did some borrowing, and I found a cool site for Buffy and Angel comics and graphic novels:
http://www.tfaw.com/buffy/?qt=cjbuffy&AID=5523360&PID=723804
From this it looks like Angel has 17, but maybe around 60 graphic novels(some are books). which began in 1999 which makes sense since Angel began in Fall of 1999, and stopped around 2004 when the series ended. There was speculation if it would go further. Now its just with a different publisher hence no crossovers. I just never really heard much buzz about Angel until the next comic line this week lol.
Buffy's comic book line started in 1998 which is right around the same time the novels came out, and it still con't today. It has at least 140 comics, and 60 graphic novels(some are books). This site is great to browse on misc. Whedonverse shows.

I dont know if any of you guys recall, but FCC was on Buffy case a lot and last year FCC cleared Buffy of any charges. Here's Joss's comment on it while discussing Serenity:
Q: More dirty stuff?
Joss: Actually, I hate to break this to you, but TV is a much better medium for dirty stuff. I cant put my ***** on when we're PG-13. And as you know, the FCC has cleared Buffy of any charges, even though those guys were clearly having sex for no reason on screen. I mean uh, it was, a metaphor. It's actually not a particularly dirty movie.
source:Chud.com
here's the full interview: http://www.slayerverse.net/tanet/net_buffy_us/index.php?navi=news.php&id=16268
here's an interesting tidbit on Joss might returning to tv on the interview:
Q: At ComicCon you said that it would be hard to take Firefly back to the small screen. Do you feel that you would have a hard time going back?
Joss: I am totally prepared to go back to TV. Not 24/7 as I did in the first years of Buffy, but now I've learned enough about surrounding yourself with the right people and delegating that I can actually run a show without ruining my life. TV is a medium that I love in a very different way than I love movies. The things that I cant do in this movie are the smaller moments, the long protracted interaction, the things that make TV really fascinating, watching people change over the years. I've waited my whole life to make movies, but movies dont do that. I could either write novels that are way too long or make TV. And I cant write novels that are long.

Alyson Hannigan will be starring in a new comedy for ABC along with Jennifer Love Hewitt and Ed O'Neill entitled "In the Game.":
"American Pie" star Alyson Hannigan is set to join Jennifer Love Hewitt and Ed O'Neill on ABC's upcoming comedy series "In the Game."
Meanwhile, Emmanuelle Vaugier has been tapped for the title role in Sci Fi Channel's two-hour pilot "Painkiller Jane."
"In the Game," from Touchstone TV and Handprint Entertainment, centers on an up-and-coming sports producer (Hewitt) who unwillingly becomes an on-camera reporter on a sports TV show.
Hannigan will play the reporter's best friend. O'Neill co-stars as the show's executive producer.
Hannigan co-starred on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and most recently starred as Sally in the London stage version of Rob Reiner's 1989 film "When Harry Met Sally... ."
This past development season, she starred in NBC's untitled Matt Tarses/Bill Wrubel comedy pilot.
Hannigan is repped by Innovative Artists and manager Steve Lovett.
"Painkiller Jane," from NBC Universal TV and MGM TV, is based on the Event Comics' series about Jane (Vaugier), a young Marine officer who gains self-healing powers when she is exposed to a biochemical weapon.
Walker Howard also is cast in the pilot.
Vaugier had recurring roles on the WB Network hits "Smallville" and "One Tree Hill" and co-starred on the network's short-lived series "My Guide to Becoming a Rock Star."
Her feature credits include "Secondhand Lions" and "40 Days and 40 Nights."

thanks great. Hopefully this one wont get cancelled before it airs picked because her last one did.
Vauniger....wait that's Lex's ex-wife Helen Bryce!!!
on a sidenote Sarah's husband Freddie Prinze Jr. is also going to do a comedy for ABC about his life. He was raised by a family full of women(mom, aunts, and grandma). George Lopez is helping him work on it. Freddie also has a book trilogy, 3 of his screenplays set to be film by MTV and one by Disney, and he is finishing a movie in NYC right now.
Reason I bring this up because of Jennifer Garner's illness she might not be able to host her SNL, but Sarah might be since she is in NYC w/ Freddie. Right now its speculation not concrete.

Actually her injury occured during a stunt on Alias:
OK, so Jennifer Garner isn't really suffering from a nasty viral infection as first reported Tuesday. Turns out the actress actually sustained nerve damage to her back while performing a stunt on Alias. Garner still plans to attend the Las Vegas premiere of Elektra this weekend, but her Jan. 15 hosting stint on Saturday Night Live remains a question mark.

there wasnt a big ending like some finales is, but its big in the sense it was closure and emotional. One of my favorites. It was a two-parter "Two To Go" and "Grave". Tara was accidentally murdered by Warren when Warren shot Buffy. Tara died instantly, and Willow tried to call on a god(the same god used to bring Buffy back to life in the season six premiere) but sense Tara's death wasnt caused by magic the god wouldnt.
Willow went into a grief-stricken rampage. She went to the Magic Box and basically downloaded herself w/ the dark dark magic books. It turned her red hair black and her face veiny. She went to the hospital and saved buffy by magically removing the bullet from her chest. Willow killed Warrren, and went after Jonathan and Andrew. Buffy and the Scoobies protected the two boys from her. In the end of "Two To Go" Buffy and Dark Willow fought, and Dark Willow won because of magic useage. But to appear was Giles w/ mojo magic power.
Giles and Dark Willow had a magical power. Slowly DW started to drain, and she stucked Giles's magical force which made DW feel again. Feel the pain of everybody in the world. So the decided to destory the world by using a satanic temple. The only thing that can get in her way couldnt be magic. Since Buffy is magically strong she couldnt do it, and she was stuck underneath w/ Dawn. So Xander stopped DW w/ love. He tole her that he loved no matter if she was evil or good. He kept saying I love you over and over again, and her magic wouldnt work. Soon she was in her arms finally grieving for Tara while her black hair turned to red.
Giles was going to die because DW stucked the life and magically eccense out of him. But that was his blame to make Willow feel again, so somebody could reach her. Xander knew Willow since they were four years old, and they emphasized greatly.
Buffy was lost this year, and in the end DW and what everything was happening w/ Warren, Tara's passing, taking care of Dawn, her sexual addiction, and depression. She finally got out of it, and began to see the light w/ Dawn at her side. Dawn came into her own in these episode w/ a sword and everything. The Summers's sisters fighting alongside DW's magics underneath the cemmentary. Buffy finally saw Dawn as growing up. They both got out of the ground into the daylight.
Spike's chip no longer worked on Buffy, so he is able to hurt her and again tap into his dark side. Through this season both Buffy and Spike were fighting w/ their demons and bloodlust for one another. In the end Spike almost rapped Buffy, but she was able to stop him. Spike, soulless, began to feel gulity and went to Africa to make him like he was. So Buffy will get what she deserved. He did many trials, and in the end got his SOUL!!!

