Well, of course it's too early to tell if we'll like Jason or not, though most of us feel that the descriptions aren't very promising. But taking Pete off and replacing him with ANY regular is a mistake, in my opinion. I'm sure they could have found more for Pete to do if they'd only tried, and it would have been more interesting than the adventures of a rich, rebellious college football player. So on that basis, I vote for Pete.

I think they booted Pete because it would look weird for Clark & Lana to do mooney eyes behind Pete's back. Also it would've put their stupid hamster wheel to a screeching stop. Sadly, it would've given Pete & Lana an actually interesting storyline instead of the neverending secrets/lies mantra.

I bet we see Pete before you know it. He isnt gone completely. They needed to write off Pete to give all us viewers a reason why Clark cannot share his secret. They couldnt get Chloe and Pete together because of the Chlois thing, so Pete wasnt used much anymore. I dont think they wrote pete off to bring in JT, they both could have been on the show. But JT will be a love interest where Pete never was. I wish they would have done more with Chlete but they didnt. Even Plana would have been cool. But having Lex in the show made Clark's best friend job expendible.

with the other storylines Pete just didnt fit anymore. we barely saw him in season 3. to me he didnt belong anymore. they were almost forcing Pete to be in an episode which isnt fair to his character or the actor. sometimes you have to move on w/ other characters and hope they work as a way to revienate the series. i'm just saying we have get Jason a chance. he does sound like Whitney and little bit of Adam, but w/ that combo he will be a mixture and be Jason.

I... I feel tempted to say "then you shouldn't have voted", but the truth is that this poll should've been held off for a year. Even then, my vote would go to Pete. Can't beat the product placer...

Anyone to break up the Clana would be great, however, if I had to choose between this new Jason guy and Pete, I most definatly would go for Pete. And so, it would seem, would 40 others, to Jason's meger three.

I hate the description for Jason. It appears his only purpose is to keep Clark/Lana apart. I wouldn't mind if this was Dawson's Crap as I both hated and expected nothing from that drivel, but I'm tired of seeing it on a show about Young Superman.

The Jason character is a contrived plot device that is going to be a regular nuisance throughout S4.

Yes, she does talk to Lex and Clark about her problems. Thats all she gets to talk to, thats all she has. She doesnt trust Chloe. You will also see that Chloe does the same thing. We just havent seen Lois yet so we havent seen who CHloe confides in. The spoilers say they are like sisters, so I am guessing that Chloe has told Lois all about Clana and how she hates it.

But, by having a stable BF on the show other then Clark, Lana and CLark will be able to talk about things that do not revolve around Clana. It will take their relationship to the next level. Clana may live again but their friendship will only get stronger. TPTB have been preparing us for Jason ever since Magnetic. Clark will be a lil jealous at first, but he will warm up and accept that Lana has moved on. Clark has his sights set on another now anyways.

They had no idea that this was going to be Petes last season or else they would given him a better send off than a rushed one. If anything they prepared for Adam in Magnetic

They were preparing us for Lana to have a new man. Adam was put in with lana quickly becuase they couldnt use Bruce Wayne. Adam Knight is completely different then Jason Teague. Adam wasnt here for Lana, Jason will be. Big difference.

no they knew from the start that couldnt bring in bruce wayne(cause of Batman Begins), Adam was never going to be bruce wayne, Adam was planned from the summer. I remember reading in the ksite archives that Lana would have a new love interest in s3, and we had him, it was Adam.

Also we dont really know the true extent of the Adana. How long was their relationship. Lana did care for him

Right before Season 3 started rumors and spoilers that BW would be on SV were circulating.

--It is said if all goes well, that Bruce Wayne will be showing up at some point during Season 3.

lana didnt care for him once he moved into the Talon, she became concerend and wanted to know what she got her self into.

I think they just renamed the character and moved him from Lexs attention to Lanas. I dont think they were going to have them meet in rehab and I dont think Adam was originally set to stay at the talon. But I dont know.

He's part of the mythos, and he's a great character (most of the time... when he's not chasing girls). Remember that first episode where the helmet was too big for him?? :D so funny!!

I don't mind Jason Teague, as a guest star. I guess we'll have to wait for S4 to see how his character pans out.

I voted for Jason. I got bored with Pete mid-way through S2. I don't blame SJIII. I blame the writers for not utilizing him.

I don't mind being the lone Jason defender on this board. :p And I could very well end up disliking the charcter but if Jason is going to play the role that I think he's going to play based on certain spoilers (and I don't mean the Clana obstacle) then I'm excited.

The part that Sam Jones III played was next to no screen time.

But that just shows how good Sam is as an actor. He took a part that was next to no screen time and still found a way to make us laugh and chuckle with his few lines that he got.

His scenes with Clark where he would give him woman advice were always entertaining.

Most of all Pete always had a way with words:

"Hey women dig me. Get used to it."

Al and Miles really messed up at putting Jason and Lana together so fast and soon after Clark and Lana had a falling out.

That dooms his character from the start. They should have made Jason Lana's new casual friend for a few episodes and then slowly get them together. But leed it to the crappy writing and TPTB to mess it up.

I am a huge Pete fan but i also will give the "new" guy a chance. But if you look @ all of the spoilers so far it looks like he is just like Pete.... no screen time. I guess they feel like they have to have another character and never give them screen time.

You guys have misunderstood, we dont like jason for these reasons.

1. Pete got replaced for a love interest of Lana's who will probably last 1 season.

2. Hes a regular, we would nt have hated him if he wasnt a regular, but as Lana's bf as a regular, we dont like him

3. Hes Whitney/Adam 2.0

4. The idea of jason is stupid, since Lana mad this fuss to be independent but still got a boyfriend.

2. Because he is a series regular leads me to believe his role is beyond being Lana's boyfriend. If he was JUST Lana's boyfriend, they could've made him a guest star. I have several ideas about where he fits in the story. I think spoilers are going to continue to play JT as just Lana's boyfriend so as to not give away the big reveal.

4. I think introducing Jason as Lana's boyfriend was the fastest way to get the character on the canvas without raising any suspicions. If he was introduced through Lex I would be very, very suspicious. He's Lana's boyfriend. No backstory necessary. And why does having a boyfriend automatically mean that you're not independent? When I think about the notion of an "independent woman" having or not having a boyfriend doesn't even factor in.

I just find it strange that this character is hated already, and most everyone isn't even going to think of giving it a chance. I wouldn't go in watching the new season of a show knowing there's a new character and think "Okay, there's the new guy. Get ready for some hatin'." I'm just saying it would make more sense if you watched the first episode, thought the character sucked, and then hated him.

Maybe you resent him for being there because you think they kicked out one of your favorite characters for him, and if so, resent away, but I'm just saying I'm keeping an open mind.

Lana does not have a HUGE part in the DCU. But i think that with Jason coming it is going to change her character. And with all of the Clana haters and honestly anything to do with Lana haters.... some people will NEVER be happy until she is gone....though i disagree with this. She has a vital part in Clark being who he is. and i think Jason can help change who she is...

Honestly I vote Jason. I liked his charectar more than I liked Lana, and by the end of the show when we discovered that he was evil I found him to be infinitely more interesting than Pete's charectar, who had become (due the writer's negligence) little more than a two-lines-per-episode charectar for Clark to explain things to (allowing the audience to understand). Jason actually had a point the the year long arc.

All that being said, I think Jason's usefulness to the show ended when season four ended.
