Here is the first exclusive thread about the entertainment industry; reviewed by Kryptonsite members. I, as a huge fan of the industry, have read numerous reviews by older people who do not know the first thing about the younger population. I know in the newspaper I read, they have this 40-year-old lady reviewing good music and movies, but get's bad feedback from her. Here my vision is that we all can come here and review recent movies and music that we have seen and give HONEST reviews. Below is the scale I have created to judge the reviewed material. Let's be honest and fair in the way we judge and review. If it bad then say it, but back it up because maybe what you disliked about it, someone else may prefer. I will start off this thread by posting my review of Alien vs. Predator, and use it as sorta a guide for other reviews. Have fun in the sun . . .
5 . 'Classic'
4 . Worth a Taste

1 . Why Bother
MOVIE : Alien vs. Predator [R]
Little Green Men are no longer the image of the term 'alien'. In the 1970's a movie spawned a newer image . . . a image of fear and terror none that had yet been seen, that 'out of the world' movie would be called 'Alien'. Later that movie would spawn 3 sequels. Sometime later in the 1980's, a creature was born more then just terror and fear, it was a game, and we were the pawns in the match. 'Predator' set a new level in the cat-and-mouse game with Arnold being thrown around by a humanoid who killed for sport. Later another one came and caused trouble in the city for Danny Glover, but one pivital point in the movie would set it up for one of the greatest matchups of our time. Watch it and see what I am talking about. Freddy and Jason pulled it off, now it would Alien and Predator's time in the ring.
The story is the Predators were Gods and had taught the humans how to build. For that humans who were selected gave their lives to become 'chosen' for being prey for aliens. The 'teenage' Predators would come down and battle the Aliens in this pyramid and prove their worth to their race. The movie sets it up as Weyland Industries has found a Pryamid under the ice, and therefore sets up a crew to go down. Later on the humans screw it up, Predators come and battle the Aliens. The movie was rated PG-13, and for that it stayed true. The previous movies of the icons were more graphic and violent, and for that they cut those parts out of this film. One noted scene missing is the classic 'alien' chestbusting scene - very bloody and left out due to rating. Good film for either franchise, but like Freddy vs. Jason, is left wide open for a sequel. 4 / 5

MOVIE : 13 Going on 30 [PG-13]
I know this is not a preferred guy movie, but it actually is pretty good. It was a good date night movie while listening to the rain in the background. Jennifer Garner portrays this girl who at 13 wishes to be 'thirty, flirty, and thriving', and through some wishing powder it becomes true. The movie itself is humerous and witty, while at the same time portrays the reality of the scenerio at hand. I will not ruin the ending for those who have not seen it, but it ends well. For any guy out there looking for a descent 'chick flick' then this would be it. If you hate the concept and plot, at least you can look at Jennifer Garner? 3.5 / 5
BABE ALERT : Jennifer Garner

MUSIC : lostprophets Start Something
This CD is a must have for any alternative fan. With such songs as 'Last Train Home' and 'Wake Up (Make A Move)', lostprophets capture what some bands cannot: good beats that capture a true vibe of rock. 'Burn Burn' is great song with loud base, yet at some points low voice over and awesome lyrics. I know myself have listened to this CD close to 10 times throughout and I have only had it a mere week. Usually a CD will have 5-6 good songs on it, but this record has 12 (all) songs that are up to par. To compare them to present bands I would say it is a mixture between Linkin Park and Hoobastank. 5 / 5

Shaolin Soccer - Funny, great special effects, and fun to watch overall.
It is your typical Bad News Bears type story. It involves six masters of kung fu that have broken apart from each other and are working dead end jobs. The Walter Mathau role goes to a washed up soccer star from twenty years ago that agreed to throw the championship game, and then had his leg permanently injued by an angry mob of fans. One of the masters showcases what he can do, and gets the coach to agree to form a team with him. The master then goes to his other five "brothers" as he calls them, and convinces them to quit their jobs and form a team. They go from knowing nothing about the game, to becoming masters of it by using their knowledge of kung fu towards the game.
Shaolin Soccer involves a very nice mix of comedy, great special effects, and action sequences. I am not a big fan of soccer at all, but I must say that it came off quite well in this movie. It was very cool to see kung fu mixed together with it. Perhaps the film's best feature is the unbelieveable special effects. They were absolutely top notch, and we are talking Matrix and Equilibrium type special effects here.
This movie had a limited release in theaters, but if you get a chance go to your local video store and rent it. It is a foriegn film, but you can either leave the language track in Chinese and watch the film in subtitles, or choose the U.S. theatrical version and watch the film with the English dub. I recommend watching the original Chinese version with subtitles because it includes all the original footage.
AWESOME MOVIE!!
4.5/5
Butterfly Effect - A riveting and original thriller from the time travel genre.
Ever since I first saw previews for this film, I was excited about it. Anytime the subject of time travel is approached, it usually makes for an interesting and exciting film. However, the film did have the critics going against it, and Ashton Kutcher trying to play in a dramatic role.
I saw this film back when it was in theaters, and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it turned out to be. While it is not the best time travel film I have ever seen, it was extremely entertaining and suspenseful to see all the different lifetimes being played out. I really enjoyed the fact that Kutcher's character used his mind to travel in time and not a machine. The movie can be frustrating at times. In fact, after the first 20 minutes of the film I had serious doubts. Things would happen, followed by Ashton's Kutcher's character having a blackout right at the moment when an explanation was needed. This left myself and the rest of the audience feeling confused at what was playing out. But after the film gets over the initial speed bump in the beginning, The Butterfly Effect turns into a riveting thriller and everything is explained in the long run. The entire cast did a fantastic job in my opinion. While I still feel that Ashton Kutcher is not a very good actor, he did a lot better than I thought he would. Especially, when you consider the fact that he is known for being a comedy actor.
One of the best things about this film was the ending. It was not your typical happy ending. While every character's life turned out for the better, Kutcher's character still experiences loss and regret by how the story turns out. I was very happy with the ending, because it actually manages to leave your emotions feeling conflicted, which gets you thinking about how things could have been. Anytime you leave the theater in discussion about what you would have done differently, it means that the film made an impression on you. That is definately something that The Butterfly Effect manages to do.
I really don't understand the harsh treatment from critics. In Entertainment Weekly for example, the average grade for this film is a "C-". While The Butterfly Effect does have its flaws, it turned out to be a riveting thriller, with an original take on timetravel and an unpredictable ending.
I would give this film a 5, but since it got off to a slow start, I am gonna give it a 4.5/5.

As you can see I love to write movie reviews. I will probably be making a lot of posts on this thread. Hopefully people will appreciate my reviews and go see the movies that I recommend.
Frequency - Amazing movie. Definately one of the best I have ever seen
Frank Sullivan ( Dennis Quade) is a firefighter that dies tragically in the line of duty. Thirty years later, his son John ( Jim Caevizel) is now a cop whose life is a mess. The film opens on the eve of the 30 year anniversary of his father's death. John's childhood best friend Gordo( Noah Emmerich) comes over to cheer him up, and they drag out Frank's old ham radio. Due to a phenmenon called an "aurora borealis" John soon realizes that he is able to speak to his father Frank thiry years in the past where the same phenomenon is occuring. Since the death of his father has not yet happened, he is able to warn Frank about the accident. However, saving Frank's life also alters the course of a serial killer which effects John's entire family. John's current investigation is the same unsolved case from 30 years before. Now John and Frank work together over the radio to solve the case and avoid the tragedy that happened to their family.
Frequency remains one of my all time favorite movies. The acting is phenomenal!! Jim Caevizel gives the best performance in the movie as John Sullivan. The love for his dad that he shows as well as the determination to solve the case is amazing. Dennis Quade continues to amaze me with his versatile and brilliant roles. Frank Sullivan is no exception. I love the way that he shows love for his son, and how he must become like a cop even though he is a firefighter. Noah Emmerich adds a nice touch to the story with Gordo. A suprising performance was given by Elizabeth Mitchell who plays John's mom Julia. Andre Braugher always does a good job and continues to with Satch. The villan of the story is played by Shawn Doyle. He gives a very impressive performance that will shock you! The story itself is brilliant. It involves many elements. The love between father and son, a murder mystery, and the scientific phenomenon of the aurora borealis. Some timetravel movies suffer with due to lack of explanation. But as the movie goes on, memories of both lives ( the one with Frank dying, and the one with him alive) are shown. You get to see John's life on both timelines, as if they both merged to create the present. This lets us see where the chages were coming from and why they were done.
With amazing performances, an incredible script, and an action packed story, Frequency is a treat to watch. It puts an interesting spin on the time travel genre!
5/5
Frailty - My all time favorite horror film, and one of my overall favorites period.
Frailty revolves around a serial killer called the "God's Hands Killer" and a man named Fenton Meeks ( Matthew McCoughaney) that claims to know the true identity of the killer. Fenton walks into the office of FBI agent Wesley Doyle ( Powers Boothe)and tells a story that he claims will shed some light on the case. The story goes back to Fenton's childhood, and revolves around him (Matt O Leary)and his younger brother Adam ( Jeremy Sumpter) raised by their father( Bill Paxton). One night, their father says he is visited by an angel that was sent from God. The angel says God has a mission for him. The mission is for him and his two sons to kill demons disguised as humans. Adam, loves his dad, and is eager to assist him. Fenton however, refuses to participate and sees it as murder. Throughout the whole film, the viewer must ask themselves - Is the father really doing God's work, or he is out of his mind?
Frailty is one of the best movies that I have seen in the last couple of years. The film's story unfolds briliantly because the focus keeps switching from the present conversation between Matthew McConaughey and Powers Boothe, back to the boys' childhood with their father. It is all tied together wonderfully, and culminates in one of the best endings I have ever seen. It will literally shock you. The film overall is an intelligent horror film that offers a whole new take on a serial killer. It is not your everday pointless Hollywood slasher film. It uses the characters' emotions and what they went through, to drive the story. I also love the controversial take on religion that the story offers. Bill Paxton did an amazing job in his directorial debut! The two young actors Adam ( Jeremy Sumpter) and Fenton ( Matthew O' Leary) were the main reason for the film's success. Paxton successfully manages to make them give the most convincing performance possible. Their performances make what the boys went through very convincing. Matthew McConaughey and Powers Boothe were also great.
Frailty was flawless in my eyes. The story unfolds very well, the ending was outstanding, and the performances were all great.

vyperman7 . . . I love the reviews, but I would have given the Butterfly Effect a rating of 5. The movie was just set up great. I bought the DVD, and as a special treat on the disc it had the other version of the film which had a different ending. Both endings give the story conclusion, and that is rare where both endings fit the story.
Coming up later this week will be my review of The Girl Next Door UNRATED.

