I just finished watching "Tomb", and by Smallville standards, I thought this episode was incredibly dark. It didn't really occur to me how dark until the orderly was holding Lois and Gretchen/Chloe in his basement and explaining why he was going to kill them - he came across as truly psychotic and extremely dangerous, far more so than the usual FOTWs. The interaction between him and Gretchen was very creepy as well, which brings me onto how amazing Allison Mack was in this episode, but that's for another thread.

What do you think? Was this Smallville's darkest episode?

I think the Majority of season 8 was much darker than this.
