That is interesting. Could be a metaphor Lucas put into the film.

Indeed. I think he did. It make's sense (The Prequel Trilogy ) is The Rise & Fall of Anakin Skywalker. While (The Original Trilogy & EU) is The Rise Of Luke Skywalker & The Return Of The Jedi.

I was watching Episode II on FOX just now. I haven't seen it in a while.
When I first saw it, I was just happy to see Star Wars. I didn't pay attention to things like acting or dialogue, because it's frickin' Star Wars. I couldn't understand what they were saying in the originals half of the time either - I just watched, amazed by what a genius George Lucas was for creating this amazing universe.
This time around, the acting is pretty bad. I saw the scene in Padme's Coruscant home where Obi-Wan chastises Anakin. The dialogue itself wasn't unsalvageable, but the delivery - especially on Hayden's part - didn't come off the way it should have.
And then in other parts, the writing IS horrible and no amount of acting ability can save it.
But the action scenes, like the chase through Coruscant, or the Jedi battle at the end are still terrific and dammit, make the movie worthwhile.

I rewatched EP2 as well, and confessionally it was far worse than I imagined. The acting was bad due to the dialogue, directing, and delievring. It wasn't just Hayden, but also Lee was terrible.
The action scenes were always good, Padme looking very much like Leia in some scenes, and Jango/Boba Fett.
I do love me some Jango/Boba sequences.

From www.jedinet.com. These books are post-RoTJ, and take place some years after The New Jedi Order series.
Sue Rostoni, the Managing editor, fiction & comic editor, Lucasfilm Licensing has updated her blog at the Official Site to provide actual release dates for the Legacy of the Force 9-book series, to start in May 2006.
Book 1 - Betrayal by Aaron Allston (Hardcover): 5/30/06
Book 2 - Bloodlines by Karen Traviss (Mass market): 8/29/06
Book 3 - Tempest by Troy Denning (Mass market): 11/28/06
Book 4 - by Aaron Allston (Mass market): 3/06/07
Book 5 - by Karen Traviss (Hardcover): 6/05/07
Book 6 - by Troy Denning (Mass market): 9/04/07
Book 7 - by Aaron Allston (Mass market): 11/06/07
Book 8 - by Karen Traviss (Mass market): 3/04/08
Book 9 - by Troy Denning (Hardcover): 6/03/08
Sue Rostoni, who posts using the name Eeusu Estornii, also provided some additional information about the series:
Something so major and incendiary will occur during the Legacy of the Force series that we cannot even mention what it is...
A devastating war threatens the galaxy.
A dangerous destiny summons Jacen Solo.
A dark enemy stalks the Jedi.
This follows on from the look we were given at the cover of the first book in the series, Betrayal, earlier this week which included information about the book:
When a mission to uncover an illegal missile factory on the planet Adumar ends in a violent ambush -- from which Jedi Knight Jacen Solo and his protégé and cousin, Ben Skywalker, narrowly escape with their lives -- it's the most alarming evidence yet that sparks of political unrest are threatening to ignite into total rebellion. The governments of numerous worlds are chafing under the strict regulations of the Galactic Alliance, and diplomatic efforts to enforce compliance are failing. Fearing the worst, the Alliance readies a preemptive display of military might in a bid to bring the rogue worlds to heel before an uprising erupts. The designated target of this exercise: planet Corellia -- renowned for the brash independence and renegade spirit that have made its favorite son, Han Solo, a legend.
Something of a rogue himself, Jacen is nevertheless duty bound as a Jedi to stand with his uncle, Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, on the side of the Galactic Alliance. But when the wary Corellians launch a counterstrike, the Alliance's show of force -- and a secret mission to disable Corellia's crucial Centerpoint Station -- give way to an armed skirmish. Once the smoke clears, the battle lines are drawn. Now the specter of full-scale war looms between a growing cadre of defiant planets and the Galactic Alliance that some fear is becoming a new Empire. And even as both sides struggle to find a diplomatic solution, mysterious acts of treachery and sabotage threaten to doom peace efforts at every turn.
Determined to root out those behind the mayhem, Jacen follows a trail of cryptic clues to a dark rendezvous with the most shocking of revelations... while Luke grapples with something even more troubling: dream visions of a shadowy figure whose Force power and ruthlessness remind him of Darth Vader -- a lethal enemy who strikes like a dark spirit on a mission of doom. An agent of evil who, if Luke's visions come to pass, will bring untold pain to the Jedi Master... and to the entire galaxy.
I'm hooked just by the synposis of this new series. Having a new villian that Luke dreams about. Jacen now a mentor to his younger cousin. I love the expanded universe :D.

