flat on the ground. “We should get going.”

“Yeah, sure.” Clark threw the truck into drive and they started passing farmhouses and small buildings along the way to Granville.

Lana stared out the window at the
scenery, there was once again silence, but not the kind where you start to feel nervous but the kind where you feel peaceful and warm, this was the feeling she got around Clark, a feeling of immense love, in fact, words could not describe what she felt for Clark, but it was something amazing, something that she wanted to feel everyday for the rest of her life, but after the wedding, Lois would be the one feeling the way Lana felt right now. And Lana would be left feeling alone, and like she could have had something better, but was too afraid to take the chance. Lana ended up sliding into a peaceful slumber because she knew Clark was there to protect her.

Clark saw Lana drifting off and he decided not to wake her, he wanted her to be comfortable, and he didn’t want to disturb her. He watched the road for a little bit longer until they reached Granville and he stopped at a McDonalds where he was going to get Lana and him something to eat. He quietly climbed out of the red truck and down to the pavement where any normal persons legs would feel wobbly after a long car ride but where Clark’s legs felt normal. He left the car and then returned a few minutes later with two waters and two bacon egg n’ cheese biscuits.

Lana had woken up after Clark had left to get some food and she wondered where she was, and she finally remembered she was in Clark’s truck where she could even slightly smell his soap-like aroma. She looked around and it seemed like Clark had stopped at a McDonalds, and right as she was thinking that the scent of bacon and eggs wafted up into the truck and Clark soon follwed.

As soon as Clark hopped into the truck he saw that Lana had woken up and she was staring straight at the food cradled in his arms.

“I wasn’t sure what you wanted, so I just got you the same thing I got myself, I hope it’s okay.” Clark was eager to dig into his breakfast, but he would wait for Lana to register the fact that he was back in the truck with her first.

“That’s fine thank you.” She hastily took the breakfast sandwich from Clark’s hand and started to unwrap the paper around it and started eating.

Clark watched Lana in shock, he hadn’t known a girl of Lana’s size could polish off one of those breakfast sandwiches so fast, she ate it almost as fast as Clark had and then she took a big gulp of her almost frozen ice water.

“Are you okay Clark? You look like you’ve just seen a ghost.” Lana giggled at Clark’s facial expression, he just stared at her in shock, and then it hit her, he had just seen her gulp down a very large sandwich, and she then felt her cheeks turning a bright red. I guess I should have told you that when I lived with Chloe we would drive over to a McDonalds and have eating contests, you know, like who can eat their burgers the fastest, and I was the champion, Chloe only one once, she eats like a bird.”

“How did you remember that?” Clark stared at Lana in shock when she recounted a story that had happened almost nine years ago, he was even more shocked than when he saw Lana eat so much in so little time.

“I-I don’t know, I just remembered it without thinking about how I couldn’t remember anything, it just came to me, I that makes any sense.” Lana was just as surprised as Clark that she just remembered something without having a “vision”.

“Maybe that's it was just because
you were doing something familiar to you that you remembered.” Clark was excited now, and he hoped Lana would be able to remember what had happened six years ago that caused her amnesia in the first place.

“I think we should go find Jason now and not get too excited over me recovering a memory.” Lana was excited too but she wanted to find Jason more, she wondered if she would feel the same way about Jason as she did for Clark, she thought that if she ditched Clark for this guy he must be amazing.

They finally reached the apartment Jason was staying in, it was in a nice and clean neighborhood that smelled of fresh cut grass, and Jason’s apartment was right on the first level so Lana and Clark didn’t have to walk very far.
Lana wanted to see Jason first, so she walked confidently up to his door and rapped her knuckle hard on the cream colored door. She was about to knock again when a man in his late twenties popped his head out of the door, he had nice features and a kind face, but that didn’t mean he was kind, as soon as he saw the young woman who had knocked on the door his eyes grew large and he pulled his full body out from behind the door, and in total shock he said, “Lana?”

I hope that was good enough for now, and I'll be back in a week!

Okay, here is the next chapter, I hope you like it, it's more of a filler chapter, and the Clana should be coming up very soon.

Any sane person looking at this scenario would think that Jason was in shock because he thought Lana was dead, and there she was, standing right in front of him, alive. But in Jason’s head, there were different questions that he wanted answered. Questions he thought he would not have to worry about, not after what he had done.

“I can’t believe it. Lana, you’re alive! You’re alive!” Jason said aghast, he had noticed a few scars lining her beautiful face, and he was proud of his handy work.

“So you must be Jason? Right?” Lana was confused, why did this man keep telling her she was alive? Did he think she was dead too?

“Yeah, would you like to come in?” Jason had his corrupt mind at work, scheming how he could get Lana into bed again so he could have his way with her. Wait; did she just say you must be Jason? She doesn’t remember me? “Lana, you don’t remember who I am?” Jason was feigning hurt so she would feel guilty, and ‘hopefully’ he thought, ‘that will make her more vulnerable.

“I’m sorry I forgot to tell you, I have amnesia, which means that I can’t remember things.” Lana felt like she needed to explain this to the now furious man standing in front of her, he didn’t seem like the kind of person who would know what amnesia meant.

“I know what amnesia means!” And for a second he let his short temper prevail. He quickly turned around and walked back into the house gesturing towards the couch for Lana to sit on. She slowly made her way to the black leather couch and sat down carefully. Jason snapped the door shut before Clark even got one foot in. Clark knocked vigorously until Jason finally opened the door to let him in.

“I’m sorry Clark, I didn’t notice you there. But it’s nice to see you again, how’re you’re parents doing?” Jason had a holier-than-thou expression on his face when Clark went to sit down with Lana on the modern couch.

“They’re fine, thank you.” Clark said this through clenched teeth and a forced smile.

“So what brings you two to my humble abode? I’m guessing you two aren’t selling Girl Scout cookies.” Jason started to laugh at his own joke but was quickly quieted by one glower from Clark, who compared to Jason was very big.

Lana had looked around and noticed that Jason’s house definitely wasn’t as comfortable as Clark’s; Jason’s house was all too modern for her, she definitely didn’t feel comfortable here, but as long as she was with Clark she was safe. She noticed Jason seemed like a pervert to some extent, and she wondered why she even went out with this jerk, he was definitely no Clark Kent. “Actually, I wanted to ask you if you know anything about what happened between us in Metropolis, it may help me remember what happened to cause my amnesia and it may help me remember everything.” Lana was sitting on the edge of the couch and the hairs on her neck were pricked up.

Jason knew he couldn’t tell Lana what really happened, so he decided to make up a little story, one that would make sure Lana wouldn’t ask him any more questions. But he hoped that he could get her alone sometime, he ached to be with her again, so he could have the power and feel her getting weaker with every blow so he could have her. “Well, there wasn’t much that happened.”