Quote of the Day:
Xander: "The first day of kindergarten you vrid because you broke the yellow crayon and were too afraid to tell anyone. You've come pretty far, ending the world, not a terrific notion, but the thing is, yeah. I love you. I loved crayon-breaking Willow and I love scary veiny face Willow. So if I'm going out, it's here. If you wann kill the worl well then start with me. I've earned that."
Willow: "You think I won't."

yea, I think probably because the big movies this year come out in summer. In May we have Star Wars and then Batman. September could be just the right time.
Do you guys ever watch an episode, and you discover something new? I was watching "Bring On The Night" the other day(one of my favorite episodes), and I noticed there was "Chosen" music in it. When Buffy is giving her "war" speech(one of my favs, and Sarah did an excellent job of vulnerability and strength) I heard the "Chosen" music in the background. It was a light version when the girls get their power.
It reminded me when you can hear "Close Your Eyes" music in the dock scene in season two's "Suprise".

Phoenix Hopes to Rise for 'X-3' This Summer
Sun, Jan 09, 2005, 10:01 PM PT
By Mike Szymanski
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) -- Famke Janssen, who plays Jean Grey in the "X-Men" movies, says she hopes to reprise her role again this summer as the transformed Dark Phoenix, which she becomes at the end of "X2: X-Men United."
"I know they're working on the script for the third X-Men right now, and they're talking about starting in June or July this year," Janssen tells Zap2it.com this weekend during interviews for her upcoming film "Hide and Seek" with Robert DeNiro and Dakota Fanning.
It's not sure yet if Bryan Singer will be director again, and Janssen confirms that "Buffy the Vampire Slayer's" Joss Whedon is rumored to take over. "I've heard from pretty good sources that he may take it over, but I would miss Mr. Singer," Janssen says.
"I want to do it and I've cleared my schedule," says the actress. "I've heard that for others to come back they would have to have a big chunk of the movie, and that's always a bit tricky because they have to bring in more characters."
Halle Berry, for example, has said she wants a bigger role for her Storm character. But, Janssen says, "If anyone gets a bigger part it will be Wolverine, because he's the most favorite character."
Others in the cast, who include Patrick Stewart, Anna Paquin, Ian McKellen and Hugh Jackman, may have to renegotiate their contracts while others are already committed, Janssen says. And although her character could come back with a completely different look, she adds, "I would have a hard time giving up my character to anyone else."

Buffy on VH1
Next friday VH1 is going back to 1998 when the spiciest of the Spice Girls left and when Buffy was slaying vamps all over the place!
Into every decade, there is a chosen one. One year created to entertain the masses and to kick ass like no other. Get ready to trip out 90's style. Welcome to I Love The 90's: Part Deux. This is 1998 all over again!!!
Size really did matter at the box office. In more ways than one. Godzilla got an American makeover when the worlds most pissed off lizard gave action star Matthew Broderick a run for his money. Matt Dillon got up close and very personal to Kevin's bacon in the erotic mystery, Wild Things. Adam Sandler became the king of the big screen when he drenched audiences with laughs as the slow, but hard hitting Waterboy. Wesley Snipes took a bite out of the competition as superhuman Blade. The Noxema girl shocked us all when she brought some scary Urban Legends to life. And that crazy German chick ran her ass off in Run Lola Run.
If movies weren't your scene, there was always the music. Alanis Morissette "Thank-ed You" and anyone else who would listen. Prodigy got rough when they "Smacked My ***** Up". Warren Beatty became a "Ghetto Superstar" thanks to Pras. And the Barenaked Ladies proved that white guys from Canada can rap like no other with their fast talking hit "One Week."
But wait...there's even more!!!
Jesse Camp has everyone wondering how he managed to become MTV's newest vee-jay. VH1 gave the world a nostalgic, albeit formulaic look Behind the Music. And the world bid a sad farewell to the tastiest spice on the rack when Ginger left her British pop mates behind.
But the spirit of Girl Power was kept alive on the small screen when Sarah Michelle Gellar staked her claim as primetimes toughest and sexiest vampire slayer. And Michael J. Fox kept things up and running as the deputy mayor of New York on the hit sitcom Spin City.
Mother Nature rained on everyone's parade with the help of one annoying baby boy. Oprah bit off more than she could chew when she took on the beef industry. Naomi Campbell kept in touch with her assistant thanks to a very dangerous cell phone. And Gary Coleman had some Diff'rent Strokes with the law after punching a fan.
There's all that and lots more.so, grab a Subway sandwich with a side of Olestra, hold onto your ass, and crack open those glow sticks because it's time to rave like never before...this is I Love The 90's: 1998 - Part Deux."
Tune in next friday - 21/1 - on VH1 at 9/8c PM

At first that was cool, and then yea you promote it now even though the WB treated Buffy like crap. And how it be decade for the WB that's not until 2006/7. they must be off a year or something.
that was an old promo pic too. She looked young. I believe it was a season four promo commerical.
Yeah I had the same feelings as well. I'm just glad they recognized that Buffy really was their big hit and allowed WB to continue as long as it has.

Thank you! I didn't think I was the only one that noticed that Buffy wasn't mentioned during I Love The 90's. I'm glad they're going back and putting it in it's rightful place. :)

The ad gave me the same feeling I had when I saw WB's farewell tribute to Angel. Seeing all the nice pictures and episodes, and seeing "friends from the WB". It was almost the same feeling. But its always nice to see.....it was like a bonus :).
They cut a lot of things from I Love The 90s. I was kinda miffed that they neglect NSYNC. what can I say that was my boy band phase lol.

I watched the episode "I Will Remember You" last night. Wow, a great episode, my favorite so far in season one. It was so sweet and extremely sad:
Angel: "The Oracles are giving us back the day, turning back time, so I can kill Mohra before his blood makes me mortal."
Buffy: "When?"
Angel looks over at the clock (it's 9:00): "Another minute."
Buffy crying: "A minute? No. No, it's not enough time!"
Angel: "We don't have a choice. It's done."
Buffy: "How am I supposed to go on with my life knowing what we had? What we could have had?"
Angel: "You won't. No one will know but me."
Buffy: "Everything we did."
Angel: "It never happened."
Buffy shakes her head: "It did. It did. I know it did! (Puts her hand on his heart) I felt your heart beat."
Angel: "Buffy.."
They kiss. Buffy looks over at the clock. The minute is almost up.
Buffy: "No! Oh God. It's not enough time."
Angel is crying too now: "Shh, please. Please."
The hold each other tightly both crying.
Angel: "Please, please."
Buffy: "No. I'll never forget. I'll never forget. I'll never forget. I'll never forget."
I'm in tears!

Remember the news that Aly was going to join an ABC sitcom. According to Variety she isnt:
Aly Out of the Game...
Aly will not be included in the cast of the new sitcom "In the Game". A very sad decision but perhaps she will join Veronica Mars.
ABC has all but wrapped up its drama development, greenlighting a quartet of pilots from Touchstone Television.
Pilot season is also progressing at NBC and the WB, which have each placed an additional drama into their 2005-06 mix.
And on the casting front, Alyson Hannigan won't be joining ABC's upcoming Jennifer Love laffer "In the Game" after all (Daily Variety, Jan. 5). Instead, the role will be filled by Sara Gilbert ("Roseanne"), who will guest star in the role.
Gilbert has had recent guest turns on "ER" and "24."
Ex Roseanne Star Gilbert has replaced Aly...

