Puzzled about the runtime for season finale

I'm not american, and i downloaded the season finale, the runtime of the show was 52mins, 10mins more than the normal episodes, I thought it was supposed to be a 90mins special? Were the commercials 38mins?! Or did i miss some action? It said 'To be continued' after Clark throws the joint stones into mid air @ artic circle

No your right when that happens its done.. You have to factor in commericals and also they included the Batman trailer and selected scenes in that 90 min, I believe. But your right its def not 90 min long.. the actually episode I mean..

hey why is everyone complaining about it not being a full 90 mins, I mean 52 mins is better than the usual 40 odd I think episodes come in at

Yeah, it definitely was shorter than it was made out to be. The channel I watch it on up here in Alberta managed to squeeze the whole thing into a 1-hour time slot. Mind you, they didn't show the movie preview, and the commercial slots were only 2-3 commercials each.

I wish it was a 2hour slot and then they could have 90 mins of smallvile and 20mins of averts and 10mins of Batman. Like One Tree Hill is it?