Thanks for the props on my reviews.
I also wanted to mention that I loved The Girl Next Door. I expected it to be your typical teen comedy with nudity thrown in. However, it managed to play off like a modern day version of Risky Business. The movie was hilarious, the storyline was great, and the film had the perfect amount of nudity and sex in it, without going overboard.
A little short for me, because I usually like to write in depth reviews. However, I will leave that to you B.H.

First of all I'd like to say this is a nice thread and a great idea as well.
La Meglio Gioventú - The best (of) youth
This is one of my favourites. Unfortunately it's split up in two parts, because the total lenght of the movie 6hrs (!), which means that once you begin, you'll have a long way to go before it's over - just warning you, the length may cause some readers to think 'ok I'm not going to see this' let me finish my review.
It's an Italian movie - I'm sure that if you get hold of a DVD it will have subtitles. If not, then you can forget about it, unless you speak fluent Italian. :D
There are two main characters, Nicola and Matteo Carati. They're brothers, living in Rome and on the verge of graduating from university.
The story begins during the summer of 1966. The two brothers and their two best friends, Berto and Carlo, want to travel to Norway.
Unfortunately they have to split up before leaving Rome.
I will refrain from summarizing the movie because that would take me another two pages of writing :p
The movie focuses on the relationships between the brothers and their family, friends and of course, eachother.
There are lots of powerful, emotional scenes, laughter, joy, happiness, as well as sadness and anger.
They travel all around Italy, where they meet new friends and sometimes old comrades they haven't seen in years.
It's not only the journey of one family, it's also a journey through the history of Italy. The movie ends in 2003.
The final verdict? A true classic: 5/5

Collateral (Rated "R" for Violence and Language) - Final Verdict: Fan-friggin'-tastic! 4.9/5 (because no movie is perfect)
In it's simplest form, the movie is about Max the Cab Driver (played by Jamie Foxx) and Vincent the Hitman (Tom Cruise with grey hair). Max wants a better life - he's been driving a taxi for 12 years. Vincent got paid to off some folks. Vincent, in order to stay inconspicuous, hires Max to drive him around town (L.A.) while he does his job.
But Max gets wise to Tom, er, Vincent's plan after a dead body lands on his cab. Max get scared ****less. VinCruise wants to keep doing his job. Instead of just "silencing" Max, VinCruise decides to stay with Max for two reasons - 1) Early in their first meeting, Max proves that he can mentally and accurately calculate distances and the time it'll take him to get to each one. Plus, he keeps a damn nicely clean cab. 2) VinCruise begins to think of Max as a friend in a sociopathic way. Somehow, he sees a lil' of himself in Maxie-boy. It's a little disturbing, but nothing a few M&M's can't put out of your mind.
Long story short, VinCruise forces Max to keep driving him around, but there are obstacles that keep poppin' up. It's a long night. Oh, and a chick that MaxFoxx meets at the beginning of the movie plays a factor to the overall plot.
What makes this movie so riveting and awesomely fantastic is the delicate balance of suspense and blow-your-brains-out action. I went in thinking half of the movie would consist of VinCruise' pretty face leapin' and dodging between bullets while MaxFoxx spouted lines like, "Take the cab! Take the cab!" As it turns out, there's only one scene with a lot of gunfire - and another portion is VinCruise pointing his 9mm and either hitting his target or missing by a hair. The rest is interesting and very humorous dialogue is exchanged. I'd watch it for the comedic parts alone.
The ending is predictable - I won't ruin it for you, however. I went to IMDB.com and saw that someone claimed the movie had actually depicted the life of a Hitman-for-Hire very clearly because he himself was one. Whether it does actually accurately depict hitmen is up to you.
But for $8.50 it's worth watchin'.

I meant that the movie had the perfect amount of nudity for the type of movie that it was. In a film like The Girl Next Door that deals with an ex-porn star, they could have loaded it up with sex and nudity and made that the focus of the story. However, in Girl Next Door, there was enough nudity to get the point across, without taking away from the story. Hence the perfect amount.
By the way I recently saw Collateral, I and I loved it. I agree with your review, but I would give it an 8.5/10.

MOVIE : Taking Lives [R]
'The Bone Collector' meets 'Se7en' is the way I would describe the new A. Jolie flick 'Taking Lives'. The story is based around a boy, who with a messed up childhood, decides to take the lives of others unlike himself. Jolie plays a detective who works with the local cops and the only suspect to see the killer to find out how to solve the crimes. Ethan Hawke plays the only suspect to Jolie's case where as they begin a relationship in violation of the cop's rules, but that is just the beginning. 'Taking Lives' at first was a let down from the previews, but after watching it a second time it was better and more interesting. One of Jolie's better films I must say. 3.5 / 5

MOVIE : The Girl Next Door [UR]
With critic's disapproval of this film, I say f*** you. I loved this movie, and I thought that is was more then just some chessy teen comedy. Some thought it would be like a new-version of American Pie with witty teen humor and sexual references that were out of place, yet in fact it was not as thought. TGND is about a regular teen named Matthew who has goals, mainly to get a scholarship, and go to Columbia University, until he meets 'her'. The Girl Next Door, Danielle, is house sitting for her aunt who is in Africa. Time passes and the truth comes out that she is a 'former' pornstar. Matthew finds out, but really sees who she is and tries to change her ways of life. The ending is hilarious and fits the movie perfectly, except the alternate ending really sucks though. This movie is a good wholesome movie with a *hint* of sexuality. 5 / 5

Dark City
John Murdock(Rufuss Sewel)is in trouble. He just woke up in a motel room, and has no memory of how he got there. To make matters worse, there is a dead woman next to him, and he soon discovers that he is the prime suspect in a murder investigation involving prostitutes. He is being chased on both sides of the law. Inspector Frank Bumstead ( William Hurt) is a skilled cop that never gives up. He only believes in what he sees, and in his eyes, John is a murderer. But things are about to get a lot worse when John discovers his other pursuers. "The Strangers" are a mysterious group of beings that possess the ability to stop time and alter reality. John is now determined to solve the riddle of why the city is always different day after day, why it's always dark, and why they are after him. The only problem, is that the truth could be fatal...
"Dark City" is one of the best Sci-Fi films that you will ever see. The story is in a gotham like city set in the 1940's. All of the costume and building designs are outstanding. Next, the story is extremely original. The idea of being able to alter reality, and keep it from an entire city is actually interesting. Alex Proyas did a great job with how he worked the characters into the story. All the main characters play an important part, and help to further develop the plot. Rufuss Sewel was outstanding as John Murdock. His determination to find out why he's so special is unreal, and when you find out why the "Strangers" are targeting him, you will be very surprised. Jennifer Connelly is great as John's wife. The emotion that she shows is very realistic. Nice chemistry between her and Sewell. Kiefer Sutherland gave my favorite performance. He is the wild scientist that helps "The Strangers" with their mission. It was definately a different role for Sutherland, but still great. William Hurt was great as Frank Brumstead. Plays the typical cop who only believes in rational explanations. "The Strangers" themselves were excellent and actually frightening.
Overall Dark City is one of my favorite science fiction films. The acting, special effects, and set designs all make it a classic. I highly recommend this film to anyone who is a fan of the sci-fi genre. You will not be dissapointed!!