Noxon Wants Marsters On Point Pleasant!
It looks like we can watch James Marsters at Point Pleasant in the future!
Former Buffy the Vampire Slayer producer Marti Noxon told SCI FI Wire that she wants to get former Buffy and Angel star James Marsters on her new supernatural Fox series Point Pleasant. "Adam Busch, who was on Buffy as one of the super nerds, has a small role right now," Noxon told reporters at Fox's winter press preview on Jan. 17 in Universal City, Calif. "And I would really love to bring James Marsters [Spike] in at some point. We've been talking to him."
In a separate interview, Noxon said that she took on the job of executive producer of Point Pleasant because she liked the way it incorporated elements of Peyton Place, The O.C., Carrie and The Omen. "It's got all of that and, after the first few episodes, we'll be leaning even a little bit more toward Twin Peaks," Noxon said. "You've got a small town with lots of strange people with secrets, and the main character, Christina [Elisabeth Harnois], has this effect of drawing that out of everybody in this once-sleepy place."
Set in Point Pleasant, N.J., the show centers on Christina, an attractive teen who washes up on the shore of the well-to-do town. She's not just any teen, but rather the daughter of Satan and a mortal woman, and forces both good and evil will battle for her soul. The show also stars Grant Show, Dina Meyer, Sam Page, Brent Weber, Cameron Richardson, Aubrey Dollar, Susan Walters and Richard Burgi.
"Tonally, it's so different from Buffy that I was really eager to take a run at it," Noxon said. "It's hard to see the forest from the trees when you're in it, but I will tell you I always feel like a good indication of how something is going is if you're enjoying writing it. And every time I sit down to write [Point Pleasant] I get carried away by it. It feels like there may be something here." Point Pleasant debuts on Jan. 19 before moving to its regular timeslot Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Angel Soundtrack: Happy Day for US Fans!
Fox has announced that the Official Angel Soundtrack will be released worldwide and not only in Europe...
"There has been change of plan! The Angel soundtrack album will be released in the USA! The record label is Rounder, and Fox has just informed me they will be releasing it as soon as possible, in the United States. They hope to have it in stores around February 14th, to coincide with the U.K. release.
I've been informed only today but some time ago Fox pushed for a US release and made a deal with Rounder, the label which released the Buffy musical, which has sold over 200,000 copies. This news has made my day! Please tell absolutely everyone!"

Alyson confirmed for Mars:
Zap2it confirms the rumour of who will make a guest appearance on "Veronica Mars". Read on to learn more about Alyson's role. Could she become a recurring character ? Spoiler
'Buffy' Star Shines on 'Veronica Mars'
By Kate O'Hare
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) On Tuesday, Feb. 22, former "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Alyson Hannigan leaves demon-infested Sunnydale behind for the mystery-filled seaside town of Neptune, when she makes a guest appearance on the UPN Tuesday-night cult hit "Veronica Mars." She's currently scheduled for one episode, with a possibility of the role becoming recurring.
Hannigan plays Trina Echolls, the struggling-actress daughter of town resident and movie star Aaron Echolls (Harry Hamlin), and stepdaughter of his wife, Lynn (Lisa Rinna, Hamlin's real-life spouse). This makes Trina the half-sister of Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring), the high-school foe of teen sleuth Veronica (Kristen Bell).
In "Russkie Business," Trina, who was a no-show at the memorial service for Lynn (who apparently committed suicide by jumping off a bridge) suddenly appears, raising new questions about what exactly happened to her stepmother.
"It's a pretty dramatic episode," Dohring says. "A lot of heavy stuff happens."
On "Buffy," Hannigan's character, Willow Rosenberg, went from gawky computer nerd to powerful lesbian witch, and that versatility serves her well on "Veronica Mars."
"Originally," Dohring says, "they didn't have her being snippy, but it's cool for Alyson to have a bit of an edge. It's a good match for me, because I'm snippy on the show. She inherited half of it, I caught the whole thing."
The appearance of Trina is part of a larger story in which Logan questions his mother's fate.
"He's trying to find his mom," Dohring says. "We don't know what happened. In future episodes, he may enlist Veronica's help."

New Movie for Nick
Yes finaly Nicholas Brendon has a new project. Take a look and find out what kind of movie he will work on.
FANGORIA just got the details on UNHOLY, a new horror yarn starring Nicholas (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER) Brendon and Adrienne (THE FOG) Barbeau. Lensing in Northern New Jersey and Queens, New York, the film deals with a grieving mother (Barbeau) who uncovers a conspiracy dealing with Nazi witchcraft. Daryl Goldberg makes his directorial debut on the film, with fellow NYU grad Sam Stephen Freeman serving as executive producer (with Joshua Blumenfeld) and screenwriter. Thomas (BLADES) Rondinella produces. Besides Barbeau and Brendon, UNHOLY also features Susan (THE FACULTY) Willis, Siri (BLOOD ANGELS) Baruc, Richard Ziman, Cheyenne Casebier and Joe McKenna in the cast.
"The film starts off with Martha [Barbeau] coming home to find her daughter Hope locked in the cellar, contemplating suicide," Freeman, an associate producer on ZOMBIE HONEYMOON, tells Fango. "Despite a heart-wrenching attempt to stop her, Martha fails. Hope doesn’t give a reason, but her last words are, ‘Beware of the experiment.’ While delving into the reasons for her daughter’s suicide and the secretive cellar Hope spent most of her time in, Martha, along with her son Lucas [Brendon], uncovers a conspiracy involving an experiment called ‘The Unholy Trinity,’ which involves Nazi witchcraft that our very own government smuggled into small-town Pennsylvania following World War II.
"The plot is based on real myth," Freeman continues. "Legend says the government continues to utilize unwilling subjects around Dowington, PA to progress the outstanding technology the Nazis started. Was Hope one of the lab rats? In their search for answers, Martha and Lucas find themselves as targets of an unknown enemy and unravel truths that should have never been brought to light…"
Freeman says that he has gathered a very horror-friendly team, beginning with himself. "It was only a few years ago that I was attending the FANGORIA conventions, and now I am trying to do my best to add to this wonderful genre." —Tony Timpone

