I take part in SETI at home and was just curious as to if anyone else has this running on their computer.

For anyone who doesn't know what it is, it is The Search for Extraterrestial Intelligence at home. You download the program for analysing the data from SETI's home page and start to analyse data that has come from arcibo radio obsevatory. Basically they are searching for radio signals from alien life.

Here is a link to the site if anyone is interested in knowing what it is all about: http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/

Yeah, we have some certificates too :D It's easy really to tot up the hours, if you are online with a continual connection, you just set it to run when you aren't using your computer, so ours tot's up quite a few hours overnight!!

Glad to have reminded you of your interest axis.

I love watching it running and looking out for a pattern. On the homepage they tell you what kind of thing to look out for and some guy who is signed up to it did a manip of the data stream and put a smily face on it and sent it to SETI. They use it as an example of the kind of things to look out for... although adding that the smiley face is faked and a little far fetched :D It's quite funny though!!! :D
