I am much into the mysterious aspect of Lost and so this somewhat angsty stuff between the quadrangle of Jack, Sawyer, Kate, and Juliet is a little irritating to me. So I did not necessarily enjoy it as much as others, not to mention it aired after the amazing maybe best episode of the series, The Constant and could not live up to that. I did enjoy the revealing of some more things. I didn't expect Charles Widmore to be owner of the Freighter. I expected DHARMA to be involved and they still could be. Widmore is crazy to think he can exploit the Island, if those are his motives. What was he trying to prove by beating one of The Others? Did he know he was being filmed? It seems that he did, especially when he looked straight into the camera. Was he telling Ben that you have no idea who you are messing with? What is Desmond gonna do when finds out the owner and more importantly what will Widmore do when he finds out Desmond is on his boat? I smell a showdown. I also became a bigger fan of Daniel this week. Ever since I found out about him over the summer, I knew that he was integral into solving the mysteries of the Island. I am anxiously waiting for the the Freighter folks encounter with Smokey. I hope the next episode is better than this one. I do like Jin and Sun centric episodes, so I should enjoy it.

Spoilers for this week from
Kristin at E! Online.
The spoilers are centered around Michael's return and Episode 4x08 Meet Kevin Johnson.
Not much new, but there is a confirmation about time travel with Desmond, Michael and Walt. Also, that Michael is indeed Ben's man on the boat.
1) Michael, Desmond and Tunisian Polar Bear been "bounced around time and space".
2) We will find out why Walt is so tall and why he keeps showing up on the island, also because of time travel.
3) Michael was sent by Ben on a mission, thus is his man on the boat.

Those are some very interesting spoilers. The first one is a little mind-boggling. We know Desmond did that, but I never would've expected the other dude and there are theories dealing with Tunisian polar bear doing that. I'm glad we get an explanation about a certain someone and that they are taking into account his real life changes. The third one, most of us figured that out a while ago, but was it part of their deal? I think it was.

It took me a while to understand it, but in last night's episode there were both a flashback (with Jin) and a flashforward (Sun). From the date of death on the grave it seems that Jin didn't get off the island at all and was considered dead like the rest of the passengers... I understood it was a flashback only after thinking about how old Jin's mobile phone looked + the fact he said he had been married for only two months...
Just one question: where was the big cliffhanger?
The whole episode was just more confusing than usual. Actually I never felt so frustrated!

so is jin really considered one of the 6 if he is dead? or would he be one of the 8 that jack said 2 died? also wonder why hurley was the only one to go to the grave and im assuming that could be one year after jin died cause who visits a grave just randomly. usually its a one year thing. well atleast for hurley. plus the grass has completely cover the spot unless his body isnt underground and was considered "lost". i wonder how jin died tho.
GuardianAngel
03-14-2008, 10:06 AM
I don't think he's one of the 8 because his date of death said something like September 22nd 2004 which was the day of the plane crash. He must have "died" together with the rest of the losties. And he's not one of the Oceanic 6.
The Oceanic 6 should be: Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sun, Sayid and Aaron (?). I'm not sure whether Aaron is the sixth, though....
Thanks to these new flashforwards this show is reaching new levels of confusion. I still like it, but it makes my head spin!

^^ Thanks, I didn't connect the date of death with the Plane crash, clears it up a little.:
Don't we already know, Aaron is not one of the 6?
But WTH! It was a very unsatisfying episode, maybe I was too sleepy. Could watch it again, don't know if I want to:confused:
Does anybody know if the enhanced repeat versions, help to clear up anything?

This is what EW (http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20184253_3,00.html) says on the Oceanic 6:
The Oceanic 6 is set. Right? Right?
Sun's flash-forward fake-out seemed to close out the first act of Lost's future-time story line: identifying the members of the Oceanic 6, the celebrity miracle survivors of Oceanic 815. To recap, they are Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Aaron, and Sun. Now, I know what some of you are saying: Aaron can't be a member of the Oceanic 6 because he wasn't born prior to the crash and therefore was not technically an Oceanic 815 passenger. To which I say, Please. Don't be so literal. In the Lost world, the Oceanic 6 is clearly a media-coined term, pinned on these six souls by some clever headline writer or newscaster. And being in the business, I can tell you that tiny little facts like Aaron's non-passenger status would never, ever get in the way of a easy, catchy piece of phrasing. We journalists are exactly that lazy. So let's call it: The Oceanic 6 is settled. Now, let's move on to the next act of their story, which I'm betting will cover two big points: the backstory behind Jack's downward spiral into boozy, grizzly-bearded, we-gotta-go-back-to-the-Island mania, and more context for Ben and Sayid's secret war with their list of mysterious off-Island foes."

Heres some observations........
So, like the note said "don't trust the captain". How can we believe what he says at this point about Ben, Widmore and the "fake" crash? Seems Lapidus isn't fond of him either, or the boat for that matter. He seems (at this point) to be on his own, and more trusting in Sayid and Desmond than ppl on the boat....He went to the chopper to grab lima beans to Sayid and Des??? Seems he's seen his fair share of craziness and dosen't want to eat their food....Maybe he thinks thats whats causing ppl to get "cabin fever" and go nuts??
And I think this is the same sickness that Rousseau's crew got that she has been talking about for seasons now, and were finally seeing what the "sickness" is and how it effected her crew... Why not her??? Don't know.....

Even with the Widmore stage there would be extra bodies in the "staged" plane. They said on the news (in ep 2) all bodies were found...Naomi said it to Hurley last year, and the captain also said it to Sayid....Now where would the O6 come from....If there bodies were in the plane as mentioned by the news, Naomi and the captain.....Hope theres a storyline for this

That flashback/forward technique was great, even if it was confusing. What was up with Hurley being all happy that no one else showed up. When he first came in, I seriously thought that Jin and Sun got a divorce and by some miracle or by luck that Hurley and Sun had gotten married. Then they started talking about Jin and my fears were relieved. I sincerely hope that Jin is alive on the island and I think he is, especially with the day of death and thus I do not believe him to be one of the 6 and neither do I count Aaron, so I wonder who the last one is and frankly I do not have a clue. It could be Cindy the flight attendant even though she is an Other or it could be a dead body, but then if Jin is dead and died on the Island and his body is brought back, then he would be the 6th member. I hope they clear it up. Even though I knew it was Michael on the boat and we pretty much all did, it was still cool to see him and the look of Sayid. I would really hate to be Michael, because Sayid sure does have questions and when he wants answers, he has his ways of getting them. I am glad that he is finally back. In my opinion, a great episode.

About Russeauo and Karl getting shot..... The obvious would be Ben setting them up 1. he dosen’t want Karl to get Alex pregnant 2. He wants Alex for himself not w/Russeauo. So you could assume logically Ben was behind it, but as we’ve seen before the answere always seem a little more complex than what we get, but we haven't seen (except Harper) any of the others yet. These ppl were behind the purge I don't think they'd give up this Island w/out a fight.…Plus how did Ben organize this trap while being held in Lockes camp…I can’t wait to see how this plays out

Now that's what you call a cliffhanger. Awesome episode! Can't wait till April 24th!
I liked that they actually explained a little bit about what happened in the gap in time from when Michael left til now. I was really surprised with Sayid but I'm thinking that maybe Ben planned the whole thing out that someone from the island would run into Michael and then it would be just crazy. I was just surprised because Sayid's actions seems rash even if Michael is a double traitor.
I was not surprised when the bf and the mother got shot at the end - I think that Ben sent them there purposely so that he could get rid of them both. Just by the way Ben looked at the bf before sending them off... he hated that guy touching his daughter. Hope they tell some backstory about Ben and Danielle and how they had a kid together etc.
I like this season so far. I was having doubts last season, the show seemed to be floundering a bit, but it does seem to be back on the conspiracy track.

