I like the song "Tie a yellow ribbon" by Tony Orlando. It's sappy but it's so darn catchy.

haha, the most embarrassing song to like is this one (so dumb, and yet so catchy):

Yo, vip, let’s kick it!

Ice ice baby, ice ice baby
All right stop, collaborate and listen
Ice is back with my brand new invention
Something grabs a hold of me tightly
Then I flow like a harpoon daily and nightly
Will it ever stop? yo -- I don’t know
Turn off the lights and I’ll glow
To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal
Light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle.

Dance, bum rush the speaker that booms
I’m killing your brain like a poisonous mushroom
Deadly, when I play a dope melody
Anything less than the best is a felony
Love it or leave it, you better gain way
You better hit bull’s eye, the kid don’t play
If there was a problem, yo, I’ll solve it
Check out the hook while my dj revolves it

Ice ice baby vanilla, ice ice baby vanilla
Ice ice baby vanilla, ice ice baby vanilla

Now that the party is jumping
With the bass kicked in, the vegas are pumpin’
Quick to the point, to the point no faking
I’m cooking mcs like a pound of bacon
Burning them if they’re not quick and nimble
I go crazy when I hear a cymbal
And a hi hat with a souped up tempo
I’m on a roll and it’s time to go solo
Rollin’ in my 5.0
With my ragtop down so my hair can blow
The girlies on standby, waving just to say hi
Did you stop? no -- I just drove by
Kept on pursuing to the next stop
I busted a left and I’m heading to the next block
That block was dead

Yo -- so I continued to a1a beachfront ave.
Girls were hot wearing less than bikinis
Rockman lovers driving lamborghinis
Jealous ’cause I’m out geting mine
Shay with a gauge and vanilla with a nine
Reading for the chumps on the wall
The chumps acting ill because they’re so full of eight balls
Gunshots ranged out like a bell
I grabbed my nine -- all I heard were shells
Falling on the concrete real fast
Jumped in my car, slammed on the gas
Bumper to bumper the avenue’s packed
I’m trying to get away before the jackers jack
Police on the scene, you know what I mean
They passed me up, confronted all the dope fiends
If there was a problem, you, I’ll solve it
Check out the hook while my dj revolves it

Ice ice baby vanilla, ice ice baby vanilla
Ice ice baby vanilla, ice ice baby vanilla

Take heed, ’cause I’m a lyrical poet
Miami’s on the scene just in case you didn’t know it
My town, that created all the bass sound
Enough to shake and kick holes in the ground
’cause my style’s like a chemical spill
Feasible rhymes that you can vision and feel
Conducted and formed, this is a hell of a concept
We make it hype and you want to step with this
Shay plays on the fade, slice like a ninja
Cut like a razor blade so fast, other djs say, damn
If my rhyme was a drug, I’d sell it by the gram
Keep my composure when it’s time to get loose
Magnetized by the mic while I kick my juice
If there was a problem, yo -- I’ll solve it!
Check out the hook while deshay revolves it.

Ice ice baby vanilla, ice ice baby vanilla
Ice ice baby vanilla, ice ice baby vanilla

Yo man -- let’s get out of here! word to your mother!

LoL...almost all of my music collection could go on this list -- I've loved it all from Backstreet to Britney and all the way around and back. ( I guess that's a good thing though, because with every crowd I'm with, I can at least say I've heard their favorite band/group/singer at least once.)

Awesome! I'm not the only one here with a guilty pleasure for Britney Spears and NSYNC.

I absolutely love "Slave 4 U" by B-Spears. I play it far too often that I should. AND I know the choreography. Woot!

"Who let the dogs out", by Baha-Men. WHO-WHO-WHO!!

I once saw a fashion show in my home town and they played this song when some 50+ ladies climbed up the catwalk. Either the guy who picked it was terribly cruel or he had no idea what he was doing.

I'm ashamed to like "Bye, Bye, Bye" by 'N Sync, and "As long as you love me" by the Backstreet Boys. I really hate both of those bands, and that entire boy band genre, but those songs are catchy.

Other than that, my taste in music is pretty good.

Incidentally, I like "We built this city," too, but I'm not ashamed about it.

I'm guilty of all the Britney Spears, 'N Sync and Backstreet Boys, ones. :\
Not to mention Christina Aguleira, (back when she was still doing stuff like Genie in a Bottle) and Mandy Moore. I forget how her song about candy goes, but I used to listen to it.

Oh man, and Spice Girls, too. Yikes! O.O

Yup. It was like wicked hard to dodge all that pop that was being thrown at us towards the end of the 90's. -__-

I don't really remember New Kids on the Block, except that alot of girls in my 5th grade class at the time liked them. My best friend had a New Kids shirt, I remember. But I can't for the life of me think of any of their songs.

I'm pretty sure they had a cartoon, though. And MC Hammer had one too.

I don't remember caring about New Kids on the Block. :/ Too young, I guess.

But I do remember MC Hammer, though. How could you not, really? "Can't touch this." lol

I didn't even know they had cartoons back in the day. Weird.

Ok I love this song but it has some truly crazy lyrics :rotfl:

"That's Amore"

In Napoli,
Where love is king,
When boy meets girl,
Here's what they say...

