ur indian? sweet! I thought most of the people on this site were white. what part of india r u from?
my parents were born in New Delhi. I was born in New Jersey so I've been here all my life. I've only visited India maybe three times in my life. My entire family lives there so I don't have much contact with them.

i'm from the south, Bangalore.
Most of my family lives there, tho we seem to be taking over the U.S. now. LOL
I go there every summer.
lol, yeah I guess that makes me a northie. Cool that you go there every summer. It's good to stay in touch with your family. It probably gets really hot in the summer, though. Especially in the southern regions.

yea I know what you mean, we're called the mutts (my mom saids the same thing, LOL) in the cultural threads of life because we're so mixed up with everything, we're not pure breds, LOL.
Well you know what they say about mutts don't you, they are stronger, live longer and they have the best of all worlds not just one, LOL:lol:
lol, that is true artiist1284.
It's kind of mundane to be from one culture. It has its advantages too, though.

My great Grandpa was from Kerala, India. And my grandpa, mom and I take after him...heheh. So yeah I am from the Tamil community.
And I so love my Hindi movies...haha.
I don't like hindi movies at all. I know I'm indian, but all hindi movies are the same and the plot sucks in each of them. And there's too much singing and dancing.

Hehe, I used to think that too. For some time the plots were al similar and the dancing used to be a bit wierd but the newer movies are nicer. Well, for me I guess. :) Plus now I love the dancing and music. But then I like alot of things that are ethnic, I guess...
I don't know, I just can't seem to get into those movies. They're 3 hours long and soooo boring! I haven't seen any hindi movies in years, though so they could have changed. My parents are really into them, though.

(a summarized version of an excerpt from russell peters show in NYC)
I'll sum up the plot of every indian movie ever made. Boy meets girl. Girl meets boy. THey love each other. They can't be together. The girl's parents forbid it. So the girl, very upset, runs away. Usually through a field, and not just any field, the most beautiful field uv ever seen. And all of a sudden, it starts to rain. There are no clouds. It just starts raining. And she doesn't act like a normal person. What would a normal person do?
"Oh ****, it's raining"
What does she do. She starts singing! And in the middle of all this singing and raining and no clouds and perfect field, the boy appears out of nowhere. And he must have planted a tree. Because there was no tree when she got there and now there is a tree. So their eyes meet, and they run towards each other. And they run, and run, and pass each other. Because instead of running into the arms of the man she loves, she thinks it'll be more fun to play hide and seek with this tree. So she's sitting there just(he does this funny thing you have to see, i'll try to explain it) singing around the tree. And he decides it'll be fun too, so now he starts singing around the tree. So finally, after about half an hour of that, he pulls her close to him. And they get closer and closer, and what does she do? She runs away and starts singing again!
(You have to see the show to comprehend how funny it is. If you search russell peters on google video, you'll get links to some of his stuff. THe excerpt i posted is from his show in NYC)

Cool, Magus. :) I need to find a pic or upload one of mine. I have one of them old fashioned cameras so its a bit of a pain. :p
LOL @ the description of Hindi movies. Oh one more thing.
While the girl and guy are singing and dancing a whole heap of unknown people show up and dance with them. Usually the girl dances in front of the other girls and the guy in front of the group of guys.
Ofcourse sometimes they switch it around. Heheh.
I have to say that some new films have changed that though...
But the rain song, running through a field of flowers or somink and the tree are all standard.
Oh and lets not forget the girl's father who usually causes a major upset for both parties! Hahah.
Ah but I love them..corny as they are.
i luv tom welling

Traveling in a fried-out combie
On a hippie trail, head full of zombie
I met a strange lady, she made me nervous
She took me in and gave me breakfast
And she said,
Do you come from a land down under?
Where women glow and men plunder?
Cant you hear, cant you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover.
Buying bread from a man in brussels
He was six foot four and full of muscles
I said, do you speak-a my language?
He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich
And he said,
I come from a land down under
Where beer does flow and men chunder
Cant you hear, cant you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover.
Lying in a den in bombay
With a slack jaw, and not much to say
I said to the man, are you trying to tempt me
Because I come from the land of plenty?
And he said,
Oh! do you come from a land down under? (oh yeah yeah)
Where women glow and men plunder?
Cant you hear, cant you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover.

Ok, 42 pages and only two brazilians? I've got to recomend kryptonsite to more people...
I'm brazilian, and damn proud of it!!!
But, of course I'm what you guys call mutt... But in here, everyone is a "mutt", so is very weird to say that you're not "pure"? Heck, what is that?
To find "pure breads" in Brazil, is like finding a toothpick in a mountain of hay... (hehe, *pictures Clark trying to find it*)...
So, here's is the list that I could come up to:
- Italian (a lot of...)
- Portuguese (a lot of...)
- Franch
- Spainish (a lot of...)
- Africans
- South-american indians
I'm brunette, and my skin is kinda hard to define, never too white, never too black, I'm a mix... But, that's so normal for me, I actually have a hard time picturing people who are not mutts...
How would they look like? Humm.... :D

I'm some Italian, Swedish, Scottish, and German. My dad refused to name me somthing on the Top 1000000000000000 Most Common Baby Name list because he wanted an "authentic italian name". So when I popped out they named me Gina. ugh. And, oh hey guess what, Gina is spanish! So me, who is a whopping 1/4 Italian, got stuck with a horrendous Spanish name.

Nationality is American, but since the US now recognizes dual citizenship I guess I can also go with Mexican, since I was born there.
Ethnicity is mostly Mexican, but I must have some other stuff in my background because I'm a little fairer than most Mexicans and very few people will walk up to me and start speaking Spanish, but it does happen. It mostly happened in Arizona....