Unbreakable
David Dunn ( Bruce Willis) is the sole survivor of a massive train wreck, and does not even suffer a single scratch. Elajah Price ( Samuel L Jackson)has a condition that leaves his bones extremely vulnerable to breaking and develops the nickname "Mr. Glass". He is also a comic book specialist. His theory is that comic book heroes walk the earth, and due to the recent events, Elajah suspects that David is one of them. The theory is based on the spectrum of life. At one end is Elajah who is incredibly weak and extremely vulnerable. At the other end is someone who is extremely strong and invulnerable. At first David refuses to believe. But Elajah soon convinces David to look into his past. David soon discovers that he has never been sick, never been injured, has exceptional strength, and possesses a unique gift that others don't....
M. Night Shyamalan made one of the most popular horror films in history with "The Sixth Sense". But in my opinion, "Unbreakable" is his best film and extremely underrated. While people often criticize this film for being too slow, and hard to understand, it still continues to be one of my favorite films. The fact that the films move slowly, is what gives the film its brilliance. The events unfold at a pace that really lets you soak in the story and what the characters are going through. The story succeeds on five different levels. The first being the trouble with David's job as a security guard and his fight to find his place in the world. The second is the trouble with his marriage, and David's relationship with his wife Audrey ( Robin Wright Penn). The third is the endless need to proove Elajah's theory wrong. The fourth is with David's son Joseph ( Spencer Treat Clark) and how he thinks his dad is a hero. The fifth being what David does with his life, after he finds the truth. All of these aspects are blended together beautifully to create a well rounded story. M. Night Shyamalan is also known for his endings. The ending to "Unbreakable" will blow you away and is extremely shocking! Bruce Willis, Samuel L Jackson, Spencer Treat Clark, and Robin Wright Penn are all spectacular in their roles. Each bring an important part to the story and are equally captivating. Finally, the camera work, set designs, and use of color are amazing, and really bring the story to life.
Unbreakable is probably one of my all time favorite movies, and M Night's best without a doubt. The acting, rich layered story, and unbelieveable ending make Unbreakable a must see. I know that it has gotten a bad reputation from some moviegoers as being a boring film and M Night's worst one. However, ignore what you have heard and watch the film.

South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut (1999)
Let's face it, most of us know what South Park is (all about) and I assume you've also seen an episode or two, or perhaps five minutes of the show -- it's not your regular cartoon series.
The movie, like the title proudly says is like watching a couple of episodes in a row.
I am sure that, if you like the show, you will love the movie (as well)...
To me it was the other way around, I had never watched a single episode of South Park when I decided to watch the film.
It happened to be on TV, on a particular evening I didn't have anything else to do, and since the other channels did not show interesting movies, I turned to South Park.
I cannot say I regret it, heck I bought the DVD a few months later :D
There are some scenes that will make you laugh over and over again. There are also scenes that will make you cringe -- Satan singing 'Up There' is one of them, since I hate Disney movies now that I am (almost) grown up :p
This should be common knowledge by now -- don't watch this if you're easily offended.
The verdict: 3.5/5

Lost in Translation - Perhaps one of the most overrated films ever made
Before I watched Lost in Translation, I was very excited to see it. I have been a fan of Bill Murray for as long as I can remember and the film was receiving a lot of praise from the critics. I set out to watch a film that was original and inventive. Instead, I got to sit through 2 hours of a boring and extremely overrated film. Sofia Coppola did write an excellent script. The idea behind the film has a lot of potential, and the entire film was shot in Tokyo which added realism to the film. But, the story just seemed to never go anywhere and after the film ends, you don't feel any closer to the characters than you did at the start of the film.
I simply do not understand why Bill Murray was nominated for Best Actor for his performance in Lost in Translation. Before watching this film, I was excited to see his performance because all the critics were saying that only Bill Murray could have pulled off a role like this. I was expecting to have a lot of laughs and to be impressed with the performance overal. Bill Murray's role consisted of two things. The first was sitting around in bars getting drunk and talking with Scarlett Johansson. The second is singing karaoke. These are two things that any actor could have done. There was absolutely nothing special about his performance at all.
Unfortunately, Lost in Translation is the type of film that you either really enjoy, or you really hate. There really isn't any enjoyable middle ground in this film. I personally think the film is extremely overrated. Watching Bill Murray get drunk and sing karaoke does not equal an enjoyable film for me. Soffia Coppola may have set out with good intentions. However, good intentions mean nothing without the follow through.

Primal Fear - Riveting Courtroom Thriller
The story revolves around an alter boy named Aaron Stampler (Edward Norton) that is accused of murdering a priest. Media hungry lawyer Martin Vale (Richard Gere) sees it as the perfect opportunity to gain exposure and help his career. But as the events of the case unfold, he begins to care more about his client and proving his innocence. Martin is set to face off against the assistant D.A. ( Laura Linney), who is also an ex lover of his. With tension mounting on all sides, it is up to Martin to put his career aside, and find the truth.
Primal Fear is one of the best courtroom dramas that you will ever see. The story unfolds brilliantly. You are never quite sure if Aaron is guilty or innocent, and you will be guessing for the whole movie. The ending is my favorite aspect of the movie because of how shocking it was. It is definately not your typical Hollywood ending.
The acting is wonderful all the way around. Edward Norton's portrayal of Aaron Stampler is amazing. It takes talent to be able to play both roles so convincingly. One is the sweet and innocent altar boy that is innocent of the crime. The other is the split personality induced madman named Roy. Norton turns both roles on at the drop of a hat, and it is really fun to see. Richard Gere was the perfect choice for Martin Vale. You see two sides to the character as the film unfolds. One is the cocky and selfish lawyer who only cares about his career. The other is the man who comes to care about Aaron. Gere does a great job on both ends. Laura Linney is explosive. Her scenes as the prosecutor are filled with passion and energy. There is also great chemistry between her and Gere because they are ex lovers. I love that aspect of the film, because the case becomes more personal to both of them. Whether Aaron is really guilty or innocent becomes almost secondary to them, because they seem to be more concerned with beating each other. Frances McDormand is also outstanding as Aaron's psychologist Dr. Molly Arrington.
I have seen many courtroom dramas, but "Primal Fear" is definately one of the best. The hard hitting and emotional story, great all around acting, and surprising ending really make this movie great.

MOVIE : Cellular [PG-13]
I had a hard choice this weekend when it came down to decide which movie to see on my friday night. I loved the original Resident Evil, and could not wait til the sequel came out, but then I noticed that the movie, Cellular, which I really wanted to see was being released the same day - boy I had a problem! I talked with my gf and we decided we would see Cellular tonight, and RE2 next weekend. Cellular begins with a science teacher Jessica Martin (Basinger) being kidnapped by at first to be thugs. As the story plays out her husband has something in which she is being held captive as collateral for the return of the item. The thugs you find out are dirty cops. The leader (Statham) breaks the only phone in the room, and from then Jessica plays teacher and wires these parts to connect to Ryan (Evans) and from then he is her only hope. Ryan goes through pretty much hell to keep this signal to Jessica. Basinger delivers a good performance as the helpless victim in a scenerio which she has nothing to do with. The whole plot is based on a accident in which her husband was the center of. Story plays out really well, and the ending does do justice to the movie. 4 / 5

Everything is going fine until he remembers he has a daughter and decides to find her. One night the girl decides to leave her mom and live with con artist dad. The girl joins the con artists as they plan on cashing in on this bust. Everything goes good till the end falls apart as Cage's character is tricked out on his own. The movie plays out with twists and revelations in the end for Cage in which his life is turned over. Nicolas Cage is always a joy to watch, and especially in this movie because it such a funny character. One of the funniest scenes is in which he has to open the door three times, and shut it three times. Matchstick Men is hilarious comedy that delivers the laugh and enjoyment. One of Cage's finest films - can't wait for his next NATIONAL TREASURE. 3.5 / 5

MOVIE : Speed (Five - Star Collection) [R]
Well guys I did not have the time over the past couple of weeks to see Resident Evil 2, but instead at some point I watched the movie Speed in the comfort of my home. I loved this movie before, but I just bought and thought I would love to see it again. Just for all you guys who have not seen this movie - Classic!
The movie starts of with Keanu Reeves and Jeff Daniels as Cops who have to save a elevator full of people when a bomb blow the cables. Well they save the people, but the bomber gets pretty pissed for ruining his well-oiled operation so he decides to put a bomb on a bus and well the bus cannot go below 50MPH. To get Reeve's character's attention he blows up a bus and then calls him on a public pay phone. Well from there Keanu risks his life getting on this bus to save them and keep the above 50MPH. There he meets hot head Sandra Bullock who becomes the daring driver when the driver is shot. The bus runs through all sorts of twists and turns as it tries to stay above 50MPH.
The movie plays out very well in the end, does not let up for a minute. Keanu and Sandra's chemistry keep the story flowing, and the intensity is always up till the last speed bump. This movie is a great one from the beginning to the end. 5 / 5
BABE ALERT : Sandra Bullock
* As a little side note, there was a sequel made to this movie Speed 2: Cruise Control in which Sandra Bullock returned, but no Keanu. This movie had it's high points and it's low, but is nowhere near as good as the original. BUY IT - no ; RENT IT - yes.

MOVIE : Freddy vs. Jason [R]
Some may like this review, some may not, but I am going to try and remain unbias and keep this strictly relating to the movie material. Freddy vs. Jason had been the 'watercooler' rumor since the ending of Jason Goes to Hell in which Jason's mask is left when his body was blown up, and then Freddy's hand pops up from the ground and pulls it under.
Now to the movie . . .
The movie starts off where Freddy has been forgotten on Elm Street, and therefore is useless with no fear driving him. Freddy then brings back Jason, through impersonating his mother, so he can bring fear back to Springwood, and therefore Freddy would be reborn. Two kids, who were put in a sanity ward for knowing Freddy, broke out and try to save their friends from the horror, but it is too late and they are caught in a war. Freddy looses control of Jason and therefore puts him under tranquilizers and then tortures him the other world where Freddy has reign. Jason wakes up, but with Freddy still unable to come out, the kids go to sleep and pull out Freddy to battle Jason in the 'real world'. Jason and Freddy battle it out on Jason's turf Crystal Lake. The ending of this movie is still up for discussion because there is no clean cut winner, but if you watch the movie you will see what I mean. The alternate ending on the DVD is lame and worthless, so thank god they used the original. This movie does justice towards both franchises except Kane Hodder (Jason actor for many 13th movies) is not used. The acting and effects propel this movie, but at some spots the obvious dialogue is annoying. Both icons come out at full blast, so neither fan will be dissapointed. 4 / 5
BABE ALERT : Monica Keena
* As a little side note, Freddy vs Jason 2 is still progressing with talks of bringing Ash, from the Evil Dead series; however, the studio is wondering if they need a more popular killer to spice it up rather than Ash. Keep watch because the sequel is due within the next year or so . . .

