Read the whole book in a day, a week or so ago, the movie is going to be awesome.....but recommend to everyone, to stay clear of the book until you've seen the movie, as I really regret reading it now...........

I don't know about that, I don't think so.
Does anyone have all of the promotional stuff from when episode I came out. I have all of the cans except for the Yoda gold can. I have alot of the pogs and cups from Taco Bell, I have the magazines and a few toys. but those pepsi product cans were the best. I have the Kellogs box, and the pepsi and Sierra mist with Darth Vader on them. I want to get the big Pez despenser with Darth Vader.

Soundtrack came out today, so i got myself a copy. The bonus DVD was neither boring nor interesting. it was simply a montage of Star Wars footage played with J. Will's music. Of course the music rocked. the only part i waas interested was the part with epIII footage in it. saw Yoda get knocked back by the Emperor's force lightning. but most of the footage was from the epIII trailer, so nothing new.
As for the soundtrack, the music is frighteningly dark. especially in "Padme's Ruminations". There aren't any huge new themes besides the "Battle of the Heroes" theme. The rest of it is just themeless background music. The last track with the End Credits was disappointing for me. The transitions into the different themes was clumsy and awkward but somehow it ultimately works. it brought back the "Throne Room" theme, which was an old skool theme that i didn't want to hear. As good as that theme was, it was alrdy used in epIV so i wasn't interested. i wanted something new.
BUT,
the soundtrack overall was an enjoyable listen. i'd get it if yer a J. Will fan or if yer collecting the soundtracks.
My two fav tracks are "Battle of the Heroes" and "Anakin vs Obi-Wan"

Earth was mentioned in a comic book a while back. It was kinda a joke at least I think so.
Ya yall know how "A long time ago in a galaxy far far away..."
Well in the comic book Im talking about Chewy and Han Solo(wayyyy after the events of episode VI) end up on Earth in 1800's long time ago remember? lol So anyways Han ends up getting killed by friggin Indians!!! LOL Chewy being a wookie and all lives his days out in a cave with Han's remains and later, GUESS WHO ARRIVES, Indiana friggin Jones finds Chewy and Han's remains. LOL Like I said it was kinda a joke at least I think it was but it was a REAL comic.

heres the thing, epII music is available on the epII soundtrack, not on the epIII soundtrack. it turns out wat yer lookin for is track 11 on the ep2 soundtrack entitled "The Tusken Camp and The Homestead". so to answer your question, No epIII soundtrack doesn't have that song that played in episode II when Anakin snapped and killed that whole village for killing his mother.:p

Yah, but the Epi II soundtrack bit as much as the movie did, all but that one song. I was hoping they'd use it again, kind of like as Anakins "turning" song or somthing.

OMG! You just do not know. I was freaking out while watching that. That trailer completely rocked. I honestly became emotional while watching the Ani and Padmé scenes (I'm a romantic, so of course). Honestly that was the best part during Smallville, lol! I hope that trailer is released soon in Quicktime. :)

I agree the EP III soundtrack was a bit of a letdown. Mainly the end credits music.
The rest is classic John Williams/Star Wars, but the end was a drawn out rendition of the Throne Room theme.

It takes a while to load for me, but it does load. For some reason it loads up the whole thing before actually playing it, unlike most QT which loads a bit at a time.

The film is gonna be the best ever!!!
Anybody want any cheat codes for the ROTS game? Completed the game, as played it solid all day the Saturday after it came out!! Started all over again, as it's soooooo good.
Anakin is wicked to use, but Darth Vader is ace in verses mode.
Fantastic game, with an alternative ending, which would of made for an interesting ep's 4,5, & 6.........
10/10 for ROTS;
10/10 for Lego star wars......surprisingly good, mean as I bought it for my son, but never put it down until I finished it!! My son wasn't to happy.........
9.5/10 for the book;
The movie will be 10000/10 for sure.
Gotta be most anticipatingly awaited film in history man...