This is how:
When you're approaching the cannon to destroy the Jedi Starfighters, take your time. Pound away at the Jedi with standing light/quick combos. They'll block them for the most part. This will fill your meter. Once you get to masterful dispense with the pleasantries and kill the ones right in front of you and then make a mad dash for the cannon. Hop in before your masterful goes away and you'll have it the entire time you're in the gunner seat. You'll get a masterful for every fighter you shoot down and for every Jedi you blast. Again, take your time, blast as many Jedi as you can.

My question is I wasn't able to unlock one character in the Versus section. I got up to Old Ben in the lineup to play in the versus section, but the one after Ben is still blank.
What level, or what do you do to unlock last person in the versus section? It just says "random" on it right now .

I played it a while ago, but I'm pretty sure Obi-Wan is the last unlockable character for versus mode. The random icon just randomely selects a character for you to use Summers.

This week they released the Original Trilogy on dvd this week. Does anyone know the difference between the trilogy released this week compared to the original trilogy released two years ago?

In my opinion No, the only thing that's good is The episodes .
Their not that many special Features.
Their's
"Connecting the Dots" featurette is a short documentary, it's very much like Vol. 1 "Bridging the Saga"featurette.
There are also two full galleries of concept art, promotional posters, storyboards and sketches, plus a playable Xbox demo and trailer for Star Wars Battlefront II video game and the trailer for the upcoming Star Wars Empire at War.
Their's also the original theatrical trailer for Revenge of the Sith.
And the full-length Revenge Of The Brick Lego movie.

"According to PageSix.com, Hayden Christensen who is currently shooting "Awake" with actress Jessica Alba, was leaving his trailer to do a scene when he was approached a fan. But instead of asking for a autograph, the fan yelled, "You ruined the 'Star Wars' movies!"
Onlookers said that Christensen later "chased the guy down the street and scared him away".

Hayden didn't Ruin The STAR WARS movies.
Episode II was the episode in The Saga that sucked (In which Hayden sucked , due to Dialogue & the story) .
But He kicked MEGA ass in Episode III (Which he gave a SUPER Preformance).

right here's a couple of questions for you star wars buffs
how much powerful (without his tragic accidents) would Anakin have been?
In Empire Strikes Back when Han Solo shoots Vader before he takes the gun off him Han shoots him how does he stop the shot with his hand?
Why can't he have force lightning?

I'm sorry for sounding like an idiot, but I've never seen a Star Wars movie and I have forever wanted too, plus so many people would say I would enjoy it. I've also been told that for some reason they are not in the right order, so which movie is best to start on?

Hello there
Just thought i'd mention that there is a new game to be released on the XBOX,PS2 etc called "Lego Star Wars the original trilogy" later this year. I really enjoyed the first game based on the prequels and I am looking forward to this one:)
Sad news
Phil Brown, who played Uncle Owen in the original 1977 Star Wars, passed away Thursday of pneumonia. He was 89 years old.

Honestly, with the originals with "A New Hope". Either way you start the whole saga has plot holes, and do not mesh well :\.

She's right, start on number 4...A new Hope. Aka "the first one" That's how I had to do it...and I think you'll enjoy it more that way.
However, if you don't want to know what's going to happen in the end...which can be obvious, anyways, go with The Phantom Menace.
Star Wars is a must-see!