I am sorry Blue, but I am goona have to disagree on Freddy vs Jason. I wanted to see the movie for Freddy and Jason fighting each other. That happened during the last 20 minutes of the movie, and the rest of the film sucked. The fighting between Freddy and Jason was very cool. I liked it. But most of the movie had nothing to do with it, and that is why I hated it. I wish they would put a DVD out that just shows the fight between them. I would buy that.

Of course it could have been better, but with the film at hand I thought it was good. There should have been longer and more fighting, but that is the direction that Ronny Yu (Director) wanted. At least, the studio didn't step in and make it PG-13 and butcher it like AVP. Hopefully FVJ2 will be better, but I have no idea who 'ash' is and I don't care. I want to see a war battle with more intense scenes.
vyperman7 its all good that you disagree, but that is part of the reason why I created this thread. We all have opinions, and this is the place to voice them. Hopefully we both can agree that FVJ2, should have more fighting and better plotline, maybe bring in a old character from either series??

MOVIE: Hero [PG-13]
[Martial arts-like type violence and some sensuality]
Stars Jet Li, Zhang Ziyi
Remember Crouching Tiger? Hero does this same pick but a little more historical. Set in China years ago a no-name assasin (Li) attempts to kill the ruler of China in hopes to bring his country together. Just like tiger the fight scenes are terrific with a new look and that is in color. There are plots and twist in this story and only in the end will you realize how the hero saved his people.
I give it 5/5
Babe alert: Zhang Ziyi
As for AVP very lame storyline and action. Even Napoleon Dynamite was more entertaining.

MOVIE : Halloween / Halloween 2 [R]
First off, I will stat that if anyone . . . has not seen this movie, where have you been? John Carpenter's Halloween is one of the greatest horror movies to be made. Micheal Myers begins his terror reign at a young age by killing his sister, and then spends years locked up. Years later on Halloween, he breaks loose and returns home with evil. His Doctor spends the movie tracking him down in Haddonfield (his home town), as he kills of teens doing naughty things. Well as the story goes, Myers catches up with Laurie Strode (his sister) and tries to kill her, Doctor Loomis shoots him 6 times, and then falls out of a balcony. As the doctor goes to check afterwards, that dreadful Halloween tone plays as Loomis realizes that he is gone.
Halloween 2 picks up right after the original as now they track him after he has been shot. The news comes out that Micheal Myers is Laurie Strode's brother. He knows; She doesn't since she was adopted. Strode is taken to a hospital and taken care of, but Myers follows her there and try's again to kill her. Basically more bodies, more dark hallways, but one thing remains . . . Micheal Myers. All Halloween movies (except 3*) are based on the fact that Myers is killing his blood line. If you were to judge all horror movies by seperate series / characters (ie. A Nightmare on Elm Street series, Friday the 13th series, etc.) then Halloween would win. Although the movies are not to be taken seriously, they do offer at some points of scare, but these are descent movies. 5 / 5
* Halloween 3 : Season of the Witch was to be a new idea that they would take the series in a different direction away from Myers. The idea was to have masks that woukld transform kids into monsters. The idea was crap, and bombed like most knew it would. That is why Halloween 4 is called THE RETURN OF MICHEAL MYERS. I would not recommend H3, but the rest of the series is good for a popcorn night.

Lost In Translation
Okay...I admit it...I saw Bill Murray on the cover and just had to see it.
But when I actually got through with it, I realized this was one of the best films I'd seen in a while. Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson portray their characters down to a "T," and all without a hitch. Through their eyes we see their characters' reasons for an unnatural imbalance with the human body and soul. The mood of the film captured every surreal bit and piece of surrounding, while showing Bob and Charlotte's inner confusion and agitated restlessness. The characters are lost, but they come to realize that life has it's little moments that make it all worthwile.
I can only pick out a handful of actors who could pull of Bob's character as beautifully as Bill Murray did. The only problem I can see with this film is, it's too long. It would have been a much better short film.

MOVIE : Seed of Chucky [R]
This movie has been in the making for years, and I am glad it finally got released. This will be the fifth Chucky movie, in which the last one he took a bride named Tiffany. At the end of Bride of Chucky, Tiffany gives birth to a freak of a child in some unorthadox way. In Seed of Chucky, Glen (Child of Tiffany) raises his parents back from the dead, but Chucky and Tiffany are sad when he is not a killer like them. Next is a synopsis of the movie which is silver for anyone who does not want to ruin the movie. [MAJOR SPOILER]Glen is a kid who is two-gendered where in he is both sexes. Chucky wants him to be a boy; Tiffany a girl. The plan is to get Chucky to take over Redman's body, and Tiffany to take over Jennifer Tily's body. Glen is to take over the body of the children of Jennifer Tily, in which Chucky artifically inseminates. Chucky jacks off into a cup, and the uses a baster to insert into Jennifer. The movie ending is respectful to the storyline, but it leaves way for a sequel. Interesting storyline to continue the series.[/MAJOR SPOILER] There are alot of funny lines, and alot of death. One of the best parts of the movie is when Chucky goes out and runs over a Britney Spears (NOT REALLY HER AS STATED IN AD) persona driving. Best movie of the series by far. 4 / 5

. . . one of the best new bands around the industry. When I first heard 'Somewhere only we know' the sound came across as coldplay-esque where the beats sounded similar yet different. Then 'Everybody's changing' began airplay and I was hooked. I finally heard some good feedback and wanted the album. 'Last to Know' is one of the best songs the debut album. The album is one that you can pop into the player and relax to either in your room or on the road. 5 / 5

MOVIE : Dodgeball [PG-13]
This is in my list one of the funniest movies I have seen yet. A good ol' classic school game taken one step further into hollywood, and the end result is hilarious. Vince Vaughn plays leader of the Average Joes / Owner of Average Joe Gym. Ben Stiller plays leader of the Purple Cobras / Owner of Globo Gym. Stiller's character buys the second mortage on the AJ gym, and therefore Vaughn needs to get $50,000 dollars in order to keep the gym. The only possiblity is to play in a Las Vegas Pro-Dodgeball tournament. After many rounds, the AJ's play against the PC's. Dodgeball is second in the comedy category in my collection, only behind Old School (Another Vince Vaughn Comedy - STRONGLY RECOMMEND). 4 / 5

Many people are going to disagree with this review. That being said... I thought this was one of the worst movies I've watched in 2004. I'm a big Vin Diesel fan, but the movie was terrible. The story was kind of difficult to follow I thought. The storyline also didn't progress very smoothly and for an action movie I was disappointed in the amount of actual action. The movie did have it's good points. The special effects were pretty cool and Vin did a pretty good job acting. All in all though, I wasted $22 buying the DVD.

MOVIE : King Arthur (Director's Cut) [UR]
I am sure glad I waited to buy this DVD then watch it. All the bad reviews and negative feedback were due to how gay Disney really is. The film finished with an R rating; however, Disney wanted PG-13 so they butchered and cut out all the blood and gore so they could get more money out of the young kids. The DC was one of the best film I own. I mean I have Gladiator and The Last Samurai, but this movie takes the top prize. The basic plot is that Arthur and his knights must go and rescue a family, yet the family is also being targeted by a group of savages known as Saxons. Long story short is that Arthur must protect the family against the Sasons. The movie runs apx. two and half hours, but is worth it every minute. Clive Owen plays Arthur, along side his long-lasted friend Lancelot, played by Ioan Gruffudd. One of the reasons why I really liked this movie was because Keira Knightley was in it. Knightley plays Guinevere; one of the family members rescued who in the end uses a bow-and-arrow with a mastery skill. If you liked Gladiator, then this movie, favored towards the DC, is one to buy. 5 / 5

This is one of the best Will Smith's I have seen in awhile. This movie is filled with action and suspense. Smith plays Det. Smith then goes on this quest to find out the truth behind the robots intentions. Smith joined by Bridget Moynahan, a scientist who works with the Robots at USR (United States Robotics). The movie is set in Chicago 2035. Smith finally proves to note worthy in that his hatred towards the robots is proven right when the NS-5's go crazy and begin a Revolution. Won't ruin the ending, but it fits the movie well. 4.5 / 5

MOVIE : The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2004) [R]
This, in my opinion, is one of the scariest movies yet. Based on a True Story, this TCM version is based more on the actual events rather then the first film, in which is loosely based on the crime. August 1978 a group of kids traveling through texas picked up a hitchhiker who later kills herself. While trying to properly report the death to the police they find themselves in a town of cannibals. Everywhere they turn, one by one . . . picked off by Leatherface, a man who makes a skin suit by sewing together pieces of skin from his victims. Picked off one by one, the victims increase and the survivors decrease. Jessica Biel leads the group, yet somehow she does it bad considering everyone dies in the end. This movie featurs quick kills and intense gore. As scary as this movie is, the acting is a little low and the lines are a little weak, but the movie does give a good scare. 3 / 5