The 50 Best Episodes of 2004(the one where Run is a part of)
With "Angel", "Wonderfalls" and "Veronica Mars"! Plus the top 50 of previous years! With "Buffy", "Angel" and "Firefly"! Join a trip into the past 4 years!
The 50 Best Episodes of 2004: #50-21
By Brian Ford Sullivan
It's time for our annual list of the 50 best episodes of the past year. (For previous lists check the bottom of this column.) We'll be counting down 10 episodes a day until we get to the best episode of 2004 on Friday. The episodes on this list are based on nominations by myself and regular visitors to the site as to what we think the standout moments of the year were. In some cases while we were fans of certain series we couldn't pin down a particular episode we thought was of special merit so don't be stunned to see a few of our regular favorites missing from the list. Anyway, on with the show...
37. "veronica mars: pilot"
(originally aired september 22, 2004)
This series is probably one of the hardest to describe to a friend (and consequently a difficult sell to the TV audience) but once you start you watching, you can't help but become addicted. Part teen drama, part detective show, part comedy, part drama - you've heard all the adjectives - so just watch will you? It'll all make sense afterwards.
27. "wonderfalls: wax lion"
(originally aired march 12, 2004)
The short-lived gem opened with a delightful installment that introduced us to the (pardon the choice of adjectives here) wonderful Caroline Dhavernas and her first exposure to talking inanimate figurines. The DVD (featuring nine - yes nine, folks - unaired episodes) can't get here soon enough.
21. "angel: smile time"
(originally aired february 18, 2004)
They made Angel a puppet. A puppet. Nothing more needs to be said.
Top episodes 20-1 weren't published yet.
Past years:
2003:
50. "buffy the vampire slayer: chosen" (upn)
originally aired: may 20, 2003
Despite a promising start (how cool were all the cameos by the previous "big bads" in the season opener?), we weren't huge fans of how the final season of "Buffy" panned out. Nevertheless the final "Buffy" from Joss Whedon's pen was a reason to celebrate in 2003: back was the snappy dialogue we've come to expect from the show over the years. In essence the show came to life just as its run drew to a close. Not a bad way to go out.
36. "firefly: the message" (fox)
originally aired: december 9, 2003
Sure this episode didn't technically "air" in 2003, but it was first released to the general public as part of a DVD set last month and we'd be remissed if we couldn't find a way to once again say how great this short-lived series turned out to be. After a rocky start, "Firefly" found its footing at the tail end of its run and became just a pure joy to watch. If anything, the series remains to this day one of the few shows that could introduce and make us care about not one, but nine different characters in such a short time.
32. "angel: lineage" (wb)
originally aired: november 12, 2003
Let's be honest folks: Wesley (Alexis Denisof) kicks ass. And boy did he in this episode which saw the return of his father (Roy Dotrice). It's in this hour we see once again how far Wesley has come and how much he has changed over the years. More importantly, it finally moved along the plotline of Wes' secret feelings for Fred (Amy Acker) as he literally kills his father for her.
25. "angel: peace out" (wb)
originally aired: april 30, 2003
Any episode that has a character punching through another one's face certainly will make it stick in our memories, but "Peace Out" gets our high marks for throwing some interesting elements into the typical "Big Bad" showdown. The Angel crew learns that if they defeat Jasmine (Gina Torres), they'll be destroying the peace she's provided for the world. No big cosmic reset button here folks as Connor (Vincent Kartheiser) surprisingly takes care of business, releasing pain once again into the world.
2002:
42. "buffy the vampire slayer: conversations with dead people" (upn)
originally aired november 12, 2002
"Buffy" has gotten a lot of mileage out bringing back dead characters and yet each time it doesn't feel cheap or out of place. A perfect example of this was in this episode where The First (i.e. the first evil of the world) plays its hand by impersonating those close to Buffy and her friends. From this we get everything from a heartbreaking scene between Willow and someone speaking for her beloved Tara to Dawn getting a visit from her mother in which she's told her sister won't choose her in the end. Heartbreaking and deliciously evil at the same time - that's "Buffy" at its best for sure.
35. "buffy the vampire slayer: normal again" (upn)
originally aired march 12, 2002
One of the few highlights in an overall disappointing season was this episode in which Buffy is led to believe she isn't a vampire slayer at all. She wakes up in a mental ward where she's told the past six years were actually just her active imagination, an imagination that has forced her to be committed. The doctors (along with Buffy's now alive mom) offer her a solution to her dilemma however: the next time the "dreams" happen she should simply just kill off her friends as that will break the link between the two worlds in her mind. The ensuing climax was actually quite frightening as Buffy gets close to doing such a thing. Thankfully she doesn't and the twisted spell is broken.
33. "angel: spin the bottle" (wb)
originally aired november 10, 2002
"Angel" has been home to some of the more radical character changes in the Joss Whedon universe. After all, toss in early episodes of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and then watch a recent episode of "Angel" and you'd be hard pressed to see how those dots connected for a character like Cordelia Chase (the lovely Charisma Carpenter). But as long time viewers know, that progression has felt anything but abnormal as the spoiled brat rich girl has become something of a humbled warrior in the fight for good. So it was particularly interesting in this episode to see Cordelia (along with the rest of the cast) forced to revisit their younger selves after a memory spell goes awry. How Chase, David Boreanaz, Alexis Denisof and company all step their characters back a few years without missing a beat is something that borders on extraordinary to watch.
2001:
36. angel - "billy"
(originally aired october 29, 2001)
Let's go down the list - Wesley going all "shining" on Fred, Angel paying the price for saving Cordelia a few weeks before and Lilah beat within an inch of her life. No show pushes as many buttons at the same time as this one.
15. buffy the vampire slayer - "life serial"
(originally aired october 23, 2001)
While you'll find some of "Buffy's" more dramatic episodes at the top of this list, that doesn't mean we don't love the comedy ones and this one about a "geek" Troika fooling with Buffy took the cake. And if you have any doubts that this isn't one of the best episodes of 2001, two words my friends: kitten poker.
14. angel - "that vision thing"
(originally aired october 1, 2001)
The evolution of Cordelia has been one of the best things about this show as of late and this episode put out all the stops. Originally a Girl Friday to Angel, it's here we really see how far the character has come in the five years we've known her. And let's not forget the best character introduction all season - Skip.
3. buffy the vampire slayer - "once more, with feeling"
(originally aired november 6, 2001)
Joss Whedon has an ability to take "gimmick" episodes and make them so essential that one wonders how the story could be told without said "gimmick." This episode in which the town is cast under a spell that makes them sing and dance their innermost thoughts had all the makings of those "very special episodes" that break from the usual rhythm of a series. This one however found a way to knock down all the dominos that had been set up in weeks past and do it in a way that it really made you believe that this was the logical conclusion to those events and there was no other way to tell the story. Amazing stuff for sure.
1. buffy the vampire slayer - "the body"
(originally aired february 27, 2001)
While no doubt many expected "Once More, With Feeling" to top this list, I can't help but find myself hopelessly in love with this episode, featuring the events following Buffy's mom's death. This episode was just plain hard to watch in some parts just because it was so emotionally overwhelming. Anyone who has lost someone close to them will surprisingly find those frustrating, painful and too-hard-to-explain emotions realistically portrayed - and remember kids this is a show about vampires. How the Emmys cannot look at this episode and not recognize Sarah Michelle Gellar's acting abilities, Joss Whedon's fine script and direction not to mention the show's overall amazing quality is beyond me.
Top 20, 2000:
20. angel - "reunion"
(december 19, 2000)
"Help us please!" says a distraught Wolfram & Hart executive. Angel's response was one of the most jaw-dropping moments of 2000 - "Somehow I can't bring myself to care," he says shutting the doors to his lawyer antagonists and their out of control vampire creations. And just when you think they can't top that, when Wesley, Gunn and Cordelia confront him about it his response drops your jaw even further - "You're all fired." I've never wanted to see the next episode of a series more than this one.
10. angel - "five by five"
(april 25, 2000)
Any time Faith stops by the Buffyverse it's worth taking notice, especially in this case as a self destructive Faith attempts to hunt Angel. Her breakdown in the show's closing moments was painfully real and left one of the biggest impressions of 2000. Hopefully we'll see more of her in 2001.
1. buffy the vampire slayer - "restless"
(may 23, 2000)
While most people would say "Hush" was the most daring episode of "Buffy" to date (sorry kids it aired in 1999 and isn't eligible for this list), I'd still take this one any day. A strange mix of images and ideas, "Restless" featured each character's dream tour of their own individual psyches after the trauma of battling the season villain - Adam. It would set up the tone the show is taking this season as Buffy now is figuring out exactly what it means to be a slayer just as her friends start to find their places in this world.

actually yea. Joss meet Andy at a karkooe(sp?) bar that his sister-in-law goes to. Joss always wanted a place like Cartias in Angel, so it would be like the opposite of what the Bronze is in Buffy. Plus since the Seers were killed in the season one finale they needed a place for a substitute. That would guide Angel which is what Lorne's purpose was intitially.
here's some Buffy trivia(you guys probably know lol): In the teaser classroom scene in Hush Andy Hallet is a student in the classroom where Buffy dreams the Gentlemen song.

