Clark can run nearly at, if not, faster than, the speed of light.... why not just run his butt out of there, everyone talks about it is the FOS, but he doesnt know that.... if i could run at 300,000,000 meters per freaking second, I would be back home in under a minute - screw antartica

theres just that pesky little ocean in the way. :p until he figures out how to fly.

Good point M.D. Plus, I don't think Clark can run quite that fast (speed of light), he may be able to fly almost that fast but I don't he can do it on foot.

I think Clark is fast enough to run on water, he was only surpised that Bart did it the first time.

Antartica?
I am refrencing the Movies on this one, but wasn't the FOS at the North Pole? and Antartica is the South Pole?

If so why did he not chase bart in "Run" when he ran on water? Maybe he can...but I don't think he knows he can, just like he doesn't think he knows how to fly.

he probably knows it, because when clark was chasing bart they were running around the same speed of one another, so when bart took off on water he knew he could've done it too but since he is what he is, he could drown

even if the ocean is in the way, you would think he would still run just to see what is going on, i mean really, dont just stand there, and yea, he can run at the speed of light now i believe

Arctic was used in pre-crisis, and Antartica in post-crisis.

yes, also, consider that he can stand almost all forms of temperatures, swimming through sub-zero waters is a breeze.

i mean granted i could imagine he wants to find out whats going on and why he is there- but wouldnt you think he'd atleast speed around alittle, see where he is- or maybe jump REALLY high and get a view of the earth lol

Really? Wow, I've been here thinking that it was the North Pole.

I guess that explains why there were mountains when he teleported there, considering the North Pole is in the middle of the ocean

Arctic region, it's pretty obvious what I meant.

No, I understood what you meant, it used to be in the Arctic region, but I always thought it was in the North Pole itself (don't ask why.)

Speaking of running, what was with Clark taking his time in the episode. He and a bunch of other people are going to die. He can stop it. But he doesn't even act quickly. At some point when he enters the cave to put one of the stones in, he walks into the cave, then walks around the center stone a little bit before putting it in. Why wasn't he he doing this all at super speed?

He probably did not want to make a mistake, and make the situation even worse.

lol sorry but thats probably one of the worst explinations, when you have been running at the speed of light for 18 years (yea yea the speed increases exponentially throughout the years), you become acustomed to doing things at that speed. Clark always does chores at super speed. I think they just wanted more emphasis on the scene, my best guess is he was worried what would happen. also how is it that Jor-El said he wouldnt survive the meteor shower? If they arent kryptonite rocks, he could easily (ok, not easily) survive even with a direct hit.

Well, if he was worried, he wouldn't want to make a mistake then, would he?

He's not going anywhere until he figures out why he got transported there.

I'm sorry but I cannot believe for a moment that Clark can run (or fly even as superman) at the speed of Light. Speed of sound certainly, but the speed of light is just silly.

The flash is able to run fast enough to do some crazy stuff (cross dimensions for example) but only when using a special piece of equipment, and superman is not quite as fast as him at top speed, its just superman can fly and so can keep up with him when he is just "running".

Also, I've always been bothered by the idea that Clark can outrun a bullet fired at someone, then push them out of the way before it reaches them. Shouldn't that be like being hit by a car travelling "faster than a speeding bullet"? I think I'd prefer to get shot.

i think the reason clark doesnt superspeed everywhere is probably because he consideres himself more human rather then kryptonian... and humans generally walk around everywhere.. so does clark.
it just doesnt occur to him to zip through everything.. although i would!
