they are very good, but the best band ever? don't quite agree there but no one agrees with me that The Doors are the best ever either.

When I hear the name Linkin Park, the first things that come to mind are "played out" and "overrated".

I loved their first album, but since they got really popular they play their songs too much on the radio. And they make a music video for too many of their songs.

One music video is enough for an album. When they make more they are just getting greedy for record sales.

As for best band ever. That's a big no for me. Not even the best recent band. Breaking Benjamin is a much better new band.(last 3 years or so)

of course you didn't offend me. i like them a lot matter of fact hybrid theory is what is in my cd player right now, i just think that the doors are the best ever, that is what is so great about opinions they are each and every ones to do with as they wish.

Have you heard reanimation?

sadly the only part of that one that i've heard is "pushing me away" i've been low on funds to further my cd collection and am just too lazy and/or moral to obtain it by other means

I have only heard that one to.
Have you heard meteora?

luthorsmentor

Linkin Park's an awesome band. Good stuff. Not the best ever though.

Hybrid Theory was a great cd. I really liked Their mash up with Jay Z too.

My feelings on LP:

I think the songwriting is pedestrian at best, the musicianship is kind of bland, but their arrangements, as well as mixing and production, are absolutely top notch. One of my favorites to just listen to.

They also do a pretty killer cover of NIN's "Wish" on their most recent "The Underground" EP.

Linkin Park is a very good band. Loved Hybrid Theory and Meteora enough to burn them both onto a single cd. :)

I have heard Reanimation but didn't really like it. :(

KingsGirl and luthorsmentor, it is good to see that I'm not the only one that has Live in Texas, though I"m surprised I'm the first to bring it up.

Linkin Park is one of those bands, which you really love their music or hate it at the same time. For example I knew a lot of people that have really liked on of their songs and really hated another one.

now one last question what in the world were they doing making a song with JayZ, not only did it really sound bad, but it was just 2 songs put togther, nothing original or anything.

I love Meteroa and Hybrid Theory. LP is one of my favorite alternative rock bands. I still cant get enough of "Breaking The Habit" or "In The End".

Meteora absolutely rocks. I thought Hybrid Theory, while decent, was totally played out - I can hardly listen to it anymore. Honestly, the best track they have out, 'Session', from Meteora. That's a little chunk of sonic perfection right there!

Lol to the original poster. You can't be very old.

Might help if you listened to some old bands.........

Who helped create the "punk" genre, and made bands what they are today.

They became horrible when Jay-Z started to do stuff with them. In the End is still their best song tho.

Linkin Park is finally releasing their third studio,Minutes to Midnight, on May 15. The song "What I've Done" is being released as a single April 2. All I can say is that its about time and I'm really excited for this album its been to long without anything new from these guys.

I loved both but I like Meteora a tad bit more.

Hybrid Theory for sure, most band's first album are usually their best.

I didnt think anything could top Hybrid Theory but I really love Meteora and usually listen to it more than Hybrid Theory...and actually I prefer Reanimation to Hybrid Theory now....its all good though....Meteora..to me anyways..has such a more deeper and sweeter sound...almost melancholy...that could just be me:p

so did anyone hear the new single today??

I thought it was pretty damn good...although I am wondering what role Mike Shinoda is playing on this album...he isnt in the first single at all..and with Fort Minor..does anyone know how much he is featured on the new album?....just curious if it was less or not

I heard the new single its a really damn good song.If the rest of Minutes to Midnight is as good as What I've Done then I'll be very happy.I know Mike Shinoda does more singing on the album and only raps in a few songs.Theres also going to be a minute long guitar solo on one of the songs.

hey the new album is out..anyone else got it?

I have to say after reading a ton of horrible reviews....I wasnt expecting much...usually I dont depend on critics....but I was curious..so I was horrified to read them...since I am a huge LP fan...but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised...this album is great...sure I will give it "different" and "mellow"...but all the same..i think its a wonderful cd...I love all of the songs...and personally I prefer the more mellower, mature side of LP...I loved Hybrid Theory and I loved Meteora...and I love Minutes to Midnight:)

Well a lot of people are dissapointed with the new album because everyone's used to the "hard" Linkin Park

Though i quite like the new Linkin Park. it's a nice change, their songs have more meaning then they ever did (most of the album that is)

The best part of it is even though the music is not as hardcore or w/e it still sounds like Linkin Park. You know it's them when you hear it.

Great Album 9/10 imo.

I would be a 10 but theirs a couple awesome new songs they did not add to the new album.

yes I agree! Its not as "hard"...but I still love it....and it still fits nicely in my collection....I dont know..sometimes I think people just look for something to not like....I mean people were tearing it down before it even came out....oh well....I love LP...and I love this CD....just as all of their other projects....I cant wait to see Projekt Revolution in August!!:D

I have time to think i listen it second and third time. I was expecting something different, not something more. Album is perfectly fine.

My one and only complaint is that there arent as many heavy songs. Two or three more would have been fine that way the heavy and slow songs had an even amount.Other than that its a damn good cd.

Yeah it'd be nice to have a couple more "hard" songs.

And they really need to start making longer albums. One of the reasons i really like Reanimation is because it's long(er).

Like 15 or so would be fine and a few more harder songs. It would have been perfect.

I love "What I've Done" but it's the first Linkin Park song in a long while that I've loved. I'll stick to listening to it on my Transformers soundtrack, which has at least 4 great songs and the rest of them decent to good songs. How is the rest of the LP album though?

Its pretty good in my opinion. Its alot different from their older stuff but its still good. There are alot of more mellow songs but there are some heavy songs that kick major ass. Most of the slower songs are still pretty good, if there were about 3 or so more heavy songs it would be perfect.

I love this album just as much as the others. The great thing about LP cd's to me is that I can listen to them from beginning to end and love every minute of it.

Anyone going (or went) to Projekt Revolution?

its here on the 22nd and I am going! And I just found out that Myspace will be streaming that concert online on Wednesday which is pretty cool:cool:...lets hope they dont swing any cameras my way:lol:

I'll be on the lawn. I'm excited about it, I always wanted to see Linkin Park in concert. There are a few other bands I like there too.

oh my god that concert was GREAT! G R E A T!!!!! like I am still pumped a day later:lol:

I think all of the bands put on a great performance....the energy was just awesome...and I am a big Taking Back Sunday fan and that the first time I saw them..and they were also great:D

for the last Projekt Revolution in 2004 I was on the lawn and it was cool too..not a good view where we were sitting though....but this time I was in the pavillion...and oh my god it was SO hot but like LP put on SUCH a great show.....I have got some great pics I will have to post:)

It was awesome! I wanted to see Linkin Park more than anyone else there and it was definitely worth the wait. There were other bands I liked but I wanted to see LP the most. I was on the lawn at the very top cause I kept moving around. I wish I would have got some pictured but I didnt have a camera. All the bands did put on a great performance though like you said.
