"Fever Pitch"
I was disappointed as I was expecting to laugh a whole lot more considering is was billed as a romantic comedy & Jimmy Fallon was the co-star.
I adore Drew Barrymore & I love Jimmy from SNL and his CD "The BAthroom Wall"
However, Jimmy's last film, "Taxi," and this one, "Fever Pitch" were just not that funny.
I hate to say it, but one more strike & you're out, Jimmy :p

Kindom of Heaven looks good in previews. I seems to me they are copying the medieval look and huge CGI battles scenes from the LOTR movies.

Yesterday, in honor of the day before Memorial Day, we watched "Dave" & "First Daughter."
Dave is an older one with Kevin Klein & Sigourney Weaver. I think he's pretty funny & I always will remember her as Dana Barrett off of "The Ghostbusters."
"First Daughter" has Katie Holmes & the guy who plays her dad, the president, (Michael Keaton) was Batman in one of the movies. I kept just waiting for him to slide down a pole & get on his bat suit

"October Sky" about Homer Hickam, Jr. & the rocket boys which is set in Coalwood, West Virginia in 1957. It is based on a true story which was recorded in a book, "Rocket Boys," which is an autobiography written by Hickam. (I've never read the book though.)

I saw Land of the Dead for the second time this past Thursday and I thought it excellent except for a part of the ending. The makeup and effects were very well done and the story itself was very good, and Savini's reprise of his role from the original Dawn was fun, too-- especially since I hadn't read about it and didn't know it was coming.
And I saw Batman Begins for the second time Friday, and I thought it excellent as well.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith was the last movie that I saw. I liked it. It was quirky, witty, and smart. Loved the scene where Brad was in the desert in this cart with "Nothin but a good time" by Poison blasting in the background. I was laughing so hard!! I hope that I will be able to see Dark Water or Fantastic Four this weekend. It depends on what my friends want to see also. I also want to rent Be Cool. Mr. & Mrs. Smith - I didn't like it at all, but I am not a Brad "Arm" Pitt fan. I thought the movie would be pretty much a "guy" movie with lots of action. Then, it was less of that & more about that therapy session they kept jumping back to.
War of the Worlds - liked it except for the part where Rachel & her Dad are in the basement with that very creepy guy. I thought he was going to be a serial killer or something
Ice Princess - Yes, I know it's a cheesey movie for little girls, but I love ice skating, so sue me. all I can say is zamboni's don't belong on ponds I thought Joan Cusack was great. but the cameos by Michelle Kwan & Brian Boitano were very small & they didn't skate, just announced.

The Grudge - The whole time I was like, come on Buffy, you can take care of yourself. I didn't like the kid seemingly making the cat noises like that. And they kind of made it look like the kid and the cat were the one and the same.
Boogeyman - the whole time I was like, don't be scared, it's just Matt Camden  (Sorry, Barry. I know you probably don't want to be thought of as Matt forever.) I also thought making the little girl dead was really original
In Good Company - not the ending I was expecting.
The Work and the Glory - it was nice to see Eric Johnson (Whitney Fordman) as Joshua Steed. Although, it's hard for me to think of Eric as a brunette who is a bad boy.

I saw a good film last night called "My Date With Drew." It's a documentary about a 27-year-old guy who has been a big fan of Drew Barrymore since he was a kid. He gives himself 30 days to get a date with her. It sounds dumb, but it was a very funny and enjoyable movie.

It was okay, for a guy movie  , but I hated the last line of the movie. I thought it was degrading for a lady to say that to a guy she liked, even if it was in a smart alecky way . Why use slang words that refer to female body parts in a negative way? Why should slang words for female bodys part be something that is used to convey a negative put down? I detest that so many cuss words have female denotations & connotations, but I digress. Back to movies...
I saw The Dukes of Hazzard - I hate how they walked all over the song at the front. That irritated me. I love that song.
I thought Johnny Knoxville (Luke) was distracting because the whole time I kept thinking "Jackass" ;) Plus, he seemed to be doing several jackass-like stunts throughout. Rosco didn't look or act like anything I remembered & they only used the dog twice? Uncle Jessie's foul mouth was really distracting. And Jessica's (Daisy's) fake Southern accent was funny. When she said, "shake my ass" I shought she had said, "shave my ass."
Also, since when is Hazzard county in Georgia? That just doesn't sound right, but then again, it's been awhile since I saw the show. But I loved the show as a little girl & used to get in & out of the car that way  Also, that is one of the reasons I love "Smallville," John Schneider.

I saw "The Constant Gardener" (not for small kids, It's a complicated story and includes a little nudity:\) anyways, I found it quite interesting! I recommend it very much. It's about big compamies of Pharmacies and how they and the government are in an agreement. They test products that can cure somesort of a sickness, but the medicine can cure you or kill you, and they test these medicines on the poor of Africa. This couple investigate about it.

what would you compare it to?......The Omen I & II, The grudge, Exorcist the beginning, Amytiville Horror, The Boogyman, Exorcist 2? I know it can't be as scary as The actual Exorcist. (haven't seen it but everybody i've met say that nothing is as bad as that one) All the other ones i've listed above I have seen though and more....on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being scariest) what would you rank it?

I was surprised to see it at Blockbuster (since I didn't even know it existed), but there it was with Robin Williams and David Duchovny on the front
It was written and directed and acted in by David Duchovny. He just looked so strange with that facial hair. At it was strange since his character's mother, via flashbacks, was played by his wife in real life, Tea Leoni.

I saw HP + GOF on Friday - the day it came out :D. It's really amazing but the beginning bit couldn't been longer, we didn't even get to see the match! I think that's the only thing that disapointed me - there's only so much you can fit into a 2 1/2 hour film.
This weekend's movies I saw:
In Her Shoes - 1.5/5
Turgid chick flick.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - 3.5/5
Best of the Potter series for me, but still not a patch on the book.
The Constant Gardener - 4/5
Awesome film. Sure to be in the Oscar nominations. And if not, why not?
This week I plan to see:
Tuesday - The Libertine
Thursday - Mrs. Henderson Presents
Friday - Flightplan
and I might go see HP again. Great stuff on the silver screen at the moment!

Dude, they couldn't pay me to see "In Her Shoes" and i'm a girl!
I saw Rosemary's Baby for the first time, I really liked it, but probably for the wrong reasons. The whole thing felt really dated with the way Rosemary acted, she acted like a little girl that needed to be taken care of, she was sooo sweet it made my teeth hurt! I'm more used to "Ripely" from Alien kind of chicks in the movies, now "Ripely" would have beat down all the devil worshipers and taken names later! Girl Power! But I guess thats just my generation.

I know there is a thread somewhere but I can't wait to see Chronicles of Narnia...It looks amazing and I loved the books as well...The last one I saw was actually Batman Begins since I just waited to buy the DVD...I loved it