“Well, do you think you could tell me what did happen?” Lana was eager to find out, she wanted the truth, and she got a feeling that Jason wasn’t one to tell it.

“Okay,” Jason quickly glanced at Clark who gave him a deathly stare, and Jason then hurriedly continued with his story, “I don’t remember it that well, but I do remember that we had been living in our apartment for about three months in separate rooms and every morning you would get up and go get a coffee at a small coffee shop a few blocks from our apartment, then you would head over to your waitressing job at the restaurant Luthor’s, a very fancy restaurant. Then you would come home we would have dinner and you would go straight to your room and lock the door, I would always worry something had happened to you, but you would never tell me. That went on until the car accident, and the police told me you had died in the crash, and your body had been burned up in the flames. ‘So maybe I left out the parts about me begging you to get in bed with me every night, and you being too scared, and then the part about the car accident I totally made up, don’t get me wrong, there was an accident, it was just that you weren’t in it.’ Jason thought all this to himself while Clark stared worriedly at Lana, who was now almost in tears because none of what Jason said had helped her.

“That’s it?” Lana felt tears prick the back of her eyes, Jason was her last hope and nothing he said had helped, she was still clueless to what had happened.

“I’m really sorry Lana, I wish I could help you, but there’s nothing that I can think of that would help you remember.” Jason had always been one to make people believe him when he was lying, and this was just onme of those times.

“Lana, I think we should leave.” Clark knew Lana was truly hurt at Jason’s words, and he wanted her to not have to go through this kind of pain. She nodded her head slowly and she started walking glumly torwards the door.

“No, she could stay and we could catch up.” Jason pleaded but Clark, being the good man that he is, made sure that Jason wouldn’t try to boother Lana again.

“I don’t think so!” Clark let out those words in what seemed to be a menacing growl, and Jason quickly backed off not wanting to get hurt, all he could say was bye before Clark slammed the door behind him on his way out.

(Outside of Jason’s apartment)

“Lana, I’m sorry that Jason hadn’t helped you, but I think he was hiding something.” Clark had only been wrong about people a few times before, and he was hoping that he wasn’t wrong now.

“You thought that too?” Lana was glad she wasn’t the only one who had picked up that vibe, she had a strong feeling Jason was hiding something and he didn’t want her to find out.

Lana and Clark sat in silence the whole way to the hotel that they would be staying at that night, Clark had thought Lana needed to relax, so he had booked a room in a hotel so she could just think things through and in the morning they could maybe go interrogate Jason some more. The sky was beginning to darken and Lana had already adorned her pajamas and crawled into the large bed. This room was much nicer than the one she had rented in Smallville, and she wondered how Clark was able to afford this, and speaking of Clark, he was going to be sleeping on the small couch at the other end of their room, Lana had suggested that she sleep on the couch because she was smaller, but Clark insisted that he sleep there because he wanted her to be comfortable.

Clark stared out the window that gave them a pretty good view of Granville and he couldn’t help but think of what Jason had done to Lana to make her forget her past, he was determined to figure it out, just to make Lana happy again. Later that night after Clark had finally found a comfortable position he heard screaming comingg from Lana’s bed.

Lana had been sleeping peacefully until an all too familiar nightmare invaded her good dreams. She was lying on a bed and a weak looking man strode over to where she slept, he quicly pulled down his pants and jumped on top of her, she could hear herself scream and it felt all too real. She felt warm blood rushing from her head and a cold fist collided with her ribs and it felt as if one of her ribs had snapped. She tasted blood in her mouth and she felt bruises all over her body, the man sitting over her was laughing as he pulled down her pants, she screamed for him to stop but whenever she yelled he would keep punching her and telling her to shut up. He slipped his tongue into her mouth and forced it deep into her throat, she gave up, he had won, and that was when she passed out. Her clothes in rags and body weak.

Clark knew something was wrong so he ran over to her and pulled her up into a soft embrace hoping that she would stop screaming. She woke up as soon as he touched her and she began to hit him, yelling at him to stop, but he didn’t let go, he just held her more tightly and told her every thing would be all right in a soothing voice. She slowly calmed down and fell back into a deep sleep with Clark holding onto her for support.

The next morning she woke up in Clark’s strong arms and she began to wonder what was going on. “Clark? What are you doing?”

Clark heard what sounded like the voice of an angel, and he thought he must still be asleep, but then he felt someone shaking him awake and he opened his eyes startled, Lana was sitting beside him and asking him why he was holding her. “Lana, I’m sorry, I must’ve fallen asleep.” Clark rubbed his eyes groggily and glanced over at the alarm clock, which shone 7:14.

“That’s okay Clark, but why were you over here on the bed with me?” Lana wasn’t sure what Clark’s answer was going to be but it better be a good one.

“I heard you screaming last night and went over to see if you were okay and when I touched you you had started hitting me and yelling at me to stop, but you finally fell back to sleep when I didn’t let go and I didn’t want to wake you so I guess I just fell asleep with you still in my arms.” Clark wasn’t sure how Lana would react, and he also wanted to know what she was screaming about.

“Oh, I didn’t know, sorry.” Lana was glad Clark was there to comfort her in her time of need he was always there.

“It’s okay, but can you remember what you were dreaming about?” Clark was worried about her and it was important that she told him what happened.

“Vaguely, all I remember was a man and pain, I know there was pain.” She felt like crying, but she didn’t know why, the pain felt so real, and the man seemed so familiar. It was all so overwhelming, and all she wanted was for it to be over. That was when Clark took her up in his arms and they lingered in that embrace for minutes on end, it was as if time had stopped and their hearts had collided, leaving them stranded in a world of love and passion, but then they broke apart leaving that feeling behind.

I hope that was long enough for now, and I hope you enjoyed it.

Here's the next update, and I'm sorry that there's no Clana in this chapter, but I promise there will be Clana soon.

“You mean that the nightmare you just had was the one where you get raped right?” Clark’s face shone a look that let Lana know he was concerned about her.

“Yeah, I think so. But this time it was different, this time I had seen the man who did it to me. And you can call me crazy, but I think it was Jason Teague.”

Clark had anticipated who Lana would say it was, and in Clark’s mind he knew it was Jason, even if Lana had said someone else’s name he still would’ve thought it was Jason. He could see it in Jason’s eyes, they craved power, and the way he was getting that power was by doing what he did to Lana to others too. Women who had no idea what would happen once they stepped into his house. ‘He’s an ignorant jerk who deserves to die.’ Clark felt as if he wanted to kill Jason. ‘But that would be wrong, yes it would Clark. Oh great now I’m talking to myself in my head.’

“Clark, are you alright?” Clark had been pacing around the room thinking of different ways to get revenge on Jason, all which involved pain on his part.

“He deserves to know what it’s like, the things that he did to you and all the others he hurt.” Clark was fuming now, this man hurt Lana, and he doesn’t deserve to live. Clark was almost in tears now, he could feel them boiling behind his eyes, he wanted Lana to be happy and not have to go through all this pain.