Here's an interview with Blake Bashoff (Karl) SOME SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!! SKIP ON BY IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ!!!!
Blake Bashoff was kind enough to speak with me this morning about the death of Lost's Karl. He shared a little dish about a deleted shot from the final scene, his gut feeling about the fate of Rousseau, and who might be pulling the strings—or at least the trigger.
Are you really dead?
I think I'm pretty much shot dead.
How did this come about?
The timing just sort of worked out. I booked this Broadway show, Spring Awakening, that was going to take me away for at least six months. We called Carlton and Damon and gave them the heads-up. They know the show that I'm doing, they're big fans of it, and they said that's an amazing opportunity, so they went back to the writers' room and brainstormed. And I think that this was actually an idea that they threw out there early on—that Karl would eventually bite the dust, and this was the right time.
Now, for the fans who want to see more of you, tell us: What's this Broadway thing you're doing?
Thanks for asking. It's Spring Awakening at the Eugene O'Neill in New York, Broadway and 49th. It's won eight Tonys, and it's the story of young love in 1890s Germany. I play Moritz, but the music is all modern rock 'n' roll. I always just did TV for years and then this came along, and it's wonderful.
The good news is you got the Han Solo line before you died: "I've got a bad feeling about this." I think that's a little gift from the producers. What did they tell you when they told you about the scene?
I wish I knew more than what we all saw last night, but it's sort of all shrouded in secrecy. Watching the episode last night, I did notice that [something that we shot wasn't shown]. On the day we filmed it, the people who were shooting at us, there was actually a great shot of the snipers emerging through the jungle in these incredible, elaborate, jungle camouflage uniforms. And I don't know if you got a sense of that last night or not—I think you just saw movement in the trees.
In terms of what they told me, they didn't tell me much except it's going to be exciting, and we'll hope to have you back in some capacity, and the good news is when you do come back, you serve a cool purpose like Mr. Friendly last night.
Obviously, there's going to be a scene that follows the scene we ended on last night. Do you think that Danielle is killed dead, and will we see any more of Karl's body, or are we just going to leave him there in the dirt?
That's a good question. If you do see Karl's body, I don't think it will actually be me. But they've done it in the past where they have these great body doubles who can certainly play corpses masterfully. Rousseau? I don't know. She's pretty blown up, but...I have a sense you haven't seen the last of Rousseau.
I have a backstory question. I don't know if you have any idea about the answers to this, but I think we learned at one point that Karl was an orphan, and in a sense Alex is, too. Ben obviously adopted Alex and made her his daughter and raised her, but Karl's this foundling who can go to hell as far as Ben is concerned. Do you know anything about why Alex was favored and Karl wasn't?
I wish I did, because I still don't know much about Karl's backstory, especially with pregnant women on the Island. I sort have no idea where he was conceived and where he came from, but I assume he grew up on the Island since he didn't know what The Brady Bunch is.
In the end, I think basically Karl and Alex and Ben comes down to Ben being an overprotective father and knowing what happens to pregnant women on the Island, and knowing that Karl and Alex were clearly in love and wanted to make a life for themselves and maybe even get off the Island. And he was just playing the father card and didn't want to run the risk of Alex getting pregnant at all.
I guess that leads into the next question: Did Ben kill you? Was that Ben?
Really good question. It's hard to tell, right? It's hard to tell based on the writing—they certainly hinted that it could be a possibility, because you know, Karl was astute and asked, "Why isn't everybody going? Why are you just sending us?" And the bullets sort of clearly missed Alex. However, it's my gut that Ben was genuinely trying to protect Alex and genuinely thought that Rousseau could, would, protect her, if need be. It's hard to tell with Ben, but I think that this is real.
And what was it like leaving the show and Tania Raymonde?
I love the show. It's a great group—not to mention they're all incredibly good-looking—and, I mean, you get to shoot in paradise. And Tania? Tania's wonderful. I guess I'm more of the introverted type, and she's the life of the party. I love working with her.
Well, we can't wait until you can come back to Lost, because Karl and Alex are awesome, and I think there's a lot left to learn about them.
Thank you very much.

Some major spoilers for the season finale!!!!!!
A writer on the final season 4 episode Alison Serrif was interviewed in the Aussie Sci fi Magazine, Beyond days.
She has said that the season four finale will be the most shocking yet as three major characters are killed.
The deaths of these major characters impact the Oceanic 6 andform the basis of the actions of the characters in season 5 and provides a deeper understanding of the flash forwards that were seen in season4.
No names are given but when asked whether one of the characters was Claire, the response was very enigmatic, “I cant answer that as it would be a major spoiler, but it probably wouldn’t be to those who have carefully followed all of season four”.

Hope they tell some backstory about Ben and Danielle and how they had a kid together etc.
It's not like Danielle and Ben have never seen eachother nekkid or anything, lol. Danielle was already pregnant just like Claire when she and her orginal crew crashed on the island years ago, days after giving birth, "the others" stole her baby. Since Ben is their leader, the spoils of that raid must have went to him since Alex obvisously thinks of him as her father. A crazy baby snatchin' murderous father, but that's not the point, lol. He raised her and she can't help but love that foo'.

Most recent update on the filming of the final eps for the season. Some SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!! SKIP BY IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ!!!!!!
It’s been a busy week for the “LOST” production team, and with five episodes to produce in a little over a month, that’s hardly surprising. We’re deep into the production of Episode 4×11, which is apparently Locke-centric, and “LOST” crews have been spotted all over the island working hard to bring the story to your TV screens.
On Thursday, workers returned to the old Waimano Home in Pearl City, where Locke’s birth (and an apparent visit by Richard Alpert ) was filmed the day before. I’m told the folks on set were much less talkative on day two, and the set was apparently a different part of the facility… but both Terry O’Quinn and Lance Reddick (Matthew Abbadon) were seen in the neighborhood.
That same day, visiting German student and fan Marcel again caught “LOST” at work, this time high in the mountains. They were filming an on-island scene along Manoa Falls Trail, complete with mysterious DHARMA door in the grassy hillside. He saw Josh Holloway and Emilie DeRavin in the morning, and when I joined him during my lunch break, we watched Daniel Dae Kim, Yunjin Kim, Rebecca Mader and Jeremy Davies traipse through the jungle, over and over and over again. Making television is hard work!
But that’s not all. Word quickly spread on the coconut wireless thanks to some excited Teach for America workers, a handful of which were thrilled to find “LOST” setting up shop at Leilehua High School in Wahiawa (just one town over from where we live in Mililani). I headed up to the campus after work, and was able to watch them film a couple of scenes.
The young extras were dressed in 1960s fashions (brown gingham dresses and high socks), including several cheerleaders… much to the delight of some Leilehua High School boys that were hanging around. And attention was focused on a young man with brown hair, a collared shirt, and a severe countenance. It was John Locke at sixteen, having an intense conversation with a teacher, a green “Cowin Heights Knights” school crest hanging over his shoulder. Let’s just say our “Man of Faith” has had issues with science for a long time.
“LOST” returned to Wahiawa today, filming more at Leilehua High, and filming another scene elsewhere in the neighborhood. No sign of any actors, but the sight of some classic American cars was hard to miss.

And some MAJOR spoilers after that, from tv guide..........You've been WARNED!!!
Matthew Fox, who plays Dr. Jack Shephard on ABC's Lost, told SCI FI Wire that the upcoming final five episodes of the fourth season will be packed with action, a few surprises and a change for his character.
"You won't believe what happens in the next five episodes," Fox said in a group interview on April 18 while promoting his upcoming film, Speed Racer. "The show is building to its climax of the year, and it's a lot of things happening. It's big, and it's going to be good."
Fox added that things may change for his character, who has appeared in "flash-forwards" as an emotional wreck. "Jack's a frickin' mess in the future," Fox said. "So that's been not pleasant to revisit that. It's never fun to put yourself into a place where you're suicidal and really, really messed up and desperate. So, yeah, he's really gotten to the rock bottom, but I understand why we're taking him there, and there will be a turn in there where he begins to sort of build towards a redemption. And taking him to the very pit of despair is going to make, I think, that more rewarding."
Lost has been on a break during the fourth season, which was interrupted by the writers' strike. "I think it's been a good year for us," Fox said. "The strike, obviously, was difficult, just because we were really on a roll through [episode] eight, then we took this break. But I think everybody was really excited to get back to it."
Now that the strike is over, the cast and crew have had to film several episodes at once in order to finish the season on schedule. "It's been, you know, chaotic," Fox said. "I mean, you know, as it always is this time of year for us. I mean, we're doing many shows [at once]. I think we're shooting three episodes simultaneously, essentially. So it's like anywhere between two and three units working at the same time and going back and forth between them and shooting things very out of sequence, which you always do, but I think when you're covering three episodes, it's a lot. But it's great. I mean, it's really great."
Lost returns with the first of its new episodes on April 24 in its new timeslot, Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.sptv050769

