This is my theory on how things will transition from Commencement in season 4 to the start season 5.

I have noticed that everything to do with Jor-El is a test for Clark and in the ep where Jor-El comes to earth he mentions that his father sent him there to see what it is like to live with limitations of technology and to become a better man. Well what if everything leading up to this point is where Clark decides to become the savior or conqueror.

What I mean by that is that what if everything else thus far was for him to see or experience the bad choices (ep with red kryptonite) or for him to be bulled / lead to believe by the vail of uncertainty he was meant to only destroy (ep where Clark sees the msg from Doc Swan) and that Clarks finale test to reach man hood is in that capsule that came from the asteroid belt.

This is where he has the decision to be evil and be destroyed by the very monster he hates by Jor-El or to be some one better, be a force for good and gain the knowledge of the universe from the crystal along with Jor-El’s respect. I kind of got this idea from them Indian spirit walk the way the progress into man hood not just in body but in mind.

That sounds good to me. If you watch the Season 3 premiere again you can hear, in the talk between Jor El and Johnathan Kent, that Jor El said this was just a test. And I believe he's said it after as well that things were tests for Kal to see if he would be ready for his destiny, whether it be good or bad.
