Ship's shape and the crystal

I am sorry if this was posted in another thread, but I searched and could not find. As far as I notice the shape of the ship and the shape of the crystal are same. Does this mean anything? Maybe it means that the ship is not something or someone enemy to Clark.

well the crystal's top part, was pointed, while the ship's top was smoothed out...unless i missed something
