Did anyone watch the season premier tonight. I thought it was pretty funny. Thoughts?? Anyone??

I taped the episode, but I haven't watched it yet. However, the one thing that I wanted to clear up is that the show is still in season 2. Season 2 is continuing. For some reason, USA decided to have a 4 month gap in between episodes and split the season into two parts. The weird thing is that USA is plugging it as the start of a new season. But in reality, we are still in season 2.

As far as the show in general goes, I have been a fan since the first episode. I have every episode on tape. Tony Schloub has been a favorite actor of mine ever since he first became Antonio on Wings. The funniest thing happened the other day. I was watching the movie Quick Change with Bill Murray and Geena Davis. Tony Schloub was in the film, and he played a cab driver that couldn't speak any english. This really cracked me up, because being a cab driver is what made him big in the first place.

The latest episode Mr. Monk and the Paperboy was very good. I liked the hints towards Randal Disher and Sherona getting together. I have been a Randall/Sherona shipper since the start of the show. You could always tell they liked each other, by how much they tried to dislike each other. Next week's episode looks to be one of the best yet, because of the guest appearance from John Turturo. Turturo has always been a favorite actor of mine, so I am really looking forward to this episode.

I wanted to see this show since I first heard about it, because I think the guy who plays Monk is a great actor and can really be funny, and it sounded like a good idea for a detective show. But to this day I've only seen one episode, like twice, ha. It was on a vacation in a hotel that I finally got to see it. I hope to see more though. I'm not big on detective shows or cop shows, but I wish The Big Easy was still on, because I really wanted to get into it because I LOVE the movie. Remember the Big Easy? It was on USA too. I think it lasted two seasons. Wish it would come to DVD. For the second season it changed a lot. They made it less like the movie. Even got rid of the character Ellen Barkin played in the movie, and brought on a new, younger girl. I can't recall if I liked it better before the changes or after. I think Leslie Bib was the second girl, so I may have liked it better with her, because she was pretty cute, ha. But they changed the style of the whole show and I don't remember how it looked in detail. I think they made it darker and rougher. The First girl, Barkin's character in the film, was played by that girl who played Priscilla Presley in a TV movie, and looked a lot like her. She's kinda cute, but Bib was cuter. Okay, I'm babbling. Sorry for getting off topic too.

I think I missed most of last seasons shows. But, so far catching all this years. The stories are a bit far-fetched. So, the the main appeal is Tony Shaloub's character of Monk.
Love when people come into his house and he can't stand it as they move things.

The episode that I can't wait for is " Mr. Monk Goes to Jail". It will be hilarious watching Monk in jail with the other prisoners. If Monk drops the soap, he would probably spend an hour just trying to pick it up. LOL

The only thing I hate about the show is the way that USA airs it. We are still in season 2 right now. They aired 9 episodes with the last one airing on August 22nd. Then they waited to show all new episodes until January. That is one long ass intermission!! There are only 2 new episodes left, and then we have to wait until the summer for all new episodes.

I have two wishes for the show :

1) Monk finds out who killed his wife

2) Lt. Randall Disher and Sherona end up together. They are always baiting each other, and you know it is because of sexual tension. You just wanna yell : " do it and get it over with already".

By the way, did anyone ever watch the show Wings? It is the funniest show ever in my opinion. It is what made me a die hard fan of Tony Schloub. Man, I love that show. I have every episode on tape, and even though I have seen the entire series many times, I still can't get enough of it.

Yet another thing we share in common. Monk is one of my all time favorite shows. I have seen every episode from the pilot episode. Tony Shaloub is one of my favorite actors as well. Wings is probably my second favorite show of all time behind Quantum Leap, and Tony's character Antonio on Wings made me laugh harder than I ever have in my life. Tony is great as Monk as well. However, I watch Monk more for the crime element and detective work than I do for the laughs.

The best episode of Monk they ever did was Mr. Monk goes to Mexico. The case was a complicated one because the victim supposedly drowned in mid-air skydiving, someone was trying to kill Monk, and the funniest thing I have ever seen on the show was watching Monk try to get his hands on a bottle of Sierra Springs water.

By the way, do you watch Dead Zone on USA as well? I like Dead Zone even more than Monk. The second season of the Dead Zone was probably one of the most well rounded and most enjoyable seasons of any television show I have ever seen. It was neck and neck with the third season of Smallville for me. It was that good.

actually i DON'T watch Dead Zone... i don't know why either, i watched a little of the premier. and was all ...where the hell is christopher walken? my friend LOVES it tho, and tivos every show, then puts it on disc. he's trying to get me into it.. i have TOO many shows tho.

but USA network does kick ass with shows lately... i finally saw the 4400 you were talking about. i acyually said

but it was quite heart wrenching the final scene about trudy, i actually cried. VERY well written.

They had a monk marathon during the olympics, and I finally saw the eppy when we meet monk's brother. OMG, i nearly cried. That was so good.

I have seen every episode of Monk since the pilot. It is probably one of my all time favorite shows. The reason I watched the pilot was because I loved Tony as Antonio in Wings. I was curious how he would do in the part. He turned out to be perfect. They are doing the same thing they did for season three, that they did for season two in which they air nine episodes, take a five month hiatus, and then air the rest of the episodes. Season three started out horrible with Monk going to Manhattan, and the killer monkey. But after that, season three became extremely good. Up until season three my favorite episode was Monk going to Mexico. However, Monk and the Game Show became my favorite episode.

I think the saddest thing that I have heard regarding the show recently is the fact that Sharona is no longer going to be character on the show. Bitty Schram got into contract disputes and nothing was ever resolved. I never thought that Monk could jump the shark, but with Sherona gone it just might. The dynamic between Monk and Sherona is one of the best aspects of the show.

