I was just wondering if anyone else has gotten the new NCAA Football 2006 video game. I just came out Tuesday (July 12th) it's pretty sweet and is the best in the series so far. I got if for Xbox and have been playing it nonstop. The Race for the Heisman mode they added this year is pretty cool. I'm just waiting to get a roster download so I'll have the players real names instead of just their positions and numbers as their names and then I'm off to start my dynasty. So has anyone else picked this game up yet?

I LOVE IT! WOOOHOOO! My only problem with it is that it has a sound track I can't I can't stand. They should have stuck to fight songs.

a soundtrack? no fight songs? that sounds kind of dumb. i may just hang on to my 2005 version a little while longer.

Do you have Madden or EA's NBA game? They both have rockish/rap songs. They play on all menu screens. The fight songs are in the actual games, but not the menus.

Yeah the songs suck, but you can turn them off so it's no biggie.

How do you turn them off?
And anyway, the game is worth it. The sucky songs are a small piece of the pie

Go to "MY NCAA" on the main menu. Then to "Settings" on the following menu. Then scroll down to "AUDIO" and if you go to "Menu Music" you can switch it to Fight Songs or if you want to turn the music off altogether just go down to "Menu Music Volume" and put it at 0%.
Anyway, in my Race For The Heisman I've gotten screwed over both my Freshmen and Sophomore years because I finished 2nd place both years in the Heisman voting. If I don't win it my Junior year I'm going to leave early and save my guy and wait for Madden to come out so I can bring him into the pros.

i came 5th my fresh year, 3rd soph, and im leading so far this year. I won the only 2 national champs, and have a 33 game win streak, and am on pace for a 3rd champ. Guess what, its all with Northwestern. By the way, im a Pocket QB.
Anyone know what you do after the 4 years? is it gameover

That's pretty good streak there dude. Yeah I came in 2nd fresh year, 2nd soph year, and leading this year so I hope I win. I'm playing with Notre Dame, went 7-5 fresh year. Undefeated soph year and won the national championship. Still undefeated so far for the 3rd season. Hoping to pick up my 2nd national championship. I'm playing as a scrambler QB. I just need my QB to have speed, I can't stay still.
As to what happens after 4 years, you have the option to go pro after 3 years, so you can do that and safe your guy, then upload him into the new Madden game when it comes out (Aug. 9) and continue his career there in a similiar mode to "Race" called "Superstar Mode". Which like I said is like "Race" just in the pros and you can do all other sorts of stuff like make movies and give interviews, just like a real NFL player. You can always stay for all 4 years and then still save the guy and import him into Madden. I also thought I remember the game saying when I first started out in "Race" that you could continue on as a coach in NCAA after "Race" was over, maybe you get to start a dynasty then because when you do a dynasty you're in the role of a coach then, but I'm not sure about that. Nonetheless I will be getting Madden 06 when it comes out and bringing my guy into the pros.
BTW, here's a good article explaining the "Superstar "Mode" in Madden 06 better: http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/sports/maddennfl2006/preview_6128568.html

my guy won heismen junior year, and we won the champ. I decided to keep him his final year

Yep I finally won the Heismen in my junior year as well and we won the national championship again as well. I kept him the final year also because it's not like Madden 06 is out yet, so there's no point in having him leave early. I also want to get another Heismen and get that 3rd national championship.
BTW Patman, your avator is really funny, just like Rosenbaum.

The Dynasty game I just finished:
#4 10-0 Alabama @ #2 9-0 Auburn
Auburn beat Archrival Bama 34-7 to finish 8-0 in the SEC, winning the West title and a berth in the SEC title game to face 11-0 East Champ Florida. How cool!

So Sharkie if you decide to make your guy a coach after "Race" is over it switches from that mode to "Dynasty" mode? Do you just get offers from several different teams to be the head coach or do you continue on at the school your guy played out?

Sorry to jump in late, Just still in my first year as a walk-on to the DOAK (Florida State) since I did the tryout and only got offered scholoarships to BYU and and Boise State. Anyway I am a RB and I love the way this game is made I have only played against my biggest rival Miami in my first game and then played the Citadel so far. I love the hitstick feature on defense just like Madden, but I also like how you can make better plays with the guy who's on fire or whatever it's called (kinda like playmaker) I'm hoping to go undefeated all year and win the National Champ but I want to play against USC in the end that would be sweet because on last years game(ncaa05) I either played Oklahoma or Miami in the National Champoinship....
SO yeah if you guys need some codes or cheats go to
www.gamefacts.com and get some. I just want the rosters.
Yeah I want to know if after 4 years for the race for Heisman if it lets you go to Dynasty keep your guy as a coach and you can make players again for 4 more years... that be sweet let us know anyone

I'm really behind...I got the game the day it came out but haven't finished my first season yet. I'm first in the Heisman voting so far. BTW what difficulty do you guys play on? I play All-American, I did Heisman for a while and won but it wasn't as much fun.

You switch over to Dynasty and it's kind of like when you get fired or decide to get a new job when offered a contract extension. You can go to any school you wish that matches your coach prestige (dependent on how well you did in the Race.) For example if you had 1 star Coach Presitge, you can only work at the Vandys of the world. If you have five you can pick a five, four, three, 2 or 1 star, whichever you want

Okay, I just finished my Freshman year. I won the Heisman by over 1000 votes, and I led Tennessee to an undefeated season, beating USC in the Rose Bowl.
