Rule no2

2) Absolutely no profanity or explicit sexual references are allowed on this board. We also do not allow threats or insinuations of violence toward anyone. All content must be PG-13, except in the Adult Fan Fiction Forum, and please read the guidelines for THAT forum carefully before participating in it. Gauging what is PG13 behavior is pretty simple. If you'd be embarassed to say it in front of a grandmother, you probably shouldn't be posting it here. If you don't see it or hear it on prime time television, it definitely doesn't belong here either.

Just so you know.

i saw king kong on 12/28...it was really long and i felt it was way too boring in the beginning...i mean i literally fell asleep in and out of the movie in the beginning.....but later it got so exciting i jumped from my seat and awoke thinking "Oh SH*T!!!!"....
so i give it a 9 out of 10 or an A

i also saw fun with dick and jane on new years day and it was at times predictable but funny. it was clever and witty.
i give it a 7.5 out of 10 or a B-

Well I have to agree with Ferd, the scenes were much more ehm...mature than I thought but the performances were great and even though the topic maybe highly controversial it was a very heartfelt movie in my opinion.

9/10. I doubt it will win best movie though.

I very much prefered Memoirs of a Geisha which was a great movie in my opinion, not to mention the score for that movie was done by John Williams;) same dude to do teh Superman songs, Star Wars, Jaws, etc.

Both are just great movies. I recommend you watch them both.

The perv getting it in the drive through wasn't suprising? That one surprised me. But in FD3 they set it up so they weren't suppose to be surprisely that much due to the fact of the pictures. That was the set-up on purpose. They did the surprise affect in FD1 and FD2, but now in FD3 they knew the audience would spot things easier so they made the characters more aware. Hence the pictures from the digitial camera. Plus Ryan Merriman is such a hottie :D.

TMLS' BROTHER
02-18-2006, 02:14 PM
That one was a little surprising I suppose, oh and I didnt see the last one coming (Though i'd guessed the flashback thing again). Who is he? I know the face I just can't think what he is out of! And I noticed that the lead female character was out of sky high.

The vision on the subway? Yea, I didn't think it was a vision at all. I thought it actually happened. I liked the notion of last one to die is a suicide. The only FD movie I couldn't stand was FD2. The CGI was flimsy, the blood looked like ketcup, and the main lead was just bad acting. In FD3 I thought the blood looked better, and the main leads were very funny and far better.

Ryan Merriman has been on a lot of things from original Disney Channel movies, The Pretender series, The Deep End of the Ocean, and he appeared on SV once in S3 "Velocity". He just has the bluest eyes :D.

Yea, me to. For I say a good 20 minutes I keep thinking "I know this actress from somewhere". She was the villian in Sky High :). I really liked her in this one too.

Summers
02-18-2006, 02:33 PM
Oh you haven't seen FD1 . Oh, those had the most suprising deaths since it was the first one. There were some definite slow parts, but one of the things I liked about FD3 was that the it was actually a faster pace. I liked the firework park since it was so fast paced. They would go and intervene to save Julie, and then try to save the next person next to her. It was a faster pace.

I think for any type of horror, psychological thriller, and slasher movie it really depends on the person's level of fear and scare. It really depends on a person's POV. At least that's what I noticed when discussing this gendre.

One of my fav Josh Harnet movies now, and has great A-List actors like Morgan Freeman, Sir Ben Kingsley, and Bruce Willis

The Boondocks Saints-I just saw this on dvd, and I just loved it. Very funny movie, but expect very hardcore violence. Has Sean Patrick Flannery, and man he is so hot. Especially as a Irishman *drools*.

I love too many to pick just one, anyway. I really enjoyed Little Manhattan. Don't take my word for it though, I loved Napoleon Dynamite and recommended it to my sister and she couldn't get into it... and I recommended The Weather Man to my Dad and he thought it was one of the dumbest movies he'd ever seen. But if you like family movies or can get into movies where a child is a main character, I think this one is too cute. Synopsis: a 10 year old boy talks about the first time he fell in love... awww...

I agree with both. I saw Derailed and thought it was cool. And A History Of Violence wasn't what I expected... it had a much different story plot than I had originally thought.

