View Full Version : Another ship theory

A lot of people have been suggesting that its Brainiac, Zod, etc, but I find this difficult to believe. Why would these fairly powerful beings have been waiting for so long? They owe no allegiance to Clark OR Jor-El, and surely by their evil natures, they would have come to earth sooner and tried to take it over.

Its safe to assume that the ship landed on earth because of the events surrounding the stones - its all too much of a coincidence not to assume that.

However, did it land because the stones were tainted with blood, or because the final stone came into Clark's grasp and the ship 'knew' that the stones were about to be united? If its a kryptonian ship which has been programmed by Jor-El, then it would also have known that at the point of uniting the stones, Clark would have been transported to the arctic (or wherever it was he went!).

My theory is that when the doors open on the ship and Lana looks inside, she sees .................................................. ............
.................. Clark.

Yep, a carbon copy of Clark, right down to the last detail.

My reasoning for this is that Clark is thousands of miles away and is about to witness the creation of the FOS, which apparently houses the secrets and knowledge of the Universe. Its safe to assume that he won't witness the creation AND learn all this knowledge in a couple of hours - in fact, we have no way of knowing if he will be gone for days, months or even years. How else would his disappearance be explained to everyone back in Smallville?

Its not a watertight theory but what does anyone else think?

they could say he has been at college to side the people asking where he is. the weird thing about thes ship is (i think) the ship was in the shape of the "s" shield the same as the ston, so could this be the fortress in itself? and in the ship could be lanas parents, as the previous meteor shower killed them.

just a theory! go for the impossible!lol i think it might be the phantom zone to take lana away cos she put blood on the stone and clark can free her and would have to tell her

Hey Gaz, nice idea.

One problem I have with that though, is Jor-El has never really been concerned with explaining Clark's disappearances before - I.e. when he was trapped in the "phantom zone" for a few months before...

I'd imagine Jor-El see's "explanations" for things like that, trivial - and unneccessary to "mere mortals" like the people on Smallville.

The "Another Clark" theory is an decent one, but I highly doubt that's what it is. I agree that Jor El has never really been concerned with Clark's perception by others, I don't think he cares that Clark will be absent from home enough to try and cover it up.

The way I read the events of commencement (and the season) were as follows:

Jor El awoke Kal El for two main reasons, to search out the stones so that he could learn more about himself and his people and also so that he could prevent the stones from being found by the humans. The stones were never meant for the humans as Jor El stated, that's why whenever they encountered human skin they gave off a sound that only Kryptonians could hear. When tainted with blood, the stones assumed Clark had failed in retrieving them and that the Humans had begun killing each other to get at them. Therefore, the stones communicated with the only other person that could bear the responsibility of obtaining the knowledge, and they are in the ship. I think the ship was encased within the asteroid, and by blood touching the stone, it was freed as a last resort. The humans will destroy themselves with the knowledge so I think the "desperate times, desperate measures" act was instigated.

Jor El warned Clark there'd be consequences for not intervening and you can almost guarantee that whoever or whatever is in the ship is evil.

efilflah, that is basically what I believe as well. While it would be pretty interesting to see Lana's reaction to copyClark coming out of a spaceship, I find it unlikely for the reason everyone has mentioned, JorEl doesn't care about what people think.

efilflah, I like your theory. Up until the "only other person who can bear the responsibility......". Then no name! Who's in there!

I HIGHLY doubt it will be Braniac, Doomsday, Eradicator, Zod....etc, etc, like a million people seem to think. I can't understand why everyone's so eager to have these villains in the show (since Season 2) - there's no way Smallville would benifit from it.

Why does it have to be a someone at all? I personally wouldn't mind seeing some blue, red and yellow cloth in there. I just can't construct a theory as to why that would be.

:rotfl: Yeah, I did that on purpose because I genuinely don't have much of an idea as to who/what is in the ship.

Since I'm only a Smallville fan and not a Superman fan, I don't feel I'm knowledgeable enough to form a decent conclusion. Having seen the Superman movies (which, let's face it, weren't great) I only know of Zod and Lex, anything else would be a welcome surprise just as long as it's done well.
