In another forum there was a thread about if you ever cired watching Smallville, and I wanted to know if anyone has ever cried watching another T.V show?

I have when I watched ER and a main character dies, same with Heratbeat, and other british shows.

No, the last time something made me cry (on TV) was watching the DVD of the movie Pearl Harbor.

Right at the end...you know the part! (Rafe & Danny)

It was right after my Mom died, and I just sat there on the couch crying uncontrollably.

Since then, haven't cried over TV.

It probably is healthier to just let it out...so props to those who do!

Not usually. Really, I'm not a big crier. I might feel really moved by something, but actual tears are rare for me. So, when a movie, or an episode of a TV show does manage to make me cry, it's a big deal. This is why I'm kind of amazed by how often BtVS and ANGEL were able to make me cry.

I am a total sucker for crying at tv shows, i mean i watched like 3 episodes of buffy and then it was that one when she jumped off of the huge tower to close the portal. I cried my eyes out! What else, oh last episode of Ally McBeal was the same kinda thing, i hadn't really watched it but i was crying lol. Other things that im into i cried were when Chloe got ''blown up'' at the end of last season, various Friends episodes, last episode of season 1 of The OC. I think thats it really. lol

I have been known to tear up every now and then! I am man enough to admit it and be ok with it!

The last time a movie compelled me to a FEW tears was about a month ago when I purchased The Star Wars Trilogy. In "Empire Strikes Back" when Luke communicates to Leia via the force on Cloud City and in "Return of the Jedi" when Luke faces his father in the end during the lightsaber duel.
For some reason these scenes touched me. Perhaps it was the emotion compounded with Williams' music. I don't know, but for whatever reason, don't tell anyone that I know.... I have a reputation to keep.
How about you guys? When is the last time yall cried because of a movie or TV and what were you watching?

Very few TV shows have ever made me cry. Buffy is defintely the one that has the most.

I think I have during X-Files here and there.

I've gotta add my vote for BtVS and Angel. BtVS especially had many heart-wrenching scenes, and I challenge anyone not get choked up watching the episode "The Body".

You know, I felt bad for Buffy and Dawn in that episode. My heart was breaking for them because they made the entire thing so real. But it was Anya's speech, about how she just couldn't understand why Joyce couldn't get up and be okay that did me in.

Still, of the two shows, nothing made me cry as hard or as long as ANGEL's "You're Welcome".

I'm not sure why, but Anya's speach was just perfect, was the definitive moment of the episode that broke the dam, so to speak. Was delivered beautifully too, her voice conveying all the right emotions.

just so many btvs and angel moments. I still amazed how well written, directed, and acted these shows were. To make us laugh till it hurt to cry our eyes out.

Anya's speech hit a chord because it something we all feel we lose somebody close to us. Why did this happen? I dont understand? and its stupide. Somehow Joss and Emma Caulfield was able to deliver a speech that was just so accurate.

but then there are happy tears on the show like Xander's special speech to Dawn in Potential or Buffy's Chosen speech in voiceover while the girls get their power. there is so many, and I'm still amazed of the show(probably why I kept updating the Buffy/Angel thread :) ).

i don't tend to cry at anything apart from movies or if i hurt myself really bad, i cried when i broke my arm - but i suppose thats natural lol :p

i never used to cry at movies/ tv but in the past 6 months or so i've cried at almost every dull moment. i cried watching the gift (buffy), you're welcome (angel), two weddings and a funeral (tru calling) and at the end of the 5th HP book (suprisingly not the 6th - i'm not giving away any spoilers).

it's weird that i haven't cried in Smallville though, i suppose nothing has been that sad.

A couple of Buffy/Angel eps have turned me into a bawling little baby.

Passion- made me tear up when Jenny died in season 2 of Buffy.

The Becoming one and two- was sad. Poor Buffy is like seconds too late to save Kendra from Drusilla. And part 2 definately had me bawling where she kills Angel right after he gets his soul, in order to save the world had me crying.

Season 5 Listening to Fear- made me cry when Joyce was a little out of it and was saying very hurtfull things, even though she really didn't mean it. That one made me cry because it was personal for me, it reminded me of my grandma who had senile dementia.

The ep where Buffy and Riley break up had me crying when Buffy runs after the helicopter...if only he would have looked out of the window!!! Argh! I can't remember the name of that ep but it was in season 5.

The Body was hella sad anyone who didn't cry during that one has to be heartless. Willow stressing about the missing shirt had my eyes so blurred with tears I could barely see the tv, along with Anya's speach of course.

The Gift- made me cry when Buffy jumped into the hell portal to save Dawn and the world made me cry, even though I knew Buffy couldn't possibly die because Buffy was coming back on the UPN.

Angel's Hero- made me cry when Doyle died, even though he got to go down like a hero, hence the ep title.

A Hole in The World- was as sad if not sadder than The Body, it was just so sad watching Fred die.:( I'm surprised no body has mentioned that one. It starts out as a fun ep with the Spike/Angel banter, Gun/Wesley banter, etc. etc., then gets darker as it goes on. Fred getting up and dragging herself into the lab to try and save herself and then snaps at Wesley before collasping into his arms and asks him to take her home. Dude, it just goes to tear-jerker city from there.

Everything was sad, from Wesley reading to Fred,
Gun realizing it was his fault,
Fred thinking she had sinned and was being punished,
Angel and Spike realizing that they had no choice but let Fred die,
The last 2 Wesley/Fred scenes are the saddest in Angel history!

I didn't cry actually, I was just too numb with shock of what was happening.