'Monk' on USA? My Dad was watching it one day and I sat down and started to watch it too. I'm totally addicted now! Anyone watch Monk?

I think Tony Shaloub is absolutely hilarious. I guess as a big fan of Wings, I am biased. He seems like a pretty versatile actor, and the story lines keep you guessing (most of the time).

It's on the USA network over here... It's about an obsessive-compulsive detective who is a genius at paying attention to details. His wife (FBI agent) was murdered so he is trying to find her killer.
First 2 seasons are on DVD. I like it, but, not enough to buy 'em. They want 43 dollars and there are only like 15 episodes a season... pure ripoff.

Season Finale - he didn't turn into a jerk, he lost his ability to solve cases like normal because he was not as obsessive.

I don't know why, but, they had Sharona move back to Jersey with benji to reconcile with the ex.

Monk is one of my favorite shows actually. I have been a huge fan of Tony's ever since his work as Antonio in Wings(which is the funniest show I have ever seen). The show combines first rate detective drama, with great comedy. The concept of having a so called "Sherlock Holmes who is afraid of everything" makes for a great show.

I have not seen the start of season three's second half yet, but I cannot wait to start watching once I have taped the rest of the episodes this season.

The best season of Monk for me anyways was season two. My favorite episode is still Mr. Monk Goes to Mexico.

I am bummed that Bitty will no longer be playing Sharona on the show however. It just won't be the same without her.

Does it bug anyone else that USA splits seasons up into two parts? I wish they would just air the whole season.

I didn't know his wife was an agent, . I guess i would have liked to see sharona help him catch the killer, but natalie seems worthy. The more this season goes by, the less I miss Sharona. They are starting to leave out details though. He travels more, but, in the first 2 seasons they would show his problems with it, now, they just skip it. Do they want us to think he is getting better?

ya i agree. there have been a couple episodes when she tried to make monk realize he had people who cared but monk just sees them as co workers and what not and probably only feels they like him because they work with him. hopefully in the finale he realizes how much they care about him. maybe near the end monk will have a near death experience and have one of those out of body scenes where he sees someone from his past. maybe he will see trudy and she will tell him how much people love him.

i never realized how many people at my workplace watched monk until i cracked a small joke. there was a display in the store where all the items were out of place. there were medium sized boxes but they were all pushed all around. so one of the employees went and tried to straighten them up to make them look presentable. they were all right and would have passed if the boss had seen them. but they weren't perfectly aligned. one of the other employees noticed this and went started lining them all up. he even back up a little and did that thing monk does with his hands, he even moved his head around a little. i'm looking at him and then walk up to him ask him what he's doing. he's like "i'm just trying to get all these boxes lined up perfectly". so i'm like "ok monk, get on that case." there were at least 6 other people there and they all got it. everyone got it except for the guy i called monk. he didn't know why people were laughing.

you know what i wish. i wish monk would find true love again.

I loved the part with the smoking bag.
It's so sad when Monk can find someone to relate to when it comes to murdered wives.
I love how the guest thought Natalie was funny.
I liked this week's summation.
Randy trying to impress the CSI with pretending to not get sick with the smell of the dead body was great too.
I like how Natalie teased Randy about it.
The Captain warning Monk with noticing that he was helping the guest because of Trudy was very sweet.

After the super-obsessed fans from the premiere and the "internet people" from this week's episode is "Monk" trying to tell us something?

My favorite parts of this week's episode are whenever when he was talking to the "internet people" and the scene where Natalie tried to convince him to get help. I love the way he started to lose his sanity there for awhile.

That bridge in the beginning looked like the one from "Supernatural" to me too.

I want to know what happened at the wedding they were coming back to in the first scene.

That mechanic can really hold a grudge.

i haven't seen the little monk webisode yet. that's why i'm asking.

now i'm being monkish. the other day something happened that made me realize how monkish i can be.

ok, here's what happened....

i was at my house and in my room and didn't realize that my dad had let himself in. I guess he was just stopping by for a few minutes before he had to go somewhere else. but i made my way to kitchen at some point and found my dad leaning over the kitchen sink. i couldn't tell what he was doing but when i finally looked over his shoulder i realized he was having trouble trying to open a brand new bottle of honey barbecue sauce i had bought several days earlier. i asked him what he was doing and he said he just wanted to taste it, to see what it was like. i told him there was already an open bottle in the cabinet where he had gotten that one. so he looks again and finds it. he puts the new bottle back up and takes the open one. i'm thinking he was going to take the cap off and pour some out and try it. but nope. he sticks his entire huge finger in the bottle, rubs it around, covering it in sauce. meanwhile i'm starting to gross out and gag. he then sticks his finger in his mouth and licks the sauce off. then he sticks his finger back in the bottle and i start to freak out. i'm going "no no no". my dad does this several more times and then finally puts the cap on the bottle and the bottle back into the cabinet. before he walks out of the kitchen he says it tasted good. he walks out and i'm standing there for a few seconds trying to stop from yelling out obscenities. then i go grab the bottle he just stuck his sticky finger in, looked at it in disgust, and then threw it in the garbage can. i know he's my dad but it was so gross to me. i was twitching when he was doing all that. oh man.

The part with the refridgerator was great. The staredown actually worked! Monk's definitely getting more confidence! The next episode in two weeks looks good too.

Yeah, it's two weeks, but on the positive side that means that there will be a little more time before the series ends.

There's also going to be a marathon soon, to celebrate Tony Shaloub getting nominated at the Emmy's again. I can't wait to re-watch, I love marathons.
