Smallville without Clark?? Wouldn't the show be over?

In answer to your question--heck, no!

Your poll is confusing. You're asking "Will you stop watching if Clark left?"
My answer is yes, I would stop watching. But your option is "Yes, I love the show no matter what"??

LOL! I couldn't vote either. The choices don't match the question.

Would I watch a show based on Superman without anything based on Superman. I think that answers itself. However like the question, the choices you gave us made no sense.

No Clark, No Smallville.

Chloe is Smallville

Believe or not, not every Smallville fan watches for Clark. As long as Chloe's in, I'm in.

Uhh...yes! What would the show be about if Clark Kent left? :o

A Soap Opera, that's what it would be without CK - every girl would fall in love with a villain and the ONLY one who will save them is a NEW villain in each episode and so the vicious cycle continues :D :rotfl:

No Clark Kent = No Smallville, hence No Smallville = No Chloe.

He's the only character for where there'd be no show...unlike others.

I don't see why a show called SMALLVILLE can't carry on without Clark Kent... after all, he does LEAVE Smallville, and begin saving the whole world...

Let's get one thing straight: Clark Kent IS SMALLVILLE. Nuff said.

I adore the show and every character that has ever come through Smallville, but it's pointless without Clark. The whole point of the show is to see him growing up from a teenager into the Superhero he's destined to be. I just don't see the point of a show called Smallville without Clark in it. :)

This doesn't make even sense. This isn't like saying the show wouldn't be the same if (insert favorite character was no longer on it) its like having a show without its title character. Can't happen and not because we necessarily like the main character it just can't happen.

No I wouldn't... Superman doesn't exist without Clark Kent. Smallville would do just fine without the Emo-version of CK.

Smallville would crash and burn without Clark Kent. He is the reason for the show.

I guess that just doesn't register. Heck, the show would no longer exist without him.

But if Tom Welling (you know the actor who portrays Clark Kent), didn't re-sign...would there have been a season 9...NOPE!! I reiterate...NO CLARK KENT, NO SMALLVILLE.

I reiterate...I would continue watching without him. Because that was the question.

I know and that's why it would crash and burn. No Smallville without Tom Welling. Is that better:confused:

I would watch smallville with out welling if they replace him with superman and another actor that's cool with me .

The point of SV is to watch the early life of Superman, what's the point of SV without Clark?. Answer is clearly NO.

A Flawed Fashion
06-13-2010, 08:33 AM
With no Clark it wouldn't really be Smallville anymore. If Tom Welling wanted out and some of the side actors wanted to stick around and the network wanted to continue, they could do a spin off, but Smallville would be over.

clark is vital to smallville you could never take him out of the show

No. Clark is the show. They would have to rename it if he left. Unless they introduce Kon-El(Superboy) to take over for him. If they did, sure, I'll probably give it a chance.

your poll is weird LOL.. no answer choice from me!

Smallville = Clark.

Without Clark, Smallville is nothing.

I prefer Lois to Clark :)
I would still watch the show even if it's impossible that Clark leaves.

06-28-2010, 02:39 PM
Yeah it wouldnt be smallville without clark, if he was away for a few episodes that would be one thing, kinda like when he was gone and bizarro was pretending to be him, (even though it was still Tom) But for clark to leave just wouldnt work.

I have no idea what to vote for because the choices are confusing. But no, If Clark left I would not watch the show.

Atomic girl
12-28-2010, 09:31 PM
There are so many times Clark takes a back seat to the plot that I could give a Clarkless show a try, it might be OK. I mean what's the big difference in doing a spin off of Smallville and calling it something else or keeping the name and letting the show evolve to a spin off anyway?

I agree, the poll doesn't make sense, but yeah, I would stop watching if there was no CK/Blur/Superman in SV...apart from the fact that the show is his story, he could never leave lol. :)

There wouldn't be a show to watch if Clark Kent isn't in it. It's about his journey.

Hope he'll be back for at least 1 sec at before the last episode :)

12-30-2010, 07:03 PM
Well, I would not watch Smallville if they wrote Clark out because that's pretty ridiculous since it is supposed to be a show about Clark's journey. (supposed to be, though this doesn't always seem to be the case) I would probably break something if they wrote him out as Henry Clark Kent especially!

That said, I would absolutely watch a spin-off if they did one focusing on the Justice Leaguers or the Legion or possibly some of the other heroes. I might even give a Chloe spin-off a try if the premise was interesting enough.

Smallville without Clark Kent is a pretty dumb idea. My vote is a resounding NO.

LanasLilSis
01-07-2011, 01:04 AM
The answer's a bit confusing..
"yes, I love the show no matter what" kind of implies the opposite meaning that "yes, i will keep watching the show if clark left because nothing will stop me from watching Smallville".

Regardless, my answer is YES! I WONT watch the show if Clark Kent wasnt in smallville because he's the very heart of the show.

I wish Lana and Lex didnt leave..

I would stop watching the show if someone of the main characters was cut out and replaced by someone else. I think the if Clark left the show (wtf btw the whole series around Clark) the show would be over.

neoblackdragon
01-15-2011, 04:55 PM
If Clark left the show and assume smallville had another season. The show would have Oliver left and then it would be a show about Green Arrow. At that point I would ask for a name change and proceed to watch. Now if Oliver was not an option.....then yeah NO!

umm
01-26-2011, 10:10 AM
No, because for me this Clark Kent never quite completly did the future Superman mantle justice, and I have always watched Smallville for all the characters involved!Although with Lex, Chloe and Lionel gone for the most part (not counting the quest appearances), in my opinion the most intriquing characters, if he left, there really woudn't be much left to see!

DC Fanboy
01-26-2011, 12:44 PM
I'd rather see Smallville where Clark Kent is the only regular cast member, than Smallville where they take out Clark and keep the rest(Lois, Tess, Queen, Lex, Lana). Without Clark, there is no Smallville.

tbird4u
01-26-2011, 01:03 PM
Ok I said yes. But its yes because I WOULD stop watching if clark left. Smallville isn't Smallville without Smallville LOL.

01-26-2011, 02:29 PM
I didn't vote because I couldn't understand the options! Surely it should have been. "Yes, because it isn't Smallville without Clark Kent" or "No, I like Smallville anyway".

Anyway I wouldn't watch it if Tom wasn't in it!

Like Lois said: You put the Smallville in Smallville, Smallville.:)

How can the show exist without Clark Kent?

I don't think it would make much sense without Clark...

Maybe if kara took over, might be interesting to see if done right. But chances of that happening are slim to none.

Yes, I would stop watching if Clark left. There would be no point to it.

Well with 12 eps to go, I hardly think Clark is leaving. I'm here for the short haul.
