View Full Version : Kara Zor-El on earth already!!!

Smallville writers must of heard all the commotion caused by the arrival of Kara in the recent issues of Superman/Batman title, but to have Kara in Smallville just after Clark has graduated is just poor writing, you don't see Kara Zor-El until Clark is well into his role as Superman.

Also, what is up with the size of the ship that supposedly contains Kara Zor-El? It's like ten times bigger thant the one Clark came in. If Kara's father Zor-El and his brother Jor-El knew that Krypton was going to explode, why is Kara's ship so much bigger?

I thought it was symbolic that the ship itself was much more angular and sinister looking than the ship that Clark arrived in. I don't believe it's Kara; I think whatever is inside must be the new villian...

OK, in the Superman/Batman comic, the story line was a giant asteroidi coming to earth, and Lex Luthor, as President, announced that he was certain the asteroid was heading to earth specifically because Superman was there. Inside the asteroid, made of Kryptonite of course, was Kara Zor-El's ship.

She was sent the same time as Kal-El, she was already a teenager when Krypton exploded, her rocketship didn't get clear before the planet exploded, so she traveled inside a large remnant of her planet, but the tracking devices in her ship honed in on Kal-El's ship, bringing the asteroid directly in contact with the earth.

It is very coincidental that they used a meteor shower in the finale and now there is another rocketship that's landed.

I'm sure spoilers will trickle down over the summer that will give us more info.

My first guess was ZOD, but how can that be? I thought he showed up much later in the supes storyline. didn't he?

Why did you think Kara was in there? Or any living creature was in there? I had guessed it was something like more sacred stones.

jor el was implying that the contents of that ship was headed to earth and there is nothing clark can do about it to save the planet.

Obviously watching it you first think about the meteor shower.

in that ship will be a villain.

It's definitely going to be a villain, that was the first thought that went through my head. The ship was very sinister looking and black. It's evil!

If it turns out to be either Kara or Krypto the superdog then I'm going to be very disappointed.

I'm saying either Braniac or the Eradiator.

Ok, i was trying to post right after the end but this place was packed. My theory, ZOD. Its not Kara, Its not Krypto. Sure how can Clark defeat him. But the hints were all there. Jor-El said something about something coming not even Clark can stop if he doesnt fullfill his destiny. I forget his other quotes but I think it all leads up to ZOD or another villian.

i think that the ship that has crashed will be a villan that will cause trouble all trough out season five..... cuz jor-el said that even clark wasnt going to be able to stop what was coming if he didnt fullfill his destiny

I could be wrong, but it just struck me that it reminded me of Superm/Batman story arc. In the arc, Supergirl was considered either a curse or a blessing, considering many people wanted to know about her and tried to control her for their own selfish reasons.

Also, it could be Braniac, I don't think it's the Eradicator considering it was the Eradicator that made the Fortress of Solitude in the modern version. The inmates of Phantom Zone could also be a possiblity, but why would they be traveling beside an asteroid? The Phantom Zone protects them from such harm, and how did they escape the Phantom Zone to begin with?

I will die from laughter if it is General Zod.

Kara sounds likely.

I am not diversed in the entire Superman mythos, but isn't Braniac a bit too superior for Clark to square-off against? It would be like Clark facing Darkseid in that he would most likely be killed.

That's why Clark was transported to make the Fortress so he could possibly find the knowledge to defeat Brainiac, but these are just conjectures, we still have to wait a whole summer to find out.

MAybe the ship is not Kryptonian. I mean in all of the episodes they draw you to suspect that it is, and even it's shape was the same as the "superman" chest shield, but they never "said" it was Kryptonian,

It has to be an evil villain, because Jor-El said "human blood has been spilled onto one of the stones, and now and unspeakible evil has been awakened." Also, the ship is black, and good guys tend to stay away from that color.

Also, if the ship was kryptonian wouldn't the asteroid be as well? There was no kryptonite spread about, it was a normal asteroid.

I feel it's some kind of Darkseid type of evil person. Jor-el had said the only chance Kal-el had in saving the earth is to reunite the stones together. Once they are together Clark would gain the power and knowledge to defeat this new menace, otherwise the earth would have been doomed.

