You gotta love the fact that in those two pictures they're holdin' the exact same lightsaber...the one Old Ben gives to Luke on Tatooine when he begins his training as a Jedi...the one Luke loses in his fight with Vader in ESB. I have to ask though, did Anakin build this one or was it given to him by Qui Gonn? Wait...doesn't Obi-Wan have Qui Gonn's lightsaber...having lost his own in the fight with Darth Maul and using Qui Gonn's to finish the fight? Yeah, I think that's right...Anakin built the one he and Luke use and Obi Wan "inherited" Qui Gonn's. Both were blue...and the one Luke builds for himself (the one he uses in RoTJ)....is green....like Yoda's.

Well, it does make sense. Leah knew to give the message to R2 and R2 knew where to find Obi-Wan. R2 may not have known that Yoda was on Degobah though. He didn't act like he recognized him when they met. Then again, that could have just been R2's "feisty" personality.

3PO's memory would have had to have been wiped. He's too much of a chatterbox and his loyalty to his creator (Anakin) would have been impossible to overcome. R2, however, was Padme's droid (in a sense), so his 1st loyalty would have been to her and her children. R2 was the one that save Padme from certain death in AOTC.

Ok..there are no books as of yet that take place between Eps 3 and 4, although they are in the works. For a look at the future check out www.jedinet.com. It has a future listing under books there.

As for after Episode 6...take your pick. The most famous is the Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn. Many consider that trilogy to be what Lucas could base EPs 7-9 on, should he ever change his mind.

Zahn's books were amazing and Thrawn is one of my favorite chararcaters in all of the Star Wars universe. Also, the Noghri are very cool and I loved how they addressed Leia......Lady Vader...so cool.:cool:

I think the titles were: Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, and The Last Command.

Thrawn was awesome to read. I loved it from beginning to end. I loved the book when Chewie died, and then Anakin Solo died. Happy moments when Ben Skywalker was born, and when Luke was able to heal his wife. Luke establishing the Jedi Academy when Kyp Durron became evil. Jaina going to the darkside was cool to read. I still think Jaina is going to hook-up with Kyp :D.

Yesterday at ShoWest, the focus was on 3D and there was an impressive panel of guests to talk about it. A big surprise was the announcement by George Lucas that he is planning to release the entire saga in 3D for for the 30th anniversary in 2007.

Just found out some easter eggs from blueharvest.net :)

Numbers like 1138 and 2187 get cycled through out the movies. Aparently 1138 was GL's first THX movie.

GL also uses some of these easter eggs on Indiana Jones. There is supposed to be a club Obi-Wan in one of the Indy movies.

Padme/Natalie is proof that some women are even more beautiful when they are that way.

Except that Padme/Natalie isn't ACTUALLY pregnant in that photo. She's just Natalie with a prop stuck under her dress. I work in a baby furniture store and can tell you for a fact that most women gain more weight than just around the midsection. It tends to be part of the deal.

That all being said, I share the belief that many women get a sort of "glow" to them when they are pregnant. It's hard to describe, but many pregnant women really do look like they popped (no pun intended) right out of an episode of Touched By an Angel with the whole glowing light angelic thing.

I got the Volume 1 dvd...and I liked it, but now that the 12 minute versions are playing, I like them alot better...it gets you more engrossed in the story then the 3 minute short did. I liked seeing the more brotherly relationship between Anakin and Obi-Wan too. I don't think we've seen that enough especially after hearing Obi-Wan talking about it in episode 4.

I heard that Timothy Zahn was writing two new Star Wars books, and the first one dealt with Mara and Luke finding Outbound Flight. I read it, maybe a year ago (I'm not sure). The second one, I hear, is about the actual flight of Outbound Flight (is that what is was called?). I don't know where to go for information on Star Wars fiction. Sometimes I head by Star Wars.com, but I usually end up in some other section and other times I go to Amazon.com and, again, I get distracted.