I loved Lego Star Wars. I read the article on IGN that said they're basically improving on everything from the original - you can now fly the minikits you collect, you can jump in vehicles in the middle of foot-based missions, space missions are free-roam and not limited to story mode, every non-droid character has a secondary attack (Chewie rips the arms off of enemies!!!), and every non-droid character can now build stuff with Legos - even without the Force.
It's a really wide release, too. It'll be released on PS2, XBOX, NGC (of course), and PC, PSP, Nintendo DS, & the Game Boy Advance. Ironically, the next-gen consoles have been left out, so that the developers can just focus on making a good game (gotta' love 'em). I just hope the DS version isn't another "GBA-plus" game.

It just sounds so cool. I have been anticipating this game since unlocking the new hope level in the first game.:)

Lucasfilm Update:
First up, the Stars Wars TV series that we’ve been hearing about since Sith came out. “That’s not going to happen probably for another year and a half while we develop scripts and everything else. But it’s fantastic; we’ve got some incredible writers. It’s going to be much darker, much more character-based, and I think it’s going to be everything the fans always wanted the prequels to be. They’ll be one-hour episode. It takes place between Episodes III and IV. It’s going to be all-new characters, maybe a few bounty hunters in there to start the series off.”
-Rick McCallum (SW Producer)

Haven't heard too much about this, hopefully we'll get some more news on it soon. Sounds good so far.

This is old news, but for those who don't know:
This September: Original Unaltered Trilogy on DVD
May 03, 2006
Fans can look forward to a September filled with classic Star Wars nostalgia, led by the premiere of LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy video game and the long-awaited DVD release of the original theatrical incarnations of the classic Star Wars trilogy.
In response to overwhelming demand, Lucasfilm Ltd. and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will release attractively priced individual two-disc releases of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Each release includes the 2004 digitally remastered version of the movie, as well as the original theatrical edition of the film. That means you'll be able to enjoy Star Wars as it first appeared in 1977, Empire in 1980, and Jedi in 1983.
See the title crawl to Star Wars before it was known as Episode IV; see the pioneering, if dated, motion control model work on the attack on the Death Star; groove to Lapti Nek or the Ewok Celebration song like you did when you were a kid; and yes, see Han Solo shoot first.
This release will only be available for a limited time: from September 12th to December 31st. International release will follow on or about the same day. Each original theatrical version will feature Dolby 2.0 Surround sound, close-captioning, and subtitles in English, French and Spanish for their U.S. release. International sound and subtitling vary by territory.
"Over the years, a truly countless number of fans have told us that they would love to see and own the original version that they remember experiencing in theaters," said Jim Ward, President of LucasArts and Senior Vice President of Lucasfilm Ltd. "We returned to the Lucasfilm Archives to search exhaustively for source material that could be presented on DVD. This is something that we're very excited to be able to give to fans in response to their continuing enthusiasm for Star Wars. Topping it off with a new interactive adventure makes September 12 a red-letter day for Star Wars fans."
That's also the day fans will be able to experience the LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy video game, the action-packed sequel -- filled with tongue-in-cheek humor -- to one of the best selling video games of 2005.

I'm such a SW traditionalist that I was one of those people that didn't like having RoTJ ending altered by having Haydan's Anakin replace Robert Shaw's Anakin. So I'm really happy about this release :D, however, I'm hearing these versions maybe in low quality.
Here are the new dvd covers thanks to www.starwars.com

I have read that they are going to be the "original" theatrical releases No digital enhancements at all. Thay may or may not translate into "not restored", which after almost 30 years could make for a very bad transfer. The "Digitally Remastered" on the cover art is meaningless. All CD's and DVD's are digitally mastered, or remastered in the case of older material. The Dolby 2.0 Surround soundtrack tells me that it's unrestored. Maximum ROI for Lucasfilms.

05-31-2006, 01:21 PM
Exactly, but for right now it's still at "rumor status"(for some reason) so I didn't want to make it sound like it was confirmed status :\ lol. I heard they are using the Laserdiscs for the transferring. I'm still keeping my Special Edition VHS tapes of the originals since the RoTJ ending isn't altered in those. There are only a few alterations on the VHS tapes.

Well, I was thinking it was a bridging gap between the two since the New Jedi Order was done and we have this new arc after the Dark Nest. It's just in-between bridge gap in the timeline?