I don't think it will be a super-evil villian, because if they start introducing these types of characters into the show, they don't leave room for him to face them later in life. Some things can be fine, like the Lois storyline, cause if you go with the movie there is that 12 year absence of Clark, and then he is fully grown, and Lois could just forget all about him. Or, it can been used to allow for the growing attraction she is hiding for him. But, insert characters like Darkseid and other such that he doesn't meet till well into his life as Superman is just wrong and shouldn't be done.

May I remind everyone Al & Miles have to follow a rule from WB that they're not allowed to show any Kryptonians other than Clark. (that's why we only hear Jor-el, and that's why Kara and Krypto are from Earth)

I heard someone mention that Zod has some comrades, and hence I will lean towards this option as to whom resides in that ship.
A ship that size... think about it.

05-19-2005, 01:47 PM
Well, I hope against hope it isn't Kara. That would confuse too many casual watchers - we've already had a fake Kara, why give us another?

Also, if they do indeed follow the no Kryptonian rule (and if robots from Krypton count as Kryptonians), could the ship be some form of cargo ship? May have info (which i would expect to be in the FOS, but I digress), more mysterious relics, who knows what. Or maybe it will be unopenable until the series finale, when Clark figures out the locking mechanism, and lo and behold he finds a nice spandex suit and cape, fresh from Planet Krypton drycleaners!

I still think it will be some form of Alien villian, but you never know.

4EverSmallville
05-19-2005, 01:52 PM
If it is some sort of super-villain, that raises the question as to how long Clark will be in the FOS. I know he's in there quite some time according to mythos but if there's some sort of monster wreaking havoc on SV, I would assume only Clark could stop it. Not to mention, Lana sees all this, I wonder how she will be involved.

TML
05-19-2005, 02:02 PM
Here's another reason why my theories will continue to mutate all the time: I do not know of the comics and now that 4EverSmallville mentioned the mythos having Clark be in the FoS for some while I am beginning to doubt the idea that the ship contains a villain.
If the doors opened already when Lana gazed upon it then I'd expect anything inside would practically leap out immediately and at least by the time someone enters the ship. This would with 100% certainty bring Clark around to Smallville to see what was going on with this apparent "villain".

Hence the idea presented here about the ship containing relics and items of interest to Kal-El sounds magnificent.
Then again I am not familiar with the mythos and can't say wether he ever got items from his real origins. I doubt a suit would take up that ship unless it was all bling bling with swiriling lights and disco balls accompanied by a few dolby speakers pounding the "Somebody saaaaaaaaaave meeeeeeeeeeeee!" tunes. This suit theory I seem to also dismiss since I have the strong idea that Clark got his suit made for him by his mother?
Again, shine light on my black void which is the Superman mythos knowledge I hope to posses.

I don't know if you guys noticed, when they were showing the meteor travelling through space, it hit something on its way, and there was a big spark, was it after Genevive was killed or before?

4EverSmallville
05-19-2005, 02:14 PM
Are you talking about the clips from earlier episodes, Clark's dream, or the meteors actually traveling through space.

The clip where two stars met and united was from Lucy, I don't remember anything similar from Clark's dream, and everything succeeding that was after the death of GT.

I'm not sure what you're talking about but if it wasn't from the clip from Lucy, then it was after GT's death.

Nazmul
05-19-2005, 02:17 PM
The reason I am saying this is because many are saying that the ship with supposed an evil villain is due to lana staining the element with Genevive's blood, so if it is the case then the courese of the meteor or the ship must have taken off right after the element got blood stained.

randy23
05-19-2005, 02:19 PM
Acutally, now that I thought about it throughly, Eradicator is a pretty good choice. In the comics, it is only the house of El that can command the Eradicator and Clark must have the rite of passage before he can control the Eradicator. Eradicator will follow its program and try to perserve the heritage of Krypton including protecting Clark as he did in 'Return of Superman'. Also, Eradicator actually tried to turn earth into a new Krypton, this could lead into famine and war, which could possibly wipe out earth's inhabitants to start anew.

Still, Supergirl would be a good choice, it was Darkseid that manipulated Kara's mind to turn against her friends, but that's going ahead of ourselves.