Instead of falling into the pit Anakin jumps over obi-wan and impales him. Then the emperor congradulates anakin and gives him his new weapon (red saber) and says "The universe is ours." Anakin smiles but flicks the saber on and throws it through palpatine saying "The universe belongs to me," and the clone troopers just stare....
pretty intresting to think about the SW universe if this actually happened.

Actually, it was the best connection between the two trilogies, to the every single detail. The "plot-holes" are all answered on the Clone Wars, from R2 being Anakin's astrodroid, CP30 having the golden plating, why Greivous was weak and hurt, etc.
Now, can someone please tell Lucas not to write the dialogues? They were all so cliche... Oh, Ani, hold me.

I enjoyed the movie a lot! It was much better than ep1 and ep2, tied up a lot of loose ends, special effects were spectacular, action packed, the dialogue was... Lucas dialogue (nuff said) but I did enjoy the conversations of Anakin and Palpatine. The beginning was a little corny, trying to be funny, but I'll let that go. Overall, I give it a B+.
They did show the trailer for the Chronicals of Narnia, I'm not familiar with that story, but it looked cool. I'm hyped for Batman Begins, looks awesome!

I went at Midnight last night with a bunch of my friends. The movie was great, my only complaint being most of the dialogue between Padme and Anakin (Hold me...like you did on Naboo! Please...). Other than that the lightsaber fights were amazing, the space battle at the beginning was fantastic.
Overall I'd give it an A- simply because George Lucas seemed to finally get his stuff together for the last act.

Absolutely loved it! Everything about it I loved! :)
Saw the movie at midnight and I loved it!! :D So sad, and just a great experience.
On a random note--I was so freaking thrilled to get this email from one of my customers in Austria. I made her a Padme lake dress to wear and OMG-- look what happened to her. I'll post the pics as soon as I have them :D
well what can I say... I just arrived home, I haven't slept in two days and will fall asleep, deadly, in a few minutes, but I wanted to send you this first... As you might know, George Lucas and Crew were in Berlin on May 17th for the premier. In short words, I won a costume contest and got tickets for the premier... We were allowed to walk the Red Carpet (see pic) and meet GL and Crew personally then... You see me having the most wonderful day of my life here? I don't know how ever to thank you for making this possible... You did such an incredible work with this dress! And you can be more than proud here... Hayden's comment was "love your dress", George saw me trembling like hell when I gave him that autograph book and smiled: "Don't be nervous, you're a princess..." Now is that a compliment for your dress? I'm still so stunned and all that I can't find any words here... I'll try another day, when I calmed down... Right now I just wanted to thank you. I know that you're not updating yuor satisfied customer section often recently, but if you come around, I think you can proudly put those comments there- you earn them more than anyone ;). I'll also send you the picture of Hayden and me for that section as soon as I get it. lucas.com did it, and the guy is still on tour, so it might take a while *hope not* I'll keep you updated here.

I'm not the kind of person who likes raining on people's parade, so this is going to be short and I don't plan to elaborate.
I grew up with the original trilogy. I loved them. I learned to work the VCR before I learned to work the volume control on the television. I used to wake my parents up from downstairs at 6 in the morning to Darth Vader as a little boy.
I read every review of Episode III that I could get my hands on. Every single one of them said that it was not only good, but pretty much excellent. It was the best of the prequels and some even said it was better than Return of the Jedi.
Like I said above, I'm not going to elaborate because I hate it when people take movies that I loved and just trash it and so I'm not going to be one of those people myself.
In the end, after seeing Episode III, two words came to mind: TRAIN WRECK.
I could not have possibly hated that film more. I'm done.