Amazing . Honor . Respect . Love . Tranquility . A+++
This movie is one of the greatest films I own, yet have ever seen. Much credit in this movie goes to Jet Li, Tony Leung, Maggie Cheung, Zhang Ziyi, Chen Dao Ming, and Donnie Yen. The martial arts skills and cheorography is alone excellent. The plot behind this great film is one in which features flashbacks to the present that lead up to current scene. To put it simply, yet not to ruin it is that events and deaths led up to where a choice is made that not only affects one person yet an entire nation divided. Never have I felt so deeply towards a movie as I did for this. The english subtitles threw me off at the beginning, but now as I see the film as a whole I would view it no other way. MOVIE : The Day After Tomarrow [PG-13]
Independence Day director Roland Emmerich hit box office gold once again. The thing that made this movie so popular was that this storyline in some ways are based on facts that are occuring right now. Polar ice cap melting is happening; however, at a slower pace then in the movie. TDAT is a story where the melting therefore changes the sea level which alters the currents which as a results spins off numerous disasters. Dennis Quaid stars as a head researcher of NOAA, where as his son is in NY on a trip. The storms begin to happen, as his son (Jake Gyllenhaal?), is stuck both men must lead the pack. Quaid leads his team to NY for his son, where as his son must keep his classmates and others inside from the storm. The movie is full of great effects, and good acting. Gyllenhaal and Rossum(female classmate) have a sweet chemistry. A tad far fetched with numerous storms happening at exact same times, yet some truth; howver, it still delivers great excitment for the 2 hours, and that goal - nothing less then awesome. 4 / 5

MOVIE : Garden State [R]
A movie that began as nothing more then a low budgeted flick has turned out to be a surprise sleeper in the DVD collection. Garden State is a story about how Andrew Largeman (Zach Braff) returns home to attends his mother's funeral; he lives now in California now as a actor. While back at his home state in New Jersey, a.ka. Garden State, he revies old friendships while creating new ones. One new friend is that of Sam (Natalie Portman) who is everything that he is not. The movie begins in a high / trance-like status then slides into a more neutral tone. In the beginning Largeman is on ALOT of medication and so the feel of the movie begins with a mello tone, but as he forgot to take the pills he comes to realize he does not need them. The drugs made him numb and dull. The romance sparks between Braff and Portman. This movie is a great film to pop in . . . and just watch it. There is laughter and sadness, all you need for a good film. On a sour note, the foul language was really not needed and at times just sounded out of place; however, a great start for Braff's director debut. 4.5 / 5

When I first heard about this movie, it sounded like a great comedy. When I rented it, however, it was a big disappointment. Will Ferrell is a great actor. Very funny sometimes. Good at being in charactor. His acting could not rescue this film from its horrible writing. It seemed to be targeted more toward people my age, unfortunately. Grade: B +
I like thuis movie, it is very entertaining. I can see why this movie is Oscar material. The acting is o k. Leo did an excellent job as Howard Hughes with accent and all!! Sets are excellent. The thing that is funny is the bloopers, or mistakes, in this movie:
Anachronisms: In the early scene when Hughes takes Hepburn on a flight over LA, the first aerial shots briefly show a couple of obviously modern buildings.
Anachronisms: The first time we see headquarters of Pan-Am, a close up of the upper portion of the Chrysler Building shows several cellular telephone antennae.
Factual errors: The clocks in the background showed the LA time as 1:30 PM and the Honolulu time as 10:30 AM. The two cities are only two hours apart, not three.

MOVIE : Saw [R]
This is by far one of the sickest movies I have ever seen. The reason it is so scary is because of the graphic images of death, gore, blood, and decaptiation. The movie is based on a serial maniac, who is not titled a killer because he does not 'legally' kill them, where as he makes his victims go crazy and they kill themselves. Cary Elwes plays one of two cellmates who is in Jigsaw's latest game. Jigsaw plays mind games with everyone. He kidnaps Elwes wife and daughter and holds them hostage. The thing is in order for Elwes character to be released he has to kill his other cellmate. During this time, Danny Glover is tracking Jigsaw down. Danny Glover stars as a rogue cop who is after Jigsaw after his partner was killed the maniac. Through dark and quick images, this movie has the kinda feel the original Blair Witch had : dark images, and was based more on noise rather then images. Well this has noise and images. This movie is a what horror fans have been waiting for. The ending for sure will be a surprise, and one that no one could think of. 4 / 5

This movie, IMHO, was a dissapointment. I really wanted to see this in the theaters, but was unable to then so I thought I would rent it now, and I am glad I did not pay more to see it. The movie is centered around Telly (Julianne Moore) who lost her son in a plane crash. She meets a fellow friend who's daughter was friends with her son - He doesn't remember his daughter. After sometime he remembers and with Telly they go in search for their missing children. This is when it gets weird. The NSA is after them for some unspecified reason, and their is a mysterious man that keeps poping up. I won't ruin the ending, but it is very confusing and unlogical. This movie features many twists and turns, and sometimes your caught thinking on how sci-fi this has become. Expected at least a B rated movie, and got actully a C. 3 / 5

THE BATMAN CHRONICLES . . .
MOVIE : Batman [PG-13]
Classic . . . that is all you can say to describe this masterpiece. This is what a true comic movie is. BEfore X-Men and Spider-Man, this was the standard for Comic Book movie adaptations. Tim Burton took the Dark Knight for the comic book pages and put him on the screen in the form of Micheal Keaton. Bruce Wayne (Micheal Keaton) is flirting with Vicky Vale (Kim Basinger) while trying to fight Joker (Jack Nicholson). Jack Napier turned into the Joker by falling into Axis Chemicals from Batman. This movie features dark hallways and awesome architectures of Gotham City. The reason why this movie was so great was the acting and the action. Micheal Keaton is the true Batman and no one can truely replace him. Batman Begins may be a really great movie, but, this is the true Batman movie. 6 / 5

Batman and Catwoman fight, yet flirt until the end when they realize that their other counterparts are dating. Max Shrek (Christopher Walken) is another human villian as he helps Penquin run for Mayor of Gotham City. MOVIE : Batman Forever [PG-13]
And so the downward sprial begins for the Dark Knight. Joel Schumaker takes over for Burton this time around as Director, yet Burton still co-produces. Val Kilmer takes over for Micheal Keaton as Bruce Wayne / Batman. Bruce Wayne (Val Kilmer) this time is battling The Riddler (Jim Carey) and Two-Face (Tommy Lee Jones) while also trying to woe Dr. Chase Meridian (Nicole Kidman). The movie features the exact opposite of the first two films. This time more color is used, and Batman speaks more. Batman always been a quiet public figure, yet in this film he speaks alot. Another difference is the entrance of a new Batmobile, the other classic one was destroyed by Penquin in BR. This film features the cameo of Chris O'Donnell as Robin. In the end Batman and Robin team up to destory the duo of Ridder and Two-Face. This film is descent, but no where near the standard of the first two films. I mean common - bat nipples, NO!!! 3 / 5

MOVIE : Batman and Robin [PG-13]
This is by far one of the worst movies EVER. Schumaker returns this time around and does worse then before. George Clooney takes over for Val Kilmer as Bruce Wayne / Batman and he does it horrible. Bruce Wayne (George Clooney) is once again teamed up with Robin as they battle Mr. Freeze (Arnold Swarzeneggar) and Poison Ivy (Uma Thuman). Half way through Alfred's niece (Alicia Silverstone) stops by to get him to leave the butler business. She sneaks around and finds the Batcave, much like Robin did in BF, and is given a Batsuit and such. One sad note is that Alfred is given this disease and the only help is that of Mr. Freeze, and in the end everything works out and they realize they all killed the franchise - oh yeah the bat nipples returned. This movie was aweful to even watch. Hollywood has taken Bruce Wayne / Batman from Dark Knight to Playboy. [I]Little tidbit is that John Glover a.k.a. Lionel Luthor is the doctor in the movie who creates Poison Ivy.1 / 5

Batman Begins is sure to one of the best films, and even if it doesn't live up to the hype of the first film, it can't be worst then the last two Batman films. I am just glad that Schumaker has nothing to do with it.

MOVIE : The Ring Two [PG-13]
This is one of my most 'look forward to' movies, and I was not dissapointed. The Ring Two picks up six months after the first film and Racheal (Naomi Watts) and her son Aiden now live in new city; however, the result is that same. The tape finds it way back to Rachel and Aiden and the trouble starts back up. Since the first film the tape copy is being copied and copied around the states. Once someone watches it, someone else must watch it or they die. This time Samara takes over Aiden and wants to be real. Not to give too much away, but Rachel finally discovers the truth behind the tape, and in the end sets it right.. Sissy Spacek ("Carrie") delivers a good cameo as Samara's true mother, and Emily Van Camp ("Everwood") is a teen in the beginning. The sequel delivers good scares, and great storyline. MOVIE : The Incredibles [PG]
This is the best CGI animated film I have seen yet. The Shrek series was good, but this film takes the honor of top rank in my opinion. The world is filled with superheros such as Mr. Incredible, Elasticgirl, and Frozone. All is great till Mr. Incredible saves a suicide jumper and gets sued. After tons of lame lawsuits towards superheros, the government relocates the Superheros to live normal lives. At the top of his game, Mr. Incredible had a number one fan named Buddy, who appears later in the film as the main villian named Syndrome. Mr. Incredible and Elasticgirl marry and have kids and try to lead a normal life, yet years later when the kids are in their teens Syndrome makes his move. Angry at Mr. Incredible for ditching him, he comes back trying to get revenge. Mr. Incredible comes out of retirement for one last time, yet he is captured and relies on his superhero family to rescue him. The family has powers, and in the end society takes the superhero society back to open arms after the world is saved from Syndrome's insanity. I really enjoyed this film alot, and I would recommend it for anyone at any age. 5 / 5

