Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and in current production the Passions of the Clerks. These are some great movies. Does anyone here like these flicks. I love them all and know them by heart and I'm so stoked they are doing a Clerks sequel can't wait. This isn't going to be a cameo maching like strike back I was checking out the message board and it's really cool because Kevin Smith (silent Bob) and Jason Mewes (Jay) post there all the time and you can talk to them. Anywho on the message board Kevin said only Dante, Randall, Jay, and Bob are returning. I don't wanna rant quite yet any feedback people?

Jay And Silent Bob rule!!!
Dogma was the best!!!
I thought the next Clerks movie was called 'Clerks 2:Hardley Clerkin' I read that at the end of one of Kevin Smiths movies, did he change the title or what?

Yeah it is gonna be The Passions of the Clerk, what you saw was probably before Passions of the christ which is obviously where he got it from. Here is a link were Kevin is talking about the new movie.http://viewaskew.com/theboard/viewtopic.php?t=14125

Last night I saw Chasing Amy it was on Love Stories that movie channel on directv, man that is such a great movie. I love Bankie when he draws the picture with the lipstick lesbian, the man hating butch lesbian, the easter bunny, and santa clause going for the 100 dollar bill that is hilarious. And of course Jay and Silent Bob's scene in the diner is great Jay ate so much suger Silent Bob broke his silence

Dogma.
I would have voted for Clerks but they were barley in it. Now if you asked which is the better of the 2 I would say it would be a close tie.
Jay and Silent Bob was okay but I don't think another one would be a hit.
I would say I like Randall better though.

Maybe I should clarify it doesn't really matter how long they are in it as long as there in it, Chasing Amy might be my favorite (I'm really not sure) and they only had one scene so basically what you think is best regardless of screen time.

Dogma was the best film by far!

01-20-2005, 03:13 PM
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon were only better in Good Will Hunting (which Kevin Smith was executive producer of) they played off of eachother excellently in this movie-did anyone notice Dante and Matt Damon have a real quick scene in Chasing Amy-their the tv guys trying to buy Bluntman and Chronic for a cartoon. Snootchie Bootchies :D

I am happy to see that Dogma is ruling th poll, cause I think that movie was so funny, especially the deleted scenes. when Jay starts insulting that black dude and tells Silent Bob to shoot him, and Silent Bob has that face that says he has no gun, damn, that was so funny!!!

truemeathead
01-20-2005, 04:41 PM
you mean the FAT ALBERT scene oh yes that was absolutely great. But the deleted scenes on JASBSB are the best hands down they had to cut them so the movie wouldn't be nc-17 they seriously need to make a director's cut. Like when they were getting on the bus then next thing you know they are hitching-they got kicked off of the bus for smoking illegal stuff in the bathroom man it is hilarious. HEY HEY HEY:D:D:D

Damn Right!!!

caveman
01-20-2005, 04:58 PM
I would have to say Dogma. While JASBSB is quite funny, the 2 main characters aren't strong enough to hold a movie by themselves. They work best in smaller supporting roles, hence Dogma comes out the winner.

I don't agree but I am a big time ******* so I'm biased, that is almost word for word one of the internet posts when Jay gets all pissed funny

Like I said screen time doesn't matter Amy only had them in one scene but it was a great movie and scene. Mewes ate so much sugar in that scene especially since they did the scene more than once-gave me a cavity just watching:D

I saw Amy opening day in Richmond, VA (had to drive 45 miles to go see it because the theaters where I lived refused to show it)....
When SB went off on Jay and told his story, a vacuum was created in the theater as the entire audience drew a collective gasp. I never even noticed Jay eating the sugar.

truemeathead
01-31-2005, 11:36 AM
Oh yeah he munched the sugar after he rolled his "cigar":D

"B***h what you don't know about me I could just about fit into the Grand Canyon-did you ever know I wanted to be a dancer*waves both hands in front of him flashdance style* you didn't know that s*** did you?"

When he flashes his hand was the funniest damn thing ever. I also like how at the end they were like we got some business in Chicago which set up Dogma.

I think the reality test with the 100 bucks at an intersection is the funniest thing I have seen in all 5 movies... but the Cousin Walter story at the beginning of Mallrats is by far the funniest thing I've ever heard.

truemeathead
01-31-2005, 11:48 AM
I was just talking about that intersection scene I was telling my brother in law about because he never seen it so I had to let him borrow that and Clerks. I love Jason Lee he is such a pimp and probably the best actor out of the lot. The train station scene in Amy is hilarious with the mags and the Affleck comes back and Bankie is like "then black beauty just couldn't take it anymore" when he is showing the little kid :rotfl: that is the funniest thing in all the movies-at least until I remember something else

truemeathead

"your dating fingercuffs, holy **** you sick ****"
:rotfl: that is so funny Affleck is already depressed about it then Jay sinks his battleship

As a Catholic, I have to say, out of all of their films, Dogma was the best. Talk about smart, funny, and satyrical! Clerks is next on my list, followed closely by Strike Back.

I'm not too sure how I feel about a sequel to Clerks. That film was one-of-a-kind, and very appropriate to its time period. I'm not too sure of how a sequel will translate into today's movies or culture. But hey! I'll definitely go watch it! :D

I like at the end of JASBSB they go to all the houses of the guys that were talking smack on the internet and beat them up, the funniest is the business man and the preacher.

Thanks for the condolences sailorv:(

I still think that Clerks is the best film out of all of them. It captured the retail environment and how horrible customers are so well, that it is one of my all time favorites. The movie is just so damn funny and entertaining overall.

How I would rank them :

1) Clerks
2) Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
3) Dogma
4) Mallrats
5) Chasing Amy - Only one I did not like. I HATED THIS MOVIE!!
