Here are some of my thoughts on what we really know at the end of this episode and how it can help predict the next season
1. The meteors and ship were aiming for Lana specifically. She spilt the blood, so whatever is in the ship is going to deal with her first.
2. Its not going to be some big bad alien supervillian. It would attract the attention of the world. This would affect the rest of the entire series. Once the world knows there are aliens and alien technologies, how could the show ever focus on anything else. Just think about how the world would react to that type of news. This would cause too much stress on the show. THe writers need the ability to keep Smallville small. Its got to be more subtle and hidden.
3. Perhaps Lana will wind up hiding the ship it came in on, much like the Kents hid Clark's ship. This would give Lana special information and create additional friction with Clark. Lana would now be harbouring alien secrets much like Clark and even Chloe. More awkward moments between those three and more opportunities for Clana.
4. Smallville is now empty. Nice to have an empty town to do some plot work out in the open.
5. The antarctic is also pretty barren. Another good location for some battles.
6. I do not believe Zod is in the ship. It makes no sense that Jor-El or the Kryptonians would tie the release of their greatest criminal to a human using a kryptonian artifact as a murder weapon. He is neither protector nor executioner. Zod is only out for Zod.
7. The tatoo disappeared from Lana's back, so the witch plotline is gone.
Well, that's all I got. Any other logical assumptions out there. If we post well thought out conclusions, we should be able to entertain ourselves until the writers create some absurd plotline. Perhaps the ship will contain new friends for Krypto...