Well, i don't want to spoil it. If no one minds, i'll post tomorrow with a spoiler tag, but if there is any problems i figured id follow k-sotes standard spoiler rule for smallville eppies, wait a week, and by then most should have seen it.
But basically, without giving any plot away, if there was one to even give away, it felt too rushed. THe whole movie takes place over the span of two or three days, if that. NP and HC had zero chemistry. It's like they were married, got divorced three years ago, but are still trying to pretend they're a happy couple. THe action and effects were fine, but the plot was non existant. YOu could vaguely guess the plot, provided you had knwoledge fo the OT, but if you havent seen the ot, or arent that big of a star wars fan, it's too hard to follow. You only get generalities, no development or growth from anyone, especially anakin. And that's the biggest problem of all, he's the one who's supposed to evolve the most, and i saw HC regress into Jake Lloyd.
But i'll get real specific late, after everyone's had a chance to see it.

I just got back from seeing the movie, and I thought it was the best one so far. I don't know how anyone could hate it, but to each his own, I suppose. This had the best fight scenes of any movie I've ever seen, including the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
The movie didn't take place over a few days, and if you pay attention to Padme's "condition" you would realize that. Nothing felt rushed to me, and it was a great movie. I'm not the sort of fan that goes to the movies and screams at the screen when I see the wrong tail number on one of the X-wings, though, so I may be more forgiving than others on the board.
I also noticed that the Millenium Falcon (or a ship identical to it) made a brief appearance in the film, and if you look for it, you can catch it.
Also, the trailers they showed in my theater were:
Mr. and Mrs. Smith ==>I'm too tired of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt from the Supermarket Tabloids to want to see this movie.
Chronicles of Narnia ==>Looks good.
Fantastic Four ==>Looks good.
Batman Begins ==>Looks great!

I thought Episode III was awesome! It is by far the best of the prequels. Even though I really liked Episode III I'm sad for a few reasons (A) This is it no more Star Wars movies! Which totally sucks! (B) The movie itself was pretty sad and (C) It just makes me sad that George Lucas couldn't get his act together for Episodes I and II like he did for this one. If only those would have been half as good as this one we'd all be a lot happier. I agree with HalJordan4184 that Episode III was a little rushed though. That is completely Lucas's fault! I read in the latest Entertainment Weekly that in his mind Lucas had 60% of the story for the prequels being in Episode III and the other 40% in Episodes I and II, so obviously 20% for those a piece, so that means there was a lot of filler for the first two. That is very apparent because those 2 pretty much suck. Since Lucas left so much of the story for Episode III he filmed way too much and had to cut back on it a lot. I really don't think he thought this out that well, what he should have done was combine Episodes I and II into one movie and spread Episode III out over two movies. That would have made things a lot better and that way the story that was shown in Episode III would have more time to develop. It really just pisses me off that Lucas basically wasted two movies when if he had used his head he could have figured out something like I just suggested or something even better. If you get a chance pick up that Entertainment Weekly (has Anakin on it) George Lucas pretty much comes of as a big egoistical, selfish, jerk, which if some of the stuff he said in there is true he really seems like that. Despite me being upset about the stuff just mentioned, I was still pretty much happy with Episode III. Go see it!

I have to say this, it's a completely diferent experience seeing Episode III after the Clone Wars cartoons. Everything that happens in the movie comes from the Clone Wars, to the single little detail (characters interaction, story plot, everything). It looked like Clone Wars is the first part of the movie and Episode 3 the second.
So, the Clone Wars is a "must see".

There were a couple of things that bothered me, The fact that Yoda gave up to the Emperor and went into hiding. When Darth first got up and yelled "noooooooo" :\ that was kind of lame. I felt so bad for Padme, one of her last memories was being choked to death by her lover.

There was a reason for that, his opportunity just passed on and there was no way he could fight against the Empire alone, being a Jedi. That's why he and Obi-Wan forced themselves into the exile (the twins being the other reason).