Christian has Record Deal: New Country Star?
As some of you may have heard, Christian Kane has signed a publishing agreement with EMI Publishing Nashville. Christian has spent any time not filming busy writing and recording new songs in Nashville, LA, and even on the set. We are thrilled to be working with the EMI team. They have been great to us; and we hope to have a long and fruitful relationship with EMI.

Director Kelly about SMG's new movie!
Richard Kelly talks about his new movie "Southland Tales", starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. "It's a hybrid" of science fiction, thriller and musical.
Kelly Preps SF Southland Tales
Director Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko) told SCI FI Wire that he's set to make his sophomore film effort, Southland Tales, which should go into production this spring with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Seann William Scott in the leads. "Without giving too much away it's a big social satire, but it's also a black comedy, and it combines elements of science fiction and thrillers and even musicals," Kelly said in an interview. "So it's a hybrid."
Kelly, who scored a cult hit with his big-screen debut, Donnie Darko, added, "When I try to explain [Southland Tales] to people, they kind of go, 'Whaaat?' They don't understand what I'm trying to do. Hopefully when people see it all assembled they'll get what I'm trying to do. But it's very hard to explain now. It's just a big, provocative epic story that's much more elaborate and complicated, I would say, than Donnie Darko, but in the same spirit of adventurousness, though on a completely different level. I definitely don't want to repeat myself. I'm done with teen alienation. I'm done with the '80s. I'm ready to move on to other eras now."

-Kelly A. Manners(worked on Angel)
-composer Rob Duncan(he did the instrumentals in season 7, and did the fanastic Chosen music w/ the Buffy/Spike love theme)

Hey Summers I was just wondering if you knew anything about this: you know how SMG played Karen in the Grudge...and how the producers/directors were key on making a re-release rather then a remake, meaning they wanted to stray true to the story plot. And in the Grudge 2 Karen dies. So I don't know if SMG will be coming back in any of the Grudge movies. I truly believe that one of the main reasons why the Grudge was a success was because of Sara, and I hope she gets to come back in the second one.

your are right. Sarah's character Karen did die in Ju-On, in fact, Karen are based on two characters in the original adaptation and its sequel, and they both have died. In Japanese cinema no one is safe not even the hero or heroine.
I found this on The Grudge 2:
Grudge 2 Will Happen!
It is official that there will be a sequel to "The Grudge". But has Sarah signed already? Well the current status is that...
...Japanese scaremeister Takashi Shimizu has signed on to direct The Grudge 2 - Which makes sense seeing as he directed no less than two sequels to his Japanese original.
There’s no news on whether Sarah Michelle Gellar will return to be scared out of her wits once more by supernaturally animated hair, but we are fairly confident The World’s Coolest Frenchman™ will not be around to help her out.

IMO if they do bring Sarah back I hope its a flashback reference because there was specifically part of the story not shown. But The Grudge was a total adaptation of the original. The sequel really put a lot of things in perspective. Having the original director might interest Sarah to come back.
I agree I believe Sarah's status helped the movie especially w/ the shower scene lol. Guys love their shower scenes. Jason Behr helped because he has a following, but Ju-On itself has a massive following.

There is a third major actor that will be in the film, but we can't disclose a name yet.

Oh my goodness. I'm a very casual Buffy fan (meaning I love to watch it when I see it on, but that's about it.) and this morning, I was flipping channels while eating breakfast and Buffy was on. Holy cow.
Normally I expect your standard entertaining, witty episode. This however, was the episode where Buffy's mom Joyce dies, which I hadn't seen before. I was absolutely FLOORED. Easily one of the most exceptional peices of writing and television work I have ever seen. The whole ep was just heart rending, but the scene with Anya as she's struggling to understand death - I was absolutely in tears.
My poor roomate, who was just waking up, comes wandering into the room, and there I sit, a reasonably mature guy, just bawling my eyes out. I tried to explain it to him, but he didn't get it.

ah, "The Body" talk about a wake up call. That episode is so hard to watch, but its so compelling and haunting at the same time. I remember at the time Joyce Summers was only and still the only character that died from natural causes. Which even made it more sad.
But I love everything about. How they incorperated Buffy's christmas memory, no music whatsoever, and Joss constructed the episode into four acts seperately. The camera angles w/ Buffy in the house was like we were watching in real time. It made her look so small, and sad. oh, it is one of my top episodes of all time. The whole entire cast did a great job.
I'm telling ya if Joss didnt put humor by Scoobies, such as Xander's hand through the wall "Xander decides he blames the wall", or getting everything out of the vending machine. I believe this episode or Checkpoint that got Sarah her Golden Globe nomination. I just which it was nominated for writing and directing.

Spike the TV movie??
Question: I'm pleased to hear you plan to ask the WB folks about Angel movies, but please, what we need are Spike movies starring James Marsters. So, if those WBers try to brush you off with a generic "David Boreanaz is busy," you'll help us out and ask specifically about Spike, won't you please? — Grace
Ausiello: As you predicted, WB president David Janollari immediately played the "[Boreanaz] has a lot of other things going on" card when I asked him for an update on the Angel movies. But I was ready with my Spike follow-up. "I've never thought of that," he said of doing a Marsters-centric telepic. "I had not thought about it. We always thought Angel would be the character the audience would want to come back to see. We may give some thought to the Spike movie. That's interesting." I can't be sure, but I think I just pitched a show to the WB.

Minear: Serenity Will Surprise!
Serenity will amaze both new audiences and the devoted fans.
Tim Minear, executive producer of the short-lived Fox SF television series Firefly, told SCI FI Wire that the upcoming feature-film version of the show, Serenity, will have treats for the devoted fans. "If you loved Firefly, then you will love this movie," Minear said in an interview while promoting his upcoming CBS series, The Inside. "Fans are certainly not going to sit there and be bored while they learn about these people. They won't."
Minear said that he is particularly impressed by the new developments in the character of River, played by Summer Glau, who is revealed to be extraordinarily skilled at martial arts. "She's amazing," he said. "And the way Joss shot it, you can tell it's her—long, continuous takes, the camera moving around a certain fight. And it's Summer. It's her."
Other characters will take some surprising turns as well, Minear promised. "Oh, yeah," he said. "Oh. Yeah. It's pretty shocking." Serenity opens in theaters Sept. 30.