Lana walked over to Clark who was now curled up on the couch sobbing into his large hands. She had never seen him like this; it was so unlike him to be breaking down in front of her. “Clark, it’s okay, we’ll find a way to stop him, don’t worry. Don’t cry Clark, it’s not your fault.”

“No Lana, it is my fault!” Clark yelled at her, the anger was prominent in his raging voice. “If I hadn’t let you go to Metropolis with him, you never would’ve gotten hurt and had to live in a hospital for six years, if I hadn’t hurt you to begin with...” The tears were gone but large sobs and resided instead.

“Clark, it wasn’t your fault, it was my choice to go with Jason, well at least from what I can remember.” Lana had begun to run her fingers through Clark’s untamed hair, she hadn’t known why she did it, but both of them liked it, even though at every touch Clark’s heart would skip a beat. Lana knew Clark would end up blaming himself for everything, that’s the kind of person he is, and she liked that.

“I know, I just can’t help but feel responsible, I lo... care about you and I just want to make sure that nothing bad ever happens to you again.” ‘I love Lois! No you don’t you love Lana, and you know it, she’s right there make a move, no, I can’t. I’m getting married tomorrow! If you’re getting married tomorrow then why are you in a hotel room with someone other then Lois?’ “I think we should go talk to Jason again, we both know he wasn’t telling the truth, and...”

“Clark, we have no evidence that he was the one who raped me, even if we did tell the police he did they wouldn’t believe us.” ‘Why does this have to be so difficult, first I have to deal with Jason, and then I’m going to have to deal with Lois.

“Why won’t they believe us?” Clark was really confused, and sometimes he could be a little slow on things.

“Clark, you weren’t even there when it happened, and I had amnesia for six years, and I was supposed to have died in a car accident!” “This guy sure can be slow on things sometimes.’

“But the police know that you didn’t die, because you were in the hospital and they had you registered under the name Lana Lang after you remembered your name.” Clark was trying to be hopeful, but by the look of things, they had no chance of getting Jason in prison.

“The people at the hospital had no idea if my name really was Lana Lang, because it was just something I randomly called out and there’s probably more than one Lana Lang in the world, so therefore the police still think I’m dead.”

“But, that doesn’t mean we can’t go tell them that you’re alive now, and you have proof, you have me!” Clark was proud of himself for being so clever, but Lana burst his bubble just as soon as he blew it up.

“That doesn’t even matter right now Clark! First we need to get Jason in jail. We need a plan.” Lana was hoping that Clark might be able to think of something, because she had no idea whatsoever to get Jason in jail.
(Jason’s apartment)

‘I crave more power, and I want Lana to know that I’m not weak. I want to feel her pain and the softness of her skin, I want hear her screaming for me to stop, but when I don’t stop, I want to see her die.’ These horrible thought ran through Jason’s twisted mind as he quietly dressed himself. But he couldn’t will himself to look in the mirror, he didn’t want to see what he had become, but he did want to see Lana again, she was supposed to die that night, but because she was lucky enough to survive she would just have to die tonight instead.

(The Kent Farm)

Lois was beginning to worry, Clark hadn’t called yet and their wedding was tomorrow. ‘He’s probably busy, he’ll be back soon, he would never try to hurt me like this, not on purpose at least.’ She was a wreck; the man she loves wasn’t with her the day before they were supposed to wed. She was having her bachelorette party that night, but all she could think about was Clark, what was going to happen? ‘Is he going to leave me at the alter? Does he still love Lana?’ The last question stood out amongst the haze that seemed to be taking over her thoughts. ‘Is he really still in love with her, after all these years? Is he with her right now?’
Lois was once again beginning to worry. ‘Clark would never lie to me, just keep telling your self that Lois.’ She stared at the counter of the Kent’s kitchen that had been bombarded with wedding presents from friends and family. She felt sick; she knew something was going on between Lana and Clark, she saw the way they looked at each other. ‘Clark never looks at me like that anymore, actually he never looked at me like he looks at Lana. Maybe we’re not meant to be together, maybe Clark’s destiny has something else in store for him, or should I say someone.

(An inn in Granville)

Lana and Clark had been developing a plan on how to make Jason admit what he’s done to the police, but so far, they’ve gotten nowhere. Clark decided they should take a break from the madness and he would go get some food for them and bring it back to the inn. Lana agreed that was the best thing to do before it got too late. Clark still hadn’t figured out what he would do about the wedding, but he was hoping Lois would chicken out, he would have to leave in the morning to get to the wedding on time since it was at 4:00 the next day and it was already seven o’ clock pm right now. Clark walked slowly down the stairs, taking deep breaths of air, and then he walked patiently down the sidewalk staring at cracks in the path.

Lana had been staring out the window as Clark disappeared into the distance, as long as she could see him she felt safe, but as he slowly disappeared her feelings of being afraid took over. She quickly went to the bathroom so she could take a quick shower before Clark got back so she would look nice for him. Earlier that day they had decided they wouldn’t go see Jason again, they had devoted the day to figuring out a plan to throw him in jail instead. As Lana let the warm water trickle through her hair she heard the doorbell to the room ring and she hurriedly threw on some pants and a shirt and scurried over towards the door thinking that it was probably Clark back with their food. “Clark! You’re back all ready?” No one answered so Lana figured he was trying to keep all the food from falling and he didn’t hear her. There was another quick rap on the door and she quickly unlocked the door to let “Clark” in.

(Jason’s POV)

I rang the doorbell hoping that Lana would think I was room service or something like that, and then I heard he call me Clark. ‘She probably thinks I’m her knight in shining armor that came to save the day or some kind of crap like that.’ I didn’t answer but I knocked hoping she would open the door so I could have her already. I heard the door lock click and I pushed the door open, letting her see that Clark wasn’t standing in her doorway, but me, the man who wouldn’t let her escape, not this time.

(Lana’s POV)

The door slowly swung open, but Clark wasn’t standing in front of me, it was Jason, his weaseled face pointed in my direction. He walked towards me, and with every step he took I took a step back. I was too afraid to say any thing, it was like my vocal chords had been frozen and if I tried to make a sound they would break apart. ‘I’m going to die, I know it, and I’m going to die.’ The fear coursed through her body like her own blood, she felt herself violently shaking and she didn’t know what to do about it, her worst nightmare was coming true, again.

(Clark’s POV)

The bags of Chinese food Clark had bought was light in his hands, he had his head up this time and he wondered how Lana was doing, he was still about five blocks away from the inn when he heard screaming, and it was coming from the narrow alley-way to his right. Clark dropped his bags and made his way over to where he heard screaming, it sounded like it was coming from behind the decaying garbage on the side of the alley. He quickly scanned the area with his x-ray vision and found a woman huddled under the garbage in rags. He swiftly picked her up and hurried her to the hospital, it looked like she was now unconscious, and he knew just by looking at her what had happened. She had been raped.

