Looking back on it, the only way Jor- El was able to start the whole process of uniting the stones, was by forcing Clark to enter the phantom zone. After Clark came back as Kal-El (during the season 4 premiere), he realized that he must
"fulfill his destiny" (which was gathering three stones to save earth.) When Jor-El told him (during Commencement) that by denying his heritage (all season) he put both Earth and himself in danger of being destroyed, Clark realized what he had done. I think TPTB did an excellent job with this storyline, and I look forward to the Season 5 premiere. Furthermore, I hope that season 5 starts off much like season 2 premiere (with no time having elapsed.)

That would sure be good. I too hope there is no time elapsed - especially with Lana facing the opening Spaceship, Clark having just thrown the stone to create the FoS. They can't let us not see that.

Agreed - they almost have to pick up where they left off. I also hope Lana finds out about Clark early on in Season 5 too.

Yeah, there's just no way they'll have a 3-month gap like the last 2 seasons. They'll probably do something like how Vortex took place right after Tempest, then Heat 3 months later.

Did Heat really take place three months after Vortex? If so, what was the reasoning for this?

Vortex was, obviously, the aftermath of the tornado(s). Heat was the start of their sophimore year.

I didn't realize Heat was the start of their sophomore year, but looking at the episode guide I see that it was. For some reason I thought Heat was Episode #4 of season 2, but it actually was Episode #2 (of season 2.)