Big news:
UPDATED!!
A Spike-Centric Buffiverse TV Movie?? Er ...
I am – Hercules!!
We’re aware of it! So you can stop writing now!
If you, gentle reader, are one of the 17 Americans who are not aware of it, here’s the what. Someone named Grace wrote TV Guide’s Mike Ausiello with this:
I'm pleased to hear that you plan to ask the WB folks about Angel movies, but please, what we need are Spike movies starring James Marsters. So, if those WBers try to brush you off with a generic "David Boreanaz is busy," you'll help us out and ask specifically about Spike, won't you please? — Grace
Ausiello replied:
Ausiello: As you predicted, WB president David Janollari immediately played the "[Boreanaz] has a lot of other things going on" card when I asked him for an update on the Angel movies. But I was ready with my Spike follow-up. "I've never thought of that," he said of doing a Marsters-centric telepic. "I had not thought about it. We always thought Angel would be the character the audience would want to come back to see. We may give some thought to the Spike movie. That's interesting."
Some 900 Coaxial News readers immediately wrote to ask if I’d heard of this “TV Guide” publication and if I’d seen the news. One AICN reader, we’ll call her “Marie,” asks Herc:
What did you think of the WB's comment about the possiblity of a Spike movie? They must have known there was fan support for it. Was he being stupid or just oily?
Whaaaa? Neither! “We may give some thought to a Spike movie,” he says! And I say thank you, Mr. Janollari! Thank you thank you thank you!! Can someone quickly organize a pilgrimage to Burbank, Calif., so that we may grovel gratefully en masse before Mr. Janollari’s lushly appointed office and groan thanks for his possible willingness to think about devoting two hours of valuable WB airtime - airtime that might otherwise be earmarked for an exciting two-hour “Summerland” event!! - to one of the most popular and compelling characters ever to grace American television?
Can we bathe his tasseled Italian loafers with our tongues, pausing only to howl gratitude to the passing WB programmers who canceled “Angel” but spared “One Tree Hill”? Can we at last be allowed to personally acknowledge their roles in filling the consequent primetime void with serialized marvels like “The Mountain,” “Blue Collar TV,” “Jack & Bobby,” and “Drew Carey’s Green Screen Show”? Can we construct please football-field-size signage hailing “David Janollari: Programming Genius”? Can we assign massive Army cargo helicopters to dangle said signage over Hollywood Way from now until the end of eternity?
For the record, James Marsters revealed on Australian television back in July that Buffiverse mastermind Joss Whedon had approached him about reprising his most famous role in one of four potential TV movies. The news was ceaselessly cycled all over the media for weeks; I think it even trickled all the way down to the local newscasts here in Los Angeles. Can the PRESIDENT OF THE ****ING WB be so consumed with organizing ski trips and tanning sessions and aborting "Global Frequency" that he's wholly unaware that both Marsters and Whedon are keen to make a TV-movie for which millions of fans have been salivating for months??
Jesus Christ!! Who hired this *******??

sweet, thanks Spiked :). This Tuesday Sarah's The Grudge comes out on dvd :D , and there are some really nice extras. I read from a dvd site that the commentary by the cast and crew is excellent with cute ancedotes about the filming, and that they really enjoy each others company. If you guys ever heard Sarah's commentary in Scooby Doo it was very cute lol. You can get both the original Japanese version and The Grudge for 25 bucks at Best Buy.
Tim Minear's Wonderfalls also hits stores this Tuesday!!

I kept forgetting to post this news about The Grudge 2 since its been greenlighted as well:
will Sarah Michelle Gellar be back in the lead?
“Oh, ho, ha, ha!” Tapert intones. “I can’t tell you right now. It still takes place in Japan, let me put it this way. It still takes place on Earth! It’s set in Tokyo. In some capacity, perhaps she might [return]."

I just finished re-watching Season 4 of Angel for the first time since it aired. I was really hungover yesterday so I watched like a million episodes while lying around.
I thought S5 came out this tuesday! Stupid!
I was really excited to watch S5 too! My 2nd favorite season. Now I got to wait another week!
Oh well. Instead I went out and bought S7 of Buffy. Cuz it coincided at times with S4 of Angel.
should have it done by the 15th

lol, that's what I'm doing right now. I finished Angel S4, and now I'm finishing Buffy S7 to run into Angel S5. I mean those three seasons they are connected all over the place. Its fun :).
Spoon, there is a easter egg on the S7 dvd. Its The Gift Montage on the last disc. the signal is the Buffy logo.

really?
what's The Gift montage?
and i really wish they had trailers for the episodes on the DVD's.
I remember S7 of Buffy had these great trailers with Michelle Branch's "Goodbye to You" on them. I'd love to have them on the DVD's.
And I remember Angel Season 4 had these cool Ocean's Eleven type promo's for the Vegas episode.
Summers

remember when "The Gift" originally aired. It was the show's 100th episode, and instead of doing the regular "previously on Buffy". Joss and his editing team edited scenes in chronological order of the first 99 episodes. It showed Welcome To The Hellmouth of everybody introducing themselves, and it goes Fast Foward through all the episodes.
If you saw it again. I'm pretty sure you will remember it.

hmm, for me "I Will Remember You" also known on the net as IWRY then Becoming Pt.1 & 2, and following The Prom. Those episodes are my fav Buffy/Angel episodes.
I'm one of those fans that started in the beginning when it originally debuted on the WB as a midseason replacement. Ever since I saw "Welcome To The Hellmouth" when I was 16 I was hooked, and watched it(and Angel) regularly when they first aired and havent stopped since.
gee, the only day I'm off from school and work FX skips After Life and Flooded. I love After Life....it was so creepy.

I believed its one of the first ones along with ER. It went widescreen I believe in season 2. I know season one wasnt widescreen yet because Joss didnt have the money yet to get the film. It was intended to be widescreen ever since then, and Buffy never was(except Once More With Feeling) even though Buffy DVD Region 2 versions have them in widescreen. In Region 2 you can see slip-ups on the widescreens especially in Gone and Grave. Now the shows are widescreen crazy lol.

IMPORTANT NEWS ABOUT ANGE
A statement from The WB:
For the last seven years Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer have been cornerstones of our network. The sum total of the work done on those shows has produced some of the proudest moments in our history. Like some of the great series that are leaving the air this year, including Frasier and Friends, the cast, crew, writers and producers of Angel deserve to be able to wrap up the series in a way befitting a classic television series and that is why we went to Joss to let him know that this would be the last year of the series on The WB. We have discussed continuing the Angel legacy with special movie events next year, which is still on the table. In a perfect world, all of these details would be completed before this information went to the press so that we could be definitive about the show's ongoing future. But in any case, we did not want to contemplate this being the last year of Angel without giving the show the option of crafting their own destiny for this character and for this series. David Boreanaz continues to be one of the finest, classiest and friendliest actors we have had the pleasure to work with and we hope that the relationship furthers from here. The same can be said for all the actors and producers on the show.

Favorite Character: Buffy, Anya
Favorite Romance: Buffy/Angel.
Favorite Villian: Angelus
Favorite season: Definately season two. I love the entire season but Passion, halloween & suprise are my favorites in season 2.
My second favorite season is 3.
Favorite overall Episode: Once More with feeling, because it's just damn fun, but I also love Who Are you? (Season 4).
BTVS or Angel - Buffy hands down. I love everything about that show. I loved Angel when it first came out, but as soon as they got rid of the Doyle character I lost a bit of interest. I'm not a big Westley fan and I didn't like him as the replacement friend.

Favorite character - Buffy, Angel, Giles
Favorite romance - Buffy/Angel
Favorite Villan - Angelus, Drusilla
What are your favorite seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer?
My absolute favorite season of Buffy was Season 2, everything about it was fantastic and I loved the whole Angelus thing and the way that the end of Becoming Pt 2 just ripped my heart out of my chest. *wanders off to read Buffy/Angel fanfiction*
Season 3 is my second favorite season because I loved the Mayor and Faith and the show still had all of the elements that I liked.
Season 1 and Season 5 tie with me. Season 1 wasn't as strong or sophisticated as the other seasons but I still like it alot. I loved the storyarc of season 5 but there are some things in it that I don't like (robot buffy, too much spike, etc) Still, both seasons were excellent tv.
Season 4 always seems very weak to me. No Angel or Cordy, and instead of the deliciously passionate and angst ridden Buffy/Angel romance we get the boring Riley/Buffy romance. Plus the Initiative thing was way too X-files.
Season 6 I hate with a hatred that is bright and burning.
And after Season 6 I couldn't bring myself to watch Season 7.
Also, which show is better in your opinion - Buffy or Angel?? I"m a fan of both shows but I like seasons 1-5 Buffy better.