It doesn't take a flash-forward to uncover Lost's secrets. Just a trip to Hawaii and a few pry*ing interviews. Here, a sextet (in honor of the Oceanic Six) of spoilery insights. — Shawna Malcom
1) Others leader Ben (Michael Emerson) has been called many things — Master Manip*ulator, Bug-Eyed Bastard, Captain Bunny Killer — but an action hero? In the April 24 episode, Ben leads the resis*tance against the freighter fiends working for cranky billionaire Charles Widmore, while in his flash*forward adventure, he does battle in the Tunisian desert and spies on a funeral in Iraq. Emerson was as surprised as anyone by this unexpected turn of events, not to men*tion a little anxious. "Stunts, languages — all sorts of spe*cial skills were asked of me," he says. "feel like I've done everything but the kitchen sink in this episode. God only knows what's next."
2) In one scene witnessed by TV Guide, Sawyer, Miles (Ken Leung) and a banged-up Claire, holding baby Aaron, make a ghastly discovery in the jungle: one dead body and an extra dismembered arm. Surprisingly, the con man turns all Big Brother on the single mum. "Since Charlie's died, feel like no one's protecting Claire," Holloway explains. But can anyone really keep Claire from joining the island's body count? After all, Aaron's calling Kate "Mommy" in the future. De Ravin claims she hasn't received the dreaded phone call from producers. "Maybe just let the baby go first," she says. "Or maybe fall off the helicop*ter. But if that's the case, I'm not shooting that scene. Stunt double, please!"
3) Remember that water*color painting an insti*tutionalized Hurley was working on when Charlie appeared in the season pre*miere? Jorge Garcia painted it himself. He also decided what to paint — an Eskimo fishing outside an igloo. "I was like, 'hope peo*ple think this means something,'" says the prankster. Mission accomplished: After the episode, fan sites buzzed with theories, including one he expected: "I hoped people might think it had something to do with the guys [in the Season 2 finale] speaking Portuguese in the snow."
4) TV Guide caught a scene shot for the May 1 episode in which Jack collapses, unconscious, on the beach. Expect Juliet to take charge and perform emergency surgery. "get to go into Jack's guts!" says a glee*ful Mitchell, who adds, "After reading this episode, realized that Juliet really does truly love him." Even so, Jack's flash-forward revolves around Kate. We're sworn to secrecy but will let slip that fans of "Jate" are in for a long-awaited happy twist of events.
5) Coming attractions: The return of ageless Other Richard Alpert (Nestor Carbonell). A trek to Jacob's cabin. In the future, Hur*ley imparting a chilling message from Charlie to Jack. Christian Shephard reaching out to both (!) of his children.
6) The producers' ambitions for the season finale were so epic, they had to ask ABC for an additional hour (Part 1 airs May 15; the second and third hours will air May 29). "All we can say is, at the end of May 15, viewers will be left wondering how the hell in two hours are the Oceanic 6 all going to be together and off the island?" executive producer Damon Lindelof says. But get off they will. And as a result, expect Lost to be a whole new ball game — again — when it returns for Season 5.

Lot of spoilers!!!! gotta tag these
I've just learnt that Funeral Director from the Season 3 Finale, who was played by Nigel Gibbs, will be back for the Season 4 Finale.
Will we finally see who was in the coffin?
Source: *******
1) New ******* and ********* forums should be up by mid-May
2) He hopes Post Producxion will be back with full synopsis starting with Episode 4x10
3) Doc Ray's body washing up on shore this week is connected to the "Time Implications" on the show
4) In reference to a question about Darlton telling us to look at the Jacob's cabin scene and shoes, he said that he feels we will learn much more about the shoes and Jacob "very soon"
5) The "secret" London filming was for a Flash forward
6) One of his overall theories for the show is that Aliens crash landed on the island at some point, causing the island to become special, leading to Dharma discovering it and now other forces (Widmore) wanting to use the island's magical properties.
NOTE: When asked for clarification about the London Flash forward scene, he said thats all he can reveal at this point.
Ausiello: An elaborate ******* scene was shot last week. And I hear all of the Ocean Six were present and accounted for.
Question: More Lost, please! — Tim
Ausiello: Guess who RSVP'd "Yes" to Locke's flashback episode on May 1? Nestor Carbonell! Meanwhile, my frenemy at E! Online is reporting that Greg Grunberg will reprise his role as Oceanic pilot Seth Norris in the two-hour season finale. Coincidentally, that same episode will feature the introduction of another pilot, a "young Top Gun type" who, per the casting sheet, doesn't like it when his copilot brings Lucky Charms onboard. Or was it a lucky charm? Eh, it was one of those two.

Here's an interview with Hurley (Jorge) Not too SPOILERLY but ur warned!!!
Nothing too spoilerly.
We know he's one of the Oceanic Six and that he winds up in a mental hospital; but, like most other 'Lost' revelations, those facts about Jorge Garcia's Hurley have triggered even more questions. With the show returning April 24 for its final Season 4 episodes, Garcia talked to AOL TV's Kimberly Potts about fan -- and cast -- reactions to plot twists, being an action figure and the "pretty crazy" thing that happens with that 'Lost' smoke monster.
1. Will we see another Hurley-centric episode this season?
I haven't seen one yet. Actually, I think there might be a ... uh, I probably shouldn't say that. No, there hasn't been one yet.
2. Fans seem more excited than they've been since the Season 1 ...
Definitely. When I was reading the script for the season finale last year, where you saw that Jack and Kate weren't on the island anymore, it got me excited for where we were going, the way finding out Locke was in a wheelchair did. This has definitely made us hungry for what's going to happen next, and it's very reminiscent of Season 1 for us, as well.
3. Do you know what will happen in the season finale?
No. I know what happens in episodes 9 and 10, and I just got the script for episode 11 and read it, and that's all I know. We actually knew more than usual this year, because the season started late with the strike. But usually, we would be about two episodes ahead of the fans.
4. What would you like to see Hurley do the rest of this season?
I think he's steadily, throughout the seasons, taken a little bit more of a stand, kind of had a little more confidence as far as what his own role in this whole adventure is. Like when he saved the day at the end of last season, or when he acts as a leader. He's coming more into the ownership of taking those kinds of roles and I like that aspect of him.
5. What's the storyline you're most anxious to find out more about?
The thing in the woods that knocks the trees down and is made of smoke -- that's a piece of the puzzle I'm fascinated by, and want to know what that is. It's tough, because you feel sometimes like you're getting more information, and it just brings up more questions. But something happens, that's coming up, that involves that thing, and it's just it's pretty crazy.
6. Was it weird when you first saw your action figure?
The action figure was awesome. I loved playing with the 'Star Wars' action figures when they came out, so to get to be a toy, it feels like you get to make your mark in pop culture. I actually did a signing for the figures at the big Toys "R" Us in New York, and afterwards, me and one of the producers, Bryan Burk, bought a ton of them and shipped them all home.
7. What made you decide to keep a blog?
I thought it would be fun to do because it would keep people hungry during the times that we're not on the air. There was a little scare, I think, at first, that I was going to talk about shooting [the show] and stuff. So I thought it'll just be a fun little way to share some pictures, and people can get to know a little more about me if they want to.
8. What's on your TiVo list?
I was taping all of the 'Battlestar Galactica' marathon [recently] on Sci Fi, so I could fill in all the gaps before the new season starts. I TiVo 'The Daily Show.' And 'Ace of Cakes.' It's funny, because I said in some magazine interview recently that I watched 'Ace of Cakes,' and they sent me a big box of ... Charm City Cakes stuff, like an apron and T-shirts, hats -- they even make drumsticks.
9. ... Maybe they'll make a Hurley cake?
Well, I called them to thank them for the box of stuff, and they put me on speakerphone and I said hi to everybody, and they invited me to come visit. And they said if I came by, they'd drop what they were doing and make an awesome 'Lost' cake. So that would be fun, for sure.

Great episode. Man what ever the secret is that Ben is keeping...is worth more than his daughter. Still can't get over how Clarie survived. Her house blew to pieces, PIECES! And all she got was a bump on her head...dude come on. Poor Jack, for a minute I thought he had an ulcer. You know pressure is getting to him etc.. Still wondering whats keeping his hands tied when finding out that Mr. Twitchy isn't there to take them off the island. Oppurtunity was there to put the hurt on him and get him to talk. Guess they are saving it for next week.

