Ok just wondering if I was the only one who thought that Lionel is becoming Brainiac. As soon as I saw the kryptonian alphabet going through his eyes the idea popped into my head. Later thinking about it more and more it made more sense. I think the way the new comics had it was that Brainiac came from Krypton as a machine that Jor-El made to help run the planet.
When Lionel and Clark swapped bodies a part of clark stayed in lionel and thats how his disease was cured. So when he went cataonic and recieved all the kryptonian information it linked the kryptonian origin of Brainiac to Lionel. Also Im not sure if it was before or after the whole revamp of DC comics but I have an issue where Lex was taken over by brainiac for a while and became his human host before creating his own bodies later on.
I could see them writting Lionel into being catatonic for a while and slowly showing the emergence of Brainiac coming forth and taking over. I dont think they would even call him brainiac ever or at least for a long time. Maybe making hints towards thats who he has become with Lionel and Brainiac both occupying the same body and mind. Maybe someone making a joke such as lionel gong off on quantum physics to chloe and chloe says "ok since when have you been such a brainiac."