I got them all right. Did you?
Got some more info on The Grudge from www.smgboard.com:
The Director's Cut Dvd of the movie will be release in June of this year. Japan is getting the full director's version, but we have to wait to see it. If any of seen any behind the scenes of this movie you'll know certain scenes were cut out. I still have listened to Sarah's commentary yet.
On The Grudge 2 this is what Sam Raimi has to say on Sarah's return:
an interview with Raimi and Tapert talking about the Grudge 2 on comingsoon.net
QUOTECS: When do you start Grudge 2?
Tapert: Grudge 2, we're working on the script right now. Shimizu San and Taka were here for about two weeks, and sending treatments back and forth, ideally off to script in the next month or so.
CS: Takashi Shimizu would direct again?
Tapert: That's the intention. Based on him being here, there's a deal, there's everything, he said he loves it, he wants to do it. if he came back tomorrow and said no, he wasn't going to, he would legally be able to do that but I think everybody's aboard. Certainly Taka's aboard and we desperately think Shimizu san is fantastic.
CS: Will Sarah Michelle Gellar be Back?
Tapert: We loved working with Sarah and right now our intention is to use her character in the sequel. It's really her decision if she wants to come back and do it, but we loved the experience and love working with her and think she was not only an asset to bringing in an audience but to taking an American cast and an all Japanese crew and working in a strange land, she was the camp leader. She was the one who when the new people came over, she rallied, 'Hey, let's go out to dinner, let's go to the fish market, let's do all those things.' So she was really kind of the beacon for all the non Japanese speaking people who came to Japan. So to work with somebody like that again would be great.

Yeah, some of these were really hard. Or just things, I didn't think to remember. Anyways, here's my answers.
Q1. Darla
Q2. 1753
Q3. Kalderash
Q4. 4
Q5. No
Q6. Liam
Q7. Westport, Ireland
Q8. Enemies
Q9. A cross necklace
Q10. Outside Hemery High School

I added the spoiler tag, in case noone wants to know what I think of the answer to Q10.
Well, both answers are correct in its own way. He first saw her outside the Bronze on the show, but outside of Emory High in life. There was a flashback in one episode showing how Angel started getting his life in order.

02-07-2005, 01:14 PM
oh, I'm sorry I thought I posted a link for the answers. K, here's the answers:
1. Darla- we saw her sire him in Becoming Pt.1 and in season 2 of Angel
2. 1753
3.Kalderash-that the tribe family Jenny Calender was part of
4. 4-Pangs, Yoko Factor, Forever, End of Days, and Chosen
5. No-But Angelus did speak to her on the phone in season four once, but never met. Only in the comics
6. Liam
7.Galway, Ireland
8. Enemies
9.A cross necklace in Welcome To The Hellmouth
10. Outside Hemery High School. Now this is a trick question because it didnt ask where did they meet, but when did Angel first "saw" her. He saw in 1996 outside of her high school Hemery her freshman year. We saw this in Becoming Pt.1 on Angel's backstory.
the whole quiz took into account all seven seasons of Buffy, so this is an updated quiz

This one:
Q9. What did Angel give Buffy when he first met her?
A kiss
A Claddagh ring
A cross necklace
Well in the pilot Welcome To The Hellmouth he gives her the necklace when they first meet. A kiss was happened in "Angel" in Buffy's room when he vamped out. the Claddagh ring was given to her in "Surprise" as a birthday gift that symbolized love, friendship, and companionship. If you guys like doing these quizzes I could post some more each week? becuase they are kinda fun :).
The tricky one for me was when Angel was sired. That was kinda tricky.

Yes that would be a tricky question because they never explain who sired darla. Wait!!!!!!! i think know who did it was the master the dude from buffy.
Summers
02-07-2005, 02:31 PM
yup, The Master sired Darla. We actually saw him on Angel in the episode "Darla"(another episode as well), and its the same actor who portrayed him in Buffy. That was cool. However what makes it tricky is that Darla was sired twice. Wolfram & Hart brought her back from the dead alive human being. Dru killed her, and then sired her in "The Trial". Talk about a plot twist.....I was like "noooo way" but it was cool.

yea, definitely a what of couldve been senerio. It was interesting how she was becoming affected by Conner's soul. She didnt want to feel it, but she was. It was so sad, and ironic that she staked herself for her son to live.....awww moment there. I was a fan who loved Darla's arc since Buffy. Julie Benz did a great job.

I dont know if its theatre based yet because sometimes they are independent movies or they go to dvd or made for tv. All I heard its a featured length film.
I found this press release at Nick's website. Its sounds interesting:
Sky Whisper Production's "Unholy" Press Release:
Sky Whisper Productions' "Unholy" Movie Begins Production In New York
Features "Buffy" star Nicholas Brendon and "Carnivale" star Adrienne Barbeau.
NEW YORK, N.Y./EWORLDWIRE/Jan. 26, 2005 --- "Unholy," a new feature length thriller starring Adrienne Barbeau (Escape from New York, The Fog, Carnivale) and Nicholas Brendon (Psycho Beach Party, Buffy The Vampire Slayer) has begun shooting in Queens, N.Y., this past weekend. Under the directorial eye of Daryl Goldberg, and penmanship of Samuel Stephen Freeman, "Unholy" is the first in-house feature for Sky Whisper Productions. Sky Whisper Productions served as an associate producer on "Zombie Honeymoon" which is currently on the festival circuit. Joshua Blumenfeld and Freeman are Sky Whisper's executive producers.
The film deals with a grieving mother, Martha (Barbeau), trying to uncover the terrifying secret that is jeopardizing her family. Along with her son (Brendon), Martha becomes entwined in a conspiracy involving a fabled witch, Nazi occultists and the U.S. government. The film is inspired by an actual military document found discussing elements of Nazi witchcraft that were smuggled into small town Pennsylvania following World War II by the U.S. administration.
"We are thrilled to have actors of the caliber of Adrienne and Nicholas on Sky Whisper Productions' first feature film," said Blumenfeld, Sky Whisper CEO and "Unholy" executive producer. "Both stars have extraordinary followings and for good reason. I believe that this production will contain one of the best performances audiences have ever seen from both of these actors. There is already extraordinary buzz surrounding this film on dozens of Web sites, and we are confident that it will likely be one of the most successful horror films of the year."
"I believe that this terrifying and unusual tale, along with cult genre icons such as Barbeau and Brendon, is sure to guarantee a creation like none other," said Freeman, scriptwriter and co-executive producer on "Unholy." "There has never been a genre film like this before. Audiences will leave the theater scathed."

