I know everyone things that it may be the new villian, including myself, but just wanted to think outside the box. Is there a chance that we're missing something and the ship isn't actually evil or carrying evil? I haven't read the comics and all, but I guess this is for the die hard people, is there a chance it could be something else in that ship thats not evil or sinister in nature?

Maybe it's another ship sent by Jr-El to help guide Clark to his destiny. Maybe a replacement for the one that he blew up in Exodus?

Maybe? Maybe when the FOS gets built the ship will activate and pick Clark up unless Jor-El teaches him how to fly. Something like that has to happen or else our hero is stuck in the antartica, lol.

Clark will probably learn to fly on his own or he can run back home. He won't be stuck in Antartica of cos. Not sure if it really is Antartica...

He'll get back home somehow. He could run home. Or he could swim.

True. The only reason that people think its bad is from what Jor-El said about an evil coming and the reaction on Lana's face. But theres a good possibility that the evil still hasn't arrived yet and well if you saw a huge ship crash in the middle of a corn field wouldn't you have the same expression on your face?

Yeah, no doubt. I mean, its a crashed ufo.
Although, Jor 'El said it was a "danger" and it doesn't always = evil. (ie. a lion is dangerous, but its not necessarily 'evil' per say).

Good point. I mean the meteors ARE dangerous.

Did you noticed, that the ship has the same shape as the united stone ?
And I think they showed it landing right after Clark united the stones .
So maybe there's some connection between the stones and the ship, not just the shape .

Not to Clark. Jor-el said specifically what was coming could even destroy Clark. The meteors couldn't (reference him saving the little boy). It's possible the 'danger' is yet to arrive. But that ship is definately Kryptonian in design (matching Jor-el's family crest) but looks to me to be the antithesis of the ship Clark arrived in. Meaning it looks pretty darn evil.

yep personally i think it has to do with the united stones shape & the space ship shape! coinscedence?....i think NOT! not sure if it's evil or not! maybe it's supergirl!(matrix=supergirl died and then lex saves her bby putting dna of lana in her or something ike that right?well as i've read about her anyways?!
truth is, nobody knows what in the hell the ship carries!
UFO is black.
Lex wears black.
Lana wears black.
Lex is evil.
Lana is ... an annoying plot contrivance.
So the UFO will be an evil, annoying plot contrivance. It will be Lexana-el.

So, Lana will be (once again) be possesed by a being (if it is a being) from the ship?
Good grief, she's like a doorknob -- everyone gets a turn.

Well Lois can sing it with Clarky in place of Scotty
Back to the ship am I the only person who thinks it could be the real Krypto? I mean the ship looked like a bulky prototype of Clark's. And Krypto was sent before Clark maybe the meteors knocked his ship back on course.

An enormous ominous ship that instills terror and its all for Krypto? Now that would really make some people mad! What would they do with Shelby then? I mean I don't think you could have two dogs, especially when one's got super powers. Imagine them playing around and Krypto ends up knocking Shelby into the next state.

WHENS IT MY TURN?
 Hmm.. Does anyone know if this follows the comic book or anything else along those lines. I really want to know what's in that ship.. I hope when we all find out it's not lame.

I'm new here on the message board but been a fan of the top notch Smallville for years.
The ship at the end could it be Vartox. One of the classic superman enemies. Is an extraterrestrial from the planet Valeron, which blows up, and so Vartox come to Earth. He also has a romance with Lana Lang. He also has super powers similar to superman. Maybe the stones that should have been reunited earlier on would have stopped Valeron blowing up or the human blood on the stone sent Vartox to come and get them. Who knows this guessing game is fun.

That is an interesting theory. I doubt it, Vartox is pretty obscure and the ship really looks Kryptonian but I like the theory because of the relationship with Lana. Could Jor-el's warning be metaphorical, when he says "can even destroy you" could he be refering to a broken heart? Maybe.
didnt krypto the dog arrive in a space ship.

I've got it the definitive answer to what's inside the ship. (it's long sorry)
The Insect Queen and Bee-Boy (from Comics Resource)
That’s how this issue’s full-length, two-part, 23-page cover-story -- written by Otto Binder and drawn by George Papp – kicks off, but it begins in earnest at Smallville High School. During the biology class’ study of insects, Clark balks at the notion of preparing butterflies for mounting as specimens:
CLARK (SUPERBOY) KENT (thinking):
Ulp…it’s against my code to kill any living creature, even an insect!
Feigning clumsiness, Clark stumbles and uses his super-hard fingernail to create a hole in the classroom window through which the butterflies can escape. This act of compassion impresses Lana Lang so much that she gives Clark a kiss on their way home. After all, since she received a “bio-ring” as a gift of appreciation from a grasshopper-like alien she rescued a few months earlier (back in Binder and Papp’s “The Insect Queen Of Smallville!” in SUPERBOY No. 124, October, 1965) and assumed the not-so-secret-identity of “Insect Queen”, Lana has “a special sympathy for all insects”. Later, when a gust of wind blows their passports, visas and traveling papers into their swimming pool, Lana uses her bio-ring to turn into a humanoid water skater bug to retrieve the vital documents before they can be ruined in the water. Once the papers are rescued, the father and daughter prepare for a trip to meet Dr. Pelham, a famous entomologist, who’s researching insects in Africa. Rather than take an airliner or steamship, to save time and money, they’re transported to the Dark Continent by the Boy Of Steel, carried aloft on a platform borne by the flying teen! But during the unconventional flight, Lana gets bored, and uses her bio-ring to transform herself into a damsel fly, performing stunt-circles around Superboy! But when a strong wind blows her into the ocean below, she changes into a lobster-girl. Lana’s confident in this new form, until a huge shark unexpectedly attacks her! Superboy rescues her by letting Lana grab the edge of his cape with one of her claws:
