maybe some of the material was reedited in the last two episodes to keep some of the best parts for this finale so that the SUPER sized length would be justified.

if the extra long episode was crafted after filming had finished (as a marketing ploy more than an actual plot requirement), it would explain why the last two epsidoes were so thin.

You could be right. I'm personally glad that they're making this episode 90 minutes because I've felt that some episodes this season have seemed rushed and needed more time to sort themselves out.

Usually, and this is for any show, the shows before the finale are usually the ones that suck. Because everything is kinda stalled until the finale big blowoff so they can't really do anything big, you know? Its like they are restrained by giving too much away too soon.

The only two good episodes lately have been Blank and Onyx, and that's because the episodes were serious. All the completely random, pointless episodes have really hurt the second half of this season because the first half was looking great.