MOVIE : Miss Congeniality 2 [PG-13]
Surprisingly this was a good sequel to the original Miss Congeniality. The original sent Gracie Hart (Sandra Bullock) to a beauty pageant to stop a crime. This time in the sequel, Gracie Hart is dealing with her fame, but in all the wrong places and times. The movie starts in a sting operation where Gracie is a key agent, but is interupted with a dumb bimbo notices its her and asks for her autograph. Gracie teams up with Sam (Regina King) as they try to save Miss America and Stan, from the first film. T.Williams (Everwood) stars as head of the FBI in Las Vegas, and E.Murciano (Without a Trace) is the new male role in the film. Laughter and amusement fills this movie at every moment. This film was a good chick flick that delivered the same laughs as the first film. 3 / 5

Album: Final Straw
This is one of my favourite bands that I discovered in 2004. They are a group from Scotland who have really wonderful melodies and bright, cheerful lyrics. In terms of their sound, they remind me a lot of Coldplay and Keane.
Currently, you might be able to hear their single "Run" on the radio stations and MTV. I have to say that it is a really good song but not the best on the album.
Here is my song by song review:
How To Be Dead - Very nice flow to this song. Singer pauses very rarely in this one. It gives a good feel for the rest of the album.
Wow- This song is one of their hardest in terms of guitar play. It has its moments but is not one of my favourites.
Gleaming Auction- This is my favourite. It's a song to listen to when you are having a bad day. It cheers me up all the time. Really brilliant stuff.
Whatever's Left- One of their shorter songs. "You must know that i'll follow you." It has its moments.
Spitting Games- Another one of their singles. This song reminds me of when I was in highschool. And that's a good thing. Chorus is pure melody in this one.
Chocolate- One of the masterpieces of the album. I recommend you listen to this song first. It used to be my favourite. I instantly liked this one. "This is the straw, final straw, in the roof of my mouth as I run to you."
Run- The most popular song, one of the longer ones too. This song will please most audiences. My 3rd favourite on the album
Grazed Knees- One of the slowest songs on the album. I love it, it is their style that I just cling to.
Ways and Means- My friend's favourite. It is a bit too long for my taste but it is an above average song for sure. About Motivation really.
Tiny Little Fractures- Another song that helps me cheer up. I love the chorus, which is mainly just Woah-ing.
Somewhere a Clock is Ticking- This song is beginning to really grow on me. I predict that it might become one of my favourites.
Same- This is a good song, but not the one I would have chosen to close the album. Chocolate should have been there.
Well there you go ladies and gentlemen. A really great band that must not be missed. Pick up their album, and thank me later

Album: The End of Heartache
This has been a favourite band of mine for quite some time now. This is their third album, featuring new lead singer Howard Jones. What to expect when you listen to this album? Some really explosive vocals featuring good singing as well as screaming. The music is always really heavy, and when the melody comes into play the effect is just overwhelming.
And I never recommend an album with only a few good songs. Every song on this album is of the highest quality. If you don't mind some really hard stuff, then check this one out. I also recommend their previous two releases "Killswitch Engage" and "Alive or Just Breathing".

MOVIE : The Amityville Horror (2005) [R]
Micheal Bay, director of 2005 TCM remake, has done it once again with a old horror classic. The original was a cult classic from my parents' day, but this film lives up to the original according to older viewers. The film keeps the 1970's timeframe, but enters a new cast and more scares. Ryan Reynolds stars as Mr. Lutz who, with his family who he married into, move into a old house in which is told to hold a curse. The movie starts out with a man named Ronnie who was the first tenant. You watch quick clips of him going insane and killing his family. The camera then fasts forwards to present time with the Lutz family moving in. After a mere couple of days, Mr. Lutz begins to loose it, and the old house habits start back up. One of the scariest scenes in the movie is when Mr. and Lrs. Lutz are engaging into sex when he looks over and a girl is hanging herself while shaking frantically, yet he and the girl are the only ones to see her. In the beginning of the movie, the man went crazy and killed his family - this time Mr. Lutz does the same, but his family is tougher and fights him off. The ending is when they drive away on a boat away from the house, and never look back. . This movie in a way resembles Stephen King's The Shining AND Rose Red. All the films feature houses in which are possessed, and cause destruction among the inhabitants. This was by far the scariest film yet - not the grossest (title goes to Saw), but it was scariest. If you want a good scary movie this would be it. Ryan Reynolds delivers a great performance in one of his major first roles. All around good film. 4 / 5

MOVIE : Star Wars Episode III : Revenge of the Sith [PG-13]
I left this movie feeling that I just saw an awesome movie, comparable to that of the original Star Wars films. The story is very simple to explain. The War continues from Episode 2, yet the Dark Side is moving closer to Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen). General Grevious is the leader of the droid army, in which he is one of the main villians this time around. Half way through the movie, the Chanellor reveals that he is the hidden Sith Lord while then he converts Anakin to the dark side in telling him he can safe his wife Padme (Natalie Portman). Anakin has visions that Padme dies while giving birth to his offspring:Luke and Leia. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) is deeply saddened when it is revealed that Anakin has turned on the light side of the force. The end is the best part of the entire movie. Kenobi and Skywalker battle it out on a volcanic planet. Towards the end of the entire movie as we all know, Anakin becomes Darth Vader and unfortuneatly Padme dies. Luke and Leia are seperated after birth, in which they reunite in Episode 4.
This movie is rated PG-13, and is worth it. The other Star Wars have been PG, but this one is in deed much more violent and gruesome. Many deaths are present, and violence is present throughout the entire movie. I loved this movie - almost as much as Episode 4. FINALLY a good Star Wars Prequel. 4 / 5

In the newest Cd from the Hawaii native, Jack keeps on with his soothing sounds. Warning: Jack Johnson's music is in the category with others like the Wallflowers and Dave Matthews. If you dont like them, theres only a slight chance you'll like Jack. I like this music though so I think its great. In case you didnt know, most of his music is unplugged, but the guitar is so good its still noticeable. If you dont know who this is, he's had past hits like "Flake" in 03 and now "Sitting Waiting Wishing". This is great music, but geared towards fans of the type of music. 4.5/5

MOVIE : Mr. and Mrs. Smith [PG-13]
This is the film that supposedly killed the Pitt family. Brad Pitt stars as Mr. Smith along with his counterpart Mrs. Smith played by Angelina Jolie. The couple are spys who live together, but dont know each other's dirty little secret. The two are sent by their own spy agencies to go and kill a operative. They both fail the mission because they got in each other's way. They figure each other, and the war begins. Near the end, there is a bounty on the couple and the agencies try and kill them both. The target was for them to try and kill each other instead of the target operative. Once the duo finds this out they unleash a war onto the other agencies, and come out alive. Throughout the movie the couple is in counseling, and in the end is a rather hilarious comment made by Mr. Smith.. The movie has everything a good movie should have: action, drama, suspense, and a hint of comedy. Mr. and Mrs. Smith is a great movie. Pitt and Jolie are a great team, and I wouldn't be surprised if a sequel makes its way around in a couple of years. 4/5

MOVIE : Batman Begins [PG-13]
Well, I just caught the midnight first showing of Batman Begins, and WOW! I never thought this could happen, but Batman Begins is BETTER than Batman. This movie stayed true to the origins, and really was a hell of a ride. Every character and actor, scene and background, twist and turn was perfected in the minds of David Goyer (writer) and Chris Nolan (director). Christian Bale played Bruce Wayne/Batman to that of Micheal Keaton, in which no other Bat-actor has yet accomplished. Michael Kane played Alfred the Butler with great skill and poise. The always great Morgan Freeman played Lucious Fox, employee at Wayne Enterprises who creates Bat weapons, with the up most respect to the work at hand. 28 Days Later star Cillian Murphy was brillant with his character Scarecrow. The effects of the scarecrow were psychologically disturbing, in which enhanced the movie throughout. Last Samurai Ken Wantanbe played Raul Al Goul (sp?) with the same loyality as in his previous movie. His accent and culture play into his acting ability. Katie Holmes plays Rachel, Bruce Wayne's childhood friend and future sweetheart. She played the part with ease, and love to the character's work. Gary Oldman plays Jim Gordon, who in the future is Comm. Gordon, in which Oldman gives the character reason for future movies.
This movie unveils the true nature of Bruce Wayne's travels from his parent's death to across the world, and then back to save Gotham from the criminals led by Viscomie, a crime lord taking over Gotham. Raul Al Goul across the globe saves Wayne from his near death, but when choice comes to choice Wayne burns down his palace, and leaves for Gotham to rebuild. League of Shadows are Goul's group of warriors who in the end try to poison the city using hypnotic gas, created by Scarecrow, and use it to make the citizens of Gotham go crazy. Batman foils the plot that is after the League of shadows comes and destroys the Wayne Mansion. In the end, Batman and Gordon are now a team. Gordon hands Batman a card and says we have a new guy in town who wears bright colors and hops on roof tops. The Batmobile was the best part along with the new symbol. I loved this film every minute of it, which was 2Hours and 15Minutes. Only downside if I had to make one was the way Bale changed voices of Wayne and Batman. It wasn't too big, but you could tell. 6.5/5