When the moon hits your eye
Like a big Pizza pie
That's amore

When the world seems to shine
Like you've had too much wine
That's Amore

Bells will ring
Tinga linga ling
And you'll sing vita bella

Hearts will play
Tippy Tippy Tay
Tippy Tippt tay
Like a gay tarantella

When the stars make you drool
Just like pasta fazool
That's amore

When you dance down the street
With the stars at your feet
You're in love

When you walk in a dream
But, you know you're not dreaming signora
'Scusa me, but you see
Back in Old Napoli
That's amore.

Ba du dun du dun dun
Baby, baby, baby, baby, oh, baby
I love you

I feel weird about liking it and singing to it because I don't know what it means! Is it like a high school mob or about a lunch conspiracy about rotten bananas?

Uh huh, this my sh*t
All the girls stomp your feet like this

A few times I've been around that track
So it's not just gonna happen like that
Cause I ain't no hollaback girl
I ain't no hollaback girl

I heard that you were talking sh*t
And you didn't think that I would hear it
People hear you talking like that, getting everybody fired up
So I'm ready to attack, gonna lead the pack
Gonna get a touchdown, gonna take you out
That's right, put your pom-poms down, getting everybody fired up

Let me hear you say, this sh*t is bananas
B-A-N-A-N-A-S
This sh*t is bananas
B-A-N-A-N-A-S
Again, the sh*t is bananas
B-A-N-A-N-A-S
This sh*t is bananas
B-A-N-A-N-A-S

!!!!
when she says "That's my Sh.." that means that something (most likely the rythm and beat of the track) is cool and one of her favorites; and when she says "This sh.. is bananas" she means that something (most likely the song) is crazy (in a good way), it's cool, its hot, its nice, it's sick...b a n a n a s!

I usually hate country music, but this song was hilarious to me...

I wanna talk about ME
wanna talk about MY
wanna talk about number one, oh my me my
what I hate (?)
what I like
what I know
what I want
what I SEE
I talk bout you you you you usually
BUT OCCASIONALLY...
I WANNA TALK ABOUT MEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Don't ask me why I thought of this song, but when I did, I thought of this thread...

Remember that song called "Mmmm mmm mmm mmm" by the Crash Test Dummies? That song was so aweful that it was hilarious, and it was so hilarious that I memorized it and sang it like the nerd that I was to crack up my people in high school...

Lyrics you ask? here goes...

Onnnce there was this kiiiid who
Got into an accident and couldn't come to school
But whennn he finally caaaame back
His hair
had turned from black into bright white
He said that it was from when
The cars had smashed soooooooo haaaaaarrrrd

Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm
Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm

Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm
Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm

Onnnce there was this girrrl who
Wouldn't go and change with the girls in the change room
But whennn they finally maaaade her
They saw
birthmarks all over her body
She couldn't quite explain it
They'd always just beennnn therrrrrre

Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm
Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm

Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm
Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm

But both girl and boy were glad
'Cause one kid had it worse than that

'Cause thennn there was this boyyy whose
Parents made him come directly home right after school
And whennn they went to their church
They shook
and lurched all over the church floor
He couldn't quite explain it
They'd always just gonnnne therrrrrre

Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm
Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm

Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm
Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm

Don't ask me why I still remember the lyrics either... :rotfl:

In my early years of high school, I used to be embarrassed amitting that I listened to music outside of rap and some hip hop to my friends, but as time goes by, I'm a lot more open minded in terms of accepting other music gerne.

Tracks that I used to be embarrassed includes:
Can You Stand The Rain - New Edition
Billie Jean - Michael Jackson
and most rock music

However it's still embarrassing getting a ride from my brother from time to time with him boomin' some 50 Cent, The Game, G-Unit, Eminem, E-40, Mac Dre, or any BS commercial rap/hip hop.

I, too, enjoy many cheesetastic things including some music, but I can see the shame in liking a lot of the music listed in this thread.

:o When I was younger, I would be too embarrassed to tell people I had my walls plastered with New Kids . :\ But now I will listen to whatever I like in front of my husband or whoever without embarrassement. Heck,I still enjoy classic Michael Jackson music  ,although I don't agree with his bizarre actions.

I used to have my walls covered with New Kids posters as well when I was younger. My favourite was Joe Mcintyre. I had so many magazines with their pictures in them, as well as other stuff such as the Joe Mcintyre doll. I still have that and my Hangin Tough and Step-by-Step cassette tapes.

Nick Lachey has been getting me to swoon lately... I haven't been into boy bands in a really long time now... well, he's not part of a boy band anymore but him and Justin were at one point... yeah, like you guys didn't know that...
I might have mentioned that I just recently bought The Pussycat Dolls CD... that Buttons song just was calling to me...
And so unlike me... I even got an old Master P CD the other day :o I don't even listen to rap... :\

I agree about Sexyback getting stuck in your head and I'm not a fan of Justin Timberlake. Also, the song by The Scissor Sisters-I Don't Feel Like Dancin. I admit it is a little cheesy as it almost reminds me of the BeeGees, but I'm embarrassed to say that I like it.

Billy Ocean is awesome! I love his song "Caribbean Queen!" I jam to it every time I hear it on the oldies station.

Another song I enjoy is "Rocket 2 U" by The Jets! The oldies station plays the coolest, (most nostalgic), tunes ever; I love it.

Until today. On the radio I heard "Toxic" by Britney Spears and I immediately thought of this thread! I feel so ashamed to say that I like a song of Britney Spears'.
