what is up with lana and lex now

So what exactly is going on with Lana and lex now? Did he just say that to try to get the stone or did he mean it?

What I can see happening next season is Clark and Lana becoming an item and Lex becoming jealous and angry, which will end up pushing him further towards his darker side.

I think Lex possibly sees Lana as not only an attractive female/Suitable partner, but also perhaps a link to his good nature, a reason to carry on being good. Over the 4 seasons Lex has always been at odds with his evil nature, whilst genuinely wanting to be a good person. At first he used Clark and his parents as an example to follow, but I think the more suspicious he grew of Clark, and the more their relationship was tested, he began to look elsewhere (Lionel, Helen), only to be met with distrust, subterfuge and manipulation. Naturally he would latch onto the one thing he knew hadn't been tainted and that was his relationship with Lana. At first she was just a friend, but the more his other relationships detiorated, the more she seemed like the one truly good constant in his life and I don't think he wants to let that go.

I think the end of this season shows that Lex has reached his darkest level yet, so much so that he has begun to take what he wants. The fact that he can't have Lana, will probably drive him to do some of his most evil things yet, and I can't wait to see that.

Or at least that's a possibilty...;)

Well from Lana's POV, the only thing up is that she has seemingly lost all trust in Lex, after she saw how he was using her. Lana obviously has no romantic interest in Lex at all, and I really don't think Lex has feelings for anybody but himself when it comes right down to it.

The only one Lana trusts now is Clark. Lex is definitely in the doghouse for partly trying to use her, no matter how sincere he was.

Yeah, Lana is a poor girl no matter which guy she meets he always seems to be using her, minus clark. But then Clark wont be completely honest with her and that seems to drive her nuts. Now I wouldnt be suprised if she hides from Lex, even though he may be her only safety line from going to jail for Murder.