A while back Joss was named(supposely) the director of the new Wonder Woman movie. Since Joss has the reputation of picking casts from his shows many people were thinking it might be Sarah or Charisma. Well there is a rumor that this is the new Wonder woman:

Wonder Woman doesn't have a director, let alone a completed script (when was the last time the script was mentioned?), plus WB hasn't fully greenlighted the project, they have to get a sufficient script first. Oh no, this isn't Wonder Woman. She doesn't even closely resemble Diana. These rumors make me nervous, I need a confirmed denial of this. Soon.

lol. It was freaky. I saw it on Saturday with my sister. She was so freaked out she didnt want to go to bed. On the radio I heard my local DJ said he saw The Grudge, and that he was so scared he had to listen to the funny commentary of the cast lol.
Sarah actually has two movies already greenlighted and going into production this year. In March she is going to Texas to film "Revolver", and this summer Richard Kelly's "Southland Tales". Last year she signed on the A-List agency for stars which gives more connections.
I forgot to post this yesterday:
News about Buffy Animated!
Will David Boreanaz speak his role? What's about the pilot? Is there really a possibiliy, if Mutant Enemy shuts down?
There are some news about the animated "Buffy" show.
Apocalypse posted them on Whedonesque:
* David Boreanaz. He recently told the production team "I've never been approached by anyone, as far as getting involved, but i love doing voice-over and animation stuff. I'll never say that it wont happen, it just depends on where I am"
* The animated short comes to four minutes long, and is a condensed version of the script. It was rewritten by Joss and Jeph. It apparantly contains a fight scene. Eric Wight says that "from what I understand it turned out great!". It was done in 2D animation, with a little 3-D. He says "it was pretty dynamic stuff for the cartoon and the Buffy franchise"
* As well as Eric Wight, two other artists worked on the piece: Ted Blackman ("background artist") and John Calmette ("colourist"). They spent three months on it
* The director of the four minute animation short was Eric Radomski (of Batman: The Animated Series)
* Eric Wight on his future role in BtAS: "I will probably still do some Villain of the Week designs and some promotional artwork but we'll see"
* Jeph Loeb confirms that Mutant Enemy shutting down will have no effect on Buffy: Animated's future
* Although Jane Espenson didn't know the number of scripts for definite, she was right when she said eight, and these will be the first used
* And when will the series happen? The magazines answer - Soon!

argh!
I've heard "soon" since last Feb. when Angel was cancelled! Give me a date!!!
That would be awesome if DB voices Angel.
And I would love Charisma as WW. Although I don't know if she can do the "majestic" aspect that WW needs. Charisma is a beauty and great at comedic aspects of her roles but Diana requires a certain dignity.
But I'd be open to it. To see how she does since she's never really had that role before.

Ive only seen a couple Buffy eps and no Angel but i was curious:
1)What relationship do Buffy and Angel have-friends,lovers,fighters against evil?
2)Im a big Charmed fan-are the shows pretty similar?
MBCorp

1) Pretty much all 3 of what you listed. Buffy and Angel had this passionate, sexy, tragic, totally screwed up relationship. Their relationship changes quite a bit throughout the course of both shows, but to say any more would be giving it away. It's like they are meant for one another but can never be together. And I don't care how many Cordelia's or Riley's or Spikes they brought in, Buffy and Angel were the ultimate couple.
2) NO. Charmed is light and bouncy while Buffy is much darker and more serious, although it can be fun and humorous at times too. Really though, the shows don't have anything in common besides the supernatural element.

Essentially Buffy and Angel is the Romeo and Juliet of both shows without a doubt. They were friends that turned to love which revert Angel to the evil Angelus. They were mortal enemies for a while, but because of Buffy's love he had to leave so he wouldnt lose his soul again. This relationship lasted three years(first three seasons), but still is present in Buffy and Angel.
Buffy and Riley is the what couldve been relationship. It represented just being a couple, but not ever getting close. I've been in this one before. I like the guy, but I didnt love him. In the end they go their separate ways. There still friends, and their relationship only happened a year(half of year in season four and first half of season 5).
Spike and Buffy is actually two relationships. In season five it was hinted and later officially discovered Spike had bloodlust for Buffy. She only showed hints of recpirocating that love. In season six Buffy was so tramaized that she stopped believeing in herself and in the world. It ended up in a destructive, sexually violent relationship which is rarely shown on tv because its one of the most unspoken relationships in our society. In the last season there was nothing physical between them. For a whole entire season they had to build trust on both sides, and in the end that trust saved the world. Within that trust was a spark of passion. So Spike and Buffy basically had two relationships to show. This one actually began way back with hints in season two when Spike had the prediator(sp?) look of watching Buffy dance in the Bronze, and it escalted up to the last season.
In all I loved all of Buffy relationships because they were so different than the other. They represent different relationships people have in our society. All and all I'm a Spike/Buffy shipper due to the events that happened in Grave(season six finale), and the last season.

yea, that sums it up. Buffy has a good balance between light and dark, but they emphasized as a person grows up the situations become darker. And things got dark in the beginning way back in season two. There is some definite darkness in Buffy not much as Angel, but there is a lot especially in season 3 and 6. It can be campy, but very very serious.

02-10-2005, 02:42 PM
Hope Summers doesn't mind, here are just a couple of big news articles all coming from slayerverse.net:
Buffy Cartoon Artist's Heart is broken: Will Buffy Animated not happen?
Eric Wright is unhappy about the chances of Buffy Animated: "For all the crap on TV there are so many great things that fall by the wayside because of all the politicking that goes on."
As a huge Buffy fan, can you tell me what the cartoon's current status is?
It's frustrating. It's probably the biggest heartbreak that I've had, because it's such an amazing show. The scripts that were written for the cartoon were written by Steve DeKnight and Joss (Whedon, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and Jane Espenson wrote one of the funniest scripts I've ever read in my life. And they're not getting made.
It just kills me that it hasn't happened yet, but it's such a hard thing, because Buffy is so ... it breaks all boundaries of entertainment, you know? The peg doesn't quite fit into one shaped hole. Networks think they knew what to do with it in the beginning, and now, even though it's a success, they don't know what to do with the cartoon. "Is it a cartoon for kids? Is it for adults? Should it be in primetime? Should it be Saturday morning?"
I started working on it back in season four (of the live-action Buffy). I was hired and laid off, like, six times. ... The last thing I did — last year, I guess — we did a four-minute pilot.
But, you know, I've worked on so many like this. You just kind of get used to the weird politics and the weird, for the lack of a better term, pissing contest that happens when everyone's trying to get a piece of the action. For all the crap that's on television, there are so many great things that fall by the wayside because of all the politicking that goes on.

QUOTESapphic casting?: Who would "The L Word" star Jennifer Beals most like to see in a lesbian love romp? "I want Buffy - I want Sarah Michelle Gellar on the show," the 41-year-old Beals told Lowdown at Showtime's second-season premiere party at Duvet. "I've told [executive producer] Ilene [Chaiken], ad nauseam. She just laughs and walks away. I'm going to try again this year, and we'll see what happens. It's set in L.A, so Sarah could be herself." Yesterday Gellar's rep said: "She'd be flattered - who wouldn't be? Jennifer Beals is an icon."

does the test include Angel characters or just Buffy?
Summers

Its only Buffy characters, but Angel, Wesley, and Cordy is included in it because they were part of the Buffy series. On another board someone was Principal Wood.
I'm PMing some buffy fans I know, and see if they want to take part in the quiz. I already PM Katie. I'm just curious who everybody is.
Spoon, will you have enough time to finish season 7 before Angel comes out next week? cause your only halfway through lol.