One thing I've been thinking about now after seeing Episode III is how the Emperor told Vader that he (Vader) had killed Padme. So in the originial triology now it doesn't make sense that Vader isn't confused about how Luke Skywalker is alive. They did add some new lines in the 2004 DVD release of the original triology where Vader is talking to the Emperor. The Emperor says that the one they're looking for must be Luke Skywalker, the offspring of Anakin Skywalker. Vader comments on how can that be true and all the Emperor says is to search you feelings. Now telling Vader that he had killed Padme makes sense because then Vader wouldn't go searching for his kid and would now have nothing left expect to serve the Emperor. Yet it doesn't make sense in how I mentioned, like why wouldn't Vader grill the Emperor on how his son was alive? But it would have been hard to come up with another story because then Vader would have searched for Padme or his kid. I guess there really was no way to deal with that. Does anyone have any ideas of something better Lucas could have come up with to solve this problem?

Lucas should have gotten more help in the previous 2 films. The 3rd is pretty good...possibly better than Empire. The FX is great...better than all other films in the series combined.
the light saber battles are also much better. they are faster. the phantom menace had real fighting....in this one they probably used a lot of cgi and camera tricks.
Also, it had a good story and everything made sense.
You could watch 1 to 6 and be very satisfied.
I hope lucas doesn't mess with the originals anymore.

The fight between Vader & Luke isn't even 2/10 compared to Anakin V Obi-Wan, just for starters.
There were more saber fights (or better at least) than the rest of the episodes.
The best part of the whole saga IS probably Vader telling Luke he is his father, but for action galore (& yes I am an action fanatic) Episode III has the whole package.

Okay, so the movie aspect fo it sucked, btu the specil effect and fights were good, so the movie is thebest becaue of the effects?
The plot and dialogue are what make a movie. Just because the action was good, does not mean a quality movie was made. The plot and dialogue are big parts of a movie. Star wars is a saga. Not a series of fights on tape. It has a mythology to it. One GL likes to disregard and change over as he sees fit.

I've heard that GL may make a follow-up to Return of the Jedi. It was on that VH1 show "When Star Wars Ruled the World", I think. The line was "Episode 3 will probably be the last Star Wars movie George Lucas makes, but I wouldn't bet on it."
I've heard the same thing about Indiana Jones as well, so take it with a grain of salt.
UPDATE: I just read that Lucas has announced that he is working on a new Indiana Jones movie, but the Star Wars franchise is done (he said the story is about the life of Darth Vader, so there is no more story to tell). I guess that answers that, then. Too bad.

The plot and dialogue are what make a movie.
AND the acting... AND the way it is shot... AND the music...
Music emphasizes the drama that is being shown, which Williams is usually great at, but pretty much dropped the ball in Episode III.
The WAY something is shot also emphasizes the drama of what is being shown, and if you ask me almost every single camera angle was completely wrong for what was taking place. The only camera work that was done particularly well was during the opening sequence... which was frickin' inspired it was so good.
The acting... well, I won't say anything. The acting speaks for itself. Although, I will say that Lucas instructs his actors to act a certain way. So, I can't place all the blame on them.
But I do agree that the writing and the plot are the big chunks. And most of the plot was bad and almost all of the writing was bad.
I'm sorry, I promised not to be a killjoy. I'm just still angry three days later.

IMO action shouldnt dictate how good a movie is. There needs more substance to me.
Luke and Vader is a totally different emotional level then Ben and Anakin. The prequels or the technology wasnt available to them. A Luke wasnt a full Jedi yet lol. IMO its not fair comparsion because it was a different time and place when both of these fights were taken place
Different time of technology and everything. For some reason it seems like a jaded comparsion.