Okay, that's it for now, but more will come soon, thank you for reading!

Okay, are you ready for the next part? I hope you are cuz' i have it right here. Enjoy!

(An inn in Granville)

“Hi Lana.” Lana caught a whiff of Jason’s breath, and it smelled of alchol. Whenever he moved in just the slightest way she was able to spot a silver gun that she guessed was supposed to be hidden in his pocket.

“Jason?” She could barely force the word out of her mouth; the steps she had been taking earlier had come to a stop. There was no more room to run, all she could do was stand there and hope that nothing would happen. But the fear gripped her soul like the wind carries a leaf. ‘I need Clark, where is he?’

“You’re boyfriend can’t save you now, and why would you ever want him when you could have me?” His malodorous breath sank into her skin making it give off a foul stench.

“Jason, I don’t think you should be here, maybe you should leave?” Lana tries to step around him, but before she gets all the way around he forcefully grabs her arm and turns her to face him.

“I know you want me, all you have to do is leave Clark. But if that’s not the case, I can always make some other arrangements.” He hurriedly pulled out his gun, planning to show Lana the consequence for disobeying him.

“Look, I’m sorry you’re upset, or whatever you are, but I’m not interested in you, and I really wasn’t planning on being shot tonight.” ‘Where is Clark? I don’t think I can take this guy.’ “Let go of me!” She quickly spun around hoping to catch him off guard and slip out, but he was too strong. His fingers tightedned on her arms tight enough to leave bruises.

“You shouldn’t try to fight me Lana!” He shouted in my face, practically spitting on me.

But instead she quickly bit his hand causing him to let go and swept kicked him. Jason made a small grunting noise as he fell to the ground and cracked one of his teeth on the hard tile floor. Lana ran for the door but Jason grabbed her leg and pulled her down with him.

“Where did you learn to fight like that Lana?” Lana panted heavily on the ground, when she fell she landed on her ankle and she was having trouble getting back up. Jason slowly crawled his way over to her and began grinding his body on hers.

Tears streamed down her face, no one was here to help her, and there was nothing she could do to stop him. “Clark!” He was her last chance; she needed him now more then ever.

(The hospital)

Nurses rushed forward to help Clark with the woman he had just found, she was barely breathing, and every breath she took sounded like her last. As he looked into her face he could see the fear, the anguish, and the guilt. ‘Lana...’ He forgot to call Lana to tell her what had happened and that he would be late. He walked over to the phone in step with the tapping of the nurse’s fingers on her desk.

(An inn in Granville)

“You like that Lana?” Jason said with a smirk on his face.

“No!” She spat at him right in his eyes, and then she swung her arm at his face and her elbow caught him in the back of the head. The phone began to ring and all Lana could think of was Clark.

“Clark!” She lunged for the phone but it was out of her reach, the ringing faded and the hope that grew in the pit of her stomach flickered and then died.

“No one can save you and you know it, now where were we? Oh yeah...” Hw forced himself between her legs and began to lower his head so he would stick his tongue down her throat.

“Stop it!” Lana moved her head frantically back and forth dodging Jason’s mouth, not allowing him to kiss her.

Jason’s impatience grew, slap! “I want you to stay still!” slap!

(The hospital)

Clark drummed his fingers on the side of the phone booth like the nurse had done earlier. The ringing had stopped and Lana had not answered. ‘Why didn’t she answer? Is she still in the shower?’ He checked his watch and noticed it had been over an hour since he left. ‘She still can’t be in the shower; maybe I should wait a few minutes before I leave? No, somethings wrong and I have to go.

(An inn in Granville)

Lana felt a burning sensation on her cheek after Jason had slapped her, she knew he wasn’t playing, and she knew he would kill her if she didn’t follow his orders. She stopped moving out of fear of being slapped again, or worse killed. Jason kissed her lips insanely, he tried to force his tongue down her throat but she closed off her mouth so he could not stick his tongue through. Slap! “Kiss me!” After the first few slaps that he gave Lana he quickly realized that hitting her was the easiest way to make her do something. After she opened up he stuck his tongue deep into her throat, while her stomach began to tie itself in knots.

“Thank you.” Jason’s kisses rapidly became stronger, and with each kiss he tasted the morose saltiness of her tears. “Are you not having fun Lana? Maybe this will cheer you up.” Jason had been eyeing her shirt, and then began to tear it open leaving it in shreds, Lana tried to force her tears back, but the more he forced her to do things the more aggravated she became, and her tears spilled out and mixed mith the small pools of blood. After he opened the shirt he was able to kis her bare neck and work his way down to her navel.

Through her tears she called out Clark’s name again, but she knew he couldn’t hear her, no one could. She tensed as Jason picked his gun off the cold floor,
“Do you know how long I’ve been waiting for this? Six years ago I could’ve killed you, but I didn’t. Do you know why?” Jason had gotten up off of Lana but hurriedly pushed her over to the bed and forced her to sit down.
Lana didn’t respond, she just sat on the bed and cried.

“Answer me!” This time the slap he gave her contained the gun also, and she could feel the cold hard metal against her damp skin.

“I don’t know, why didn’t you kill me?” Lana answered him in a monotone voice, she was scared and he knew it, she didn’t want to give herself away anymore then she already had.

Pleased with her answer Jason continued.” I didn’t kill you because you were my favorite, I’ll admit that. But I didn’t want you to go around telling people what I did to you so I just made sure that you wouldn’t spill your guts.”
Now Lana was really interested, he was going to tell her how he managed to give her amnesia and stage her death.
“How did you do it?”

“I guess I can tell you, I mean I’m going to kill you anyways. First I contacted some of my friends and told them that I wanted to make it look like you died in a car accident, and I have some friends at the police station that made it look like you were the one in the accident. Brilliant huh?” Jason was pleased with himself, Lana could tell. “And to make you have amnesia was the difficult part, well it should’ve been the difficult part, but I had friends over at the hospital also, and they were able to get the drugs that I fed into you’re system. I knew it wouldn’t last forever but by the time you remembered I figured I’d be long gone, but I had a few things that came up, and that’s why you were able to find me.” A grim smile took over Jason’s face again as he sauntered torwards the bed, gun in hand. “Let me tell you a secret.” He said as he sat on the bed by me. “By the end of the night you’ll be raped and murdered.”

The phone rang again, but there was no hope of her answering it when she remembered the gun at her head.

(The hospital)

Clark had decided to call again hoping that she would pick up. ‘Pick up the phone Lana, come on.’ The phone’s ringing dies down again, and she hadn’t picked up

“Excuse me sir, can you move please? I need to make a call.”

“I’m sorry, of course you can.”
Clark let the little boy that was standing behind him pass. He was worried about Lana, and he had to go check on her.

