Ok,I dont know how many of you guys remember the game
Back to the Future II & III which was realesed for the
old NES console a couple of years ago.
I was so intrigued when I first buyed it and,as I saw the package, I thought,"What kind of a game this is" and then, as I just placed the cartridge in the console, something awful
began to happen:As the game began,it seemed that I was looking at a clone of the old Super Mario Bros game...
For starters, the music was awful! It had a very strange theme music based upon the song "Back in time" which plays at the end of the Back to the future I movie.Second, the plot doesnt make sense at all,it appears that after Biff had becomed a rich man,
he had put several items out of place, and that your goal,as
Marty, you have to recover all of those items....and in doing so,
supposedly you destroy the alternate 1985.
But the game doesnt ends there, you are transported back to 1885 with something similar to rescue Doc.Arggghhh the graphics are awful awful and Marty looks like Mario bros!!!
Why did they developed a game which looked out more like
Mario and little less than true BTTF?
Do you remember this game, did any of you played it?
Also, was there ever a version for the SUPER NES?

Well,it was about Back to the Future....those guys didnt knew what they had in their hands! At least they could had done something nice....that game looked as if it was designed by a 5 year old or something! There are NES games that are good you know....it s just that its a shame that they screwed up something as bog and cool as BTTF really is!

You know i think the horrible graphics and terrible game play just adds to the charm of nintendo. Besides the single greatest game of all time imo is the staple of NES and that zelda.

Was the first level in Back to the Future 2 something with the hoverboard?
I think I might remember it, but it's been so long.

Not really, the hoverboard was already there in the alternate 1985!
That game was worse than the alternate 1985 created by Biff!
By the way did any of you finished the game??The music was so.....so....arghhhhhhh!!!!!

The game was really bad....hey did you saw the game based upon the first movie??It was also bad bad bad!
I mean, when they were developing the game, what were they thinking???"Hey,lets make Marty McFly as popular as Mario Bros"!
Gee.....however there wasnt a version for BTTF II & III for the Super NES,right??

BTTF never made it to SNES.
I played the original BTTF for NES back when I was a little kid, and boy, that some beach was difficult. I could make it to the stage where you hurl milkshakes at Biff & company but couldn't beat it. At the time my brother could get to the library to block Lorraine's blown kisses. Then it sat in a box for a while and many years later, my brother played the game and beat it.
Marty didn't look like Marty, they had weird obstacles, you used a bowling ball for a weapon....I wonder if whoever created the game ever even watched the movie. But, I guess that is as it goes for games based on movies. :\
I never played the II & III game, but wanted to when I saw it at the video store.
Maybe they should have just outright ripped off Mario Bros. and used the same game engine. Maybe BTTF could have been fun to play.
Anyway, NES used to rock back in the day. And if it still worked after 15 or so years, it would probably still rock.

You see,BTTF II & III did looked like a very bad copy of the Mario Bros games.Marty looked like Mario(his younger version??)
Marty had to jump Mario bros obstacle like objects, the plot was very hard to follow....and also the game started in the alternate 1985,where you had to recover many objects that were misplaced by Biff....the guys that developed this game were 5 year olds,I think....
I would loved to see a Super NES version of BTTF,it might have been done better!

i have never played BTTF 2 and 3 but i have the original game on NES and it has to be the worst game ever. you have to go through these street levels, and after that you have to throw milkshakes or rootbeer floats or whatever it is at a bunch of bullies. you have to get 50 knocked down. it is very hard. then after that you have to go through more street levels and then you have to block little hearts that Lorraine throws at you. after that i do not know what comes next because i have never beaten the game.

There's no excuse for bad gameplay, IMO.

Honestly for the time when they came out those games were great. Yeah, they aren't the best games in the world but they at least tried something different.
I actually bought them again minus the box for BTTF collection. Played them a while ago and was miserable on 2 and 3, but was excellent at the original game. In fact, I almost had it beat. The frustration level of the first game made it that much more fun. Kind of reminded of a deranged take on Paperboy except running and skateboarding to survive.