MOVIE : War of the Worlds [PG-13]
This was one of the best films that I have seen in a long time, especially from Tom Cruise. The film is a rather simple concept on that Aliens, who have been here before humans, have awaken during a lightning storm in which brought life to the creatures. The tripods begin killing everyone and everything in sight. Tom Cruise plays a father who basically is a bad father. His kids can't stand him, and his ex-wife is about to have another baby with ehr new man. The kids are at his house for the weekend, while the mom is in Boston. During the weekend, the Aliens strike and Tom is on the run with the kids. The ending is rather bittersweet to the story, and I think it fits it very well. The film features great acting on all parts, and wonderul storyline. This is Tom Cruise at his best, and The Last Samurai a close second. Great film with amazing effects. 5/5

MOVIE : House of Wax [R]
Well this was what you could call a teen-gore fest. The film began like every other horror movie where a group of kids decide to spend the night on a location unknown to them. Time passes and they find out that this guy they pissed off the night before tore the fan belt so they head off to the deserted town looking for one. They meet this guy in town who tries to help them, but really is the brother of the main killer. The whole group, who split up, rejoin at this town and then the terror begins. The teens get picked one by one and then turned into wax. Everyone in the town is real, yet covered in wax. The best part of the whole film was watching Paris Hilton getting slaughtered - YES!!!!! Other then that, the film as a whole is ok. Reminded me of The Texas Chainsaw Masacre - killer after them, the kids get killed one by one. Great "wax" effects, and ok acting, but the film lacks story. The movie flows, but it just dosen't work. By the end of the film I just wanted them all to die!!!! Rent it, Don't buy it . . . 2/5

The Butterfly Effect meets One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest . . . this movie is very trippy and pyschological, but very well put together. Jack Starks (A. While hitchhiking he helps a drunk mother and daughter get their car working, and during that time he bounds with the young girl. After that he hitchs a ride with a yet-known-killer and gets framed. Then he gets thrown into a psych ward for his crimes that he cannot remember. During this time, a doctor is trying a medication where they lock Starks in a cabinet with a straitjacket. During that time he is able to propel himself into the future where he meets the now grown up girl (K. Knightley) from before. He finds out that he died 4 days after being put into the jacket. While he is in the future he must figure out how he dies and who does it. The ending is very complex and difficult to discuss, yet I feel it gives the movie justice. Very good film. 4.5/5

This movie is one of the funniest from Will Smith, and with the help of Kevin James. Alex 'Hitch' Hitchins (W.Smith) is the mythological date doctor. His next assignment is Arthur (Kevin James) and the prize is a very wealthy heiress. During this period, Hitch is trying to hook up with Sarah (Eva Mendes), but he can't find his rythm. The movie continues with Arthur going great, and Hitch as well. Sarah is a gossip columist whose friend was slept with a guy and then dumped, and as he left he said "what a great date doctor" (sarcasm) so from then on Sarah is in search of this date doctor, who in fact in a set up is revealed to be Hitch. Sarah feels used so she pulls the plug and reveals to the world that Alex Hitchens is the date doctor. His world is turned upside down when his gift is revealed. Arthur is part the revelation to the world so therefore his life is ruined as well. In the end, Hitch reveals he loved Sarah. Also during this point, The heiress finds out Hitch gave nothing to Arthur other then confidence so she loved him and he really loved her. They end up marrying and the movie closes out on the wedding. Funny movie all around. 4/5

This movie holds rank among X-Men and Spider-Man as great comic book adaptations. Reed Richards (Ioan Gruffudd) calls upon money and power in Victor Von Doom (Julian McMahon) to propel them into space to conduct a experiment. During the mission, it goes wrong and inhibits a special dna reconstruction that turns the rest of the crew aboard into superheros. Jessica Alba stars as Sue Storm, Chris Evans as Johnny Storm, and Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm. Mr. Fantastic (Richards), Invisible Woman (S. Storm), Human Torch (J. Storm), and The Thing (Grimm) complete the Fantastic Four to battle Dr. Doom (Von Doom). Doom is able to use electricity to his own will. The movie in the end has the foursome battling in the streets and what a show. This movie has great chemistry between the quartet, and it shows. The real world scenerio is wonderfully portrayed with the demons within The Thing's mindset. Gruffudd and Alba show pretty good chemistry. MOVIE : Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) [PG]
This movie is a remake that in my mind is better then the original. Even though Gene Wilder created Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Johnny Depp is a perfect substitute. Depp brings his unique acting ability to weird roles and gives Wonka new life. The story remains the same about the golden tickets and touring the plant. Minor tweaks here and there, but it remains the same. One tweak is that in the original Charlie only had one parent, mother, but in the new version he has both father and mother. Also some parent changes are in order, but the meaning stays the same, and even the ending is the same but extended. Deep Roy as the main Oompa Loompa is hilarious as they use him to create 164 other Loompas. The new songs and scenes are hilarious. Loved the new version, ever better then the first one. 4.5/5

MOVIE: Fantastic Four (PG - UK Rating)
Took my brother to see it last night, not a bad film but not as good as Batman/Spiderman. It's certainly been aimed more at a younger audience and has a lot more humour than the more serious films. Decent performances from all involved, but especially Chilikis as The Thing.
We've been reading the Marvel Knights Fantastic Four comic for the last 6 months or so as preperation for the film to know the back story, and they've done a reasonable job of bringing a lot of the details to the silver screen but there's certainly room for more in the inevitable (and I think, already announced) sequel(s).
Overall, 3.5/5. Not a classic but damn good entertainment and a fine addition to the comic book movies genre.

CD : All-American Rejects Move Along
Follow up to the successful self titled debut album, the All-American Rejects bring Move Along shortly after a two year writing process. The new album brings much the same elements that made the first one successful, but takes it up a notch. "Dirty Little Secret" and "Move Along" are the first singles off the album in which they promote the core of the album. The combo of rock and pop are there in 80% of the songs, yet with the other 20% the albums offers variety. Some are hard, while as some are soft yet with a hint of uniqueness. "It Ends Tonight" and "Can't Take It" are the better soft songs on the album, while though it is not the mainstream rock that promotes it, it is the lyrics and the soft rifts. Great sophomore album . . . 4/5

CD : Coldplay X&Y
Coldplay is one of those groups that a nation awaits a follow-up album, and the wait could not have lasted any longer. X&Y offers the same feel as the previous album, but a bit more 'power' is shown in the variety of songs. The slower of the songs (ie. X&Y ) are slow, but offer great lyrics, where as the fast songs (ie. Speed of Sound and White Shadows) come at you quick, but the beat overlaps the song. This is a great album, and supposedly a wonderful 'makeout / sex' CD according to friends. Another great follow-up album . . . 5/5

Monkey Business is a great 'vibe' CD that you can throw in your car and just cruise life. MOVIE : The Grudge [PG-13]
The next in line of Chinese Remakes, The Grudge delivers more scares and darker walkways, but the culture is different and that is the only real negative about the movie. The chinese remakes have been remade in America, but this approach took the opposite - it inserted american people in Japan. The Chinese language is prominent with the people speaking it as well as ads and stores so it is hard to follow. The story is a bit shaky in that it is even hard to even describe here. Basically a crime was committed in a fit of rage and anger, and now who ever enters this house is in danger of its wrath. The creepy people are more realistic and scary then Samara from The Ring, but both films offer great scares and jumps (Child sits on a couch, and appears to scream but instead is the sound of a cat's scream). They recently released a extended unrated director's cut, and im sure that it is alot better only because it is not limited to the reach of PG-13. Good film . . . 3.5/5

I feel pretty bad writing this review because I loved John's work on Smallville, but The Dukes of Hazzard was pretty boring and it is not just the movie. The whole concept was just a bore and I think it was because I am not into the whole 'south' feel. The cast acted well, but as one of the original cast members said . . . "too much sex and language", and the quote was right on. Jessica Simpson had like 4 outfits, and 2 were bikinis. Not that I am complaining, but the movie was not my cup of tea. Following Frank Miller's work to the T, Robert Rodriguez teams with the famed comic book artist and storyteller to bring it to the screen. This is the most direct adaptation of a comic book and it works on numerous levels, but the dialogue at times suffers from being taken directly from the panels. Hot Fuss is one of my favorite albums that I own, and I will have to say that the concert lived up to my expectations of The Killers. The opening band, Louis XIV, was not that great, but it was better then a hometown street band. After around a 45-minute warmup from Louis XIV then a short intermission lead to the real deal, The Killers came out.
The band came out and automatically the crowd changed from mello to racious. They started out with "Jenny" and went through the basics . . . "Somebody Told Me" and "Mr. Brightside" . . . and ended with "All These Things That I've Done". Before that last song, Brandon asked everyone to lift their cell phones in a way to represent lighters to give that mood of a slow beat. Disc One has both versions (theatrical and extended); Disc Two has numerous featurettes and behind-the-scenes; Disc Three has alot of storyboards, promotions, and the design behind the movie itself. The new edition is worth every penny, because this movie is what I call a 'Classic'!! Still a 5 / 5

MOVIE : Sin City [R]
AMAZING!!! This creative portayal of the graphic novel by Frank Miller is marvelous. The entire movie is shot as nothing I myself have seen before. I love the technique how the only colors shown are dark tones. Language, Violence, and Sex make this movie a classic 'guy' movie. The movie spans over three stories taking place in Sin City each with a darkened tale. Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Mickey Rouke, Brittney Murphy, Clive Owen, and Alexis Bledel are just some of the names to grace the movie justice. Great movie. 5/5