(An inn in Granville)

The ringing subsided, and all hope of her surviving this ordeal slipped away.

“Kiss me!” Jason bellowed, but instead she shook her head at him, if she was going to die then she wanted to put up a fight. “NO?!” He was furious, no women had ever said no to him, he savagely puched her in the face and her stomach, causing her to puke. She shook in pain and every time she called out she felt herself swallowing her own blood.

“Clark!” Jason was mad with anguish; he snaked his way down her chest to her pants where he began to unzip them.

Clark sped down the narrow streets of Granville, something was wrong and he needed to fix it.

-----------
Clark sped down the narrow streets of Granville, something was wrong and he needed to fix it. He quickened his pace as he entered the hotel doors ambling through the small crowds that lingered in the hallways and then he made his way to the doors of his room. He knew something was wrong when he didn’t hear the shower going, he had hoped Lana had been in the shower when he called.

“Lana? Lana... are you in here?” Clark heard what sounded like a sob comeing from the bedroom and he sped to the door and lobbed it past his head completely taking it off its hinges. His heart skipped a beat when he found Lana, her hair stuck out in odd places and her face was a canvas of blood and her body was home to many awful bruises. And to top it all off Jason sat next to her, holding a gun to her head. Clark’s eyes burned with anger and hate, he felt like he wanted to slit his foul neck.

“Clark... no! He has a gun!” Clark had begun walking torwards the deranged pervert until Lana called out for him to stop. Her eyes were pleading, begging him not to get hurt.

“Shut up *****!” Jason sharply smacked Lana upside the head with the butt of his gun, only making Clark become even more convulsed then before.

“Hey Kent! How’s it goin’? I’m doin’ fine, I just wanted to stop by and pay Lana a visit. It’s been so long and I thought we needed to catch up.” His face gave way to a cocky grin as Jason began to drift slowly from the bed towards Clark with the gun still glued to his hand.

Lana watched in complete terror as Jason brought the gun slowly towards Clark’s head, and she was completely helpless.

“So who wants to go first? Do you Clark want to watch Lana die or do you Lana want to watch Clark die? See, I’m the lucky one who gets to watch both of you die, but being the gentleman that I am I’ll let the pretty lady watch her boyfriend fall to his death, that is before I kill her of course.” As Jason spoke he shook his gun around a lott, and pointed it towards random places, just enjoying the hate being channeled at him.

Clark knew he could easily take the gun from Jason but he didn’t want Lana to see him using his abilities. So he shrank back into the shadows, but if Lana was shot at Clark knew he would have to step forward and reveal himself to save her.

“Jason, please don’t hurt Clark, you can kill me but just don’t hurt him.” Lana was scared, she had no idea what would happen to her, but as long as Clark was afe she would be fine, the world needed him more then her self.

“You know what? I’m sick of your whining!” Jason aimed the gun at Lana but before he could shoot Clark vaulted himself ontop of Jason and knocked him to the floor.

“Run Lana!” Jason was now trying to grapple his way out from under Clark’s death grip while Lana ran to the next room to call the police. Lana frantically made her way off the bed as fast as she could, but the blows Jason had delivered earlier were not helping, and she made her way to the phone that hung over the end table in the kitchen and immediately dialed in the 911 number that had been so thoroughly taught to her through her time in elementary school.

--------------------

“Get off me!” Clark had his hand strapped around Jason’s inferior neck, and he had a plan to strangle him when two shots rang out from the gun and then Clark felt two small bullets richotche off his chest, ‘That tickles!’

After Lana called the police she rushed to the doorway where Jason and Clark were in complete dissaray on the cold ground. And that’s when she heard two shots come from the gun and from what she saw Clark had been shot. “No! Clark!” Tears thrust themselves out from behind closed lids while a heartbroken woman fell to the ground on her knees. Anger infiltrated her body when she heard Jason’s bleak laughter echoing inside these small four walls. ‘Why? Why did this happen to Clark.... I love him.’

Clark was against his self when he decided to play dead, he heard Lana scream when he had been shot and it really was killing him to hear her cry, all he really has caused is pain and suffering. He wanted to jump up and tell her that he was fine so much, but he knew he couldn’t, but he wiuld never let anything happen to her.

“Come on Lana, now that Clark’s dead we can have a little fun.” A glint of corruption shimmered in his joyless eyes there was no sign of warmpth or love, only hate could be perturbed from those two rotund balls of ice attachted to his head.

“I’m not going to let you, and you couldn’t if you wanted to. The police will be here any minute.” Jason was furious at Lana for ruining his plan, but it could be fixed. All he had to do was leave the hotel with Lana and get a room at a different hotel.

“Come on!” Jason shoved Lana towards the door when he heard something stir in the bedroom.

----------------

Clark thought he heard Lana and Jason leave the hotel room because he hadn’t heard any voices for a while now. He cautiously opened his eyes, and when he saw no one he sluggishly got up from his supposed grave and quietly walked towards the door.

-----------------

“Did you hear that?” Jason asked thinking he heard something move in the bedroom.

“Hear what?” Lana was lying, of course she heard something, and when she did she felt her heart soar.

“Just wait a minute, I think we should hide. Hurry get back there.” Jason motioned towards the counter and when you have a gun to your head you tend to do what the person asks you to do. Both Lana and Jason crouched behind the counter waiting for something to happen, and finally Clark walked out of the bedroom. Not even covereed with a single drop of blood.

“What the...?” Jason was dazed. He had seen Clark fall to the ground when those bullets hit him. How could it be that he’s still alive? Lana wondered the same thing, but in the back of her mind she knew she should’ve been expecting something like this, but she didn’t exactly know why.

Jason traipsed reluctantly from behind the counter to a few feet from where Clark stood who looked like a deer caught in some headlights. “How did you....? What are you?”

‘This is my chance’ Clark thought, ‘even though Lana now knows what I can do, hmm... maybe instead of killing Jason I can ask him to get me some of those drugs that he gave Lana before so I can make her forget again, don’t be silly Clark just hit her over the head with a frying pan. It always works in cartoons. No Clark just try and save her. Slowly Clark inched his way to Jason and lunged for the gun, but Jason pulled up and shot Clark again, straight in the heart.

“Clark!” Not again! But why isn’t he bleeding, he didn’t even flinch; her eyes display questions that I don’t want to answer and disbelief that I thought was very reasonable. I took a concentrated look at her face to see if she feared me, and it was full of confusion anddoubt, but behind her hazel eyes lay love. Her body was covered in bruises and that was Jason’s fault, he must be punished.

Clark took a step towards Jason after he looked away from Lana. “You did that to her.” I said as I pointed to Lana “You don’t deserve to live!” Before he could react I had him pushed up against the wall and I was holding him by his neck. The gun fell when he collided with the wall and skidded across the floor towards Lana who picked it up and crawled out from behind the counter. “You hurt her!” I said as I slammed him up against another wall. “You’ve caused her nothing but anguish!” I dropped him to the floor and kicked him until he vomited. I looked over at Lana who was watching the whole thing; she didn’t need to see this. “Lana get out of here, go in the bedroom, please.” Lana reluctantly obeyed, but one thing Clark had failed to notice was that she had been holding the gun.

