If you watch lana as she looks at the ship/object she has a Z in black on her face, I think its a little inside joke played by the creators........ Zod is coming me thinks!

hmmmm...

well...it looks like two scratches with blood running down her face - strictly coincidence.

besides...what reason would jor-el have to send zod just because the stone got blood on it; it just doesn't make sense. zod would be the LEAST likely person to send to earth because of kal-el's failed mission.

Yer why would Joe-El send him, he wouldnt want him to kill Kal-El (such a cooler name than Clark) who is his son. Clark was just lazy throughout the season though. He should have got all the stones full stop then decide what to do with them.

I don't think Jor-El has had any choice in the matter of what has happened - he is just telling Clark what is now happening, don't think he has caused it.

If I am right and its something to do with Zod - everyone stare at Lana's cheek from now on!

well...it is possible that jor-el had nothing to do with it, but from all the gathered info on the story so far, it looks as if whatever is in that ship was put there BY THE KRYPTONIANS in case the stones fell into the wrong hands.
AND jor-el did say, "...AWAKENED a great danger..." i don't think zod has been in some hybernation state in the phantom zone just waiting to be "awakened" by the stones.
zod was IMPRISONED and it was stated in the superman movies that the ONLY way for him to be released is "by a nuclear explosion in space" (which, of course happened in superman II).

i'm sorry...it's JUST not zod.

elaborating more on the story though...maybe we're all wrong about it being "sent" by jor-el or krypton. it could just be some evil kryptonian "thing" that was somehow connected to the stones in the ancient days. what we have to really think about is: WHY (WHY WHY WHY) would something have to come to earth because blood got on one of the stones? if we can answer that...i think we can answer the riddle of the ship.

(but it's definitely NOT zod.)