I did cry during Becoming Prt. 2 though. That's the only thing that can make me cry. But, when watching The Body in reruns, Listening to Fear, Passion (I loved Jenny), Chosen, I do get a little teary eyed.

Yes. I did let one tiny tear slip out during the final minutes of "Memoria." I don't know why, but the final scene in the barn just got me. Buffy has made me cry like no other show, though. I did cry a little when Tara died, when Oz left Willow, when Buffy is awarded class protector at her prom, and during parts of the final episode. I cried during the entire episode where Buffy's mother dies. The final two minutes of the Angel episode where Doyle dies had be bawling for about an hour afterwards (that still happens every time!) I can't watch this stuff with other people, its WAY too embarrasing!

I almost never cry during movies, and I can count on my two hands the number of movies that have made me cry. When I do cry during movies, it is when the subject matter hits a little too close to home. I cried during Big Fish, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Dead Poet's Society, Lilo and Stitch (darn kid movies!), and duing the scene at Dunkirk during Atonement.

I NEVER cry during TV shows, with the exception of two Smallville episodes: Reckoning and Vengeance. I just got into Smallville this year. I did not see JK's death coming., and I was shocked to tears at the end of Reckoning and lost it during the scene where Clark helps Martha with her necklace and I cried the whole way through the episode. What a great way to spend a freezing cold and rainy day- shut up in your dorm crying more than a 19 year old should. My roommate walked through and thought something was wrong!

2 times in tv and 2 times in film

-In the 6th season of Scrubs, when Laverne is close to dying, Judy Reyes' performance as she says goodbye to him was one of the most moving performances on TV that I can remember. You can't really help yourself but tear up along with her

-In Lost's third season, when Charlie is hesitating to jump from the boat into the ocean. He knows he's going to die and you can see him sort of seeing his whole life flash before his eyes before he dives in. It just got me for some reason.

-I'm not sure why, but I teared up during the end of Meet Joe Black when Brad Pitt looks around and realizes he's leaving this world for good and Anthony Hopkins does the same.

-My favorite movie of all time is Shawshank Redemption. Every now again I tear up not because of sorrow or anything, but tears of happiness at the ending when Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins reunite on the beach.

-The Notebook still gets me every now and then...I bawled the first time I watched it!

-I've cried many, many times in Smallville history...I own all 8 seasons! I would say the most I've cried during Smallville is definitely when Jonathan died. :(

-Don't even get me started on Marley and Me...

Dude, I cried at Marley & Me in the cinema. Humiliating. lol

I cry at films and tv all. the. time. If I'm watching with others I'll try so hard not to and, like, emotionally detach myself from the characters, lmao. If I'm by myself though, oh Lord, I let it all out . I just get too involved in the storylines and attach myself to characters that I like :o.

Films I always cry at are The Lion King, The Notebook, Titanic and any film involving animals (dogs) that die like Marley & Me and Turner & Hooch, etc. :(. I cried the other night watching The Fountain with Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz. As weird as the film itself was I couldn't not cry towards the end.

Don't remember crying watching The Lion King when I was little (and I was obsessed with this film) but I cry whenever I watch it now. In Smallville, I cried when Jonathan died, got weepy at the end of Vengeance when Clark broke down, and came close to weeping when I watched Abyss for the first time (big Chlark fan).

I don't think I've cried watching other TV shows, though I did get a little weepy when watching the final episode of Friends for the first time. I definitely have with other films.
The first time I ever cried at the cinema was with Marley & Me. Everyone else was crying too, so I didn't feel too silly. Will be even harder to watch it now that I had a similar experience with losing my dog last June, though I do have it on DVD.

Another dog tale I cried at (yes, I'm a particular sucker for these animal films) was Hachi: A Dog's Tale, another true story. I've also cried at the animated film of Watership Down, Black Beauty (1994), Fly Away Home....and I'm sure plenty of other animal films that I've seen. Basically all animal films lol.

I never cried while watching a TV show, but 3 movies made me cry: White Fang when I was a kid (I remember it because my two older sis laughed at me because of that...), King Kong and Titanic. Titanic is the only one who makes me cry every time :(

[edit] Omg I forgot about The Reader!! The only movie who made me cry in a theater...

I cry in the theaters too, no shame!

Marley & Me, Titanic, Ghost, King Kong... to name a few

but the saddest movie ever... The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas

When I was younger, I didn't really cry at movies - in fact, I didn't cry all that much at all. Now I'm most likely to cry. I definitely cried when I saw Titanic. I cry every time I watch the end of the final episode of M*A*S*H.

I get slightly emotional, usually when I watch that film or television show on my own. I think the most recent emotional experience I had with a film or TV show was EastEnders when Ronnie's daughter Danielle died in her arms. So sad...

I dont usualy cry with Tv or movies, but that eastenders scene was just so amazingly done ..... i was bawling my eyes out:o And the fact i still remeber 2 yrs later is proof of that!

So i would say if im crying while watching, its usualy good sign that the movie is good enough to make you feel those emotions potrayed on screen.... unless your crying out of boredom

I cried after reading the end of Y: the last man. I kinda feel like a punk for doing it

definitely I do as I believe a movie (http://www.moviesfunzone.com/) is not worth watching if we can't attach with it emotionally. I cried at the climax of black swan when Natalie got dead. It was so painful to watch her like that.

It's very odd. I never used to cry but it's only been within recent years that I've become such a sap.

I think I will on Friday, May 13th, 2011.
Parts of me are excited and then there's this feeling of loss...
I am not looking forward to the tears, but I know some of them will be happy, too. :(

It all depends on the actors' performance for me and how they convey their emotions to the scene.