(Lana’s POV)

Clark had just gotten shot, but he hadn’t even moved. All he had done was brush off the bullet. I had pinned Clark for a strong guy but I never imagined him to be impenatrable. He asked me to go into the bedroom so I wouldn’t have to see what he would do to Jason, but what he didn’t understand was that this is my fight. I’m the one who needs to finish Jason off.

` (End of POV)

I hope there weren't too many spelling mistakes in there, and I hope you tune in to see what happens in the next update.

Okay I have the update! *Walks over to angry mob and throws the computer with update in it at them*

Everytime Lana heard Jason cry out in pain a distinct smile spread across her bloodstained face. She looked down at the silver gun, ‘Clark shouldn’t be the one fighting Jaosn, I should. This is my fight and I’m not prepared to lose it.’ Lana carefully descended the bed and made her way to the door into the kitchen area where she opened it and crept inside. She was unnoticed by both Clark and Jason until she spoke.

“CLARK! STOP!” Lana shouted. Clark dropped Jason who now had a severe bloody lip and a broken nose.

“I thought I told you to stay in the bedroom?!” Clark was abashed as to why Lana wanted him to stop hurting Jaosn after all that he put her through.

“This is my fight and I want to be the one to finish it!” Lana revealed the gun that was hidden behind her back and aimed it at Jason who squirmed nervously beneath her gaze. And a gun being pointed at him didn’t help either.

“I’m not going to let you kill him!” He cried out, he could hear sirens closing in on their whereabouts.

“WHY NOT!?” Lana rested her finger gently on the hard trigger working up her courage to pull on it.

“Because you’re not a killer! You won’t be able to live with yourself if you kill him. The police are on their way you should just let them handle it."

Jason moved slowly towards Clark with a knife that he grabbed from the kitchen counter, and he raised it high above his head ready to lodge it into Clark’s neck. Lana’s eyes widened and her hands began to tremble. “CLARK! WATCH OUT!” She closed her eyes and pulled the trigger, one shot echoed through the room. A shot thrust itself through Jason’s shoulder and then another shot could be heard and it plunged through his heart. The knife fell from his hand and Jaosn’s limp body fell to the floor. Behind him stood a man in a uniform holding a gun. He was with the police and he had made it just in time.

After the police arrived swarmed the hotel and Jason’s body had been carted away Lana and Clark sat outside after they had given their statements to the police about what had happened. And Clark also told the police that Jason had also raped the woman he found earlier that night. Lana had been silent most of the time they were being questioned, but she did tell them what Jaosn had done to her years earlier and what had happened when Jaosn came to the hotel. But after that Clark re-told the story. He could tell Lana was seriously shaken up about the whole ordeal, but Clark wasn’t sure what to say to her. She had seen him use his powers and he was sure she wouldn’t want to speak to him again after that. But he decided that if she already knew part of the story he should be fair and tell her the rest. He took this time of silence to begin his explanation, but before he could begin Lana interrupted him.

“I should have killed him.”

Clark was stunned by this accusation.
“Why did you say that?”

“That police officer shouldn’t have been the one to kill him, I should’ve. He put me through so much pain, but I was being a coward and purposely misfired.
Why couldn’t I do it? Why?” She choked on her words and her red eyes began to fill with tears again.

“Because you are not a murderer, and you knew you wouldn’t be able to live with yourself if you killed him.” He was sincere in his words; he knew Lana was not the type of person to kill someone. Even if she didn’t know that at the time, but Clark knew her better than anyone.

“But you aren’t a murderer either, but you were willing to kill him. Why?” From what she now knew about Clark she knew he would never purposely kill anyone.

“Because, I... because I lo... I just didn’t want to see you get hurt.” ‘Nice save there Kent.’

“Right...” She desperately wanted to hear him say that he loved her, but because he was with Lois she knew that would never happen.... LOIS!

“Clark! We need to leave!”

“Why?” Why was Lana in such a hurry?

“Your wedding!”

“Oh... oh no! Let’s go!” Before they left both Lana and Clark checked to see if the police needed anything else, but after they said no they hopped in the truck and sped down the dark road to Smallville.

“Lana... I think we need to talk.” Clark said this as Lana watched the immobile trees rush past the red truck.

Lana turned her head to face Clark who looked as if he was about to vomit.

“Clark, if this is about what I saw tonight we don’t need to talk about it.” She felt sorry for him as he squirmed in his seat.

“But I need to tell you, you need to know. I’ve always wanted to tell you, but I’ve always been too afraid. Afraid that you might reject me or that you might end up getting hurt. And I never want that to happen” He had to admit that he was surprised Lana didn’t beg him to tell her the truth, but it was a breath of fresh air that he didn’t have to rush to tell her.

“I really don’t want you to tell me, and I promise I’ll keep what I saw tonight a secret, and I think it would be good for both of us to just take a break from eachother.” Clark pulled into the Inn’s driveway as Lana was telling him all of this. He tried to put on a brave face but she was hurting him, and he was afraid that what he had always predicted to happen was coming true. “I want you to tell Lois congratulations but I won’t be able to come to your wedding today. I’m going to go back to Metropolis, I’ve already gotten back all of the memories I need, I had hoped to recover more but I don’t think I should. It was nice of you to help me out Clark and tell Chloe goodbye for me also. Thank you Clark.” She turned to the car door and opened it to let herself out, and she bean to walk towards the hotel door without looking back. She hesitated before she entered the room but did it none the less, and then the door shut, she turned her back on the only person she had allowed herself to love.

Clark sat in his truck, and remained silent after Lana had left. He could hear her sobs coming from the other side of her door and he cursed himself for letting that happen again. He inserted his key into the ignition and the slowly traced his way back to the farm. The same farm his bride to be was staying at. When he finally got to the house, he couldn’t officially call it home when his heart was living somewhere else, he creeped up the stairs and walked into his bedroom trying not to wake Lois. He too off his shirt and pants and crawled into his bed with only his boxers on.

Lois lay next to him in a calm state, she looked warm and comfortable. Clark on the other hand was cold, he couldn’t remember the last time he was ever cold he had always been in between hot and cold at the perfect
temperature. But now he was cold he couldn’t feel his heart beat, he was alone.