Ben didn't actually want to see his daughter die.....It's was Him tyring to minipulate (Benipulate) the gaurd. ben always tells you the opposite of what he wants. That's why he said those aren't the rules.....Widmore was to leave his family alone, that's why Ben wants to go kill Penny now, which in it's own is  Great ep.. And they have a dead Doc Ray on the Island and an alive one on the boat.
And, how bout Ben ending up in the desert....We saw he was shaking for a sec then he woke up, obviously time traveling, but why the need for a winter coat with the Dharma Orchid station logo, and Halliwax's name on it.
Halliwax is the guy that dose the orientation videos..Part of Dharma that Ben got rid of yet he's wearing a coat w/his name on it???? And with the cut, or bite on his arm I don't think that was his first stop.....
Now, did Ben lock himself in his hideout to unleash smokie??? Or could that secret room he went into be the orchid station, and he went time traveling to tell Widmore he was gonna kill his daughter??? Cause if Ben's in controll of smokie why did he say RUN as fast as you can for the tree line???? And also the guy that killed Alex got away. You'd figure if Ben's controlling it, that guy would be the first one rubbed out.
So maybe behind that wall inside a room full of off island wear, passports and money. May lie the time machine or the true way off the island. That only ppl like Ben, Richard, Mr. Friendly and Ethan use to go back and forth safely....And thats IMO how the O6 will leave..

ya interesting about ben controlling the smoke monster. but does he release it to a certian place and it kills all around or does he make it kill certian people? if he chooses who dies why did he make some die and some live. crazy crazy stuff.
this episode is jsut so confusing lol.

That was an amazing episode. There were a few great revelations and some new questions. That's the way it is with LOST and I love it. The beach stuff was kind of slow and boring. The interesting thing they keep coming back to is the time thing. Doc Ray is on the boat alive and well, but he is also on the island dead. Unless they were lying and I think they might have been and so the Doc is not on the boat,he is dead on the island and that is the only one. But if that is accurate, was it homicide or was it suicide. I would posit homicide considering the sickness factor, maybe someone went so crazy they started killing everybody and Doc was one of the victims. Maybe more bodies will wash up on shore.
Alex is dead. I understand the reasoning, personal warfare and changing the rules and such, but Alex was cool. I liked her as a character, but she is dead. Despite how I do not like that she is dead, I think there may be a blessing in disguise from it. A super-pissed off Rousseau. I believe that Rousseau is going to come back to life or be due to the island and when she finds out that her daughter was killed, she will go apesh** on the Freighties and probably have some stern words for Ben. Smokey may even be afraid of her. She is obviously already somewhat crazy, but to find out that the daughter she just reunited with after 16 years is dead, I would not want to be Keamy or anyone else on the Island.
Ben and Smokey, what is their relationship? Does Ben control it? Does he summon it? Or does he simply release from its, as I would call it, holding pen? I think that it is a combination of summoning and releasing it. He summons it to say to Smokey that there are intruders on the Island, and that it needs to provide its security for the Island. I picture it as something like an alarm because Smokey is a security system, Ben sets off the alarm, Smokey comes, Ben says hey, there's intruders, presses another button to open the holding pen, and Smokey sets off on destroying the intruders. Summoning and releasing. Smokey was obviously very angry last night, He was bigger, longer, and smokier than ever before and he also electricity pulsing through its form. He gave off this feel of a very large constrictor when attacking the Freighties. What I am wondering is what is the deal with the electricity? What does that mean, what does it do, what is it for?
Hope next week's episode is as good as this one. It seems to be Jack centric and I like those so it should be good. Maybe we'll see his downfall into drugs, alcohol, and suicidal tendencies.

Great episode indeed.
Smoke monster, future references, deaths, etc... I can see the dots beginning to connect and I am glad.
Finally got to watch it last night - have to say - good episode overall. I was really not expecting to see what happened to his daughter - but then again - neither was Ben apparently. I'm a tad confused as to where they are going with this and really hoping that it's not something dumb like rich people who have nothing better to do than mess with people's lives and fight over a mystical island.
I liked that the smoke monster was back though - there are some things that they are connecting at least starting to....

I agree. I am thinking of a family connection between Ben and Penny's dear old dad or maybe they are/were part of a secret society type of thing. No clue.
Well, when they were having the convo in Whitmore's bedroom I was starting to get flashes of Trading Spaces movie where rich people were playing with other people's lives (with less laughs of course lol).
Be really interesting to see how it all plays out.

So, we can assume that Jack was totally f'd up in the S3 finale saying to the new chief of surgery "Go get my father down here. If I'm drunker than him...." While his dad's been dead all along.
Few random things I noticed
The lady gives Jack a wake up call in the FF, and says "I know how you are with your calendar.".. Hinting at some time issues w/Jack
Rose says people just dont get sick here, and how it seemed odd that the day before rescue Jack gets seriously ill needing an emergency opperation.
How the hell did Aaron age so fast???
What made Jack change his mind to see Arron from Eggtown to this ep, where he even proposes??
So Miles really is a ghost hunter after all. Now who's house was he at in the 2nd ep of S4? And who killed the kid, why and what was the kid hidding behind his bookcase in a vent that Miles opened, drugs?? Something tells me there's more to that, and on the island he couldn't keep his eyes off Claire and Aaron. A major forshadowing of whats to come of Claire..
So smokey gose roaring into the woods, and manages to only hurt 1 man in the group that killed Alex??? It did way more damage to the Pilot and Eko, yet these guys seem to get out of the wrath of it???
Faraday says to Juliette "Please don't blame us for this, for whatever is happening." The writers say that what Faraday says is always important
Hurley has had about enough of whats going on. Thinking all of them are dead and admitting to Jack he sees Charlie , and that Charlie had a message for him "You're not supposed to raise him." Jack gets flustered hearing that and looks shooken up from it. Maybe cause he just saw his dad in the hospital lobby, and now Hurley is telling him a dead Charlie is talking to him. It was the turning point, and the beginning of the Jack we see in Through the looking glass....
We learn Charrlott(sp) can speak Korean. Which someday might connect her to Sun's father Mr. Paik..
Jack in maybe a last ditch effort to see if Hurley is right gose out to test fate by buying a ring and asking Kate to marry him.
Jin says that SUN needs to get off the island!! Not they but her. Could it be that whoever Jin is with maybe Paik (this is pure speculation) wanted someone concieved off the island to be born ON the island (Aaron) and someone concieved on the island born OFF of it (Jin Yeon)
Jack then after asking Kate to marry sees his dead dad. The person Charlie was refering to. Most likely he's trying to prevent Jack and Kate, or has some words to say about Aarons importance, and an ohh BTW he's your nephew?? But Jack dose make the comment "you're not even related to him!" Did he say that cause Aaron was Claire's, or dose Jack in the FF know He is related to Aaron??
Kate is seen on the phone talking to someone who she says is Noreen, and she could stay somewhere for atleast an hour, huh. That was the last straw for regular Jack as he starts popping his pills, and drinking from all the pressure he's dealt with in a small amount of time.....
Claire sees daddy in the woods HOLDING Arron  When's the last time a ghost could hold a baby?? And, where did Claire go? To see Jacob perhaps w/dad we all know daddy knows Jacob. He was sitting in his cabin. Will she learn the importance of Aaron there?? And for a man who's always in a suit or a dress shirt he looked like he was ready for bed, with a cutoff sleeve shirt on and all...
Jack asks Kate where she was. She begs Jack to let it go, but she finally says she was doing something for Sawyer? A promise she made that we'll probably see in the S4 finale. Could be about his daughter?? And she seems really shaken up talking about it, even in tears.
Jack confirms Sawyer stayed on the island....So we can pretty much eliminate him as *who's in the coffin*. Jack seems to try to get a point across to Kate, that he's the one that's there now, and he's the one that saved her...
And again How the hell did Aaron get so old??
So MANY questions in one episode
And next week we get the cabin, Jacob, and the return from the dead Horace Goodspeed. The man that just happend to be at Ben's birth, and got Ben's dad a job. More likely just to get Ben there....It's official, I'm LOST....:D
Had to mention this also... Best line of the night gose to Sawyer talking to Miles..."You just keep walking Donger." Hell yeah the Donger :D 80's movie fans should know the Donger:rotfl:

just a comment on a couple things you said.
Aaron getting so old may be based the same way as how Walt got so tall. perhaps growth hormones. also another theroy maybe is the time caught up with them. the island could be a lot slower then time outside the island. atleast physically.
the injur stuff could go to what i was saying about the time being physically. perhaps people can get sick only the sickness is slowed down. rose may still have cancer but no symptoms cause they were slowed down. jack could have had apendicitius(SP) the whole time and just caught up to him now.
miles and his ghosthunting and the drugs and stuff i dont think the boys death or the drugs mean anything but then agian it could since it is lost. but i think it was just showing he could talk to the dead and him talking to the dead might play a role in talking to jacob. dont think it will be as impotant as faradays part with him crying at the news when seeing the plane.
mr friendly in the episode with micheal mentioned the island wont let him kill himself so my guess is with the smoke monster is that those that didnt die were not ment to die.
I think we'll find a lot of answers with Jacob next episode -
I think that Jack getting sick is the island warning him not to leave or at least making it difficult for him. If he embraced the island then it would love him and take care of him - make sense? The people that loved the island and embraced it seem to be the ones that are n't getting sick. At least that's my take on it.
Time is all outta wack on the island, we really have no idea how long the people have really been there and we also don't know how they will be once they leave the island - time might catch up with them - or the longer you're on the island the more you become part of the island?
I was just thinking of the season finale when Kate and Jack clearly aren't together and he's all outta wack - I guess this was a flashback/flashforward with him and Kate together and it showed that they were together then he started going crazy.
I'm beginning to think the island is a living entity and that it brought the flight there for a reason - maybe because Ben wanted it or something.... the island does grant wishes/desires to a certain extent - maybe someone on the plane can help with the trouble Ben was having??

Very confusing episode.... and very disappointed by smokey. He only managed to injure one person??? what's the matter with him? It seemed he wanted to tear them apart instead he refrained from doing so?
BTW didn't anyone notice how much smokey last week looked like the demons in "Jus in Bello" on Supernatural? Almost identical, I'd say.

Here's either a strong clue or the writers are having fun with us.....
The writers have said Smokey has manifested into people Eko's brother, Ben's mom ect.. Well, last ep we saw Jack in the hospital looking at some x/ray scans. He hears something beeping....What was it?? A smoke detector!!! The next thing we see is his dead dad sitting on the couch.
Also the last scene of Sawyer in the woods with Aaron was an interesting camera angle as the show ended....Looked like the scene when Smokey aproached Locke in S1. Was Smokey the 1 who took Claire away in the form of her dad??
Here's a theory on Lostpedia that's pretty dam close to what were seeing, as far as how Ben ect are getting around the world so fast, and how ships and planes are getting there......

I'm beginning to think the island is a living entity and that it brought the flight there for a reason - maybe because Ben wanted it or something.... the island does grant wishes/desires to a certain extent - maybe someone on the plane can help with the trouble Ben was having??
ya i think that was the start of jack going nutty and the season finale was after jack has been nutty for some bit. which is why kate probably didnt want to see him anymore cause he was being crazy. Aslo im guessing since jack wanted to go back to the island so bad in the finale the people on the island must be much happier. im wondering why its jack and hurley seeing the dead but not sayid and kate and we dont knowabout sun. maybe hurley and jack are ment to be on the island and the others are not. who knows guess we need to wait and see.

GuardianAngel, to respond to your disappointment with Smokey, I had read a spoiler that said that Keamy had some electromagnetic device that when he turned it on, it caused Smokey to run away. If it was a real spoiler, the scene may have been cut. Hope that may relieve your disappointment in Smokey.
I really like the flashforwards of "Something Nice Back Home" as well as the jungle stuff, but I hated the beach stuff as I have been for this whole season. The only two interesting things were Rose's comment about the Island making Jack sick and Jin and Charlotte's conversation. The rest of the beach stuff was slow and boring, at least to me. At first, I thought Juliet was in the shower because I thought it sounded like her. I guess LOST has a way of messing with voices to make them sound like someone else. I also thought Ben was Kelvin Inman at first in the vet clinic. I was glad it was Kate, but I was also let down. I am a Jater and thus explaining my gladness, but I was expecting Juliet cause of the voice thing, but Kate opened up and I was like it's Kate, big deal. But I really am glad it was Kate because if it wasn't I doubt some of those big things would've happened. My favorite being Kate's revelation of helping Sawyer and Jack screaming, "Your son, you're not even related to him." What is Kate doing for Sawyer? Some have posited that it has something to do with Clementine, his daughter. Makes sense to me. However, Jack's statement spoke volumes to me. Not only is he getting to his breakdown point, but he knows that Aaron is related to him and that Claire is his sister. I think that this is what will drive Jack to go back, the fact he left his sister there and allowed her son to be essentially kidnapped, even though she abandoned Aaron. It is interesting to note that while the Island has changed a lot of people, it has not changed Jack. He's the same person he was before and during his Island stay, only alot worse. Thus the Alice in Wonderland quote. "Who in the world am I? Ah, that's the great puzzle." Great puzzle, indeed.
Sawyer was cool, the big brother to Claire and Claire herself, it was like she was just there, floating through existence. When Christian poped up at the campfire, that freaked me out. What does he want with his daughter? Probably something to do with Jacob. As I write this, I am making a connection between Jack and Sawyer, their motivation. Sawyer decides to stay on the Island to look for Claire and Jack wants to go back to find Claire. Jack and Sawyer may not be all that different from each other. After all, Sawyer looks at Jack as his only friend and the only person that understands him. Maybe when all is said and done, Jack and Sawyer will no longer be rivals.
The preview looked amazing for "Cabin Fever." What is really going on on the Freighter. For some reason, I think Michael is going to kill Keamy in a very vioent manner because that's what Keamy deserves. But I am actually interested in the Jacob/Cabin stuff especially Horace Goodspeed. "We've been waiting for you for a long time...I'm probably not making much sense am I...That's probably because I've been dead for twelve years." I am positing a theory that Horace is Jacob. I haven't really worked out the details, but it was just a thought that crossed my mind. They are similar in appearance and both very freaky. Let me work out the details and I will get back to you.

new episode on right now.

wow locke had a 15 year old mommy.
well guess its still not miceals time lol,.
----- Added 3 Hours and 24 Minutes later -----
what whats with that dude why dont he age.
Strange how the story line is really focused on Locke isn't it - I always thought it was about the doc but I guess I was looking in the wrong direction.
I can't tell if Ben is happy or sad that whatever just happened happened - as in 'the island' was passed onto Locke...... seems really strange. An yeah, what's with those characters that don't age? How old is Ben really?
'he wants us to move the island' ok.... seriously....wtf .... lol
superhippie2000
05-09-2008, 09:54 AM
well im thinking ben is his real age. the others however think they dont age. cause remember ben was never an other he just joined them.
ya the story seems to be focused a lot around locke now from last nights episode. it seems like he is the chosen one or something. the one destined to be ruler of the island. the flashback of him as a little kid showed him choose the knife and that is actually considered his i guess because he has always used a knife for different reasons. to kill animals to teach walt how to throw and he killed niomie with a knife. i wonder if whats his face knew john was the chosen one but denied it because of the picture of the smoke monster attcking. also why didnt john recognize him when they had the little talk about john needing to be the new leader. like back in season 3 or whatever when he had to kill his dad but chickened out.
ya i wonder how they will move the island. wonder if it mens actually to move. and if they have to actually move it how can that be done will it grow legs and walk to china or something? my guess is maybe this isnt the first time the island was moved. seems windmore knew of the island and where it was when he first started his facination with it but wasnt able to find it agian.

wow so im guessing the 6 who get on the raft are the oceanic 6 and they ddidnt get back intime to get the others. but it seems people on the island in the future are still alive. perhaps they got rescued before they could go back to get anymore people and the governemeent told them to forget about the others and say they are dead.

Some how im thinking that freighter isnt their rescue boat.....seeing as how they were going to bring it to the island....and now its loaded with C4. Other than that...there must be some "event" that happens that makes them NOT talk about what really happened.