Personally, I thought it was the best of all prequels. When comparing it to the originals I dont believe its a fair comparsion. I watched it with my siblings. Oh, Ewan looked great :D.
Good points:
-the point when all the Jedi fell. That was so sad, and the younglings were killed as well. So sad :(.
-when Padma named her children
-love that they put more Bail Organa in the movie. You can tell certain aspects of Leia are like her adoptive father.
-fighting was decent and defenitiely showed how Anakin does not think when he fights especially at Musfar. By showing the different styles of Ben and Anakin I thought was neat.
-the debate on politics between Ben and Anakin
-Emperor establishing the Galatic Empire was excellent. Some aspects mirrored Hitler especially in the emergency Senate.
-Yoda was better, and he felt like the Yoda I grew up with.
-Chewie :D.
-R2D2 was the robot :D.
-3PO all done was nice to see.
-I saw Tarkin and the Falcon :)
-I loved how they used Organa's ship exactly in ANH was a super-geeks dream lol.
-I loved how they put Duel of the Fates music in there
-the funeral of Padma :(
-the ending I loved as well
-To me Vadar never scared me, but the Emperor always did. IMO the prequels showed how evil the Emperor was. I really liked that aspect of the prequels.
Bad Points:
-some things were taken out of continuity of course..oh, well to be expected
-some lines were laughable especially Vadar's "Noooo" he looked funny lol

Yes... that's fine and good... but look at your argument and follow the logic. You say that the acting is good. You say that anyone who disagrees is wrong. They are wrong because they don't know anything about acting. In other words, you're smart and so we should all just take your word for it because if we disagree then we must be admitting to not knowing about acting.
Perhaps that's not what you meant, but that IS what you said.
And, yes, we all understand how much work there is involved in it. I'm not saying they didn't work hard. I'm not saying George Lucas didn't work hard. I credit them for working so hard. I simply think all that hard work added up to a steaming pile of hard work and not good acting.
Honestly, we can praise them with a thousand awards shows, but if they bomb we're not allowed to criticize them because they "tried really really hard"? Nope. Not how it works.

If you go to a movie intent on being a movie critic and analyze the finer points like dialogue, then no movie would be very good. I thought It was a good movie because it was fun to watch.
By the way, is it true that the guy that play C3PO is the only guy to be in all 6 movies? The actor that played Palpatine wasn't in the first one (episode IV), was he?

How is that even remotely in the general vicinity of true? If that were the case, no film critic would ever like any movie. You can criticize and analyze movies. That's how critics determine which ones are good and which aren't... and more importantly, WHY they are good or not.

But anyway, back to starwars....

Then why do they call the people who get paid for it film critics? Roger Ebert is a film critic. That's his job. He's not a film reviewer.

After Ben vs. Anakin fight. After Anakin is burned, and Ben is just saying "YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE!!". When he turns around he picks up Anakin's lightsaber. The exact same lightsaber Old Ben gave to Luke in A New Hope :). It the same one :D.

ROTS was one kick ass movie. Definitely the best of the prequels. my fav scene was Yoda vs. Emperor. Gen. Grievous was a disappointment for me, mostly because i expected big things from him, such as a lotta jedi killing, but i didn't get any of dat in the movie. Vader doin his 'lil "dance" and screaming "NooOOoo!" was the funniest(and worst) moment in the film. i was disappointed by how Mace Windu's death, i was hoping he'd die by lightsaber. Like the other prequels, the acting was still a little shaky, however, the dialogue was somewhat better. Padme had no will to live!?!...wtf...lame excuse for her to die.
now, to the good points in the movie. All the lightsaber battles were top-notched. The space battle was an excellent way to start the movie because it provided intense action immediately. The film was an average film until the death of Mace Windu and Anakin's pledge to Palpatine. From there, it turned emotional, dark, and intense. The most emotional scene was the clone troopers killing off the jedi.
9.85/10 - acting just didn't do it for me...but overall an amazing film.

I went to see this movie with low expectations. And even though my expectations were low. I was still disappointed. Natalie Portman is a pretty young lady.
The acting was better in this movie than the other 2 prequel movies.
The story was... what story???
The movie was LOUD... I actually got bored in parts of it. Some of the dialouge was... unoriginal and bad.
I have no desire to ever see this movie again. And I am glad that the Star Wars movies are finally over!!!

