It's a pity, though, that the actor was shortchanged. I think he could have done a lot with that character if only they'd given him more to work with than the standard "Lana meets guy/guy turns psycho" scenario.

The actor didn't get too bad of deal. He had to leave because he's staring in a new series on the WB this fall.

Yeah, I was just about to say that, Smallville gave him exposure. He was an unknown actor before this episode. He might be a decent actor, but I hated the character.

Yeah the rough day line was hysterical.

I actually liked Jason's character at the beginning of the season because he was a likeable guy. I was hoping that they didn't turn him into a maniac like the usual guys Lana hooks up with, but what can you do?

If Jason dies in the meteor shower, what about JK and MK? It's not like they could have been that far apart when it hits. I wonder how TPTB will deal with that. Then again, I was surprised when the pilot of the helicopter died and Lana did not. So I guess it's not too big of a stretch for TPTB.

(Had a psychotic break in Seasn 3 and... WENT CRAZY in "Commencement")

(Started out good....then he met Lana (that was his downfall), learned about the stones, loved his mother....AND WENT CRAZY! and died)

Jason's actor wasn't totally unknown... my sister knew him from when he was Eric on a soap opera... Days of our lives I think....

So he had lots of exposure from that.

Oh and he was also on Dark Angel... he got really shortchanged on that show as at the end of the first season he shot himself in the head to save Jessica Alba... :P

They found a way to bring him back but it was a crappy way to end his character.

I actually thought that the meteor hitting the Kents house would make him a Meteor Freak,but we wouldn't be able to distinguish his facial features so they would a different actor.
