When Lois walked down with the funny pj's, and then talks about her nightmare with a red cape, it was hilarious!!!

I thought it was way too forced. :(

I liked the "With my luck, I'd end up sitting across from the most bumbling reporter" line,

I agree with you about that. That line was one that should not have been included in this episode.

I agree, also. The little shout-outs and the like were sort of cute the first few times they did them, but now they're putting one in every episode and they're not even being clever about it. Subtlety would go a long way into making these throwaway lines tolerable, but every one seems to be more cheesy and obvious than the last.

"Hey Clark! I had this nightmare where you wear a red and blue suit and fly and are mega-strong. Yowzers!"

"Wow, Lois. That's so unlikely to happen! The only thing less likely would be for us to go to work at the Daily Planet together, and have an endearing love-hate comraderie that evolves into love. Hahaha."

I thought that the Clois scenes were really cute in this episode, although I do agree that the nightmare line was a tad forced.

Most of the winking to the camera was forced tonight.

I think the interaction between lois and clark is always entertaining. Plus the fact that we wont ever see them together, but know they end up together, it's kind of like the TPTB are tossing us a bone, by showing what their relationship would be like.

I also thought the red cape bit was forced. They were going for irony there, which sort of worked with Lois. Here she is, having nightmares about a guy in a red cape. If she only knew...That was kind of amusing.

But, then, they tried to push it with Clark, like just the mere thought of a guy in a red cape struck terror in his own heart. It was supposed to be funny because, after all, he will be a guy in a red cape one day. Only, it made no sense for him to react that way. Why, exactly, would he find thoughts of a guy in a red cape worthy of nightmares? Did he experience some kind of childhood trauma involving a red caped clown? (Lots of kids hate clowns, probably even Kryptonian one.) If so, adding a line like that woulda been funny.

Lois gives Clark a funny look, unable to understand why what she said made him tremble. Clark, catching her look, looks embarrassed. Martha, smiling at Clark's discomfort, says, "Well, you see Lois, when Clark was four, there was this clown..."

Otherwise, it didn't make sense. It was like hearing only half the joke.

^ Maybe Frank Costanza's lawyer had something to do with it..

HAHA, I think that might have been my favorite line of the episode. Along with the whole Lois/Clark loft scene which also had a bunch of foreshadowing to future events.

I think that was supposed to be sarcasm on CK's part.

No, I looked for sarcasm. I was thinking, "He can't possibly be serious here," so I was looking for signs that he was just putting Lois on. But I think he was actually being serious.

This episode was awesome, all of it except Lois. Her lines about the red cape, and being stuck accross from a bumbling reporter were cheesier than a wheel of cheddar.

But, other than Lois, this was the best finale ever.
