Would you want Brandon Routh in Season 10?

Yes, I would love for him to guest star. Cannot think of a character he could play right now.
Off topic: I always wanted Jerry Seinfeld to guest star on Smallville, him being a big Superman fan. I would be fun for him to play a comic store owner or Blur fanatic or something. (Preferably in a episode that has Phil Morris, lol.)

As a guest Star yes, As Clark Kent, no Welling owns that role. I would like to see Betty white play Lois' grandmother.

I agree that Brandon should be only a guest star. Brandon looks too much like Christopher Reeve which is creepy. Tom is the new Superman for our times. I want the new superman be different from Christopher Reeve's superman. I like Tom's take on Clark Kent and Smallville's take on the superman legend. I want the new Superman to be a little darker and less comical. More like the new Batman movies.

I don't think the thread starter meant Brandon Routh in season 10 as Clark Kent/Superman, but to guest star as another character. Like Christopher Reeve, Margot Kidder, Marc McClure, Terence Stamp, Helen Slater, Lynda Carter, Dean Cain, etc...
It would be really cool to see him guest star, especially a character connected to DC universe.

That would be great. Maybe he will be the face of Superman in this universe (illusion via hypnosis or change of appearance via shape-shifting - powers which Superman had at different times in the comics).
It'd be nice if Gerard Christopher and John Newton showed up too.
And while we are at it, let's throw in John Shea and Teri Hatcher as well.
As a guest Star yes, As Clark Kent, no Welling owns that role. I would like to see Betty white play Lois' grandmother.
Noel Neill would be a better choice IMO. Unless we ever see a flashforward to an aged, dying Lois. In that case, Noel should play the old Lois.

When tw goes to the fortress jorel should change his face to brandon routh. Then he should step out as superman this would cover up all the plot holes and he has a suit that fits and tom never wanted to wear the suit anyhow all problems solved .+ we have a superman show for a few more seasons

No, Tom Welling in the suit at the end of Smallville or I will be a huge letdown. I know Tom Welling has reserves about wearing the suit, but I think he will deliver at end in some way.
What plot holes are you revering to? The Smallville universe is not connected with the Returns universe.

And for Jerry: Mr. Miracle!

No, that would be stupid. Routh should only be in the upcoming Superman movies not Smallville.

Sure, as a cameo only, not as a real character. There have been a lot of actors from the various Superman movies on SV, including Martha Kent (Lana from the movies). We've already seen Christopher Reeve, Margot Kidder, and Dean Cain. I don't think it would hurt to see Routh. It needs to be brief and subtle, though.

Why, why, why would anyone want that dude on "Smallville"? It is a completely ridiculous suggestion and, thank God, something that no sane people would ever let or even consider happening. I just want to forget I ever read this post.

Yeah, because I got so confused when Christopher Reeve and Dean Cain guest starred.

Reeve and Cain last appeared as Superman over 10 years before being on Smallville. It's only been 4 years for Routh so it's not the same.

how are they gonna correct people not reckonising him as superman !!! HUGE PLOT HOLE
No glasses . No different Hair . No Suit. No Hat.
if his face is different . Problem Solved

They have a whole season to figure out how to do the glasses, suit, and all the stuff to make people not recognize him.

No...I don't need to see Brandon on SV when we have Tom Welling.

He would still work at the planet with the same face, who's to say they wouldn't recognize him anyway then ?
And why should the people of Metropolis think that Superman has a secret identity ?
They have to at least think about that before they begin to even think about putting 2 and 2 together. To us it seems perfectly natural that ANYONE should recognize Clark as superman because we watch EVERYTHING that happens on the show.
If you think from an outside view on this, it's really not that hard to pull of.
Which means = NO PLOTHOLE
He was ok in superman return. Even in Chuck I thought he was ok except when he was playing a LI for Sarah. It contradicted everything he stood for and it also drew Sarah down to a damsel and distress role.
So I guess a mystic man or a creepy villain would be fine for me, but as Lois boyfriend? Absolutely not the guy really has hard time to express feelings.

Actually, it is... While Reeve played the role, for the last time, 23 years ago, his movies are a lot of peoples first and foremost exposure to Superman. He's the actor, who's mostly connected, with the part. Yet, there were no confusion, when he showed up.

Brandon Routh was a great superman in an awful film , at least he had the chops to portray Superman and 2 DIFFERENT characters where Welling is more suited to 90210 acting Like Cheaper by the Dozen 12 or Fog 3

Don't forget, unlike Welling, he was actually willing to wear the suit... Wonder how Smallville would've turned out, if they had cast Brandon, instead of TW?

if he were to make an apperance, I think that him playing Dr. Swann's son would be a good role. Something that he has to give clark (lets face it, new kryptonian artifacts/items seem to appear every season) that Dr. Swann had for him to help fulfill his destiny.

I could never imagine how that pitch went down between TW and the producers ?
SO we got this great idea for a superman show but were not gonna call it Superman or have him in it 'You up for it ? yea as long as i dont have to wear the suit !
Wait a minute so you Never wanna wear the SUIT ' YEP thats right

Firstly, I don't mind BR being in Smallville, so bring it on.
Secondly, in Tom Wellings contract it was NO TIGHTS rule because Al & Miles didn't want to do another "Superboy" show that failed in the 80's. Instead they wanted a more drama centered show that I guess in some peoples eyes, was a lot like Dawnsons Creek meets Superman.
Tom went with it, and because of that contract, they kept the no tights rule. I have no doubt he will wear it since TW himself says he's willing to.
So why are people getting upset or saying things like, "Jo-El can change TW's face to BR's face?" That's just a kick in the face to Smallville really, and kind of an alternative universe type of thing that will NEVER happen.
I watch Smallville because of Clark Kent, and because Tom Welling is MY Superman. Not because someone else. So I'd be really annoyed if the writers even would think of doing that which they would never think about doing.

After doing a little searching, this is totally true;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superboy_%28TV_series%29
however, I was in high school and college around that time and I don't ever remember hearing anything about this show. I did not even know it existed until I read about it here and I was really into the syndicated series of that time, like "Star Trek: The Next Generation", "Highlander" and "Forever Knight".

It could be an April Fools episode, where Phil plays a dual/(single?)
role as both MM AS Jackie Chiles.