I went to see Revenge today and the theater was really cold too, but the movie was incredible and sad. Though Samuel L. Jackson is good actor, he wasn't very good in this.
As far as the Phantome Menace parts of it were boring. But When Qui Con Gin was on screen it was awesome. I think that Liam Neesan is a great actor and he carried the movie.
Jar Jar binks is what ruined this movie for me. The ending of The Phantom Menade was awesome, though. The fight between Qui Con, Obi One, and Darth Maul was a classic Star Wars scene along with the battle scenes. Otherwise the movie was a dud.
The Clone Wars is the one I really didn't like. Of course the battle between and Yoda and Ct. Dookoo was another classic Star Wars movie. The diologue was unbearable.

The whole prequel trilogy was boring. Lots of action doesn't make a movie good. I really liked the depth of Episodes IV - VI. The whole story of redemption was so wonderfully done in the original trilogy.
In the prequel trilogy, the whole loss of Anakin's mom was done terrible. They had to tell us about the fear of loss of Padme and Anakin's mom were related. They even had to spell it out in Revenge of the Sith. There was no creativity to the prequels. Talk about terrible writing on Lucas's part.

I generally agree with you, though I did really, really enjoy ROTS, and I will see it many more times in the theatre. TPM was really really boring, especially watching it now. ATOC was a decent set-up, but in reality the first two films could've been combined into one.
I am also appalled at the horrendous dialogue from the prequels, but I will accept it, and enjoy the movies for what they are, Star Wars. Though if given the choice, any day of the week, I would watch the OT over, and over, and over, and over...
The OT was miles above the PT. Special fx does not a movie make, but decent acting, great dialogue (Han Solo), and gritty realities. :) And NOTHING beats puppet YODA! :D

It's part of The Force, and IMO, how it's used determines what kind of power it is.
Luke wasn't using the power to kill the guards-so it wasn't really a Sith power in that case, he was just using his skills with the Force as a Jedi Knight.
In the case of Vader, well, he uses the Force-choke for a method of kill, so that's definately a Sith power.

lucas has stated in the past that the choke is like a variant of the grab, like when picking up a lost lightsaber, only the focus is slightly different.
the only "dark side" power that lucas says a jedi will never use is lightning.
while on the light side of the force there are powers similar to the lightning, that will incapacitate an oponent, it wont physically injure him, its more like a focused mind trick used to stun the adversary's mind/nervous system

It's more the intent that determines whether your actions are light or dark. He did Force Choke the guards, but didn't kill them, merely incapacitated them so he could get by. A Force Push would have worked as well.

But they never make it clear if they live or not. They never show the pig things again. I just figured that luke can use both sides of the force but still be good. He's so intuned with the force that he can use sith powers without beign corrupted. Thats always what i thought but i could be wrong.

well, Lucas has said that the only reason Luke is able to defeat Vader in ROTJ even though the match is unevenly matched giving the advantage highly to Vader, is the fact that Luke was able to channel the dark side to help him as well when he became angry at Vader after the mention of his sis.
He also states that in that instant, he is the first Jedi to use both sides of the force since the early Jedi who used to study both sides (until the dark side corrupted a few and it was deemed too dangerous to continue studying it).

as for the pig-men, they dont even show them falling, just going back a little, so i really doubt they die, they just surrender to the force.

I didn't even bother to read the link but the only reason Anakin turned to the Dark Side was to save Padama (spelling is bad) because of his vision but with him letting his anger gain control of him he become Darth Vader.
His anger was resulted from Mother's death, keeping his love a secret, jedi council not trusting him and the want to become the best jedi in the universe

Anakin also made bad choices. But Revenge of the Sith also made the Jedi look bad too. They didn't seem any better than the Sith. Oh, I didn't like what Lucas did in Revenge of the Sith... He almost ruined the whole series. I have to now think of the original trilogy as being seperate from the prequel trilogy... Grrr.