(A small inn a few blocks from the Talon)

The sun drifted in through the thin curtains hanging limp over the windows. Lana awoke from another nightmare, she had been having them all night, but in the end of each nightmare Clark was always there to save her and everything turned out fine. She began to pack after she took her shower, and she couldn’t help but think that Clark would be getting married to Lois in less then four hours. She was going to stay in Smallville until the bus came at 11:45 which happened to be fifteen minutes before Lois and Clark said their I do’s so she still had another four hours before she left for Metropolis. And since she had nothing better to do she pulled out a small box that she brought along with her to Smallville that she had never opened. She had found the box aong with some of her other possesions that she had brought to the hospital, but she had never found a reason to look inside. She slid the lid off of the tin box and pulled out a few photos and a folded up note. Were these the answers she had been looking for?

I'm sorry it's so short, but I've been having trouble with my inspiration lately. Hopefully the next update will be longer.

Lana gently grasped one of the photos and pulled it out of the box so she could bring it to her eye level. When she saw the picture a small shred of hope worked its way up into her stomach, she and Clark were sitting on his house’s porch with their feet dangling dangerously over the egde. Lana’s head was positioned comfortably in the crook of Clark’s neck and it looked as if they were both genuinely happy, the two shared a small smile that only they knew the meaning of. It was like they lived in their own little world, and everything would always be perfect. She could feel the warmth the two felt then by just looking at the picture. ‘It must’ve been taken during the time Clark and I were a couple.’ Lana searched the photo for any evidence that it was from high school and finally discovered a date on the back in what seemed to be Clark’s neat scrawl. It was form their sophomore year of high school, ‘Is that all the happiness I’ll be allowed to have?’ Lately all Lana’s thoughts had either been about Clark and how he’s getting married or how Clark ruined her life.

After she set down the menacing photo, well at least it was menacing to her, she reached in and worked her fingers around another picture's ridges so she could get a firm hold of it and bring it out. This photo was slightly smaller then the last but at first glance she already knew it held more meaning. This picture had both Lana and Clark sitting on a checkered picnic blanket and they were sharing a passionate kiss. It looked as if Lana had held out her arm and taken a snapshot of that moment by herself. She had never seen two people share as much passion as the younger Lana and Clark; you could feel it radiating from the depths of the photo. It pained her to look at the picture because it rememinded her of what she lost so long ago.

(Flashback)

Outside of Metropolis International Airport Lana steps onto the cold sidewalk outside the airport with her bags. She passes a couple kissing passionately and looks away unhappily; she doesn’t want to be reminded of what could’ve been. She keeps walking along the sidewalk her heels muffled by the numb sounds of traffic and travelers. She passes Lex without even noticing him until he touches her arm and she turns around.

Lana: Lex.

Lex: I just wanted to say bon voyage.

Lana drops her bags down at her feet.

Lana: Shouldn't you be at the courthouse?

Lex: My father can wait. Lana, I couldn't let the last person you saw from Smallville be the shuttle driver looking for his tip.

Lana: Lex, um, I can't thank you enough for everything that you've done for me.

Lex: It's pretty clear your destiny lies far beyond the Smallville city limits. I'm just trying to help you get there.

Lana: I don't know what I did to deserve such a great friend, but I'm glad that you came into my life.

Lex: Maybe I'll bump into you on the Champs-Elysees.

Lana: You're gonna be in Paris?

Lex: I haven't been in a couple of years, but now I have a reason to go.

Lana smiles and hugs Lex tightly.
Across ths busy street Clark stood tall and stuck out like a sore thumb in his red jacket amongst the black coats. He clutched a white rose in his immense hand and was obviously there to say goodbye to Lana. Lex was already there and Clark watched their embrace, and saw that Lana wasn’t unhappy he changed his mind about coming to this forsaken ground. He let the rose drop carelessly to ground, it glided slowly down on the soft puffs of air and then it finally met with the hard pavement.

He watched Lana and Lex finish up their goodbyes, and then Lex walked away back towards the Metropolis Courthouse where he would watch his father be condemned to prison. Lana bent down to pick up her bags, and then she glanced across the busy street and catches a glimpse of Clark standing there with his face contorted into a look of grim sadness.

Lana ran across the street to where Clark was standing, and just before she got to the other side, a large shuttle bus drives by, blocking Clark from her view. When the bus was gone, Clark had dissapeard. Lana finished crossing the street and looked around for Clark.

All that she found was the white rose lying motionless on the ground. She bent over and picked it up, looking at it sadly.

(End of flashback)

She looked down at the crumpled letter inside the box, and she picked it up and carefully unfolded it so she wouldn’t rip it. She began to read the letter to herself and grew teary with every word.

Dear Lana,

By the time you get this letter you’ll probably be packing your things so you’ll be ready to move to Metropolis with Jason. And you might not even read this because I know that you’re mad at me. But if you are reading this I just wanted to let you know that I think I’m ready to tell you my secret. I’ve been thinking a lot about this and it just seems like the right thing to do.

You’ve always been there for me and always will be even when you’re not around. We’ve been through a lot of crazy things in our highschool careers, meteor freaks, separate personalities, and the angst between you and me has always been a factor also. I know that you will be the right person to share my secret with; it just doesn’t feel right without you knowing. But I’m also afraid that you might get hurt because of it, and I don’t want that to happen.

Please come to the loft sometime between now and the time you leave for Metropolis, I would really appreciate it. But if you don’t I’ll understand, I can handle dissapointment.

Your friend,

Clark kent

The note was laden with tears, some had been Clark’s tears, and she knew this because the ink was blotchy in those parts, but her own tears riddled the paper also. She came back to reality and dropped the note; memories seemed to be bombarding her from every angle, she dropped onto her unmade bed and crawled into a crouched position, as if she was trying to hide from the memories.

...Her parents death... meeting Clark for the first time when she was five... her first year of highschool... her first real conversation with Clark...falling over a bridge as her childhood friend pushed her in and being saved by Clark... being swept up in a tornado and Clark saving her... Chloe getting excited over a story... a picnic under an oak tree... watching Clark ride off on a motorcycle... all the times Clark came to her rescue... meeting Jason and becoming Isobel... the prom... and the kiss she and Clark shared when she handed him the stone...

The memories stopped there and she she sat frozen to her spot on the bed. “I remember...” She whispered slowly to herself making sure that it was real. “I remember!” She shouted this time and began to do a happy dance. But then she remembered the wedding, and there was no way Clark was going to say no to Lois.

(Kent Farm)

Clark stood upright in his loft fixing his bow tie and gazing out the loft’s window at the Metropolis skyline.

(Flashback)

Clark drops his hands from in front of Lana’s eyes and she looks out from atop an old windmill.

Clark: Okay. Open your eyes. It's Metropolis.

Lana: It's beautiful. I can't believe we're up here.

Clark: It's actually getting down which is going to be the interesting part. It's good to have you back, Lana.

Lana: I spent the entire day apologizing to the Talon staff and to Lex and to Whitney. I just wish I could remember what happened. Sounds like I got a little out of control there.

Clark: You spoke your mind and you did what you wanted. Kind of like an alpha Lana.

Lana: I couldn't believe what I was wearing.

Clark: I kinda liked it.