Those spoiler pictures are messing with me. I'm seriously stoked about this movie.

Question, though... If Episode III takes place when Luke and Leia are just born, and the Death Star is already starting to be built, that means it must take them like 20 years to build the Death Star... right?

But then in the OT, how long did it take them to build the second Death Star? Didn't it take them a lot less time?

I guess what I'm asking is, what am I missing? Was the second Death Star already being constructed before the first one was destroyed? Did they simply learn a lot from building the first one and were able to get the second one up and running a lot faster? Was the first one around already for a while before New Hope, just never used?

I thought it was so fast because they have better technology throughout the ages, and they knew what worked and didnt work with it. So it was easier to built the second time. They just made sure the weapons were already operational.

Peter, I'm not a moron...I know that the Death Star was in EP. 2. And no the Death Star does not have to be in Ep. 3 to connect the new to old trilogy. Why would you think that? There's 20 years between movies. Thats a huge time frame to deal with so its not necessary to have the Death Star in it. I didn't even know it was until you posted the pic.

My concerns were the same as BG's? Why would it take so long to build the first one? That's what I'm figuring out...Summer's comment was decent but I don't totally buy it.

Yeah I got more of Mara, I'm afraid not, Jacen, Jaina,Anakin Solo are in the EU = Expanded Universe and weren't even born yet. (I have pictures of the solo children on the books covers, but I don't have any pics of them like Mara. (Mara Jade was in ROTJ so she was in one of the Star Wars movies.) (So she just wasn't in the EU, she in her own little way is a part of The OT.)

I figured with the first DS they had to do it covertly there for could not draw as many resources that fast or it would be obvious. But then again I guess if the droids are building it does it really matter?

We have to remember the death star is about the size of a small moon with enough power to take out an entire planet with one zap.

Like Summer stated the second one was built pretty fast because they already knew how to build it. But to build it the first time I'm sure too a lot longer. We will most likely see just a basic structure in Episode III..... enough of something for us to know what it is.

Has anyone played those old Star Wars video games? When I was little I thought the bike chase in Endor was one of the toughest level.

Some of the training runs in TIE Fighter were pretty intense. I loved that game for the PC. Oh and the Hoth mission on Shadows of the Empire for the N64 was sweet. I also liked it when someone you shot fell off a ledge and screamed like a b**** as they dropped to their doom. Very satisfying.

soul caliber was originally on dreamcast but soulcalibur II was on every major platform, PS2 GC and the box. not sure if they ever did a PC version. and that would make for an awesome game to use their engine with all the jedi and characters from the star wars universe but it seems like they have tried something similar already.

episode 3 doesnt end when 4 begins, theres a 20 year gap in between, where luke and leia grow up.

the time frame of this movie is no different than that of any other star wars movie according to Lucas, and since he has stated that he never wants to use time laps or jumps(whatever you may call them), the movie would have to last a few years to reach the point of ANH :)

He even considered painting it but decided that having it look old was effective in keeping the Imperial force thinking it was really a piece of junk and not worth pursuing.

Yep... in the last book of the series "The Rebel Dawn" Han takes the Falcon to the top hyperdrive person who supes it up so that the Falcon can run at point 5 past light speed. The Falcon already had a military hyperdrive... but now it's even faster. With his winnings from playing in the big sabacc tournament he was able to put on better armor plating.. upgrade the sensors, shields, jamming systems, installed a light blaster cannon, concussion missle launchers, quad laser turrets and a getaway blaster under the belly of the ship (was used in A New Hope).

Love the old and new versions. I have both. The old on VHS and the new on DVD. I like all the new little critters added and when Han steps on Jabba's tail.... the look on Jabba's face.

After the Lando series then I'll order the Han Solo Adventures. And then I'll start on the books right after RoTJ and Heir to the Empire.

It starts out with Palpatine talking to Anakin about the powers of the Dark Side, and how he can't learn them from a Jedi. The trailer is pretty amazing. I can't wait to see this film.