I'm sayin the arm band Keamy put on is somehow set to detonate the bomb on the boat. Probably if his pulse stops????
^^Yup I was thinking that as well.
The flashbacks/flashforewards are kinda insane lol....hard to keep track sometimes of the order of things...... wonder how the season will end...... I guess next season they're gonna be trying to find the island so they all stop going crazy?

quick question why is it that sun visited his husband's tombstone when in fact jin never made it back home with her????
GuardianAngel
05-16-2008, 12:12 PM
^I thought that grave was created to remember Jin, but never thought his body had been taken away from the island and placed there.
superhippie2000
05-16-2008, 12:55 PM
im thinking since sun said jin died oceanic probably paid for the grave. probably paid for all the graves of the people. also im not sure if jin would still be alive not sure. why would he stay on the island and not with his wife. he could have always died at some point but who knows.
RedPhoenix23
05-16-2008, 01:21 PM
Considering the raft that Faraday is jetting back and forth only holds SIX people at a time and the Oceanic Six do later say that they used a raft to get to... where ever the hell that was, lol... and that led to their rescue, then it could be possible that Jin stays behind so that Sun can escape on the boat with Jack and company. Then again, I do know that Jack, Kate, Hurley, and Sayid wanted off the island worse then just about anybody but I don't see them denying Jin's spot so that he can be with his wife and child. Especially Jack. He's the ultimate marter. Plus, Sun is uber pissed when she confronts her father and says that there are two men responsible for her husbands death and he was one of them. I tend to think that means another on the island actually kills Jin. I'm thinking maybe that bomb in the boat may be what does it. But who knows? It could mean that Locke moves the island and that makes him ultimately responsible for her not being able to be with him. Therefore two peeps responsible for her not being with Jin.

I can't wait to see what it is the O6 are hiding. I think a lot is still to come about how they leave. IMO it's not just the zodiac. Plus can't wait to see the new station the Orchid wich on the mobisodes we see that it's used for time travel...
Anyone else see the comparision between Sawyer and Han Solo?? The writers say they love star wars. On Lost Sawyer is content and almost passive, reading books playing games, ect ect. But if a friend is in danger he'll be the first one to help like with Claire, and last night going with Jack not cause he wanted to, but to make sure he had his back.....I can see him giving up his seat for someone in a second and staying on the Island.....
RedPhoenix23
05-16-2008, 03:52 PM
Sawyer has already stated that he wants to stay on the island so he wouldn't be giving that much up. He's made his choice. I agree on everything else though. Sawyer is just a big old teddy bear. Aww. He may growl at you every once and while though.... and god damn, his growls can be quite MEAN. Eh. That's what they get for poking a bear with a stick.
elway
05-16-2008, 04:16 PM
I just meant giving up his seat as an example. He don't want to go anywhere... Also with the Han Solo comparision, Sawyer dosen't care about all the myths of the Island he's content. Like Han with the force Han laughed at it saying all you need is a good blaster at ur side kid...........:D
RedPhoenix23
05-16-2008, 04:42 PM

Here's a little something to wrap ur head around while we wait for the finale.....
In the last few eps. Ben has been carring a baton. He even handed it to Locke before giving himself up. Why give up a baton what would it matter??? Well after watching the pilot again (to find the supposed all important clue we all missed) I saw something pretty interesting, and after looking further into it saw I wasn't the only on this one.
Ben wakes up in the desert almost the same as Jack in the pilot a slash and all. Now go back to the pilot ep and Jack waking up... Next to him is a black baton?!?

Ok here's the ultimate test of patience:D
SEASON FINALE MAJOR SPOILERS!!
We get a FF to the scene from last years finale at the airport. Kate stops, and comes back to tell Jack he's lost, and to stay away from her and Aaron. She also mentions the supposed "he" from the obituary. Kate says "he" came to see her, and told her the same thing "he" told Jack, but she wasn't buying it.
Sayid visits Hurley in the mental ward. He asks if "he" has visited him, and that "he" is now dead.
Alpert and the others + Sayid and Kate rescue Ben, and
Ben gets his revenge on Keamy.
On the freighter they realize the device Keamy has on is connected to his pulse, and if he dies the bomb gose off. Michael uses some freezing device to slow down the trigger of the bomb.
Jack makes it to the orchid for one last confrontation with Locke. Locke says he has to lie about the island to ensurre the saftey of the island and the ppl left there.
On the chopper Lapidus takes off with Jack, Sawyer, Hurley and Kate. But there is damage to the chopper and can't handle all the weight. Sawyer kisses Kate goodbye, and jumps out (safely) saving the rest (looks like my Han Solo theory was pretty close lol)
At the orchid Ben tells Locke not only can he move the island in location, but time aswell
The chopper makes it to the freighter, and picks up Sun and Aaron. The bomb gose off killing Michael, and throwing Jin into the water. Jack refuses to go back for Jin saying the chopper would be too heavy. Explaining the hostility between Jack and Sun off the island.
Back at the orchid Ben gets ready to turn the wheel that moves the island, and will teleport him (he puts on the parka we saw him wearing earlier this season).
The last FF is back at the funeral parlor from S3, with Jack standing over the coffin. Ben approaches him (he's following Jack). Jack tells Ben what "he" told him, that he has to go back to the island.
Ben then tells Jack they have to take "him" too. The camera pans down and shows the dead body of............LOCKE!!
Locke is the "he" everyones been talking about in all the FF this season
credit *******, and this guy has been right about 99% of the time.........
I just listened to a season finale spoiler talk pod cast at *******, they say alternate endings have been shot (hopefully they end up on the dvd set). The above are the spoilers they have heard, and have to work with...

About Claire and Des
On a recent pod cast the writers mentioned that the version Locke saw of Claire in the cabin was in fact Jacob in a manifestation of her. SOO maybe she is dead from the rocket strike on her house.... And about Des I've been seeing things poping up at ******* saying he was seen at the funeral parlor from S3 dressed in a suit and tie w/ hair pulled back. But they did say alternate endings were shot....I'm also hearing that when the freighter blows up he is found by Penny's boat....No word on Jin who also gets tossed over..

Great season finale! Very epic and supernatural. There is so much that I want know about how and why things happened like Locke being in the coffin, the Claire stuff, Charlotte, and how the heck do you move an island. I hope Darlton will explain how their time and space travel works. But after Michael's run-in with Christian, I started thinking about Ben and Widmore's game. Because of the way Christian told Michael, "You can go now, Michael," I started picturing Christian as the bad guy. He said it real evil like to me. Let me expand on this, there are two forces on the island, one is good, one is bad. Christian and Widmore work for the bad side while Ben and Jacob work for the good side. It has nothing to do with controlling, it's just that as old as time itself battle between good and evil. Ben vs. Widmore. Jacob vs. Christian. Locke is stuck in the middlebeing fought for by both sides. In Christian terms, Christian and Widmore represent satan while Ben and Jacob represent God and Locke represents the rest of humanity. That's my theory, what do you all think?

It has nothing to do with controlling, it's just that as old as time itself battle between good and evil. Ben vs. Widmore. Jacob vs. Christian. Locke is stuck in the middlebeing fought for by both sides. In Christian terms, Christian and Widmore represent satan while Ben and Jacob represent God and Locke represents the rest of humanity. That's my theory, what do you all think?
personally I don't think jacob would alow Christian into his cabin if christian was on the oposite side as him I think it is more like Ben vs jaccob, Christian, and locke vs, Widemore vs. everyone else.

Cruse said in a pod cast on *******, that the Claire Locke saw in the cabin was a manifestation of Jacob "that's all I can say on that." he said. Hinting at much more bigger things to come.
Some power struggle has to be going on in that cabin. We heard Jacob say "help me" to Locke last season. Showing the initital signs of struggle . I'm officially confused for 8 LONG months now
And I'm interested to see what Jack messed up by leaving??? Seemed all the blame got left on him. As they said something terrible happend after he left, and why do all the others looks so run down now. Is it simply from leaving the barracks, looked like season 1, when Locke showed up.
Just a very packed and confusing season....Seemed they answered a lot, but in the end the questions still out weighed the answeres. I can't wait till the season that, that gets reversed.

noone on this show stays dead forever I think that once jack, kate, aaron, sun, hurley, sayid, and locke's body go back to the island with ben's help locke will be brought back to life somehow and they will have to move the island yet again to protect from someone else but who could move the island since once you move it you can never go back and the island clearly wants everyone on it to stay.

i agree , i love locke taking over , which is why I am so sad he is dead.
all i want is penny and desmond which I got, and locke to be happy.
jack completely blew it with kate in the worst way possible so I don't feel bad for jack.
I also want to see Sawyer happy that was very heroic jumping, I loved that and I am dying to know what Sawyer told kate.