Lana: Clark, I didn't say or do anything embarrassing to you that I should know about, did I?

Clark: No.

Lana: Good, good. So how does it feel being on top of the world? Or at least Smallville.

Clark: I feel free.

(End of flashback)

‘Why am I thinking about Lana when I’m about to get married to Lois?’

I was bored so I decided to write some more today, here you go!

Clark glanced casually at the decrepit alarm clock resting in an eternal slumber on Clark’s desk. The electronic clock vibrantly shone 8:45 am, three hours and fifteen minutes remaining until complete and utter chaos reined his shell of a life. Clark swiftly walked over to his full-sized mirror to get a better look at himself, he wore a black tuxedo and a cream colored shirt was tucked beneath the jacket. He definitely would’ve wanted to wear plaid instead of the designer suit but with Lois being Lois she demanded that he wear what she said for him to wear.

His face became flushed as a piercing gust of wind penetrated his suit and enveloped his body sending an involuntary shudder down his spine. He calmly looked out over the fields of corn and other crops obstructing his view of Lana’s old house. ‘She’s always been the girl next door, and then she grew into the women that I knew I could settle down with. All of that’s changed now, but is it really for the better? I feel as if something is missing from my life and I won’t be able to acquire it without the one person who means the world to me.’ As Clark sat pondering his troubled thoughts Lois was being showered in compliments of how beautiful she looks and how she’s been so blessed.

(The Kent’s kitchen)

“Thank you Mrs. Kent that really means a lot to me.” Lois had a cheerful smile plastered to her matching cheerful face.

“Of course Lois, it’s not everyday that my son gets married, at least I hope not.” Martha forced out a fake laugh, but the now crazed Lois had been oblivious to it.

Chloe sat in the corner of the Kent kitchen scowling at Lois. Of course she loved her cousin but something wasn’t right about Clark marrying Lois, there wasn’t any chemistry between the two, and Chloe being the inquisitive reporter that she is had sensed that upon their first meeting. All that there was seemed to be sarcasm and fondness nothing special, and Chloe was upset that Clark would just settle for Lois. Her eyebrows furrowed and knitted together where they met down by the bridge of her nose when the oh-so-chipper remarks continued to fly between the two women before her.

Chloe knew that Clark’s future lie far beyond Smallville’s city limits, and Lois was not the person that could help Clark fufill his destiny. The person who would be able to do that was going to be leaving on a bus to Metropolis in a few hours while Clark and Lois set themselves up for one hell of a marriage.

“Chloe stop being so up-beat this morning you’re getting everyone too excited.” Martha had pointed out Chloe sulking in the corner and Lois couldn’t help herself from flaunting her well excercised sarcasm.

“Very funny Lois, and I’m sorry I’m not as excited as you are right now, but I’m a little tired, so I think I’ll just be going.” Chloe faked a yawn and made her way out towards the loft where Clark was wound up in his distressed emotions.

(The Loft)

Clark’s attention turned to the stairs as they creaked ever so softly hoping that Lana had come to top him from going through with the wedding. But instead of Lana Chloe came smoothly up the stairs and into his fortress of solitude.

“Hey Clark.” She said barely above a whisper, but she knew that he would be able to hear her no matter how softly she spoke.

“Hi Chloe, what are you doing up here? I thought you’d be hanging out with Pete or my mom and Lois.” Clark’s curiosity peaked as Chloe sank into the couch on the other side of the loft, and parted with a light sigh.

“Is everything okay?” Clark moved promptly over to the couch and took a seat next to his long-time friend.

“I’m fine Clark, but I just wanted to ask you a question that’s been plaguing me for a while.” She craned her head towards Clark and stared him in the eyes straight on. This made her feel slightly uncomfortable because Clark’s gaze was so intense, but she was determined to continue. “I know this may seem kind of out there or too personal, but I need to know the truth.”

“Okay, go ahead and ask.” Clark was kind of nervous as to where Chloe was heading with this interrogation of hers, but Chloe would never ask him anything too incriminating.

“Okay here it is Clark, and I want the truth.” Clark nodded his head in agreement with Chloe’s demand. “Are you happy?”

Clark really wasn’t expecting that, his eyes flew open and darted around the loft avoiding eye contact with the woman staring agressively at him.

“What do you mean?” Clark started playing with a loose thread on the couch and he averted his gaze from Chloe’s.

“I mean what I said. Are you happy with Lois or is there something else going on in your heart?” She kept her scrutinizing gaze strong hoping that she could crack Clark.

“Of course I’m happy.” You could hear the guilt in Clark’s wavering voice, and you could also hear the immense gulp attached to it.

“No you’re not I know you, and I know when you’re happy. And you are definitely not very thrilled at the moment.” She felt sorry for him. Lois had made him a puppet for her own needs she didn’t mean him any harm, but she was suffocating him. Suffocating him in a world he knew nothing of a world where he had no choice but to adhere to her whims or risk hurting her. And Clark Kent never wanted to put anyone in any form of pain.

“Be serious Chloe why wouldn’t I be happy?” ‘Why couldn’t you see it earlier? Of course I’m not happy! I’d be happy with Lana, but that’s beside the point. Lois isn’t right for me, and I don’t think I’ll be able to make her happy. I really don’t think I deserve her, but if I don’t deserve her why do I think I deserve Lana?’

“Please Clark just tell me the truth.” She looked at him hopefully, but all he did was look away. Poor guy, he didn’t need this all he needed was the person he truly loved.

Clark was now an expert at avoiding subjects he wasn’t very comfortable talking about and now was the perfect time to perfect his skills. “Don’t you have to go get ready for the wedding? Lois is probably freaking out be now.” Clark contorted his pained expression to one of amusement and got up off the couch and began to walk towards the large and looming window.

“Yeah I should probably get going.” Chloe turned on her heels to leave but before she reached the first step she called to Clark from over her shoulder. “Clark!”

Clark quickly jerked out from his serene state then turned to face a depressed Chloe whose bright eyes shone with wisdom and worry. “Yeah?”

“The Clark I know would never give up on saving someone... even if that someone happened to be you.” On that note Chloe strolled gracefully out of the barn where Clark stood frozen to the spot. It suddenly became clear to him that his destiny was his decision, and that he always had a choice. “Lana...”

(A small inn a few blocks from the
Talon)

Lana had spent all morning reveling in her choked memories and her painful emotions. A single song played repeatedly on her radio the words pained her and each time she became more and more emotionally attached to it. The song grasped her soul and played relentlessly with it toying with every one of her emotions. And she found herself humming it to open air as she remembered a kiss so tender lingering on her lips as if he was still there holding her with his passion. Her thoughts ran wild and her heart beat to the rythym of the wistful song. She could feel his prescence even when he wasn’t there he was guiding her soul to his own where he waited pondering his many troubles. ‘You are my angel without wings Clark Kent.’
