These movies are so sick! The Godfather is my all time favorite movie followed closely by number 2. Number 3 gets ragged on all the time but it really is a good movie especially if you are a big time fan. When Michael took out Salazzo and the Police Chief Mcclusky was the best kill a fool scene ever!

The Godfather is probably the most quoted and parodied movie ever, my favorite quote is "leave the gun take the canolis" after Clemenza and his flunky kill Pauley. Even Smallville has gotten on the Godfather mention bandwagon when Lana said "why do men always quote the Godfather" then later on in the ep Lex says"to quote the Godfather it's time to go to the mattresses" and Clark just looks at him like no s*** Lana was right.

Anywho these are the best characters ever created anyone else feel even remotely close to me on how much I love these flicks?

I love Godfather 2. I loved how they did the flashbacks, and what was going with the family was interesting how it went back and forth.

Godfather I & II are 2 of the greatest films ever.Id put I in my list of top 5 all-time and II in the top 10.

'Ill make him an offer he cant refuse'
'I dont feel I have to kill everyone-just my enemies'
'What are u gonna do huh-nice college boy-u got to get right up close and bada-bing-u blow their brains out all over your nice ivy league suit'
'U take care of me-youre my kid brother and u take care of me-Did u ever once think about that-Im the older brother and i got passed over-Im smart, not dumb-like everyone says-Im smart-and i want respect'!

I didnt like III-too many characters gone for 1 thing.Just couldnt get into it-IMO a real letdown after the greatness of the 1st 2.

One of the greatest scenes of all the movies actually took place in pt3 in my opinion-when Mary gets shot and Michael starts screaming and crying but there's nothing coming out-*busts out the fake Italian accent* that'sa some-a goode acting:D

The original without a doubt. I'm a fan of Tessio.

I love the Godfather movies. I picked number 2 but i could have easyily gone with one. The scene i loved in pt 2:
"I know it was you Fredo. I know it was you and you broke my heart"

I love that scene. 1 & 2 are movies that if i start watching them I am hooked until it is over.

The keep it in the family thing in part 3 was just to creepy for me. Plu sno Tom Hagen.

really? I thought the Mary character was kinda lame. At the time Sophia Coppola wasnt a great actress yet, and her character had the hots for her half-cousin. That was...ewwww lol.

I think one of the best scenes in the Pt.1 where Micheal is in chruch ready to become a godfather to his nephew while everybody he has everybody who hurt his faimily is killing killed.

You gotta ignore the character I was just talking about Michael's reaction to his daughter getting shot because of the life he led. Also you gotta love the last scene when he dies...alone because of the life he led-but rich:D

Also gotta love the scene when Apollonia gets blown up by his bodyguard in the first movie

*sidenote in the movie they left it at that but in the book Michael kills that bodyguard he relocated to Buffalo, NY and ran a restaraunt he was killed at the end I believe when Tattaglia, Barzini, Carlo and Tessio were killed

*another side note there is a new book called the Godfather Returns it takes place where the movie pt1 left off and fills in the gap between pt 1 and 2, it is by Mark Winegardner and so far it is pretty cool-they show Tessio getting killed if any here like to read or are fans of the first book you should check it out it's pretty cool but the author uses to many Donnie Brasco style references about La Cosa Nostra and things of that nature which the first book did not.

oh, gotca ;) . That makes sense. One best killing scenes was when Sonny was ambused on the road, and shot to death.

Puzo said that when he wrote that scene he did it like that because Sonny was such a bigger than life character that they had to make sure he was dead-he compared it to Rasputin, they even shot him up after he was dead and broke his nose when the guy kicks him when he is leaving.

DeNiro also kicked much ass in the second movie when he is running from rooftop to rooftop to kill the Don and take over things-that was pimp he blasted him twice in the head and neck and just to make sure he put it in his mouth and did him in real good.

and he hide the weapons in the chimney's on the roof. It was really interesting when he went back to his homeland, and killed the people who were responsible for his father's death. He killed one of them with an oar  .

Kaye-Whos that scary looking man over there
Michael-Yes hes a very scary man
Kaye-Who is he?
Michael-His name is Luka Brazi-he does favors for my father
Kaye-What kind of favors
Michael-Once Johnny Fontaine had a contract with a certain bandleader-he wanted out of it-the bandleader refused to let him go-my father went to see him -he offered him 10,000 dollars and the bandleader still refused. The next day my father went to see him again-but this time he took Luka Brazi with him-and secured a contract buyout for 1000 dollars.

Kaye-How did he do that?
Michael-Luka Brazi held a gun to the mans head and my father assured him either his brains or his signature would be on the contract.

You got the characters right I was just saying that Luca Brasi was Don Vito's right hand man when it came to using some muscle-the character Rocco Lampone was that to Michael. Rocco is the ex cop who kills Barzini on the steps in his police uniform

Ok I have to tell you this guys.
You know all the parts shot in Sicily right? In a big old house? I've been there, it's some friends of my parents'. They also shot number IV there as well.

And also in III when Michael and everybody go to Sicily to watch Anthony sing, they get toa railway station. That's in Taormina, a small town where the annual Film Festivals take place? I have a house there. :)

I'm not into mafia movies. I don't like any of them. Especially the Godfather series. I only like one part of Scarface. That's when he sticks his face in all the coke and snorts. Friggin' hilarious. Otherwise, I can't stand any mob movies.

But it's cool. If you guys do, that's awesome.

My all time favorite movie of all time is The Godfather. When I first saw this movie I was just a kid, but I always ALWAYS tried to be like Marlin Brando because he's my second hero.

I've always liked how the Godfather puts together old italian mob with that old kind of spice to it. It's so classy and so genious. I love it.

The first part is definetly the best part, but Kudos to my man Pacino.

Those who were saying it was a shame that Luca Brasi died should read the book. Find out exactly what it is that made him such a feared man. In fact, I would reccomend the book to everyone, it really is incredible.

The last I heard of a fourth film was that Puzo had the idea of setting it when Sonny was a teenager, learning the ropes from Don Corleone. This was, of course, before Puzo sadly passed away. Unless anyone has any evidence to the contrary, I don't believe a fourth will happen.

I actually don't. If Puzo isn't around to write it, I don't really want to watch someone else's interpretation of what should happen to the characters. It doesn't seem right.

Seriously though, read the book. It's incredible.

I don't like The Godfather as much as I liked GoodFellas though. I read Wiseguy but I really don't want to read anything with the Godfather. I mostly just like the first part because of Marlon Brando. Other than that, I'm really not to into 2 and 3.

GoodFellas tops 2 and 3 hands down.

I found out something interesting for those of you who wanted to see a sequel - after reading The Godfather and The Last Don, I went searching for another Puzo book. I was about to buy 'Fools Die', because some characters from 'The Last Don' appeared in it, when I discovered 'The Sicilian'.

It's a 'during-quel' (a term invented for that Timone and Pumba film, in that the events take place during the first film). It's about Michael Corleone in Sicily, after Apollonia is killed but before he returns to America. I haven't read it yet, but I'll let you know what I think.

So, there is kind of another sequel to the Godfather, in a way. I also saw 'The Godfather: The Lost Years', which is written by someone else but with consent of the Puzo camp. I glanced briefly at the blurb on the back, and I have a horrible feeling that it ignores The Godfather: Part II, being set around the same time. So I'll probably ignore that one.