WOW WOW WOW!!!
This finale was awesome! One of the best finales ever!
I really need to rewatch it, but I must say I'm really pleased and amazed with how these writers managed to reinvent Lost this season and come up with something this great! And the music... the music was great and so emotional. It was perfect in every scene.
Smallville writers, take some notes instead of coming up with the doomtender and more love triangles!!!!
There's one big question at the moment: why is Christian Sheperd so important to the island????

^^ I'm guessing he's in the bloodline. The Claire situation is bizarre. Hand to god I heard on a pod cast at ******* Cruse say Locke saw Jacob in the cabin, only he was in the form of Claire....... Sooo something is up. Funny how ghostbuster Miles don't want to leave. Not only was he hoping for 3.2 million, but all the ghost has him very intriged(sp?)

My Polar bear theory..........See what you think.....
After watching the finale for the 2nd time it hit me....I think I’ve figured out the polar bears…finally. Dharma brought them there to “move” the island.
All the pieces are there. The tunnels and caves where most of the stations were built, were probably there long before Dharma. Dharma was sent to the island and built the stations at existing caves that were built by some ancient people. (Remember in the finale with Ben and his Dharma and their silly little experiments comment). Dharma found the cold room with the ice wheel and built the Orchid station next to it and a chamber to channel the energy. However, before closing off the tunnel to the ice cave, they wanted to experiment with “turning the wheel” or “moving” the island. They didn’t want to use people but animals (note all the bunny experiments). So they needed an animal that wouldn’t freeze in the extreme cold and was strong and smart enough to push the wheel. Presto - polar bears! Dharma captured some polar bears and trained them to manipulate machines (ala the fish biscuit cage at the Hydra). The bears were then taken to the Orchid and moved the the ice wheel. Boom, the island moved and a polar bear was sent to Tunisia (just like Ben). Charlotte found the remains of such a bear with its Dharma tag still attached. There you have it….bear mystery finally answered.
I’d originally thought the polar bears were there for some sort of genetic testing to adapt them to a tropical climate or what not, but now I’m pretty convinced they were just there to move the ice wheel. It certainly seems more than possible to me.
God it's gonna be along 8 months :(

hummm that does make sense. and i guess the others were probably animal activists which could be why the polar bears were in the wild and not still chained up and caged.

elway, that is a very smart theory...very smart
wow, that is a good theory lol - and it makes sense given what we saw in the finale. I have to say that I was loosing interest in Lost but now my interest is back up again. They brought back some of the mythos and mystery that was in the first season. And they are doing more character development. Ben is still such an enigma - I'd like to know more about his motives and his war with Whitmore....

because the island can be moved, it could have moved to a polar ice cap area and polar bears just walked on the island? maybe?

I think when u add it up
Mechanical animal testing cages
Polar bear found in the desert in tunisa
Ben turns wheel , and ends up in the desert...
And the always Animal testing, before human..ie the bunnies, but bunnies wouldn't be smart enough or strong enough to turn the wheel like a polar bear could...
And to me the overwhelming evidence of Dharma bringing the bears, is the cages and tests they had setup at the Hydra. Were there to make the bears smarter. Remember the comment said to Sawyer "it only took you 8 hours to figure it out. The bears did it in 2."......Mr.Friendly
The bears (whats left of them) have been let go since Ben took over. Every room the showed in that station looked run down and unused, remember the speaker box Jack thought he heard his dad talking from, where they were keeping him... juliett told Jack those talk boxes haven't been in use for years much like the bears cages/tests......Why???
Cause Ben dosen't care about the DI's plans... As Alpert says he's been too caught up in the fertility issue on the island...Ben never thought he'd one day ever have to move the island again, if he did I bet 1 bear might have been kept around????:D

Alright straight from Comic Con to youtube.... Here is the new Dharma/Marvin Candle video... At the very least........It's mind boggling!!! Some thoughts I have I'll black out, but if you haven't seen this one yet watch it first....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72Tz8c9h2dE
1st the room looks similar to Ben's house on the island with the bookshelf and all.. And the voice of the guy filming the doctor (to me) sounds like Faraday....
We are told by the Dr. that he knows of the purge, and he hopes in 30 years!!!!! Someone will be seeing this?!?!
And last thing I noticed was the baby crying. Charlotte(sp?) was said to be born there, and she just happens to be around 30 years old!!! If it's Faraday behind the camera filming he may be the father (or has some other connection stronger than a crush on her) of Charlotte..... Cause Faraday seems to know whats happening.... He has that *old* book with equations in it, even Desmond's name in there... He knew the dangers of flying into the island when others had no clue... And he seems to not want to get *stuck* as he says, again there... Maybe not get *stuck* in another time loop... Maybe he was able to break one and got off the island in the past.... If that's his voice behind the camera... Well, that video was shot 30 years ago.... Faraday would have been a child at that time.. Some interesting things to think over... At least it's something...
arrghhh.... that kid was a total plant and the whole thing was staged.... they were 'testing' people on the floor at the Dharma booth (I was one hehe) and then they supposily picked the top ones - but they were all actors that staged the 'fake smuggled video' - the setup was a tad lame imo but the clip about 2 min into it is good and cool - very interesting. Also the clips they showed of the show and then the rest of the con with Lost was awesome. The panel was cool too with a surprise appearance by Fox.
They had three booths in different locations - seek the 6 and then the Dharma booth along with the reg Lost booth.
Thanks for posting the link :)

TV Guide and EW Summary from Lost Panel at Comic-Con WARNING SOME NEXT SEASON SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!
[Mod Note:] In the future (rather than stating "Spoilers Ahead",
and all of the scrolling), please just use the spoiler tags.
Thanks! ;)
* The island did not travel when the hatch imploded, but something did happen.
* We'll see more of Locke and Jin on the show. "Dead is a relative term," and there's still a lot of story to be told about those characters.
* Their favorite episodes are "The Constant" (Carlton) and "Exodus" (Damon). Damon adds that he really liked season four, and he admitted the show has had its "ups and downs."
* They reiterated that getting an end date for the show has really reinvigorated it in terms of giving it energy and purpose.
* We will see Rousseau's story this year, but it won't exactly be a flashback. We're done with flashbacks and flashforwards, but there will be some time-jumping excitement anyway. There will be storytelling on and off the island, and in different periods of time.
* Vincent the Dog is fine and will be in season five — and will survive until the end of the show.
* The Jack/Kate/Sawyer triangle is central to the show, and we'll see more interesting permutations of it over the next two seasons. And Kate will see Sawyer again.
* The nameless extras in the Zodiac boat with Farraday, stranded with the island gone, may be toast, but "things are looking up" for Farraday himself.
* Speaking of Daniel, he has a little notebook that tells him stuff that's happened, and stuff that will happen soon, and it's going to figure prominently in season five.
* Richard Alpert is "quite old," thanks to the island's mystical properties, and we'll see more of his history this year. We'll also see him barefoot in "the near future, pun intended," so we'll find out how many toes he has.

Okay that vid made me have a crazy idea. Remember how in season three Desmond told Charlie that if Charlie died pushing that button then his vision of Claire getting on a helicopter holding her baby would come true? That obvisouly didn't happen right? So either Desmond lied or..... what if the baby she was holding wasn't Aaron, it was Charlotte! Dun! Dun! Dun!