I watched Match Point yesterday and was I the only person to see it and go, "What the heck?" I thought it did a complete 180. I am not sure if I liked it or not. I think it dragged for the first 30 or 45 minutes. I had to force myself to sit through it hoping it would pick up. It did... eventually... :\

I saw Match Point and didn't care for it much. I have to be able to connect with a character or characters and I didn't feel any connection with any of them. Not one that I'd recommend.

Midgard--glad you liked Elizabethtown. I didn't like it for the same reasons as above. Didn't connect with the characters.

By the way, by connect, that doesn't mean that I have to like the characters. I guess it's more like they have to impact me in some way.

War Of The World (2005)- I'm not a big fan of Tom Cruise as of late, but I was curious how this movie was different from the original. I'm a big fan of H.G. Wells, so despite not liking Cruise I watched the movie today. I was quite frankly very impressed. I loved how the movie looked, and the speed of it. I enjoyed the father and the kids closeness to each other throughout the movie. I was also glad they kept the noise the machines make. The way Spielberg reminded me how another creator I admire which is Joss Whedon. I noticed this time Spielberg put a lot more activity in his frames. For an example, when Ray is going to the intersection to see what is in the road he had this extra on a skateboard skate in front of Ray. He would put Ray either in the background, and how the extras in front at times. I don't quite recall Spielberg ever doing that before until now. Joss Whedon had the knack of doing his directing the same way. To make the frames more natural. I loved that :). I was very impressed by this film, and I thought I wouldn't be. I know some people didn't like the way the aliens died since it was too simplistic(very similar to the Matrix Trilogy ending), but to me as long as it isn't too anti-climatic then I'm cool. Scienitifically speaking it makes perfect sense. What I didn't get is how in the heck did the aliens became to be underground without being notice. Did they say it in the film, and I missed it? I give it 9/10

Side Effects-I'm a person who just loves independent movies because these movies don't relay on marketing and big budgets to make a good film. They have considerably low budgets, and to make a good film relies heavily on the actors, writing, and director. I'm a big fan of Katherine Heigl ever since her Roswell days, and one of my closest friends is in the medical profession. So we watched this independent movie called Side Effects. Here's a summary if you don't know:

KARLY HERT has spent the last ten years selling drugs...legally, that is. Although conflicted on a daily basis by the values within the pharmaceutical industry, and industry driven by profits at the expense of patients; Karly has been seduced by the golden handcuffs of corporate America. Enter ZACH DANNER, who convinces Karly to be true to her values and walk away from her lucrative but empty job. As their relationship blossoms, Karly devises a plan to get out. But leaving is never quite as easy as it seems...

This film was filmed in 16 days with a budget of $190 thousand dollars. The film they used was very student film-style. I love how this film looked because it would go back to a type of documentary style to what is happening to Karly in the job. The way the couple of Karly and Zach was portrayed to me was very realistic. To how they would flirt with each other with their banter, and how they would argue. There were scenes that were as if just watching real life because of how the film looked. This film also bring awareness of the pharmaceutical industry that I had no idea was capable of. They also use a lot of indie bands that are just plain terrific. Next to Roswell and Grey's Anatomy Katherine Heigl did a terrific job in this film. How she does the evolution of Karly through her physical movement, tones depending where Karly is in her evolution of her character, and facial expressions were terrific. She truly did the evolution perfectly of this character. If you are a big fan of independent movies, then I recommend this film highly. 10/10

X3-What I said about this movie I already said in the thread about, so I give it 6/10. Had the potential to be better :\.

No, they never said. Well, they said that the machines had probably been underground for thousands or even millions of years - before humans would care to notice - but why they would do that is beyond me.

I like Steven Spielberg. I hope to grow up to be just like him. But he is the one who came up with the idea that the aliens come from underground instead of the sky... and yet he never bothered to really explain why.

I watched the Family Stone recently and didn't care for it at all...

I also watched Failure To Launch and thought it was cute... a movie I'd want to own...

Pride & Prejudice I love so much that I've seen it about 20 times...

I also rented When A Stranger Calls not long ago and didn't see why so many people hated it... I thought it was alright...

Watched Paul Walker's movie Running Scared and wasn't terribly impressed with it and that's that I'm an avid Paul Walker fan...
