Clark just rips open Lex's vault, and then the Kryptonite artifacts . . . boy Clark has gotten very careless with his powers.

Clark is always forgetting he has x-ray vision, like in Parish he could have x-rayed the barn before he found the body, but no, he knew something was up and wanted to know but still didn't use the x-ray.

Isn't lead posioness? So I don't think it would be, unless Lex knows about Clark's weakness when it comes to seeing through lead and had it mad out of lead.

But he had that ringing noise in his ear also. So he prob was just like forget x-ray, I wanna stop this ringing in my ears.

Clark honestly didn't have time to waste, he takes him a few seconds to do his X-ray, those seconds couldn't be wasted due to the meteor shower hitting Smallville.

And like someone said, that ringing in my ears would have made me tear the door down too.

I can't blame him in this case, either. The world was minutes away from possibly ending and he knew the stone was in the vault because of the ringing. He's not going to take to time to go scrounge through a few desk drawers trying to find a key...

I get migraines, and if tearing open a door would stop them when they happen, you'd best believe I would. Couple that with the fact the situation was rather dire, and I have no qualms about Clark's actions.

Lead is only poisonous if you eat it... and I can't imagine Lex makes a hobby of eating his vault door.

If the vault was lead lined then that explains it nicely, he knew the stone was in there because of the ringing but he couldn't x-ray through to see the mask.
Even if it wasn't lead lined his actions were still understandable although he probably should know from experience Luthor vaults always seem to hold some Kryptonite ;)