MOVIE : White Noise [PG-13]
Micheal Keaton returns to the big screen in a quite 'unique' way involving EVP. Electronic Voice Phenomenon is what the movie is based upon in that Keaton's wife passes away and is told from a stranger that in fact his wife is still alive in another reality. Through this stranger and his EVP recordings, his wife is heard, but in fact helps other people out. The story is rather hard to describe because there are so many twist and turns that even in the end the questions still remain. Still a good popcorn flick, but not Keaton's best . . . Batman still holds reign. 3.5/5

MOVIE Alexander DC [R]
This movie is the WORST period piece in that it is so confusing I kept pausing it to catch up. It flip flops between time periods back and forth, and the characters are so confusing to remember. The battles scenes were ok, but the movie lacked something that I can not yet name. By no means is this comparable to Gladiator, The Last Samurai, King Arthur, or Troy in that it does not have that spark. From what I gathered the movie is about Alexander and his travels from being a boy to the main who conquers many cultures. Val Kilmer, Anthony Hopkins, Angelina Jolie, and Colin Farrell all due their characters justice, but the movie does not hold well. What made this movie worse was Colin's @$$ and man-man scenes. If you have seen the movie you know what I am refering to. 3/5

Movie: Brother's Grimm (PG - I think)
This movie is really bad. It is about two brothers who are con artists who pretend to deal the supernatural. But they don't believe it. They also con people out of money by claiming exorize witches and the like from towns they go to.
Well through a set of events they end up having to deal with a real witch (I think she was a witch). Actually this story made little sense. It got so bad I left about 10 minutes before it ended. I had a friend who stayed and watched the whole thing.
If you want to see a good adventure story, don't see this piece of junk. 0/5
BABE ALERT: The girl (Monica ???) who played the French man's wife in Matrix Reloaded was in it very briefly.

I actually enjoyed BROTHER'S GRIMM. Rating was actually PG-13. Terry Gilliam in my mind is a director that makes movies more or less not directed at the main stream and he continues to prove that testament with Brother's Grimm.
RING 2 (PG-13)
I'm a fan of the original RING remake, so I kicked myself into gear and actually bought this puppy. The only stand out in this movie was Naomi Watts as always but the story was so boring I zoned it out. RINGS, the mini-film is far superior to this sequel.
BABE ALERT: Naomi Watts.
Rating: 1/5

MOVIE : Sahara [PG-13]
"Indiana Jones meets James Bond" is how the studio marketed the film, and it lived up to expectations. This film looked rather interesting in that it was set in the desert, but also had modern themes of pollution involved and a treasure. In some ways it represented history the same way that National Treasure in adventure, but kept true to the real history aspect. Matthew McConaghey, Penelope' Cruz, and Steve Zahn star as a trio who embark on a mission to find a ship hidden while searching for it, they unlock a pollution scam and so forth. This film is a good popcorn flick to watch any night of the week. 4 / 5
BABE ALERT : Penelope' Cruz

MOVIE : The Machinist [R]
"Disturbing" is just one word to describe this movie. Christian Bale is a marvel at his weight loss for this film . . . it is almost unspeakable. Bale stars as machine worker who has not slept in over one year, and slowly his body is breaking down. Throughout the movie, there are many scenes where you can see the outline of his ribs. The ending is twisted and creative, and I won't ruin it for you, but this film is more of an art film then a true hollywood film. Look at it as a work of art rather then a real "bright lights" movie. Not for the faint of heart . . . 3 / 5

MUSIC : Lifehouse Lifehouse
Jimmy Eats World meets Yellowcard . . . mellow and unique all at the same time, and it works. Before 'Spirit' I was not really a big Lifehouse fan, but afterwards I was. The songs from the episode are really great, and while the rest are not up to par, they at least complete the album. This is a CD you can pop into your car and just go . . . no changing. Such songs as "Come Back Down", "You and Me", and "Days Go By" are just some of my personal favorites, but you make you own call. This is a great album and worth picking up. I would consider Lifehosue more of the Smallville Band then Remy Zero. 4.5 / 5

MUSIC : Howie Day Stop All the World Now : Special Edition
What a surprise . . . when I heard "collide" on the radio and then saw the music video I was impressed, but nothing more, that was until I heard "she says" and it was another great song from Mr. Day. So I went out and after hearing some friend's good recommedations I went and picked up the album. The album is a good listen especially if your in a state of depression being caused by a break-up hence what I went through. 'Mello' is what I could call it because the songs flow from the first to the last. Such songs as popular "collide" and "she says" are the best, but the album also features good tunes from "this time around" and "brace yourself" . . . the album is worth buying, especially the special edition which has acoustic versions of "brace yourself" and "collide". 5 / 5

. . . I didn't do a holiday movie wrap-up last year, but this year will be different because here is my movie review guide to the holidays . . .
MOVIE : Elf [PG]
This is a holiday classic in my opinion. Buddy the Elf (Will Ferrell) was raised by elfs and Santa Clause, but now since he is older and not small like the other elves, they send him to New York so he can meet his real father. His father (James Caan) rejects him until a DNA test, and then he tries to convert him to the business world. While Buddy takes in the NY scenery he meets up with Jovie (Zooey Deschanel) who works as an elf at a retail store. Buddy the elf gets his father in trouble, and is told to leave, yet during his departure he sees Santa's sleigh coming down and Buddy is the only one who can fix the damage. His sleigh can't fly because people do not believe in Santa anymore. Buddy gets it working, and makes everyone believe in Christmas again. Jovie and Buddy end up together and have a child. In my opinion, one of Will Ferrell's best movies. 5 / 5

MOVIE : The Santa Clause [PG]
Tim Allen stars as the man in red in a new tale involving the big man. The Santa Claus(e) is that if the real santa dies, the finder who puts on the suit therefore becomes Santa. Santa fell off of Scott Calvin's (Tim Allen) roof, and he puts on the suit and becomes Santa Clause. He finishes that current Christmas, and then for the next year he become fat (and jolly) and grows white hair. Things become very difficult for Calvin and the 'law', yet with the help of his son (Eric Lloyd) and Bernard (David Krumholtz from Numb3rs the team prevails and Christmas is saved. This movie is not really a classic Christmas movie, but it is a good watch. 3 / 5

MOVIE : The Santa Clause 2 [G]
This movie is the sequel to the first Santa Clause, and continues the trials and tribulations of Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) as Santa Clause. This time it is eight years later, and there is a new clause where Santa Clause has to be married (Mrs. Clause) before the next Christmas, which is only a couple of months, or he will loose the power to be Santa Clause. As he searches for a mate, Charlie has been bad and is on the naughty list. As Calvin tries to help Charlie, he must also try and find a mate to be Mrs. Clause. Calvin becomes involved with Charlie's enemy, his school principal (Elizabeth Mitchell). Time goes on, and while this is happening a clone of Santa created to keep the north pole running turns psycho and wants to rule it all. He becomes Santa-Hilter, and so forth Calvin with the help of Bernard (David Krumholtz), his son, and the princpal save christmas, but time is gone. Calvin proposes to the principal, and she accepts and then Christmas is once again saved. A rare find . . . a sequel better then the original. 4 / 5
BABE ALERT : Elizabeth Mitchell
* The Santa Clause 3 is currently being put into production for release next christmas time period. The story features once again Scott Calvin, this time battling Jack Frost for the right of the image of Christmas. So forth that is all the detail being released right now, but I am sure that the same characters will all be used once again from the first and second installments.

MOVIE : A Christmas Story [PG]
Now this is a classic christmas movie. We all have seen it, if you haven't seen it . . . it comes on 24 hours on TBS on Christmas Eve. The movie is based on Raphie's attempt to get a Red Ryder BB gun, but no one will get it for him - even Santa says so - because "you'll shoot your eyes out", and so forth he tries everything. The dream sequences are pretty funny in which Ralphie pictures how his life would turn out if it all worked out. "Ohhh ffuuddggee!" The movie is a wonderful classic tale of a boy and his dream christmas gift. I won't ruin the ending if you haven't seen it, but if you have you know what I am talking about. 6 / 5

MOVIE : National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation [PG-13]
Chevy Chase returns as Clark Griswold in the every funny 'Vacation' series. This time around the in laws are visiting, while at the same time Clark is having problems at work and getting a christmas bonus. Throughout the movie, Clark can't get anything done right. His house, which he hooked up all his lights together, can't work right because the switch was not turned on correctly. The in-laws are visiting, and the hell keeps on coming when Eddie (Randy Quaid) and family arrive in a disgusting RV. The couple next door is up-tight, and are always making their comments about the Griswolds. Everything is falling apart in Clark's life, but in the end it all becomes right. His dream is realized, and the Christmas spirit is alive in the Griswold household. This movie is considered a classic, but behind A Christmas Story. 4 / 5

MOVIE : Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas [PG]
Some might not consider this a christmas movie, but I do so tough cookies. Jack Skeleton is bored with the season always being halloween, so in his depressive states he comes across the woods in which all holiday doors are placed. He comes upon the christmas tree, which funny as it would be has a christmas tree on it and he falls in. While Jack is in Christmas town, he comes upon the new idea of that in which is christmas. He brings the idea back to halloween town and decides to kidnap the original Santa Clause and he will become the new Santa, yet deliver naughty / creepy toys. Word gets out about the evil toys, and the authorities attack the fake - santa which is really Jack. In the end, Jack realizes that he does not belong in Christmas town and returns the real Santa. The movie is from the unique mind of Tim Burton, and that alone already gives the movie credit. I like the movie, but it's no classic. Give it a watch or two, and be done. 3.5 / 5