Will we see more of the infamous Dr. Marvin Candle in S5???
Here's an interview with the actor form all those dharma orientation videos.... Some SPOILERS ahead not many tho, mainly about his character and the plans for him. As we get to the end of LOST
LS: Let’s start with some of the basic questions: Do you watch Lost?
FC: I did not watch it regularly in the beginning, but I do now. It’s hard to enjoy sometimes because I know what’s going to happen.
When you auditioned, who exactly were you auditioning for? Dr. Marvin Candle? Dr. Mark Wickmund? Man from orientation film?
I auditioned for the character of “Dr. Marvin Candle”. The other alias came later.
Why do you think your character’s aliases all refer to candles? (candle, wick, wax)
I think the writers are just having some fun, but it’s “Lost” so I could be wrong.
In the latest finale episode, Locke was watching the Orchid orientation video when it suddenly started rewinding. Was there any more of the video filmed, or were we shown everything?
The Orchid video you saw was all that was filmed at the time, but it is supposed to be 1 of 3 orientation films for the Orchid Station, so you might see some more later.
The producers have said that season 5 will focus more on the Dharma Initiative. Do you know when we might see your character again? Were you told anything in advance?
I am told that we will see a little more of “Dr. Candle” in season 5. How much more, I don’t know.
In the beginning of the video there is a baby crying off screen. Do you happen to know who this child is? Could it be your character’s son? Is it someone we already know? Some fans have been speculating that it could be Miles.
Yes, I know who the “crying baby” is, but you will have to keep on speculating for a while longer because I can’t say just yet. Sorry.
In the video, your character still has both of his arms, but it seems that he knows that he will lose one of them soon. Do you know how it happened? It could not have been in the purge, because he said he died in the purge, and we’ve seen him alive with a fake left arm.
I was only following the directions in the script about the arm. I don’t know anymore.
Can you tell us who this source is? Is it the voice behind the camera?
The “credible” source of Pierre Chang’s info is from the voice behind the camera, but I can’t tell you who it is.
Can you tell us how this video will play into the future of the show? Could this mean that we will see more of your character?
As I said earlier, yes, I think we will see a little more of “Dr. Candle” in season 5.

i cant wait for the new season and too see what happened. i read some spoilers that was like speculations about where the island went and it makes sense.
i heard that they time traveled to the 70s or something. it would make sense when we saw those flashbacks with that one OTHER dude who seemed to have never aged from decade to decade. also maybe explains why he went to locke as a little kid for a "special" program. but i dont think it explains how locke could be dead in the present :\
and just some of my speculation is what if the whispers are the viouces of the LOSTIES who died in the past and was trying to contact themselves in the future lol. time travel hurts my head lol.

I'd thought I'd give a little update since we're a whopping 24 days away until the big premire. So far, the Lost team has written and filmed 10 out of the proposed 17 episodes this season (It'll most likley be 16 episodes with the finale being two hours so it technically counts as two) here are the titles so you can specelate and who's episode they're rumored to be
Episode 501 "Because You Left" (Rumored to be Oceanic 6 centric)
Episode 502 "The Lie" (Rumored to be Hurley centric)
Episode 503 "Jughead"
Episode 504 "The Little Prince" (Rumored to be Desmond centric)
Episode 505 "This Place Is Death"
Episode 506 "The Life And Death Of Jeremy Blenthem" (Locke centrick)
Episode 507 "316"
Episode 508 "LeFleur" (Rumored to be Sawyer centric)
Episode 509 "Namaste"
Episode 510 "He's Our You" (Rumored to be Sayid centric)
There you go. I can't wait for the premire, but episode 6, just by the title, sounds awesome.

I got the DVD for christmas and the special features are pretty decent. There's 2 discs worth of features (Making it a 6 disc set) which includes
Lost on location: Behind the scenes of a few episodes
Right to bear arms: A feature on the guns of Lost
Gag reel
Deleted scenes
A feature on Micahel Giachino talking about composing the music for the show
Freighter folk: A feature on the new characters
The definitive flash forewards: a neat feature that starts out about creators and cast members talking about the flash forewards and then it shows the flash forewards in chronological order
A 20 minute fake documentary on the conspiracy of the oceanic 6
Lost Missing Pieces: The mobisodes that filled in the gaps in the seasons like when Michael met Juliet, when Jack met Ethan, etc. You really need to see that last one as it's in Vinent's eyes and shows a pretty big revelation. These mobisodes were to help us get a Lost fix between the season 3 finale and the season 4 premire.
I'm sure there's more but I'm forgetting the others. But it's defentilly worth the buy.

i was thinking about the button hatch exploding and ben saying he let the numbers go out and nothing happened but he lied. im thinking that perhaps the button wasnt really anything dangerous to begin with and it was just something that stopped the island from time traveling on its own. maybe the island is set to move itself every 108 minutes so no one can keep track of it but when darhma took over the island it did something to stop the time travel. maybe ben lied about not entering the code to make locke think nothing will happen but ben did want something to happen just not with him in the hatch. if its anything like the wheel he used in the last season finale then anything and anyone in the area would be sent somewhere else. so ben may have not wanted to be transported alone and wanted to stay on the island. so he made locke think it was ok to let it go cause he knew by the time the time ran out agian he wouldnt be near the hatch. when the hatch blew up i believe the island was about to move itself but desmond used the key before it can completely move. so the time travel energy got sucked back from where it came from but desmond was in the area so instead of him going somewhere phsycically it only made him do it mentally. i think this cause the bright light was the same type of bright light that took over the island when ben moved the island. and also think the reason for the button was for windmore to find the island and if it moved he would have to start over.
Tabularasa
01-04-2009, 07:29 PM
Well the season 2 finale proved that the button did do something. When Desmond didn't press the button, the electro magnetics made the plane crash. Now, Desmond turning the key and causing the white light was how Penny was able to find the island. As far as I understand it, Ben was just messing with Locke's head. He first messed with Locke to cause a riff between him and Jack (this eventually worked to his advantage because Locke would start to trust Ben-just watch the Lockdown episode) but when that backfired, he probably wanted to mess with Locke because he knew about Locke being in the wheelchair and that he was special. Ben has always felt threatned by Locke, that he would take over. Remember in season 3, he shot Locke just because Locke heared Jacob. It was only in season 4 that the rivalry stopped because when Locke killed Naiomi, Ben saw that Locke's intrests where to protect the island. And when Alex died, Ben knew that his time on the island was gone and that Jacob didn't want him anymore (again shown in that episode where he shot Locke)
As for Whitmore, the two are obviously in a war (watch the conversation the two have at the end of "The Shape Of Things To Come" they've been at each other for awhile) I think Whitmore was once on the island or needs to get there. If everytime the wheel is turned the island shifts in time, it could explain why no one could find it. But hey, it's just my take on it. Hopefully we'll get more info on Whitmore this season.
superhippie2000
01-05-2009, 08:52 AM
ya thats true.
i really hope we learn more about whitmore and his connection to the island. perhaps that will be braught up this season. would love to see his flashback. and i wonder if ben will really kill penny. i hope not cause she isnt like her father at all and chances are she would be more likely to help ben then to stop him. there is so much explaining to do and only 2 seasons to do it :\
Tabularasa
01-05-2009, 01:05 PM
Yeah I heard that Whitmore does make more apperances this season. I think the fact that he and Sun and that talk, he had the conversation with Ben, and that he bought the Black Rock journal, the writers are making him important. As for Penny, not to spoil it, but there is an episode early on in the season where they basically show if he's going to kill her or not. But I just want to say if they kill Penny, it's the worst thing they could possibly do. The only problem I see is if they still want to make Desmond a big part of the story, something is going to have to happen to her. I mean, why would Desmond go back to the island? They gave him his happy ending and I just don't see what would make him go back other then something happens to Penny.
There's a lot of explaining to do and I do have a feeling that not everything will be explained (They already said that the connections with the flashbacks and the numbers are nothing but a coincidence) but the past two seasons have really explained a lot. Some people tend to not like Season 3 but I think it really opened our eyes and they explained a lot. Season 4 explained a lot as well, I mean Ben can summon the monster?! I also think the fact that Richard is going to be more involved in season 5 is great because I have a feeling he's the one who is going to be explaining things to Locke.
superhippie2000
01-05-2009, 02:26 PM
ya i think Richard will be probably the person to explain the island itself. he seems to have maybe been the leader before ben showed up. i think it was his job to find the next leader which is why he was questioning locke as a kid in the past. cant wait to get the full story on the island.
ya im sure the connections are just coincidence cause being in the same spot your bound to run into each other or pass people as you go. although desmond and jack connection i wonder if there is more to it. i would hope there is more to the numbers tho. especially with hurly. the numbers might be cursed in a way that those numbers didnt really appear to hurley till after he left the island. maybe there was some weird time travel thing going on we dont know about and hurley getting those numbers and people being cursed with them is a way of the force bringing him back to the island. ouch that hurt my head lol.
i dont think desmond plays a big role in the big picture but perhaps with his time traveling brain he is the only way the 6 can get back to the island :\

I always felt that Desmond was important. I mean if he never came to the island, the 6 wouldn't have made it off. But one thing I thought of. If Locke got off the island, did he turn the wheel to get out? And does that mean the island time traveled again? Man, I can't wait for this show to come back on. Despite my personal opinions on the finale, it's an awesome show.

Woo hoo! I'm so psyched about Lost coming back. :p
Strangely enough, I've actually never watched it on tv.
I watched all previous seasons on ABC.com.

I am so curious as of HOW Locke was in the coffin. SO, this means he is not in season 5? Should be interesting guys!
