Question about Fan Art/Videos

Hello, I was just curious as to how people make the music videos/video videos in the Fan Art section...
any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated:)

I mean how do they get the clips?
Is there an alternate method to ripping the DVD's or downloading?

I think you need a moviemaker program.

I've been trying that, but I don't think I can edit the clips from the DVDs after I copy them onto my computer, short of ripping the DVD, which I don't really want to do... maybe I have the wrong moviemaker program? :confused:

If you have the right hardware and software, you can hook a VCR up to your computer and digitize VHS tapes. Most people don't have that capability since it is fairly old technology and not in much use anymore (analog)

You can get TV cards? How do they work?
I'm fairly certain I don't have the capability to hook up the vcr on my computer, but would you be able to install the software ... but I guess not because it's analog...
